A phone call
He stopped when he was just seated on one of the cushions. Closed his eyes. Yawned. The surprise he felt was a nuisance he should have seen coming—why wouldn't she be dating after all?
"Yeah," Jack grunted as he got up, rubbing at his face. "Lock the door when you leave." She always did in the end anyway.

Chel frowned, feeling a little betrayed.
"I don't know. It happened after that run in with the werewolves." And she seemed to lose a little energy with the phrase, like just remembering the event sucked the light out of her.

She didn't (couldn't?) understand his reaction.
"D'you mind f'I stay with you?" she asked, rubbing her arms. "Don't really want t'be alone tonight." Not after all the nightmare fuel.

"You can take the couch." He didn't see why she needed to ask, he had already offered before they even set out. But if he was going to wake up alone, he might as well go to sleep alone, whatever nightmarish visions came. "Blanket's in the usual spot if you get cold."

"In your room," she insisted. "Floor's fine."
Don't leave me alone. A selfish plea from a person that was leaving in the morning.

"He floated celery with his mind," she repeated, "And a knife." She said the second part less comfortably, still feeling the icy fear of a knife wielded around her.
"But then," and she takes grip of the story again. "We was in the bathroom and I did this-" She pointed one hand like a gun, "And I shot ... something. Like. A little bullet but softer."

Jack's brow furrowed as he listened, not speaking up until he was sure Chel was finished. He leaned over the counter and crossed his arms.
"So...invisible bullets and telekinesis." He paused and then made the same motion with his hand as if expecting some odd power of his own to manifest. Nothing seemed to happen.
"...Wait, why the bathroom?"

a phone call
He stopped, wishing he had something more than a drowsy irritation to work with. Something that would let him be dickish enough to keep her out. Jack wasn't above being petty, he just chose to ignore or redirect problems most of the time.
"Yeah," was all he said before falling onto his stomach on the bed, and she could take it however she wanted. At least the door didn't shut behind him.

a phone call
Chel felt the beginnings of a headache (and Chel very, very rarely got headaches) and she followed behind him with no complaint. She took the other side of his bed, with her back to him.
Her hands trailed out at her sides. She was desperate for the embrace they'd been in before. She wasn't sure if it was the person (Jack was tall, lanky and awkward, but encompassing in his size) or just the warmth of another person, but she sorely missed what she'd destroyed in a single phone call.
Her fingers dug into the sheets. She was quiet, paranoid and didn't sleep well that night.

Chel looked at him somewhat guardedly. She was expecting another laugh at any moment. "Not invisible-"
He cut her off with another question and she rolled her eyes. "'Cause toilets make me really horny," she deadpanned before explaining, "He needed his bandages changed and couldn't do it on his own." Details, details.

ive got a gun
Chel took a deep breath and looked around the room for something to hit. The couch seemed good enough- if it took a hit it would probably be fine right? After all, Shun's mirror had been okay.
She snapped her fingers and did a double pistols at the couch, and sure enough a small pellet of energy shot out and hit the couch with a force no greater than a nerf gun dart.
"See?"

Jack's brows raised as he assessed the couch--no residue, barely a mark, certainly visible projectile...
"Did you envision it into existence?" he asked. "Does it take energy? How many times can you do it?"
