Kelina .|. Post 1

It wasn't quite Kelina's turn in the tournament yet so she and Vepkhia found themselves out by the stands. The large culmination of all the different races around her made her slightly nervous, especially for her daughter who was just getting used to being in Oba. Vepkhia was a bit older now and since they were at a festival of sorts, she had allowed her youngest one to wander around as she wished. Kelina could only be the protective mother for so long. It would be way too easy to just baby and coddle her smallest child for the rest of her life, but that wouldn't do her any good.

She sighed as she looked around. Being of average height, she could see most people, though admittedly not the best. It made her nervous to not have Vepkhia in her sights. At least Kelina was happy to know that Kres was here and was actually signed up to fight which surprised her and had made Vepkhia excited beyond expectations.

Vepkhia .|. Post 1

Vepkhia's eyes were large as she looked around at everything. There was so much to take in: all the different smells from the stalls that sold food, all the bright clothing of the people, and just all the people in general! She and her momma hadn't been in Oba for very long. Kelina hadn't been too happy about her wanting to come to the tournament with her but with her father busy, she hadn't of had much of a choice. At least she was allowed to wander around a bit on her own, that in itself was nice. She loved her mother of course, but it was nice to experience things by herself sometimes.

Vep kept an eye out for her brother, who was apparently signed up to fight in the tournament. It had been awhile since she had seen Kressy and was excited to see him, and even more excited to see him fight! She wandered around the stalls before heading towards the stands. The time of when her brother and mother were supposed to fight was put in the back of her head so she wouldn't forget but she could watch some other battles as well! At least until her attention was taken by someone in very pretty clothing. She changed her course and headed towards the person. "Your clothing is very pretty!!" She commented happily.

Eleina Post 2

Eleina watched as more and more people came and sat around Masika. It seemed the hybrid just attracted all sorts of people! She nodded to each and every one of them as they sat. What an odd group they were, the bunch of them all hybrids. Eleina marveled at how unique they looked compared to everyone else. It made her proud to be part of the group.

When V’demhe spoke to her she nodded. She would make sure that Masika was okay. She wasn't a little girl, but by now she had learned just how protective Dem was. "I'll make sure she stays safe. I can't wait to see you fight! I'm hoping that you'll be back in the stands to see me fight." Her own mother couldn't make it, but she hoped that all of her friends would see her fight at the very least.

Naevius .|. Post 1

This whole ordeal was pretty exciting for Naevius. She was so glad her father had decided to make Oba open for any and all to come and participate in the tournament. Of course that likely meant some unsavory people would likely show up as well, to take advantage of all the different races gathered in one place. Nae hoped the good people arriving would far outweigh the bad.

As typical Naevius style, her clothing was modest yet could still be considered fairly expensive to some. There was always a fine line she had to walk when it came to what she did and how she did things least she upset the other nobles. With Sebastien busy, Varinia was one to accompany her whenever she could to help keep from having lots of guards follow her around. In when Varinia had to go for her turn in the tournament, Nae knew she'd likely be in the stands watching her, not only because she wanted to but because it was likely the safest option. She just hoped Varinia did well and didn't get hurt.

The Princess' eyes scanned the mass of people around her and kept close to her handmaiden. She had to admit, she was a little nervous since the beast charmer had little experience with the other races of Tendaji - at least besides the few she had seen while captured. They had some working at the compound and had seen some in the capital but nothing like this. "The amount of people who came is kind of amazing, isn't it Varinia?"

Her hands kept checking her waist to make sure her whip and coin purse were still there. She'd been used to walking among crowds of people so her coin purse actually held a relatively small amount while another purse was hidden on her person that would require more than deft hands to take away. She wasn't taking any chances. "Are you nervous for your fight?"

Naevius is open for interactions! Your character is free to know her station or perhaps not. I only ask that the interactions be fairly civil. Her handmaiden/temporary protector Varinia will be with her though. ^.^ Just quote me!

Varinia .|. Post 1

Varinia was glad that her fight was later in the day so she could make sure Naevius was safe and could see as much as she could at the beginning of the tournament. Without Sebastien, her role was doubled for this tournament. She had to be Nae's handmaiden and temporary protector, at least to keep from having to have an entourage of guards following Naevius around. It was her job to not only keep her safe, but to keep her happy as well. "It is sort of amazing how many people are here. Hopefully everyone can co-exist peacefully while here for the tournament. We just have to be on our guard."

She smiled at her employer and her friend. The two had quickly bonded as Vari could tell that Naevius needed her own space when the two had first met. Vari knew she was quite capable and did what she could to make sure the Princess could have what she wanted, while still being safe of course. "I am nervous for my fight. I don't have as much practice with my spear as I'm sure most of these people have. I guess the only positive is once Delsa is bigger I'll be up in the air and will only really have to worry about projectiles." She laughed even though it was true. She didn't really want to have to fight people but would if needed.

Ilyra Post 1

Although Ming'we didn't come to the torment Ilyra still felt she had to go. She hadn't seen her mother since she left and she had promised to meet up with her there. So after promising to come back as soon as it was all done Ilyra set out. She would be back to help out soon enough, but first she wanted to prove her strength in the battle field. She was sure Ming'we would be surprised if she came back and told the girl she won the whole thing.

The tournament was pretty big, and had the excited nature of the one before it. So many smells, so many people, it was just wonderful. However she had things she needed to do, so as soon as she was there Ilyra set off to find either her mother, her aunt, or Dya. She didn't know where even to start looking. It would've been smarted to have set up some kind of meeting spot.

"Family....?" Ilyra called out, not wanting to call out one of their name and risk missing one of the others.

Briella Post 1

Although she had been looking for her daughter since she got there she hadn't been able to spot the girl. It was making her nervous. Ilyra had promised that she would be there no matter what before she left, and she had seen her daughters name signed up for a fight when she went to check who she would be fighting, which suggested that Ilyra was there it was just a matter of where.

As she walked around she spotted someone whom she had met before, a Earthling that was good company once before. "Hello Kelina! By any chance have you seen an albino Alkidike walking about? I've been looking for my daughter since I got here but I haven't been able to find her."

Hopefully the earthling would help her look, two eyes were always better then one.

Lasseyn Post 1

Lasseyn held onto her mother with an iron grip. There were so many people everywhere, and although she would never admit it she was a little scared. She wished that her father and sister were there with her, then maybe she wouldn't feel so out of place.

As Lasseyn looked around she realized just how many other hybrids there were out there. Some looked a little like her, and some looked completely different. It was crazy really. All the purebloods looked cool too, some of them were races that she had never even seen before! And their clothing was so different. Then again so was hers. She couldn't wear the same thing in Oba that she did back in her home forests.

"Mommy look look! That looks yummie!" she said as she pointed to one of the stalls. She had been dying to try some of the different foods but hadn't been hungry until right that second.

Kelina .|. Post 2

Her eyes had still been scanning the crowd when she heard a voice that broke whatever kind of daze she had been in. Kelina's eyes blinked for a few moments before registering what was asked and smiled. "Hello, Briella, right?" She tried to recall the alkidike's name. Names weren't something she was always great with so she had a small apologetic smile. "I haven't seen an albino alkidike, at least not yet. Though admittedly, I've been keeping an eye out for my daughter as well. We parted ways once we got her, she wanted to have a little independence and see things on her own. But like you, I think, I'm still worried for her." Kel laughed slightly.

"If you'd like, we can wander around together and see if we can find them! My girl wouldn't quite stand out as much as yours, she's a very skinny shifter. Her crystals on her sides and legs do look like stripes, though, I don't know how visible they would be in this crowd."

I honestly don't remember if Kel and Briella have ever met but I'm down with them having met at some point. Two worried mothers. razz

Lasarra Post 1

She laughed at her daughter, glad for the tight grip on her hand. The last thing she wanted was to lose her daughter in the crowd of people. She didn't know what would happen. There was to many people there, and to many places that Lasseyn could get lost in.

"Do you want some? We should only eat a little though. I have to go fight soon and if you eat a lot then you won't have room for other foods later." she told her daughter.

Both Izsha and Archan walked besides the pair of hybrids. Not only would Lasseyn be in a safe place when she fought but the pair of them would be staying with her. Lasarra wasn't taking any chances, and she knew both of her familiars would do anything to make sure her daughter was safe if it was needed.

JHANA (post 2)

Jhana felt her hand tugged by Jerami and squeezed it tight. They would be in so much trouble. Jhana knew she should feel worse about it... but... she wanted to see the others. Where else was she going to be able to see all of the different people of Tendaji? It was an opportunity she couldn't miss.

Her hand was tugged again, this time violently and Jhana jerked her head over to her siblings. Oh... Shima was already onto food and movement. She felt her grin flicker on her face. Usually she hated when her sister pushed them all around and made them do things, but this was a special occasion. And the food did look delicious. "What are we going to try first?" she asked, a sparkle in her eye. She meant it when she said first, she was willing and wanting to try anything she could today. "And then we should go shopping." She raised one of her eyebrows and she looked to Jerami. She was sure he would love some new fabric or even a new dress to wear.

Briella Post 2

She nodded with a smile on her face. She understood not being good with names, and it had been sometime since the two of them saw each other.

When Kelina said she hadn't seen Ilyra the alkidike frowned, looking around once before turning her attention towards Kelina once more. It seemed that the two of them had the same issue. "Giving them their Independence is so hard. Ilyra is pretty old already, but she's just left home and I can't help but be worried about her." Briella admitted. She felt silly being so worried about someone who some would consider a grown women, but she couldn't help it. Ilyra was her daughter.

"That sounds like a wonderful idea. What is she wearing?" Briella asked. There were many shifters there, but with the two of them looking she was sure that both of their daughters would be found.

I'm pretty sure they met at one point xD I might be wrong though. We'll go with the assumption they have.

Aayanna Post 1

She could do this. She was sure of it. If she couldn't walk among the mainlanders then how would she ever expect to teach them her ways, the ways of her people, the right way. Taking a deep breath Aayanna walked through the mainlanders, not speaking and clutching her bag at her side. Every step that she wasn't attacked or smote gave her confidence. This was where she belonged. There wasn't much more for her to do on her island, but here there were tons of work for her.

Even though she felt better about being there she still wasn't confident about talking to any of the mainlanders. At seeing another of her kind she rushed over to Mosi. "Did you know there were this many mainlanders?" she asked in a hushed tone.

SRIINA (post 2)

Sriina took a deep breath in, sizing up Kyruie and then Ashta and she felt her heart give just a little flutter. What was with her? She didn't know what the feeling was, but she knew they just being around Ashta made her feel more fidgety than she should, and then to add Kyruie to the mix... well that was another story.

Her parents had decided that she still needed to go through with the wedding, something that was beyond her understanding. But she knew it wasn't going to change anything and her future was set.

She reached the two men and ran a hand over her braids. "Hello." She said slowly. How was she supposed to address these two? Fiance for one? Was she friends with the other? She just waited in awkward silence while she felt the world moving forward in time without her.

YEJIDE (post 2)

Yejide's ears perked up at the sounds around her. First tournament? It was coming from a wind girl nearby, and she looked like she was green. She couldn't be much older than her younger cousin, and on top of that the look in her eyes said she hadn't been to many places outside of wherever it was she had come from.

Yejide rested a hand on her hip, pulling her dreads away from her face with the other. "Pretty overwhelming, right?" She grinned. "I remember my first Oban tournament." She had remembered when the tournaments were a way to show a person's rank in the world. Those who won were respected, and it was a great honor to be recognized as the victor. Now that the Oban boarders were open, it cheapened the whole thing.
