Seeing how easily Lilian outpaced him, Leo would sigh softly. "Well, I was the fool who challenged bunny faunus to a foot race..." With that, he would notice some movement in the overgrowth ahead and to his right. Gripping Deus tighter, he would break off from the path and rush into the foliage, using basic parkour to keep his momentum as he found the source of the movement; a wild turkey. With this discovery, Leo would whoop in excitement despite himself and catch the game immediately, the chase only lasting about two minutes due to his momentum, and catching the bird unawares.
Leaping out from the brush, he would see Lilian about twenty five feet away from where he emerged. Content that he was in the right place, he would scan the clearing carefully, the turkey hanging upside down in his left hand unconscious. The deer faunus and the two humans that were discussing among each-other piqued his interest, but the faunus and human standing a bit away from the trio immediately made Leo stop in his tracks. 'Those two are like me... They're veterans in battle...' His instincts would confirm in the back of his mind. Taking mental notes of the duo quickly, he would immediately see the subtle nuances that Old Dalan had whenever he was trying to see something in another. Leo knew he would have to examine the dead Grimm to be completely sure.
"Glad to see that there were more students than just the three of us." He would say in a casual tone. He didn't want so say or do anything that tipped his hand, still unsure as to why they were sent out here in the first place. 'First rule when dealing with an unknown situation, gather all the intel you can.' Old Dalan's voice would echo in the back of his mind. This memory not as much painful, but comforting, knowing that his teacher's words were still with him, even after a year of travel on his own.
"So who wants to start the introductions...? I'll make some food if no one minds? Being on the road for as long as I have, you tend to take meals where you can get them..." He would trail off as he tied the turkey to his pack, sheathing Deus, and slowly make his way around the clearing, picking up sticks and dry foliage, all the while, keeping the strangers within clear lines of sight, noting their behaviors as he did so. At the current pace that he was moving, he would be able to examine the dead grim in a minute before they vanished to whatever hell they spawned from.

♞ Evangeline "Eva" Angeli ♞
┌
Eva softly sighed as Lance said he was tired again, sitting beside him again as he slumped down against a tree. She wasn't sure how she felt about him patting her head like she was a child but she supposed that he was tired and couldn't be blamed for being a bit odd at the moment. If he tried it again though she might smack his hand.
She looked up as another group joined theirs, shyly pressing a little closer to Lance as she looked at the others. The Faunus girl was first to join them, followed by a dark haired boy who mentioned a third. The boy seemed to be rather aware of them, almost like he was watching for them to strike. She glanced at Hirsch, still a bit uncertain about the Faunus boy's personality since they'd only met somewhat briefly.
Since she'd already taken charge of their group during their battle she supposed she was the one who would be best suited for making introductions though she wished she could tell Hirsch to do it for her. He seemed much more easy going and she was generally too shy to feel comfortable talking with strangers.
"I'm Evangeline. This is Lance and Hirsch. We've already run into some Grimm, some Beowolves, and we dealt with them well enough. There were also some others who said they were students but we think they might have been proctors of some form. They said their names were Chrissy and Yoru."
With that her willingness to speak had run out and she huddled a bit closer to Lance for comfort, felling somewhat claustrophobic from talking so much. Already she had early reached her limit on how much she was willing to speak to new people. Anyone else could deal with Lance or Hirsch for a while.
╔══════════☣═══════════╗ Yoru Burakkudaria Headmaster of Beacon ╚══════════☣═══════════╝
════════════════════════════════════xx━╃☪╄━xx════════════════════════════════════ Yoru stayed in the shadows as he listened to the group talk. A look of displeasure crossed his face as he heard that the students had figured him and Chrissy out but kept his mouth shut. He decided to begin walking away from the group and with a tap on Chrissy's shoulder and a nod he headed deeper into the forest.
As he walked away his ears perked up at a distant sound that actually scared him a little. A loud bellowing would echo across the forest and soon a giant Rhinoceros shaped Grimm came charging through the forest. It had not seen Yoru but he could guess where it was heading and he took of running at full speed towards the group. He would arrive at the clearing out of breath and could barely speak, but what could be made out was Rhino Grimm. Soon the rhino would crash into the clearing and Yoru knew he would have to reveal himself. "Chrissy we need to protect the students! Now y'all need to leave now. This is too powerful for y'all right now." ════════════════════════════════════xx━╃☪╄━xx════════════════════════════════════ ⊰ Semblance: Active/ Not Active ⊱ ⊰ Cooldown: 0 Posts ⊱ ⊰ Dust Slots: ⊱ ⊰ Gravity: 6 Swings ⊱ ⊰ Ice: 6 Swings ⊱ ⊰ Lightning: 6 Swings ⊱ ⊰ Steam: 6 Swings ⊱
Chrissy considered the students thoughtfully, a bit worried that they knew they were being watched and were trying to decide what to do about it. She stayed back as Yoru crept closer through the shadows, hidden from the students' awareness by his ability to merge with the shadows.
She startled slightly as Yoru tapped her shoulder, sighing softly as nodded to him as he left. After a while of watching over the students she heard the loud roar echoing through the trees. She felt dread at the sound, quickly returning her blade to it's bladed staff form. Obediently she nodded as Yoru directed her to defend the children, stalking toward the rampaging beast to meet it head on, her hair billowing out behind her slightly as she focused on the threat to those she had sworn to protect.
As she saw the Grimm, Chrissy paused and felt a brief tremor of fear before she settled and started to dance. She dodged out of the beast's path at the last moment, her blade scraping along the Grimm's side to try to draw its attention to her as she whirled away from the creature. Her steps were sure as she moved, turning and turning as she struck and backed away again to keep it's attention on her and away from the children as Yoru ushered them out of danger.
Hirsch turned around to meet the other three students that joined them. He looked between them. Rats. They were a team of three, too. That meant that both teams were short a member each.
The young Deer Faunus put his hands on his hips as Evangeline introduced them all. "Nice to meet you guys. I'm the one called 'Hirsch.'" he said, smiling at the group. "So, you're also an uneven group, too." he noted. "We're down one, too."
Before Hirsch could get to try to know the newcomers better, he spotted Yoru running towards them. His eyes widened as Yoru revealed both himself and Chrissy as teachers. And with good reason.
There, charging towards their group, was a rhinoceros-shaped Grimm.
Hirsch drew out both of his pistols, but didn't try to fight. This was in defense.
"Crap, run!!" He waited for others to start moving before he would run towards the back of the group, his pistols set and ready for in case he needed to shoot at the rhino if it charged their way.

It had been a hour and a half since Yoru had left for the student's 'Initiation', a bit too long for Zack's liking, and for good reason. He had been in the forest for a half hour, and already he's had to fight a disturbingly large number of Grimm. They were mostly creeps and beowulfs, but there were ursa and karkadruum mixed in as well. After fighting the largest grouping he had come across yet, he would notice two things; Duo found his way to the rum again, the scent strong in the air around his little partner. The second was a path with fresh tracks in it. Examining them closely, his face would pale slightly as he confirmed them to be the tracks of another karkadruum. "By the gods... these things are supposed to be closer to the prairies of Mistral, nowhere near the forest here..." His deep voice would mutter worriedly.
Standing upright, he would pull out his shades and slip them on quickly, activating the hardware within and checking the signal strength of the area. "Damn... no signal strength here, I'll have to just find him myself. C'mon Duo, we're moving." He would call out to the small corgi. With a comical belch, Duo would bark once in confirmation and dash after Zack, who was already starting to follow the tracks at a light jog. The path was mostly clear, save for the occasional creep popping up from the ground. Zack would pay them no mind as he used them for light practice on his quick-draw. After a good ten minutes of tracking, he would spot the Grimm, only just in time to see it charge into a clearing at full speed.
Running after it, he would immediately see Yoru, Chrissy, and several children in the clearing. Drawing Flamma Animam, he would yell out to Chrissy in a lighthearted tone. "Hey beautiful! 'Tag'!" Taking a stance, he would wait for the keyphrase to be called back to him, giving him the green light to jump in with full speed. Duo, upon seeing the large Grimm, would growl and dash off after it, still reeking of rum and poor choices as he jumps out of the brush.
Leo was only feet away from the dispatched beowulfs before he could feel the ground shake from heavy foot falls. The next thing he knew, a karkadruum came barreling out of the forest just a few feet to his right. Looking to the group, he could see their panic and worry. Noticing instantly that the two he was wary of were acting very professionally about the situation, Leo could confirm that his hunch was correct. Without missing a beat, he would drop his pack and loosen his anima daggers from their resting places on his rig, hooking them up to his gauntlets as he pulled them out and locked the hilts into place.
He would hear the male yell to back off, to run for safety, but Leo would ignore that call, his eyes going ice cold as his usual battle high took over. Slipping the dagger out from his left hand, he would take the cable once it lengthened out to four feet and spin it silently, the dagger singing softly as it cut through the air. Keeping tabs on the woman as she began a dance of sorts, striking the tough hide of the Grimm, he would take a stance and whip the dagger at the large Grimm with a flick of his wrist.
The dagger would fly true as it hit the karkadruum square in the side of the head. With an angry snort, it would glare at Leo as he retracted the cable and took his dagger out of the air casually. Returning the look, Leo would begin to repeat his earlier steps, only this time with both daggers in a form of ritualistic dance, the blades singing their familiar song as he prepared for his next attack. Before he could, he would hear a familiar voice call out to the woman, and see a small corgi come bolting out from the forest after the large Grimm, smelling heavily of spirits. Unsure as to what he should do next, he would hold his ground and continue his dance, making the blades sing louder over time as he poured more strength and speed into them.

════════════════════════════════════xx━╃☪╄━xx════════════════════════════════════ Yoru's face took on a dark look when he heard his quote unquote best friend call out to the girl he had his eyes on. His gauntlets began to glow and power up and then he disappeared into the shadows. As the Karkadruum turned towards Leo it would begin to charge, as it neared the student Yoru would appear from the shadow being casted by the young hunter in training and grabbed it's front horn and not move an inch as he held it back from charging. He would twist his wrist and flip it onto it's side breaking the horn off and leaving it extremely vulnerable. After that he would fade into the shadows again and reappear by its weak spot behind the neck and slam his electrified Gauntlet into the spot, but even though the beast bellowed in pain he did not stop punch after punch he landed on its face, neck, and spine. His punches did not stop until there was not even a twitch from his opponent. Straightening up he dusted off his coat and turned towards the others. "Well that takes care of that, I'd say." His face was back to his usual smile as his anger was all gone thanks to the giant Punching bag he had right there. ════════════════════════════════════xx━╃☪╄━xx════════════════════════════════════ ⊰ Semblance: Active/ Not Active ⊱ ⊰ Cooldown: 0 Posts ⊱ ⊰ Dust Slots: ⊱ ⊰ Gravity: 6 Swings ⊱ ⊰ Ice: 6 Swings ⊱ ⊰ Lightning: 6 Swings ⊱ ⊰ Steam: 6 Swings ⊱
Chrissy relaxed slightly as she heard Zack call out for her to allow him to jump in to help. Before she could reply though, one of the children managed to draw the Karkadruum's attention to himself and was being targeted. Thankfully Yoru managed to take it out before the boy could be harmed. With a soft sigh, she shook her head and smiled at Zack. "I was wondering where you'd gotten to. You're late," she teased, whirling her blade absently around her before breaking it back into daggers.
Turning to Leo she frowned, putting her hand on her hips. "You shouldn't have drawn its attention. You weren't ready for this kind of Grimm yet and we were prepared to deal with it. You could have put yourself and your teammates into jeopardy if Yoru hadn't handled it so quickly." She shook her head again, sighing and turning to Yoru.
"You really need to work on your anger issues Yoru. Really, was that necessary?" she asked with a slight shake of her head. "I suppose we might as well explain things now. It's a shame, really," she sighed, absently swaying her hips as she looked over the students. When she noticed the small corgi she smiled and knelt to pet Duo, murmuring to him. "Hello. Thank you for coming to help. You should try not to get into the alcohol though. It's not good for you."
≺She was late. Vanora was late, and she hated it. The woman sprinted to the launch pads and allowed one to fling her through the air to save some time. Spotting a branch approaching, she activated her weapon and made a set of glowing blue claws protrude from each of the fingers. As she reached out to grasp the branch, the woman made a good solid swing around it upon connection, using her momentum to send herself forward to repeat the process a few more times before she reached the ground, in search of the other staff and possible students. God, she was so late.
It took a while, but the sound of distant fighting meant she was on the right track. She let the feeling of malice guide her until she found that it hadn't lead her where she wanted to go, but instead lead her to an angry Ursa. A low curse escaped the woman as she prepared herself for engagement, causing the bear-like creature to let out an upset battle cry.
After a while of dodging the creature's powerful swings and attacking where she found openings in its defenses, Vanora managed to ambush the Ursa and scaled its back, despite it trying to forcefully tear her from it. However, she had experience with these disgusting animals. The Ursa screamed in rage, though Vanora was too busy wrapping her whip around its thick neck like a garrote. "Look! Today is not my day either, buddy! Now stop struggling and die!" She retorted and forcefully kicked it in the back. It was then that the bear had decided enough was enough and charged in the direction the group with the woman on its back in an attempt to shake her from it.≻

Looking back to Leo, she nodded her head in his earlier claim, as her response. However, she looked past him to see that her twin brother was no where to be seen, and this worried her. Then again, her twin may have other plans in mind, and she had a strong feeling that this wouldn't be the last time that she would see him. Reassuring herself, her ears perked up to the sound, of what was a rather large grim.
Lilian re-positioned herself in a defensive mode, and slightly hid behind Leo. Her heart raced to the idea of the unknown creature, as all she could hear was the thumping from the ground. "What is that?" She muttered to herself, fear began to creep over her, but she did well to stay vigilant.
When the beast came out in to the clearing, and watched as Leo took action, Lilian held her chest, as if afraid her heart would burst out. "Leo!!" She cried out to him. The creature was to strong for either of these students, even she will admit that she would be no match. Her feet stuck where she stood, her heart pounding, and all she could do was be scared for the worst events possible.
When a newcomer revealed himself, and the teachers, students? took out the Grim, Lilian took a step forward with a gasp, as if coming up from waters for the first time. The young Faunus hesitantly took a few more steps forward before rushing to Leo's side, and clung to his right arm. She dared not look at him, and stared to the ground. She felt so helpless, and useless, that, maybe she wasn't worthy of being here liker her brother is.
Feeling her eyes burn with tears, Lilian bit her bottom lip. Her soft white bunny ears sunk low behind her head in shame. "I....I'm sorry...." She pleaded. She felt so weak, and didn't know what else to say or do. The girl listened in to what the others had to say and wearily looked up to their form. However, Lilian liftered her left ear to a faint sound, then perked up both ears again, while turning her attention behind herself.
She waited to see what was rushing their way before she would act. Yet, another grim stormed out from the brush, and a girl riding on top of it? Lilian straightened her back, and decided to take action herself. "Not this time!" She encouraged herself. Letting go of Leo's forearm, she slowly walked in the direction of the rampaged Grim before accelerating in to a full run. She glared at the creature, just before she would get any closer, the Faunus flipped forward high into the air, and quickly landed on the grims head. In this instant, as though it felt that time itself had stopped. "Enough!" She growled under breath, and pole-vaulted herself off, activating her weapons trigger, shooting the creature with a direct head shot. Back-flipping on to the ground several times before landing on her feet next to Leo once again. Taking in a few breaths, Lilian was able to calm herself down. She looked back up to Leo with a weary smile. "I guess that takes care of that." assuming the head shot was enough to kill the creature that is...

Lance only opened one eye to gaze upon his companion Eva as he felt her come to his company. With his arm over her shoulder, he moved his attention to everyone else as Eva deemed it her duty to introduce their group. When she finished, he closed his eyes once more, placing his hand to the side of her head, and and lightly rests his head against hers. "Be careful, some men find confidence alluring, and might sweep you off your feet." He teased her.
However, Lance shot his eyes open, and jumped to his feet, while helping Eva up to hers at the same time. Taking a step forward while readying himself for a fight, A large Grim appeared. Before he would even consider taking action, it seemed Leo had already made the move to do so, followed by a new comer revealing himself. It would appear the assumed teachers had already taken care of the scenario, to which Lance relaxed his shoulders.
After hearing Chrissy, he only rolled his eyes, and stood behind Eva to rest his arms on top of her shoulder, and his chin on top of her head. "Eva......I'm sleepy......" He said lazily with a slight pouting expression. He motioned his gaze to another scenario that also quickly ended witH Lilian taking out yet another grim. Sighing, he looked back to the so called teachers before resting the side of his head on top of Eva's. "Can we go to the academy now?" He whined tiredly.

≺On the bright side, Vanora had finally found her colleagues and the kids. On the other hand, she was riding a very angry Ursa and praying that her grip wouldn't falter as it ran and thrashed around vehemently. Nora took a deep breath, having ridden the creature far longer than she would have preferred, and a determined look blazed in her eyes as she steadied her balance on the raging bear, using her whip around the bear's neck as an anchor of sorts. However, when a young girl charged them and attacked the Ursa, Vanora had to make a quick decision to go down with the bear or hastily dismount. Seeing less damage resulting from the latter option, she released her hold on the creature and prepared for a rough landing as she dove off and rolled out of the way, letting out a small his of discomfort in doing so. The Ursa, however, fell to the ground with enough force to shake it. If it wasn't dead, it would certainly be pissed now. However, it seemed that the girl's attack had been enough and the Ursa was slain, as it hadn't moved in a few minutes. With that, Vanora rose to her feet and dusted herself off, looking to the girl with a frown. "Young lady, that was incredibly reckless and you could have been seriously hurt if you had miscalculated your jump time by even a second!" She began to scold, putting her hands on her hips with a huff. "However, while I would have liked to dismount before you killed it, I appreciate that you took the initiative and freed me from that hellish ride. It was brave... Stupid, but brave. You have my thanks, though..." Vanora's voice softened a bit, "Do try to be more careful when charging into danger like that next time." She offered a small smile, then turned to the other staff members and bowed quickly. "I apologize for my tardiness, Yoru. I had been busy organizing files when I lost track of time, though, there really is no excuse for my being late. Forgive me."≻
Zane's eyes would widen when he saw an eerily familiar weapon fly out to strike the karkadruum in the head before Chrissy could respond to his call. Sprinting out into the clearing, he would see Yoru finish the Grimm off in his usual jealousy fueled rage. With a laugh, he would look to Chrissy and wink playfully. "Sorry darlin', I was preoccupied. I'll explain in further detail in private... Also, Yoru, Duo found the stash again. I told you to hide that stuff man, he's a worse addict than us..." He would glance at his friend and grin from ear to ear. "Now then, shall we into..." His words cut off upon the sight of Leo, the young boy he knew years ago, now standing there as a grown man. "By the gods... Leo..." He would say softly before getting interrupted by another Grimm entering the clearing. A pissed off ursa with... Was that Nora on top of it...?
Within moments, the ursa would be slain by a young faunus woman that had hidden herself against Leo earlier. With a low whistle, he would walk over to Nora's side and look at the Grimm. "Nice entrance there princess, not as regal as i would have thought you would aim for, but impressive." He would smirk and give her a friendly wink before drawing Flamma Animam and giving the ursa a cautionary stab through the neck for good measure. With that taken care of, he would look to the other people in the clearing, in time to hear one of them whine about going to the academy.
"Guess the cat's out of the bag then...?" Zack would say with a chuckle. "Well, whatever. Name's Zack Shadowheart, good to meet you kids. We'll be seeing a lot of each other for the next few months." Giving them a casual salute with two fingers, he would walk over to Leo and give him a bear hug. "It's been too long little brother. You've grown these past few years. And that shot with the kark? Thing of beauty." Putting Leo down, he would step back and grin warmly. "Looks like you've become quite the lady killer, she almost seems glued to your side!" He would give the young faunus a playful wink before turning to Yoru and tossing him a small flask from his back pocket. "So, what's the plan from here? I would have to vote for continuing things on campus, I'll give you my full report there. That's all I could salvage by the way..." He would gesture to the flask with a grim expression, just in time for Duo to walk over to Yoru and belch once more, his tail wagging happily.
Yoru looked out as he heard another teacher riding an Ursa come barreling into the clearing and readied for another fight, but it was cut short by the young student. Listening to Nora both scold and praise her he would walk over and speak. "That was very brave of you lass, but remember sometimes bravery can be mistaken for foolishness. Do try to make sure that you are the former of the two, for a fool will not live long in this world. And for the rest of you you should of ran like I said, especially you Leo. Your skills are not enough to take on one of those Grimm alone yet. But again as with Lillian here you show initiative as a leader so I can't fault you for that, that was very risky of you and I saw a fire in your eyes that showed you would protect your fellow students and for that I say congratulations.
Now I guess real introductions are in order. I am Yoru Burakkudaria, your headmaster here at Beacon academy and yes Lance I think returning to the school would be a great idea. I leave y'all to get back there on your own the teachers and I will be watching know that, consider it the final part of your initiation."
He smiled as he caught the flask and pocketed it before responding. "I did I didn't think Duo here could get on top of my bookcase but no matter good to have you back mates. Shall we return to the school then?" He would walk over and pull Chrissy towards the other two teachers and place her arm on his shoulder and placed his own gauntleted hands on the other two. Making sure Duo was on his masters usual perch he began to channel his Semblance and soon the shadows began to swarm them. As they began to sink into them he would call out. "There's a cave about ten minutes walk to y'alls left it leads back towards the school, I expect y'all to be in the assembly hall within the hour. Have fun." With that they were gone back at the school in the assembly hall.
