Roan (pronounced ROH-ann). Roan effusively exudes love and joy to everyone. Content, self-pleased, and a lover of music, Roan makes friends easily. With an angelic voice and prodigal skill with instruments,he seems genuinely casual about his great talent. With the carefree ease of a child, Roan's glowing attitude and increasing beauty and charm seem completely lost on him. Perhaps in time, his guileless nature will become wise to the effect he has on those around him.

Positive Traits

gaia_nitemareleft Energetic. Roan has an immense amount of joie du vivre. He is happy to be alive, to express himself and to absorb the wonders of the world. It charges him with energy and makes him a happy little sunbeam.
gaia_nitemareleft Charming. Roan has a very warm personality and a huge heart. He eagerly and genuinely draws all those around him into his circle and holds them close. It lends to a natural charisma that seems to make friends quickly.
gaia_nitemareleft Affectionate. Roan is a very touchy-feely person, and he likes to be close, to touch as a method of expressing himself, his emotions, and his enjoyment. He does it entirely without thinking, so others may need to point out if he is invading personal space.
gaia_nitemareleft Expressive. Roan wears his heart on his sleeve, and gives willingly of his enthusiasm, opinions, and interests. His expressions are very mobile, and he tends to gesticulate when he talks. He is a performer by nature, and his honesty combines to make Roan an open book.

gaia_nitemareleft Exaggerating. Theatricality comes second-nature, so sometimes Roan can get a bit carried away in recounting stories. For affect, naturally, but numbers can increase exponentially with each retelling, and time can get strangely distorted. Uphill, both ways! Whatever make a yarn more entertaining.
gaia_nitemareleft Self-Absorbed. Roan is possessed of a child-like sense of self-absorption. He honestly doesn't mean to be selfish, and certainly isn't callous, but he tends to talk about himself a lot, to yearn for a spotlight, to hog time, to put himself first in line even if it accidentally leaves a friend behind.
gaia_nitemareleft Show-boater. Roan does so love a spotlight. He has considerable skill, and a fair sense of humour, and when the opportunity arrises for him to put on a show or be the centre of attention, he tends to show off. Whether it's making a challenging Aria even more tricky just to show that he can, or hamming up a bit of slapstick, Roan lives for the applause.
gaia_nitemareleft Flippant. Because Roan is so cheerful and innocent, he simply can't wrap his head around sadness or cruelty. When others have problems, he tends to gloss over them, or downplay the impact of bad stimulus. It's not that he doesn't care, but that he can't really understand that headspace or pain, and so he avoids it like the plague.
gaia_nitemareleft Vain. Roan is stunningly beautiful. And, yes, he knows. But he's always extremely happy when other people notice too. It's not stemming from a place of arrogance, merely another tool for him to use to garner attention (and as he grows older, adoration).



Enjoys

gaia_nitemareleft Music. Roan's first and truest love is music. Singing is where he feels most alive, and he has the voice of an angel. He's also learning harp, violin, piano and tamborine.
gaia_nitemareleft Courting. While Roan is still too young to really understand the sexual side of things, he does love the sensual nature of courting. Kissing, embraces, sleeping together, sitting up and watching the sunrise with someone dear, Roan adores these things. He's not especially picky who he does them with either, so long as they too appreciate the connection.
gaia_nitemareleft Campy Old Movies. Whether they are really cheesy, or just very old-fashioned, Roan loves old movies where there is a happily ever after, a great deal of bursting into song, or a spectacular dance number. And if it has all three - an instant favourite!
gaia_nitemareleft The Spotlight. Roan feels most alive when a roomful of eyes are on him. He craves the spotlight. When he has it, he's like a little god beaming down of grateful worshippers. When he goes too long without performing, he can get moody, listless and impatient.
gaia_nitemareleft Performing. Singing is his first love, but he also loves to dance, improv, theatrical acting, and playing instruments.


Dislikes

gaia_nitemareleft Seriousness. Life is too short to be taken too seriously. Dour or stoic individuals are a sign of poor health, so far as Roan is concerned, and he will do his damndest to make them smile or laugh -- even if it's wholly inappropriate.
gaia_nitemareleft Letting Others Down. Roan's inability to comprehend sadness, combined with his love of lighting people's lives up, means that disappointing someone is the worst possible thing that could happen.
gaia_nitemareleft Rebuffed Advances. Because he is beautiful, charming, talented, and nice, Roan can't understand how anyone could not love him. When it happens, it leaves him perplexed and moody.
gaia_nitemareleft Critics. Constructive instruction is one thing, but people who make a point of nitpicking everything, of tearing others down -- especially if they themselves don't perform -- is the work of mean-spirited cowards, so far as Roan is concerned.
gaia_nitemareleft Silence. Silence is for sleep! If you are awake, you are to absorb the world! Even if your soundtrack is just birdsong or the wind in the trees, listen and enjoy! Whenever a full silence is imposed, it is an unnatural and sterile environment that makes Roan extremely uncomfortable. This means the library or test-taking are hellish forms of torment.
gaia_nitemareleft Broken Promises. Just as Roan strives not to disappoint, he also loathes being disappointed himself. Outright lying or forgetting about a date are proofs of disregard, and is soul-crushing.
