Horace mentally sorted through the pages in his head. "It's...complicated," he said, chewing on the inside of his cheek. He didn't know exactly what to tell - half of it was a jumbled mess inside his head. He hadn't had enough time to pick out the facts and smooth them out in neat lines yet. "Something to go with green eye, which is what makes the zombies and junk, too." He sighed. "So, basically, green eyed zombies and vines are intertwined. Some driving force behind em, wanting I'm not sure what. For a while, the dorms were filled with vines, too. That was fun." It wasn't. Horace shrugged. "And... about remembering, not necessarily. As far as I know, many of the people picked up were heavily unconscious, could cause memory loss. I guess." "You could ask the dude who got you."

"Man, I don't even know who got me," Micah complained. Then he had a thought. "No, wait, some guy I didn't know stopped me in the hall and said he was glad I survived. I thought that was weird but if he brought me in maybe that was what was up."

"Oooh, that could be it." He leaned towards Micah. "Do you remember what he looked like? We could find him!"

"Um - blond guy with red tips in his hair, red scarf, shorter than you, uh. There was a sun on his coat. I guess that's not a whole lot to go on," Micah finished, deflating a bit.

"It's okay," He sighed gustily. " Everyone on this island is hot." Horace gave Micah an assessing look, just because he could. "But blonde sun hunter does narrow it a bit. Plus, it should be on file somewhere who pulled you out. I could try to look it up, if you wanted?"

Micah growled a little and ate a chip. He'd noticed the high percentage of beautiful people around, but there was no way he was saying so to Horace. "Where would you even look that up?" he asked after a moment.

The growl was enough of a response to make Horace smile. It was so delightfully animalistic, he thought, and then quite studiously turned his thoughts away from that path. He took a hasty drink of his soda. "Mmm in hunter records, I'd imagine. They block out too-sensitive information, but things like names and divisions are readily available. Plus, there's this-" He raised his hand, displaying the watch on his wrist. "This can look up any hunter I meet and tell me their basics, like name and so forth. Works on everyone except those of us in death. You should get one when you rank up." He tapped a few buttons and test began to scroll across the watch. Micah Lambert. Moon division. Trainee. Room B26. Current status: Off-duty. Room B26.

Micah leaned over with interest. "Huh," he said, watching his location data scroll across the watch. "So you can find where I am whenever? Or anyone? Except Death division," he added, remembering. "Where do you get something like that?"

"Yep," he said, making spooky fingers. "Your location is no secret. It's good that we don't have too many stalkers on this island, really." Horace turned off the display with a command. "You can get it when you rank up - you gotta pay for it, of course. I feel like I got it off someone in Life labs."

Micah scowled at Horace, but it held no real anger. "I think I told you what room I'm in or I'd accuse you," he said, half a joke. "So, more reason to work and get promoted, huh. What else does it do? If it's not just a stalker tool, anyhow."

"Nah, stalking's not my thing." A strange expression passed over his face before he quickly schooled it back into a smile. "Yeah, get promoted, get cool s**t." He looked down at his watch consideringly and pressed a button. "Map." It flickered to life and displayed a diagram of the room they were in - no furniture details, just the walls and door. It zoomed out to show the hallway. Humming, Horace poked a few more buttons and scrolled through a list before selecting another. "Like this is when I was in China, mapping. See that?" He pointed to a section where the map ended. "That's when I came back. Got China, some weird island, some tunnels in the US, a forest, etc. I... did a lot of mapping stuff." He shrugged.

Micah opened his mouth to say something about the weird look, then shut it again as the moment passed. Just as well maybe. He didn't know what he'd been going to say and maybe that was creepy anyway. "That's cool," he said, and poked the watch with a curious finger. "You were mapping in China? What for? Was there something there or was it just because of maps?"

He ran a finger under the band. It'd be a weird tan line, if he was prone to tanning. Luckily, he wasn't. "Yeah, it's an expensive watch though. I ended up buying two, anyway." Horace grimaced. "There's a couple other features - like you can use a radio to talk to every hunter within 10 miles. No one uses it on the island thank god." He pressed his thumb to the center of the and the display flickered off. "For a... while, I was out gathering map data, like so hunters who go in those areas have the maps handy beforehand instead of going in blind." He'd gone a lot of places in those months, and always back to Belgium afterwards, to report. Horace would have liked to say being in Belgium made his French better, but it was still high school beginner level, which meant he knew the colors and how to curse. "Like, places with fear activity. Send in one hunter, two, just to scope out the area. Then if a threat is discovered, a full team can be sent in to wipe it out."
