Em went quiet, as if she were seriously considering it.

".....Oh for the love of Jack." Maggie smacked her face and sighed. "You're actually considering it."

"I'll admit I'm a little lazy, but I still have my dignity." She assured the ghoul with a laugh. "I would not be caught by anyone living or undead while allowing myself to be hauled around like ground mulch."

"My…feet…always hurt." She hissed out the word slowly, as if still getting used to calling them feet. As if to prove her point, she lifted one of her wide, webbed, fin-like feet to show all the raw, angry looking blisters and scrapes that covered the bottom. "Dignity's overrated." The surface world was stupid.

"Hmmm..." Maggie feigned a serious expression as she hunched over, lacing her fingers carefully together in front of her pursed lips. She mulled this conundrum over in her head, eyes dark and gloomy with thought. "Well, I suppose we could toss dignity out the window. Or ride a large animal into class. Do they allow oversized pets at school? Or maybe that friend of yours would simply carry you piggy back." She was enjoying throwing this mystery friend into trouble.

'Loud.' The thought struck Valeryk again, and he tipped his head down, raising a hand to cover the ear that was nearest to the other male. He should be accustomed to it, he supposed. His brother was probably at least as obnoxious to people who didn't know him, and the whole scene of the Academy was just bursting with a great plethora of very loud people. Still. Val's violet eyes narrowed, and he glanced in the ghost boy's direction, peeking up at him from beneath long purple lashes. "I'm less enthused about meeting you," he murmured at length. "And I do think you owe me an apology. I could've been hurt." By the vase. That you nearly dropped on me. Punk.
Oh-one (Owen? That made more sense to Val- Owen. That was a nice, normal name. Surely he could remember that) was laughing about it. Or about something, anyway. Very gratingly so. The monster boy shut his eyes on a muted whine. Val tasted the threatening flavor of bile rising against the back of his tongue, a warning. More to him than anyone else. He pursed his lips, fists bunching in his lap. Relax. Control yourself.
He swallowed thickly, and let out a quiet sigh. before reaching to busy his fingers by combing strands of hair behind his ear. Anything. He needed to do anything to fidget off the extra stress.
"My brother." This would have to be distraction enough. "My brother graduated from the Academy a couple years ago. He's not participating, of course, but he's here, in any case. And he was supposed to show me around, but..."
He ran off with some floozy.

Oh this guy was great! Oh-one... Owen... whatever name worked best... greeted the hostility with more grinning and more suitably festive cheer. “An apology?!” he said, feigning mortification (somewhat spoiled by his grin) “Aww, but why? Sure you were almost hurt by a mysteriously falling urn...” Okay, he admitted it was dangerous, but so what? “But you weren't, and you get the pleasure of my company...” That, was very definitely a joke. At the explanation, he frowned, briefly. “Wait, you got ditched... by your brother? Why would anyone leave you alone in a crowd like this?!” he said, shaking his head with some exaggeration. “Then you're really in luck that urn fell near you!” he giggled, “Ahhh, this is all so exciting!” He stretched in his chair, “But I'm bored of standing in the crowd.” Even though he wasn't really standing. Or sitting. He was floating. “Wanna go do a thing?” he asked, his tendril snaking towards Val queryingly...

Valeryk's gaze snapped back to Owen's face, a grimace setting in on his lips as he glared at the ghostly boy. Why, indeed. Owen only tried to cause him bodily harm and then started screaming in Val's ear and laughing at his misfortune. The frustration reminded him of the earlier sting he'd felt in his shin, and since he was sitting down now (though perhaps not comfortably, what with the poltergeist hovering nearby), the monster decided to have a closer look. There, half covered by the fabric of his pants, a slice in his skin, tainted a pretty bright red and slowly oozing blood. "This," Val grunted, pointing down at his leg. "Is why. You've wounded me with your carelessness. It's not fair I should suffer for your actions."
He groaned softly at the turn of subject and was struck with the notion again that Oh-one's company was decidedly not pleasurable. Val scrubbed the heel of his palm over his eye. "I don' blame him. Vaikirri is... friendly with most people. It wouldn't be right of me to keep him from spending time with old comrades." Besides, Val had only planned on sitting and staring at passerby. It's not like he was going to leave the stands or anything.
Or so he thought.
Violet irises scrutinized the floating boy again, warily eyeing him with a quiet mutter of, "'Do a thing...?'" There was no telling what Owen thought was acceptable behavior. And it wouldn't do to get in trouble with the authorities before he even began attending any classes. Still... Options were limited. "I... Suppose that would be alright," Valeryk agreed at length.
