“G’night, Zeph,” Decran said before rolling over and reaching out to turn his bedside lamp off. He didn’t close his eyes, though — at least not at first. And instead he stared out into the darkness. It had been some time before he’d had a sleepover of any sort — well before he’d come to live in the academy dorms (he’d lived at home as a freshling). Though this time it felt completely different than any sleepover he’d had as a kid. Sighing, Decran rolled, flopping out onto his back and finally forcing himself to close his eyes. If he allowed himself to think too much about the situation then he’d never get any sleep. It was better to sleep now and worry about his feelings later.
It didn’t take him long to fall asleep after he closed his eyes. Decran’s dreams were wholly uneventful and would likely be mostly foggy in his memory when he woke up in the morning. For the time being, though, he turned, reaching out blindly in his sleep and wrapped an arm around Zephry. And, somehow, in the middle of the night, Decran’s tail joined his arm in draping over the fallen.

Zephyr passed out like stone sinking to the bottom of a river as soon as he was comfortable. It was never hard for him to fall asleep, it was peeling his eyes open that made him cringe. He always felt dazed when he first woke up, even a little dizzy, and it took a few minutes for him to completely process everything. Thus, when the Fallen's body finally started making little movements and huffs, the first signs that he was starting to wake up, he wasn't aware of everything around him. He knew he was in a nice warm bed with covers that just made him want to melt back into a dream instead of open his eyes... But what was that thing in front of him? It didn't feel like a pillow... It wasn't squishy enough.
And he was pretty sure it was breathing.
"Mmn, what...?" He muttered, his head immediately leaning back in a yawn. His eyes narrowed, blinked softly, and moved lazily around the room. Hm, something wasn't right... His room looked different. Was his vision going? He squinted, wiggled his shoulders, and turned his attention to a very fluffy thing draped over his arm. Wasn't that one of those feather boa things he got from the festival? Why was it laying on top of him?
Then, he noticed the arm wrapped around him.
"Ah! Oh, Decran! Hey, hey!" He gasped, everything finally making sense. "Uh, wake up? Please? Hello?"

The urgency in Zephyr’s voice didn’t register with Decran at first. Instead, his arm tightened around the fallen and he tucked closer. “Mmm...wha…” When he took a deep breath in, Zephyr’s scent invaded his nose and he slowly became more alert. “Nnh…?” He forced his eyes open, frowning when he saw how close he was to Zephyr. Somehow, in the middle of the night, they had shifted and he’d ended up holding Zeph. “M’sorry,” Decran said on a yawn as he uncurled from Zephyr and rolled back over onto his back. “G’morning.”

Zephyr wiggled as Decran let go and straightened himself out. Though he didn't appreciate the closeness of the snuggling, he had to acknowledge that the added warmth had been nice. He'd never admit that, though, not out loud at least. He was sure that Decran would find that sort of admission to be a little odd...
The Fallen shook some stray hairs from out of his eyes, blinked, and nodded.
"Yeah, good morning. Did you sleep well?" He asked, his arm reaching up to rub at the back of his head with a laugh. "... You know, it's nice not to be woken by my roommate's stereo for a change. Not quite as... Jarring."

“Mmm…” This was Decran’s only response as he closed his eyes again and stretched his arms above his head. He yawned, again, mid stretch and then brought his hand down to scratch at his chest. He chose not to mention how they’d both woken up — him embracing the fallen — and instead pushed himself up into a lazy sitting position. He wrapped his tail around himself and absently worked at untangling a knot that had formed in his tail through the night. “Got any plans for the morning?”

Did he have plans for the morning? The Fallen furrowed his brow and glanced down. ... No, not really. Did that really matter, though? He usually didn't have a concrete plan to work with when he first woke up. His mind was too cloudy to do anything else besides think of what things he'd like to eat. Maybe Decran had more a routine than he did? He rolled his shoulders.
"Ah, uhm, no. Do you have anything you need to do?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. "I mean, we could get breakfast or make some... I don't think Beta would mind if I wasn't back to eat with him."
Honestly, Zephyr wasn't sure if Beta cared if he bathed or not in the morning, he was always busy doing other things. He'd be surprised if the Baphomet noticed that he'd been gone all night at all, too. He pursed his lips at the thought and sighed.
"Either way, we should... Get ready for the day, I guess?" He said, shrugging. "Do we even have class today? I forget."

Decran smirked, eyebrow quirking up at Zephyr’s obvious forgetfulness. “No class today, no. I’d have been out bed before now.” He gave Zephyr a small wink before continuing. “Although I was all warm and cozy. Might not of.” He didn’t give Zephyr time to form a response before crawling out of bed and heading towards the bathroom. “Breakfast was actually exactly what I was thinking about. Just...let me take a quick shower first, then you can hop in. My tail will need time to dry before we head out.”

Zephyr leaned back at the wink and scoffed. Well, yeah, he'd been warm and cozy too, but the idea of snuggling back into bed again held less weight to that of hunger. He watched Decran crawl out of bed and gave a stretch, before pausing sharply at what the Imp was saying. Shower? Really? He blushed at the thought and scrambled to think of a protest, just as Decran disappeared into the bathroom.
"But I... I don't have clothes to change into!" He gasped, probably to no avail, and flopped back against the bed with a groan. "Auuugh! If only I'd thought to bring clothes, I didn't even know I was staying over!"
There wasn't much he could do except wait for Decran to come out, and he did so with a bit of a frustrated face. He wasn't used to not being prepared, it was really embarrassing. The Fallen huffed and flexed his wings, before looking to the bathroom door as it came open again.

Decran stepped out of the bathroom, towel snuggly around his waist. He held a second towel in his hands as he used it to dry his tail. He glanced up to Zephyr and gave him a small smile. “We can always stop by your dorm and grab you something fresh. Or...you could wear something of mine? We’re about the same size, give or take a little.”

Zephyr initially looked away when Decran walked out of the bathroom but eventually forced himself to make eye contact. However, he was quickly distracted by the sheer amount of water that Decran's tail had absorbed. He thanked Nine that his feathers simply let water roll right off of them, even if it meant having to scrub at them a bit if they had dirt in between them.
He tapped his chin and shook his head at the suggestion of going back to his dorm, but blushed at the thought of borrowing more clothes from Decran. He didn't know why it was such an embarrassing idea for him, he'd be giving them back soon enough. It was just until he could get clothes from his dorm.
"Uh, if you don't mind me borrowing something. I mean, I already borrowed pajamas." He said, rubbing at the back of his head. "What do you have that you wouldn't mind me using?"

“If I minded I wouldn’t offer,” Decran said with a small shrug before abandoning his tail and moving over to his dresser. He dug out some jeans and his purple plaid shirt along with everything else Zeph would need, before moving over to Zephyr and holding them out. “Here. I’ll finish getting ready while you’re in the shower.” Decran gave him a grin as he handed over the clothes.”

Zephyr watched Decran retrieve him some clothes and paused when he saw the purple plaid shirt. It was pretty ironic that Zephyr's favorite color was purple, given the color of his wings, and anything with purple on it quickly became something he liked. He patted the clothes when they were handed to him and finally hopped off the bed, before turning to smile at Decran just outside the door.
"Be out in a minute." He said, before disappearing into the bathroom.
---
It took Zephyr just a little longer than Decran to step out of the bathroom, but only because he decided to get dressed right after drying off. He admired himself in the mirror for a moment before opening the door and flattened the plaid shirt against his chest. He had to say that it looked pretty good on him, even if admitting that was embarrassing.
"You ready?" He asked, looking to Decran. "Where do you want to go to eat?"

Decran glanced up as he finished buckling his boots. He’d donned a pair of khaki colored pants, along with a t-shirt of some kind and another of his plaid shirts. Decran gave the fallen a once over and smiled as he appreciated the look of his clothes on him. “There’s this new place in town. Some daydreams opened it recently. I’ve been wanting to try it out. Up for it?” he asked as he stood and brushed the wrinkles out of his shirt.

"Daydreams, huh?" Zephyr mused, puckering his lips. "Yeah, I'm up for it. Do you think their food is any different from ours, though?"
He didn't mind the fact that travel between Above and Below was being allowed now, it was learning to get along with all the new races that concerned him. He knew nothing about most of them, espescially the Fae and Dryads, and everything else he'd heard about the other races was only slightly better. Elves were supposed to be snobby or entitled and Goblins thought Elves were god-like or something. He was probably wrong of course, he hadn't paid any attention in class about them, and would need to meet them in person to be sure. So far, he was mainly interested in meeting Fae, because they were another race capable of flight. Plus, they kind of looked like butterflies.

Decran shrugged and moved towards the open bedroom door. “Who knows. I’m sure they have things that are different from what we eat. I kind of hope they’ve brought some of their recipes down and are serving them. I always love trying something new. It’s an adventure.” He threw Zephyr a grin as he turned and walked out of the room and moved off to grab his dorm key. He turned when Zephyr joined him and raised an eyebrow. “Your dorm first or food first?”
