Elsa was not, on the whole, a quiet or unopinionated person. In fact, quite the opposite - usually, be it as Elsa or as Levi, he was all ready to charge into any kind of fight, verbal guns blazing. But here, for once in his very sharp-tongued, aggressive life, he was silent. He bit the inside of his cheek and crossed his arms over his chest, and did not entirely hide what he was feeling - his eyes narrowed at the two Royals.

Levi Burningham had never blindly respected an authority figure in his entire life, and he was not going to start now, just because they had fancy titles and the magic to back it up. Even if Leto had brought him into the Court, so he sort of owed her for that. In a way.

And besides, what they were saying about the Negaverse rankled. No one there had yet shown him any reason to distrust them; Umber had given him quite the opposite, being open with information and willing to make a deal to get more.

Though he supposed that was of benefit to the officer, more than it had been to him. Still. He wasn't going to throw away a good thing just because some puffed up blond a*****e in a fancy top hat said not to trust the Negaverse. Blindly following other people's lead was not Elsa's style. Ever.

And what the hell counted as "Court secrets," anyway? Nothing here sounded all that new to him - conflict between the Negaverse and the Dark Mirror was well known anyway. So what, the Mirrorspace stuff? The space stuff? All that would come out on its own, especially if they ever actually made it to ******** space. There was no way he was going to promise to keep his mouth shut about that.

He was keeping his mouth shut, mostly, for Mintaka's benefit. It was pretty obvious that even if he wasn't willing to automatically respect these two, she did, and she had been good to him - a mentor, almost, and he didn't want to disappoint her.

(So he supposed there was an authority figure here he respected, even if she wasn't a Royal or whatever. But she had earned it.)

At least there was food on offer. Nobody could guarantee the burgers were kosher (which was a little disappointing, he would have liked one) but there really wasn't a way to screw up water. So he went over and grabbed a bottle, popping it open.

"Thanks," he said, addressing the Prince directly, and then he walked back over to Mintaka. "Hey, Mins, can I bum a ride home from you?" He asked. He'd have to think a lot of s**t over when he got out of here. Maybe grab Mintaka for her opinions.
