"Nae bother." Rep said with a shrug, plying Peyton with the drink she'd asked for, he was rather proud he even knew how to mix it up, neatly layering the drinks one on top of the other. Andy got his too, along with the slight sneer that went with anyone not drinking hard liquor straight.

When Andy introduced himself, Rep's jaw set and it was obvious he was gritting his teeth. "Rep." he said. "Nice tae meet you Andy."

Creedence got a nod. "Nae IDs necessary, if you are auld enough to be here, you are auld enough to drink."

Everyone else who requested a drink also found themselves served with a politeness which was almost unnerving if one knew the barman.

Again, the punked out Tinkerbell's attention drifted. She was having trouble focusing, but then that had been a problem she'd been dealing with for nearly a month now. The times she could focus her thoughts tended to lean on the painful side, so she'd stopped trying. Started to embrace the static drifting. In this case, however, it was less than helpful. Pale eyes landed on a very familiar face as he made his way from the front door to one of the booths, and the dainty Sun's jaw tensed as a linger pang of anger flared up within her chest.

She turned back abruptly, was relieved to see her drink had arrived, and eagerly poured the pretty shot over the cup of ice that had come with it. Then it was lifted up, and a long, healthy pull of the creamy liquor was downed in one. Almost immediately she felt the warm rush of alcohol, and she leaned into Andy's side, hand slipping from his so she could loop her arm around his waist, and force his up over her shoulders.

Rep had wondered off to fill more orders, which was probably for the best, all things considered, and Peyton gave a small, thoughtful hum as she looked up at the tall blonde beside her. "What do you want to do?"

Intoxicated enough, it seemed. Zeke just smirked back at him as took another long drink. He had a bit of catching up to do, not that he ever really caught up when they drank together. The Mist generally paced himself, it meant by the time they left he was in complete control of a very malleable blonde.

A glance followed the fingers as they came up to take his shoulder, and he reached out, hand circling Ever's wrist loosely. "Did she? Pretty bold, didn't think she was the type."

Melody perked right back up again. "Nice to meet you Creedence, that is an unusual name. Do you have nick names that you might prefer?" At the question of whether she was cosplaying, she looked uncertain. "Cosplay? Is that like roleplay? I do roleplay I guess. But this is not a roleplay per se, it is my weapon! He is a raum. At least that is what he tells me... I'm pretty sure he's a he."

She stopped herself and took a deep calming breath. She could tell she was getting over excited, it has truly been a while. She's been asleep and alone for a very very long time.

She then distracted herself with the uncertainty that perhaps Maebe passed out.

Felicia arrived in an easily identifiable Honey Lemon costume, if you were familiar with the source material anyway.

Her hair was straightened, and lightly bleached-- so still a few shades too dark. The helmet was a modified motorcycle helmet painted the appropriate color, the dress and vest thrifted then modified, Her turtleneck and stockings had been dyed with the cheap RIT dye you could get for like three bucks. The shoes were modified off an existing pair she had for an aborted cosplay, and sneaker heels were fortunately pretty common.

The bag was a modified leather purse-- another thrift-- decorated with a functioning decal with led light strips beneath it powered by a raspberry pi. The battery, of course, was a runestone, stuck in the purse with a spare, just in case. The prop balls were powered a similar way, with led strips running along the strap and with ping pong balls attached, their bottoms cut open to allow for the lights.

And then there were the few that worked in her hands; each one with a small runestone inside. There were only 2 or 3 of them, since...well. Precious commodities, runestones. They had actually be the most expensive part of the costume; the rest had been under fifty -- runestones, on the other hand... Well.

She didn't want to think about the parts she could have bought. The price you pay for bitching cosplay.

"R-R-REEEPPP," she cried, stomping towards him on, admittedly, wobbly legs, waving a wild arm, clutching a glowing ball. "Whatcha g-g-g-got for a drink that's super ******** fruity!"

From afar, she waved at Dawson, giving him a quizzical look. Guess no group cosplay. A head's up would have been cool and-- Oh, wait. There was Maebe, at least. She looked baller as ********, at least, and she got a wave too-- that uh, might not have been seen, given her chair-melting-scenarios.

Leslie showed up in a grim reaper outfit, complete with a mask, to at least maybe protect his identity. A little. Sort of.

Being so short narrowed the choices of who he was, though.

With black gloved hands, he texted a few people.

Ember showed up in an outfit that was a version of Morrigan from Dragon Age.

(He'd changed his mind at least three times, of course. He'd almost been a succubus, a pretty nightmare pony, or Sailor Jupiter.)

It was obviously very macguyvered, considering he was still stuck on the island. He opted to go with a bikini top for the bra, just wearing the hoodie cut to be low in the chest, high on the waist, and without any sleeves. All the jewelry cheap, bauble-like replacements, and the feathers were just pieces of cloth cut and attached to wires. He wore his normal boots, black knee high ones with buckles, instead of any replacement, and a pair of black jeans artfully distressed. He used a number of belts, attaching them with safety pins to a black miniskirt, now held securely around his waist with a hidden belt.

The hair, the green parts at least, could be painted black with temporary dye, which was floating around to be traded for given the season, and so his hair didn't clash with the rest of him.

He looked around the room, chewing on his red painted lips. Who could he bother to make friends with? Green eyes caught on the guy dressed in nothing but boxers, and the fella next to him dressed like a sexy teacher.

Uncharacteristic of his costume's character, Ember bounded up to them with a large grin.

"Hi!" he beamed, pointing at Ever. "Your costume is like, super neat." Turning to Zeke, the grin remained just as bright. "Yours too! Sexy teacher?"

Friends. Maebe The table laughed just once; a sharp, hollow sound. She'd ignored Dawson's demands to make friends, but eventually he managed to pull her out of the table and sit her down in a lump beside him. This gave her the chance to catch Felicia's entrance, and a sigh of relief left her when she saw that not everyone had abandoned the group costume idea. She returned the wave with raised eyebrows and a gesture at Dawson that said, with no words, look at this mother ******** that, at least, amused her enough to tolerate being around people for a few moments. She finally gave Melody a long, careful look, and sipped her beer while trying to figure the woman out. There was something off about her, but Maebe couldn't put her finger on it. The way she talked? Probably not, and dressing was out, because this was Halloween and that was a legitimate reason to look out of the ordinary. Maebe concluded that she was just drunk, and new people felt weird because of it.

"Uh, by the way, I don't puke." It was terribly belated, but she managed to finally parse what Dawson had told her, and finally got offended by it. "You're severely underestimating me. Somebody get me another drink."

Some fifteen minutes later:

Quote:
Text to Shitstain: No.

- - -

Given Maebe's behavior prior, it was pretty easy for him to not know about a budding friendship, though he was pleased to hear such a declaration. (And a bonus, watching Creedence fidget from praise like that. Keepin' that cool huh.)

"Sorta like roleplay?" he said, "More about the dress up, though. I got t'be Thorin once!" he added more excitedly. d"Fer a mission too!" And given Felicia's good timing: "Leesha! Damn, girl, you went all out!" He waved on back.

Said pep quickly deflated even before Maebe gestured at him. It was a bittersweet sort of moment: an appreciation for how hard both she and Felicia had worked on their costumes followed by a stroke of guilt for not being able to follow up on his own idea. Scratching his neck self-consciously, he offered a greeting smile nonetheless before grabbing a refill off a Rep, a little too distracted by his current company to make a comment on how courteous the guy suddenly seemed.

"My bad, Yer Grace," Dawson rumbled before tipping his mug back. His foot was tapping, easily unnoticed in the noise and motion. Antsy. Gotta keep everyone in the group good and content. Gotta not get anxious now. "Any y'all innnersted in some karaoke while I still got the energy fer some moves? Ya cain' roll w'Dawson Grace n' not do a tune 'r two, y'know!"

"Oh, that's cool too. Like the demon lord? Of lies and stuff?" Creedence nodded knowledgeably and didn't mention that she was familiar with the D&D boss and not like, huntery stuff. Because sometimes she remembered that some of those monsters and demons are actually, legit...real.

And that was so cool.

Rather than fangirl, Creedence finished off her drink. "No nicknames, it's fine." People invariably found some way to make them lame.

"So like...are you getting whitegirl wasted tonight?" Maebe, with her blonde hair and pink, preppy style seemed like the postergirl for that sort of thing. And in all honesty, Creedence kinda wanted to see it. "I bet you puke."

Friendship, to Creedence, was a matter of being assholes to one another without any genuine hate being there. To her, Maebe was just as much a friend in her bitter remarks as Dawson was with his kind ones. Of the two, Maebe's attitude was the more comfortably familiar.

"Not really," said the monster feigned a very very sweet smile, twisting her petite frame covered by fuzzy furs while putting both hands behind her back. Seeing the tall man bent down to give her candies, in the fact that she didn't wear platformed shoes that night, she took the advantage to hop and touched the fluffy ears with gentle quick rubs.

Achieving her goal, she was wearing a even bigger smile, almost from ear to ear. "Now you can't say I'm a good girl. By the way, what do you think of my outfit?" She asked, bright honey eyes twinkled with high expectation. "I'm dressing to be akin to my weapon, he's a Chinese mythical beast but I can't dress like he does-" Shu seemed to be blushing. With a mocking tone, the beast interrupted in her mind. "A-Anyway, I chose a Chinese style dress to wear inside a fluffy hoodie to stress the oriental perception."

After chirping about her costume, she turned to Sin. "You're a big bad wolf today, is your partner a wolfie? Like very fluffy and fuzzy, with amazing abundant furs and so." She, through the tall man, tilted and curled her body to peek at his back for a possible fluffy tail.

Melody simply smiled Maebe's way, she was conscious at least. What a first introduction that is though. She hoped next time she'd get to meet Maebe sober.

Her attention turned back to Daws curiously as she tried to understand and then articulate into words what she realized he might be indicating. "Oh. I think I get it; Costume - play?"

"I guess I do like to dress up, but not so much as other people or things. I'm just lucky Whisper was able to sum himself up in three words."

If I may, it was a lot more than three words...
His stern yet respectful voice interjected her thoughts.

She shook her head uncomfortably, "how long did it take for you guys to get used to the... well... voices in your heads?"

Was this fantasy talk though? First, Thorin and now some sort of unfamiliar lore seems to be being thrown down. She liked fantasy but was not into anything specific so had no idea anyone knew what a Raum could be. She herself is still pretty clueless and she has one in her head.

She leaned in at Creedence, eyes wide with wonder, "You know what a Raum is?"

"Oh, is that what it's meant to be." Ever smiled slowly, crookedly at Zeke, teasing and somewhat sly -- as if he hadn't recognized exactly what Zeke was supposed to be, complete with tweed patches on his elbows. He shook his head just a little bit as he refocused on Ember, for a very brief moment trying to decide if this was a girl or a boy he was talking to and, finally, deciding it didn't matter.

The long and the short was: not his type. But cute. Like Shu. He stuck them in a compartment together in the back of his mind, and then he offered a hand to shake.

"Ever, and that's Zeke, er, Ezekiel, and I don't know you. By the way, Walgreens clearance bin and you can buy your very own version of this costume."

A twitch of brows as they were joined by someone new. Someone Ezekiel didn't recognize, someone that could have been easily been male or female, resting smack dab in the middle of androgyny. Something, the Mist was sure, was deliberate. He didn't recognize who the person was meant to be dressed as, but he did recognize that effort had been taken with it, with what limited supplies they had at their disposal on island.

A wide grin cut across tanned features as he was introduced. "Well I was going for college professor, but I'll take sexy teacher." Because he wasn't vain in the least. Not even a little bit.

He waited for Ever to take the newcomer's hand, then took it himself for a shake. "Can't say as I have any idea what you're supposed to be, but the effect is pretty awesome anyways. Very fantasy." The neck of the bottle was used to gesture from head to toe, then brought up for another drink.

It had taken Micah some time to find the bar. He'd had to ask several people, and he'd gotten lost on the way, as he had no idea of the layout of the ruined town. He'd followed the most beaten path, however, and found it eventually. The lights and the decent state of repair suggested that he'd found the right place.

There were quite a few people inside, and there was nobody Micah knew, not that he knew anyone right now. He sidled over to the bar and took a stool, trying not to make eye contact with anyone. He hadn't worn a costume, because he had two changes of clothing and no idea where to get a costume; Nova had suggested a fig leaf, to go with the theme of "dress as your weapon," and he had flatly vetoed that idea.

Uncover me, she demanded again. Uncover or I scream!

"I'm not gonna roll my sleeves up," he muttered.

Uncover me! No be ashamed, I your weapon, be proud! I beautiful, show me off! When Micah didn't move to push up the sleeves of his new coat, she made good on her threat again, making shrill, inhuman sounds. Nobody else could hear her, he knew, but her shrieks were grating and painful. He gritted his teeth and waited, but she wasn't stopping.

"Okay, okay, fine," he hissed. "I'll uncover you, just. Just stop shrieking, jesus." Begrudgingly, he started rolling up the loose, too-long sleeves, up to the elbow, far enough to reveal the delicately feminine silver and green amber bracelet on his left wrist.

Nova stopped screaming immediately. Micah could feel her smug satisfaction. It was almost worse. Almost, but not quite.
