CAROUSEL - PARKER MOORE - CIVILIAN

He was surprised when the woman came up to them, given the state and and the other young man were in, but he was grateful nonetheless for her help. Maybe she would have a little more insight as to what was going on and what they were up against. Perhaps this was just a sick joke someone was trying to pull on them.

"Ariel? I'm Parker," he offered since the other two gave their names, he waited for her to finish untying them before giving her a quick look over to check for injuries, and then turning to the other young man. "I'm okay," he said to the woman, taking her hand as he pushed himself up to his feet. It was Tolliver he was concerned about; he seemed to be in shock.

"No idea," he replied to Tolliver with a shake of his head. "I'm new here, but hopefully we're still close to the city," he said, rubbing at his arms where they were left raw from being tied. "I can't imagine this is some kind of human trafficking; it doesn't appear as through were being closely guarded. And there has to be at least a few involved to get the three of us here. I doubt one person carried me or Ariel. No offense meant," he added to Tolliver, seeing as he and Ariel had a few good inches on him.

"I'm hoping this is just an early Halloween prank. Not very tasteful," Parker said with a frown, still cautious about moving away from the carousel just yet, but also keeping his guard up in case someone else approached them.

RESTAURANT - JET - NEGA

Jet stayed near the entry way, a hand covering his mouth and nose in disgust. Sure, he might be used to living in a dumpy little apartment himself, but he never let his place smell like this. This was just revolting. The corrupted senshi could get all up close and personal with those they were in charge of, but he did not sign up to lose every sense of smell he had. It was bad enough that he worked at a fast food place. This was cruel, even for him. He wanted to prove himself of course. Especially after being directed by a General to gather as many starseeds or people to corrupt as possible, but he didn't know if he could work under these conditions.

He wasn't going to apologize for where they were and he wasn't going to try and come up with some lame reason as to why they should listen to them. After all, he'd joined the Negaverse of his own accord with no provocation, so the effort they were putting into this seemed a bit much.

"We thought you had potential, so unlike others, we wanted to give you a choice," he explained after turning to take a breath of cleaner air from outside the door. "My name is Captain Jet. I've been in the Negaverse since I was fourteen. I joined after watching my brother killed in front of me -- he was in the Negaverse as well. I don't know if you've heard of the aliens or terrorists that plague the city, but they exist and they're trying to take over not just here but the entire planet. It was one of them who killed my brother," he said, wanting to get to the point so they could leave that foul smelling restaurant.

"We need human energy and life force in order to keep these aliens from other planets, these senshi, at bay. We will give you a choice. Join us and help us protect the Earth, or you will die."

SWINGS - (Lily) - (Civilian)

Lily should have done something. She knew it, pounding against the front of her head trying to get out, when Haüyne began insulting -- they spoke the truth. She knew that. But self-preservation was just as much of an instinct, a primary focus, as leave your body far, far behind so anything they do won't hurt -- so the words didn't mean anything, anymore. She heard them, she processed them: but they didn't sink any deeper.

"What's a starseed?" Her head turned to look at Olga, shoulders tensing/untensing to get rid of the pain. "I'm sorry. I'm very tired, really. I don't much want to be a bother." Dangerous, dangerous, dangerous. But maybe worth it, inasmuch as it was a solo truth. Being allowed any freedom at all in this moment was good, acceptable, and perhaps she'd see these two again sometime, if all went well and she walked out of this fairground neither killed nor a soldier for some unimaginable greater purpose.

SWINGS - OLGA - CIV

Olga grimaced, that pit of worry knotting in her stomach getting worse as the senshi solidified the idea of offing them. Man. Was this really how she was going to bite it? Because she didn't want to join these guys---she just started college and got away from home for the first time...and then decided to try and stick her nose somewhere where it shouldn't have been.

She supposed she didn't have anything worse to lose (than her life) at this point, and she looked outraged at Pyro's suggestion. "That's a lie! It's what you did to me both times I ran into you! Then another kid from your organization stuck his hand in my chest to yank my soul---I haven't been brainwashed, I've been attacked, and it's the people in white who've been saving me!" Talk of being taken to a general though---

Olga shot a frantic look at Lily. "It's your soul." She hissed with panic. "They can just plunge their hands into your chest and take it!

RESTAURANT - Amphitrite - Nega

Amphitrite kept her smile on her face, but quietly bit the inside of her cheek at Jet's speech. Yes, it had its good points - it was also a bit too to the point, if you asked her. She couldn't help but think of how she reacted to Cinnabar in captivity, one of the few more pleasant memories she had (if you could really call any of it pleasant) back then.

But she also had to support her teammate. That was a major part of working with the Negaverse too, teamwork and cooperation. "That's the long and short of it, yes, however... Captain Jet, darling, would you mind getting some water or something for them?" She at least tried to be both considerate of him and the mission; his discomfort was palpable. "I'd like to get to know them a bit if that's quite alright by you."

The corrupt senshi shifted closer to them, and flashed an especially warm smile towards the girl who was glaring at them. "You are somewhere safe, darlings. I'm sorry the conditions are less than favorable, believe me, but... these people, these terrorists you've been hearing so much about - we are the best line of defense against them. We'd been watching you for some time, you know, and we want your help to stop them. However... "

She drew a deep breath, resting her hand lightly on one of the boy's legs. "The terrorists, we gather, are targeting you for enlistment. You don't know it, but we saved you from them to bring you here. So if our ultimatum, join or die, sounds a bit much, please don't think us cruel." Amphitrite smiled again, rather sadly. It was an act of course, but it was a card she played well. "We just have the best interest of our home in mind. If you leave us and join them, then you become the enemy, the terrorist." It was such a heavy word; no one wanted to be connected with 'terrorists' after all. "That's all. - there's really nothing to it, darlings."

The dream-like memory of chaos being plunged into her starseed slipped to the forefront of her mind. "And you'd be rewarded. And treasured. And you would know that you are doing the people of your planet a service by protecting it."

The corrupt senshi rocked back on her shell hells, and deliberately made her smile more subdued, even sheepish, as she carried on, "I'm Amphitrite, by the way - reformed terrorist, at your service. Please, ask me any questions you have. We have to do what we have to do, but I don't really want to hurt anyone." From the same corrupt who'd stolen starseed after starseed on the train for research. "And you are?"

CAROUSEL - General Cinnabar - NEGA

Both men were helped up and they seemed more or less okay. They hadn't gotten roughed up too badly on the way here, which made her job a bit easier.

"Its nice to meet you, though I could wish it was in a better setting." She said as she offered them a smile, giving each a bracing squeeze to the shoulder once they were up on their feet. "As to where we are... we're still in D.C. This is an abandoned carnival. I wasn't even aware there was one, since there is that operating carnival across town. I wouldn't suggest trying to run though... this place is more heavily guarded than it appears. Its definitely not a Halloween prank, I can assure you of that."

Shifting backwards, the tall woman let her back find the side of the dancing horse behind her, its paint faded and peeling. She leaned against it, seeming to relax as she slid her hands into her front pockets.

"Its not your guys' fault, you know, that you're here." She tilted her head a little as she watched them, before glancing out at the empty carnival grounds. "Its those Terrorists, you know the ones on that documentary? The ones who've been causing all that damage to the city. Its because of them. There are people who are trying to fight back against them, but there isn't enough of them. That's why you were brought here."

ROLLER COASTER - ANNABEL MIKAEL - CIVI

Woop there it is.

Neither of the two, talking cat or hot blue woman, were doing a particularly job of trying to convince them their 'side' was the correct choice. Threatening them clearly wasn't going to help the situation either, but here they were. Empressite lacked patience; probably uncomfortable with this sort of mission, or having to deal with this many people. Possibly new to the order as well. She had something to prove, and was more volitale for it.

The talking cat, on the other hand, was far calmer. Sharp tongued, yes, but patient. How their order employed talking - scratch that - almost human looking cat people was beyond Anna's comprehension at the moment, but clearly this one was respected. Her logic was... valid, to a point, though skewed in a direction Anna associated with most unsavory groups of people. If you're worried about people running away before you can talk to them, you're generally nothing the type of group people want to be a part of anyway.

She glanced at Empressite and sighed a little. "Ya should learn a thing or two from yer kitty lady friend here 'bout PR. You're doin' an awful good job of makin' sure none of us join ya with that talk of crushin' our hearts. Besides, an aggressor who's in a hurry and impatient shows a lack a'control and power," said the short haired woman with a wolfish smile. She meant to rile Empressite up, get her to focus on her, and keep her occupied. As well, if it meant she could stir up more information without seeming interested... Could be useful. She turned her attention back to Dahlia.

"I'll listen to whacha say, provided Blue b***h keeps her hands away from us. Wouldn't want to kill off potential recruits, would ya? Then you wouldn't be any better than those terrorists you keep talkin' about." She dipped her head ever so slightly, eyes never leaving the cat lady's.

At least she'd go out with a bang, right?

RESTAURANT - Anxo DeLuna - Civillian

All in all, Anxo felt more confused than anything else given the circumstance. The reactions of the other two bound up beside him definitely made the situation feel way less intimidating. Hell, he even chuckled lightly at the girl beside him and her mention of febreeze. Thank the heavens for someone who was like him, who didn't lose a sense of humor even in such a dire situation. And now that he knew they were okay, despite being held as 'hostages' he knew he could address the elephant in the room. Or the weird powered folk.

"Wait.. Wait. Join you or die..? That sounds kinda steep, doesn't it? I mean, it's pretty obvious that there's something definitely off going on in this city, the news and the events going on about it us all the time points to some sort of mini outer space war that makes no sense at all." His nose scrunched up at the thought as he looked at the ground below him, then off to the corners where the trash was piled up at. No one would really know if he died here, would they? They did pick a good spot for all of this..

"Wouldn't it be easier to have some sort of like.. Recruitment center to attract people? And I don't think.. Ehehe.. I don't think kidnapping is the best way to sell your side. And wait.. Wasn't that whole train explosion thing you guys intentions? That doesn't really sound like saving the world, honestly.. Sounds like.. Terrorism." Perhaps he should better watch what he said in this situation. they DID say join or die. He'd much rather have his companions live longer, even if it meant letting this stupid conversation continue.

"Now, now, I did not mean to say that you're ALL bad. No one is entirely just.. Evil, you know? To put things in black and white terms is just terrible. What is the senshi reason of being here? Shouldn't we make an informed decision since right now your argument.. Well,so far it isn't very good. And I swear, that tag line is just.. Just awful. 'Join or Die'. Do you mean like.. Die.. Right now? Or die because of senshi, as you call them? And do we have to decide right now?"

RESTAURANT - Axton Finch - Civilian

Well did this just speak of longevity...

Axton kept quiet as the two that appeared to be in charge of them laid out exactly what they were there for. A job offer, if you could tall it that, considering the ultimatum that came attached to it. Join or die. There wasn't much wiggle room, and he wasn't entirely sure how much he believed the woman that stayed close to them. She was sweet, kindly, but there was something that just seemed a touch disingenuous. How much was impossible to tell.

He was saved from having to stick his neck out by the other young man tied up with them. He seemed more than eager to ask the questions his fellow captors were wondering over as well.

HAUNTED HOUSE - CAITLIN KANELOS - CIV

(( jfc I'm so sorry this is laaaate QuQ;; ))

Cat was hurting. Her body ached, and that alone was reason for her to say screw it and just not open her eyes. Yes she heard voices, but she attributed it to her TV or something. Wouldn't be the first time she fell asleep in the living room. But the cold didn't fit. Nor the aches in her body or her head.

The smell of pizza was also pretty out of place. She didn't taste any cheap sauce in her mouth, so she didn't eat any, and it wasn't like she'd order a pizza then crash before she at least had one slice.

Enough didn't make sense for her senses to finally start waking up, examining the world around her through touch, sound, and smell alone. And that didn't exactly help her situation. Or rather, make it suddenly better. Stormy eyes flickered open, wincing against the binds on her arms, on her legs. Firing quick looks around her, she kept her cussing to herself, the groggy fog of... whatever happened to her slowly dissipating in the bizarre reality of her situation. Someone said something about a haunted house.

The barely five-foot woman slowly rolled onto her back and sat up, grateful for the muscles given to her by her antics and exercising. A guy in regular clothes and two people that looked like they stepped out of period shows. Her mind flickered, recalling another costumed figure she'd met, and the hair rose on the back of her neck.

This was a bit different from an awkward chat on her fire escape with a guy in Roman armor. He never tied her up.

"....and the reason you've kidnapped us is..?" Her voice was boredom edged with brittle ice, trying to keep her pounding heart locked up under a disinterested chill. She was small. She was strong for her stature, but that didn't account for much when she was bound and on her a**. The redhead knew better than to antagonize her captors, but if she was going to be held captive or potentially killed, the scholar in her at least demanded freaking reasons.

Otherwise the art historian in her could start harassing them about their attire. Their pick.

GIFT SHOP - CAPTAIN AUROSTIBITE - NEGAVERSE

The redhead was given a briefly contemplative look, Aurostibite's gaze narrowing ever so slightly under the brim of his hat.

"We don't want any money," he said, and crouched down so that he was more level with them, one knee on the ground, the other bent so that he could rest his arm across it, his other fingers pressed into the grimy tile floor. He gave the two of them an appraising flick of his eyes, lips pressing together.

"We're looking for people who want to change the way this world works," he said quietly, simply. "You two look as though you're perfectly capable of adapting to these necessary changes."

CAROUSEL - TOLLIVER ST. JAMES - CIVILIAN

He wanted Hitch. He wanted Fritz, he wanted just to be anywhere other than where he was, feeling entirely unsteady on his feet as he swayed slightly. His companion - Parker - was saying something about it being a Halloween prank, but Tolliver was finding his voice completely lost in his throat, standing there and listening as his hands trembled violently.

At least he and Ariel seemed nice. Reassuring, all three of them in the same space and the same situation - except -

Tolliver's brow furrowed in confusion as he tried to focus on Ariel and not the monstrous carousel horses with their faded, warped paint.

"Terrorists? He repeated as an icy fear seemed to settle in his stomach. He remembered New Year's, remembered the ones in the strange uniforms, how he and Hitch and someone else had taken refuge in the bathroom to stay away from them all, how frightened he'd been then.

"Why - " Tolliver had managed to regain some of his voice back. "Why would they take us? Are they trying to use us as - as hostages or something?"

WATER RIDE - Fangite - Nega

Fangite could see the cogs turning behind the young man's eyes and he held up his hands. "I mean no harm, and again, I apologize for thi-" Wait.

Behind glasses, Fangite raised an eyebrow. "Again? What do you mean again?Where you caught in something like this before?" This time however, Fangite rolled his eyes with a huff. "How are you going to prosecute me? You don't know my name, let alone who we are. Anyone would think you're mental for even trying.

SECURITY - Iolite - Cat

"Damn it, seize in your damn rambling you ignorant creature." Iolite hissed again, taking a swipe at Maxine with a raised paw.

"We,-" she paused, an ear turning towards the General. "-would like to talk." In a sense. "There is a chance that, perhaps, you could help us with something. Even you, you shrieking excuse of a harpy." The cat turned away from Maxine, watching as Xenotime moved. "There is no ransom. Eventually you will leave this place. But for now, you remain under our care." And there they would stay until the Negaverse was done with them.

"It is as the General says. If you behave yourself, things will progress easily for both of you."

GIFT SHOP - ANDREW COLLINS/??? - CIVILIAN

His horrendously skinny frame doesn't provide much as far as intimidation goes, but he still attempts to shift in front of the kid as though to shield her from their psycho kidnapper. Look, he wasn't the knight-in-shining armor that instantly sprang to mind, but he could do his best.

The man sat stiffly when their captor kneeled before him and the girl, not trusting any of this for a second. "Change the way the world works?" He parroted, his eyes narrowed to mere slits. "What does that even mean? How do you want it to work?"

The longer they were talking, the longer they were not dying. That made him a pretty happy fellow, in all honesty. "Like, are we talking terrorism? Because this sounds ominous as hell, not gonna lie to you, buddy.
