“Now that we have learned the basics of Channeling, we will start learning about specific Spell Books. Spell Books are collections of specific magics that have been proven and approved for use. Some are useful in daily life, some are integral to specific careers, and some are highly specialized.
Today, we will learn about Aether Magic. Aether is the very energy that suffuses the universe. All magic can be said to be manifestations of the aether, but this artform focuses not on its application but in the direct manipulation of magical energy.
If you infuse something with more aether, it can become more vital, more focused. It is current magical theory that those known as 'Batteries' are born with a higher storage and replenishment of aether. But, think on what other applications direct connection with Aether could have.”

Jaret listened closely to his instructor before they released the class to try out the art form of magic. The hybrid looked at the book in front of him, reading through some of the spells inside. He took a deep breath and focus on his pencil, thinking of lifting it. To his amazement, it did lift up. It was shaky at first but once Jaret grasped the focus, he was able to hold it steady. With a smile, he thought of what he could do if he could learn to do this much better... if he practiced more. It would be sooooo much easier to make clothing! He set the pencil down with his mind, looking towards the chalk from across the room and lifting it. Another smile crossed his face, feeling a bit more cocky. Setting the chalk down, he tried to move the empty desk beside him but failed. It had felt.. heavy, even without actually lifting it with his strength. He did learn a lot from this lesson and he definitely planned to practice more.

Garet sighed. Did he really need to knuckle down on his classes? Damn. Of course, he did. His twin was ready to graduate. Meanwhile, he had put off everything to the last moment. Running a hand through his hair he tsk'd as he made his way into the room. Glancing around, he raised a brow with a considering expression.
Magic eh? Taking his seat, he rested his chin on his palm as he listened to his instructor. Humming thoughtfully, the hybrid lifted up his textbook. Energy Enhancement? Closing his eyes, he focused on his energy, as the text described. The surge of energy he felt was incredible when he felt his energy align properly. He could hear so much clearer. It startled him, the rush to his senses was incredible. Magic had more purposes than he realized.
After practice, he felt light-headed, dizzy even. Not to mention his stomach was growling loudly. Side effects? The warnings from class weren't kidding. Yet the potential of what utilizing magic more often was certainly intriguing.

Nightmare: seraph Stage: senior
Magic always fascinated Seraph. The different forms it could take and how heavily it impacted their society. So he wanted to give general magic a try. Today they were learning about aether magic. Luckily seraph didn't have any expectations going in because what happened next was a bit interesting. As he gathered energy to see what form it was going to take suddenly his senses went haywire and were way to strong. When the headache started developing he quickly stopped gathering energy. He was just glad there weren't any ghosts around because that would have been disastrous with dialed up senses.
Well it might have not gone as planned but seraph did have to admit it was pretty fun. He would definitely try magic class again.

Nightmare: Frey Stage: senior
Frey calmed his mind and focused on his magical energies. He always liked being rather diverse even if magic didn't often play into what he wanted to do for a living. So he had taken a more generic class to start out with. When he started feeling the magic he noticed his thoughts were becoming sharper and he could hear the light thrum of other thoughts in the room. He could have tried to connect with another student but he did value privacy or at least he did today. It was enough to know he could do it and gave him possibilities for the future.

Response: Soren probably should have been paying a bit more attention in class when the teacher was describing what their assignment was. As it stood, they were sitting in the middle of the class, looking around in the hopes that someone else would tip him off as to what they were doing. Mostly it looked like their classmates were just sitting with concentrated looks. A couple of them were looking in awe as things moved around, but most of them were sitting and focusing.
That was as good a hint as any, they supposed. Shifting a bit to get a bit more comfortable, Soren focused, gathering energy towards themself. They hadn't really expected anything to come out of it, but a sudden surge of energy washed into them. Their senses sharpened, as if everything was sharply focused. The brush of fabric against their skin was almost too much and the rustling noises of the other students was deafening. Sunlight was so much brighter it almost hurt their eyes to look and the slight current of air sent chills through their body. Their fingers picked up the individual whorls and grains in the desk where they rested and the sharp scent of someone's lack of hygiene buffeted their nose.
Sneezing sharply, Soren was glad when they were overwhelmed enough that it broke the spell. Maybe if they'd been expecting it, it wouldn't have been so jarring, but as it was they were left with the beginnings of a headache and their stomach was demanding food. Maybe they had enough time before their next class to grab a snack and some medicine or something to tide them over. If not they weren't sure they'd be able to focus at all.

Cyril took a deep breath and focused on trying to cast something. He knew a handful of spells, but had thought that taking a class would be a better way to get a bit more knowledge on the subject. It was a little embarrassing how few seniors there were in this class though. Cyril only counted a scant handful of them in his session. He had missed the part that said this was more for juniors than seniors.
Putting these thoughts out of his mind, he calmed himself as best he could, ignoring the whispers of thoughts that niggled at the edges of his mind. But the more he focused on trying to ignore them, the more prominent they became. How could he try any sort of spell if his mind kept making comments!
"Did you see what she's wearing? Absolutely abhorrent!" "And look at this. What sort of nightmare is this? If I didn't know better, I'd say this was one of the mythological races from above!" "Oh, but look at this one dear, their fur is so smooth!"
Cyril opened his eyes as he realized that what he was hearing wasn't in his head. Wide-eyed, he looked around the room but, he didn't see anyone actually speaking. And yet the voices had continued. They sounded like they were making their way around the room, commenting on each of the nightmares or daydreams in class. His breathing started to pick up since they were slowly making their way towards him. No matter what they had to say about him, he wouldn't be able to handle it right now.
As his concentration broke, the voices faded but it was too late for him to feel comfortable sitting there. He didn't know who they were or what had happened, but he had to leave. He wasn't sure if there was something in his expression or if the teacher could read his flashing pattern, but when he asked to leave early he was given permission. Cyril quickly gathered his things and strode from the room. Even though he couldn't hear them anymore, knowing that a couple someones was making comments about each of them had him fighting to take even breaths. He'd find a nice niche to sit in for a bit and calm down before his next class, hopefully.

Result: Georgette concentrated hard, staring at the apple placed on his desk. Slowly, ever so slowly, it began to roll around the desk, moving to the front, then the right, the left and finally to the back where it rolled off entirely, right into his hand. He held his hand out and willed the apple to fly forward across the room. He wanted to land it on the teacher’s desk, but he couldn’t quite stop it in time and it splatted against the chalk board. Whoops. He’d clean that up later at the end of class.
Georgette pulled a second apple out of his pack and set it on his desk. He started out the same as the first time, moving it around on his desk in the four cardinal directions. Then with a bit more understanding and concentration than last time, he directed it over to the teacher’s desk, where it landed with a thunk. He grinned widely, pleased with himself. He’d have to work on already moving objects later, after he’d practiced with stationary ones a bit more first.

Now, this was a class Aodh could get behind. He had always been fascinated by magic, and couldn't wait to be old enough to have his chance to practice. Aodh walked with a bit more pep to his step as he entered into his classroom. His tail swished back and forth as he went to find a spot to be comfortable to settle down and concentrate. The hybrid listened to his instructor talking about different Aether magic and ways to coax your magic to come forth. His brows furrowed in consideration as he contemplated how to begin. While he wasn't learning anything specific, familiarizing himself with the process was important.
Exhaling he closed his eyes as he concentrated trying to come up with something. Concentrating so much in fact..he felt something start in the center of his chest. Every fiber of his being felt like it was tingling for some reason. He shivered as he realized his senses felt like they were alive and on fire. His eyes widened, scooting back a little he felt like he'd moved faster than he should have. The Junior's eyes widened, this massive spike in energy and senses was incredible!
Yet he also felt how it drained his energy at the same time, it was odd really. His brows knit together, so this was what energy enhancement was like? He waved his hand, dispelling the careful blanket of energy his mind had weaved around its self. Aodh was excited to learn, and study more...maybe after a little snack. His stomach growled angrily at him.

Chandra's large purple tail swayed back and forth as the Imp entered their Magic class. This should be good~ Chandra had rather do something like this, than deal with baking..their paws didn't exactly make it easy to do something like that with all the fur. Like they really wanted to try frantically washing cookie batter out of their fur! No way! So they came in with the attitude of wanting to learn, and excel in their course.
Taking a seat, Chandra purposely put themselves a little bit away from their fellow classmates to focus on the matter at hand. Concentration was key after all, and if they were around others...they might be inclined to talk. So with this in mind, Chandra exhaled to clear their mind. Focusing on pulling magic from the very air around them, they felt something in their mind open up.
The impression of other thoughts of their fellow students made the Imp gasp softly. The sudden invasive thoughts of someone wondering about where they had left their favorite shirt made the Imp giggle. Their own thoughts sent back were along the lines of 'Were you last put it silly!" This was incredible! What if her and Elliah tried to talk like this???
Zeke was unusually excited for class today. Doing some hands on work, figuring out what sort of magic he was able to pool from his own body was a thrill. He hoped it was a skill he'd be able to use against others. His pesky "mentor" that he had as a freshling came to mind, making his lips curl up in a sneer. Yes...to be able to use magic against hi. To keep him rooted to a spot and watch him squirm.
That was what made life fun.
And since this came from Aether? He could only assume that there was an unlimited pool of magic at his disposal.
The junior sat there and concentrated on his hands, feeling the pool of energy as it filled up his palms, twirled around his fingers before it sweeped into his body. It felt like his sense of touch was made greater, the seat below him more prominent, the air that brushed against his skin more noticeable. Was it the magic?
Then the burning started. Zeke squeezed his eyes shut as he tried to ignore the pain. No such luck. It started running up his arm, up his spine. A headache started to form in the back of his head, making him lose concentration. Just what was this energy? And why did something so weird have to choose him?
