"Gany..." Vaden leveled those eyes on Ganymede. If he was going to be this child's mentor it wouldn't hurt to maybe teach the kid a thing or two about tact, but that would come with time. No one learned that skill over night, Vaden still had his own screw ups from time to time.
The caretaker shot Gany a small withering glare before looking back to Vaden. "Well, if that's what you want, then you can come by the building after dinner and fill out the paperwork." honestly they were a bit baffled as to why anyone would want Ganymede for a little sibling, but this senior seemed to be made of sterner stuff than they'd first thought, so maybe they'd survive.
"I'll be there promptly." Vaden said standing up and nodding to the caretaker, then looking back at Gany. "I'll see you in a little bit. Try not to cause too much trouble?" He smiled, leaned down to pat Gany on the shoulder then walked off towards the other side of the cafeteria to wait his turn with the other elder students, hands loosely clasped behind his back, shoulders back, chin up, and an audible click of his shoes with each step.

Gany glanced up at Vaden, shooting him their best attempt at an innocent 'whaaaaaat?' sort of expression. As far as they were concerned, the caretaker had earned that bratty remark. "No promises but okay." They shrugged, watching him go.
For the time being they thought nothing of his posture, other than that it was somehow different from how he'd been earlier that night. With another shrug to themself, they joined the exasperated caretaker in returning to their group for dinner.

Dinner was at least not as bad as it could have been, but it wasn't spectacular either. Vaden finished and bused his tray, he glanced over to where Ganymede's group had been sitting and found the tables now empty. That was fine. He left the cafeteria and considered going straight to the Freshling building but decided to go get something from his dorm first. He trotted up the stairs to his room, and got something from the closet and put it in a little satchel before leaving. He'd been rather focused on the task and didn't even notice his roommates questions as to where he was going.
Outside he glanced up at the evening sky, the early stars were out, and it looked to be a good night for star gazing if you were into that sort of thing. He hurried along to his appointment and let himself in the building and made his way to the caretaker's office. He came in and saw Gany perched in a chair.
"Here you are." the caretaker said sliding a paper over to Vaden as he entered. "This lists out the rules and what you're allowed. Overnight visits are acceptable as long as the Freshling isn't signed out for longer than 36 hours at a time. You're allowed to take them off campus provided you've filed a slip in the admin building..." they continued on and Vaden absently listened as he read the rules himself and nodded.
"This is all acceptable." he said and plucked a pen off the desk and signed his name with a flourish. "There, it's done." he said looking over at Ganymede. "We are now siblings." he paused and then reached into his bag and slowly pulled out the item from his room. "I uh...brought this for you...I won it during the Headmaster's welcome party and well, I...well I thought you might like it." he stammered offering out the purple vespercat plush to the Freshling.

Ganymede was not particularly a fan of the night's dinner, so it took them forever to actually finish it, with much prodding from their caretaker to eat the last of their vegetables. Once done, they returned with their caretaker, somehow managing to keep their mouth shut the entire time. They decided that it'd be better to keep their comments to themself just in case the caretaker decided they shouldn't go through with the Big Sibling program or something. They weren't even sure if that was a thing, but still, it wasn't worth the risk.
They settled onto the chair in the office to wait for Vaden, just staring intently at the caretaker. The poor thing eventually became so unnerved they began to fidget with the things on their desk until Vaden arrived to save them from their temporary discomfort. Gany watched as Vaden filled everything out, mildly interested in the rules but found them to be mostly needless.
"For me?" They stared at the vespercat plush, blinking in surprise. It wasn't like they hadn't received gifts before, but this seemed different. They reached out and took it from him, then cradled it in their arms and smiled a bit. "Thank you, I like it a lot. Purple is a good color." To that they grinned wider, of course purple was a good color, they were very purple and so was Vaden.

Vaden nodded and watched as Ganymede took the toy and cradled it in his arms. "I'm glad you like them. They deserve to be somewhere they'll be loved instead of in my closet." he said, then chuckled. "Yes, it is a good color indeed." he smiled at the freshling.
He looked at his watch. "Well, it's getting late, and I have homework to do. I'll be by tomorrow after class and we can hang out for a bit, and maybe if you're good we'll go get some ice cream this weekend." he said offering a bribe. It seemed the most logical way to entice Gany into behaving. "Night." he waved and then headed back to his building to work on his unfinished assignments.

Gany nodded, and then slid off of their chair. "If I'm good you'll take me off campus to get food??" They quirked a brow, perking up. "I think I can manage that! G'night!" They waved after Vaden, then headed back to their room with their caretaker for the night.
