[[ Joe : The Dark Path : Station of Awakening ]] Joe sighed as the shield faded from his hands. He didn’t exactly feel the best about giving it up, but it was what it was. He didn’t need something that passive in his life. Not now anyway. As soon as the pillars descended into the earth he felt something click inside him, as if someone had flipped a switch. All of a sudden he was aware of everything. He knew he could roar with such ferocity that it could blow others away. He knew that he could make himself move as fast as a great hunter with a thought. He knew that he could make his weapon even mightier with arcane knowledge, imbuing it with primal forces of searing flames and biting cold. These abilities had always been there inside him, waiting to be let out. And now that they were, it felt amazing. Summoning his sword with a flick of his wrist Joe examined the blade, wondering what he should try out first. Would he be obvious and chose flame? Or perhaps cold was more his style? Perhaps lightning… Joe was so lost in his new abilities, he was ignoring the voice in the back of his head telling him to turn around and pay attention. He didn’t even notice the creature behind him until it had already lunged at him, claws bared. Pivoting, Joe realized that he had left himself completely open. It wasn’t a matter of if the creature would hit him, but how bad the blow would be. Thinking fast, Joe raised up his blade in a hanging guard and uttered a single word. “Is.”
And instantly, the sword was covered in a biting frost. He knew this would not help completely, but it would at least mitigate the damage. The creatures claws hit their mark. It wasn't as bad as it could have been, but somehow they still manages to reach past his guard and cleave into his torso. Joe jumped back, seething. This thing had hurt him. Even with all his new powers, it still hurt him. He tightened his grip on his sword and growled. If this thing wanted to fight, fine. He would give the creature what it wanted. Show it what a trained fighter could do against a mindless beast. Without hesitation, Joe lunged forward and brought his blade down on to the shadow's neck, hoping to end this in one clean blow. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [[GM Notes: Runic Weapon: Is has been cast.]] Joe's Weapon Defense: 32 (0+10+10+12) Crit Damage Done: 10 Current HP: 90/100 Attack Roll: 39 (0+10+10+19) (Word Count: 401)

Luna - Station of Awakening - Dark PathThe shield vanished from her grip just as the sword had before it. With her choices finalized, Luna almost immediately began to experience a strange sensation all throughout her body. She felt lighter, tougher, stronger, and yet the strangest thing was the fact that she felt like she was standing both wherever she looked and where she currently was. While the last would bit would definitely take some getting used to, everything else was just fantastic. She bounced up and down in place, throwing punches at invisible enemies much faster than she ever could have done before; her newfound strength entertaining and bringing delight to the young woman. "Why the hell would I ever want to wake up from this!? Hell, this isn't even a dream, can't be! This is waaaaay too real!" She giggled at herself, experimenting with kicks and spins and all sorts of other maneuvers as they came to her brain, completely having a blast.
You are now aware of your abilities.
"Hm? Abilities?"
Red and black mist shot out all around her at that comment, swirling around Luna impossibly at the lack of wind on the station. Her eyes widened at the realization that the mist was coming from her body and not from the platform or something else. It was a part of her power, but didn't seem to have any particular purpose beyond looking fabulous, which she was completely okay with. A quick gesture later and the mist had flowed right back into her body, causing no outward or inward change to her whatsoever. Her feeling of being in two different places was also explained when moments later, she vanished and teleported to another location a few feet away, the red and black mist from earlier appearing and vanishing when she did so.
Luna had embraced the power given to her without complaint and little thought on the matter. She was so much better now, what reason could there possibly be to not enjoy the feeling of strength flowing through her entire body. She could freaking teleport and summon a weapon at will now, all of this was just filling her with hype to a degree she had never felt before. Her right hand reached out in front of her and began pulling to one side, summoning her weapon in a way that was so impossibly natural and instinctive to her, it felt like she had been doing this for years. The weapon materialized bit by bit as she pulled out of a red colored portal in front of her, revealing the blade that represented her.
Her weapon's grip was large, clearly designed o be held with two hands, yet as she continued pulling it out of the portal, she came to realize that her weapon was damaged, well-worn, chipped, and missing pieces of the blade on both sides where a reddish glow surrounds each missing portion. Expecting to pull out an entire damaged Zweihander, Luna was more than a little confused when the top third or so of the blade was completely missing, leaving a jagged top on one side still fit for stabbing, but with the entire weapon fitting just beyond a typical Longsword's size.
"A blade mirrors its owner...I guess."
She let out a sigh and spun the blade around in her hand rather effortlessly, not surprised in the least that she was able to swing such a heavy weapon with her newfound strength. "At least it feels nice in my hand, wonder where the rest of it is?" Luna questioned no one in particular as she looked up from her damaged blade, trying to ignore what it meant to her where she took notice of the swirling black and purple shadow lingering where the last pedestal holding the weapons had disappeared.
She knew what that meant.
A small Shadow Heartless came into being at the spot she was staring at. They were the weakest of the Heartless yet probably strong enough to take out an unarmed civilian, fortunately she was not an unarmed civilian and was several years older and much larger than Sora when he first set out. It was no danger to her alone, only in large packs would they pose a potential threat. Luna adopted a combat ready position as the Heartless bobbed back and forth before taking notice of her and lunging at the young woman with its tiny claws. Luna backhanded the Heartless's claws away from her as it leaped towards her face to strike, further elevating the tiny creature into the air before vanishing in the same red and black mist she had demonstrated before, several raven feathers falling from where she once was.
"Bye now." Luna's blade glowed red as she reappeared behind the Heartless, the tiny monster still in midair whilst she attempted to impale it on the end of her broken blade.

[ Joseph | Station of Awakening ]
The weapon knocked against the shadow's head, and launched it into the air. As it fell back down, it attempted to claw at any part of Joseph that was within reach, flailing in a somewhat comical manner. _____________________________________________________________

The blow fell on the shadow's neck as intended, but it wasn't quite defeated. Clearly hurt, it immediately sunk back into the ground, leaving a pool of blackness to indicate its presence. Now under the ground, it moves much more quickly, always positioning itself as close to Joe as possible, no matter where he may move. _____________________________________________________________
Damage to heartless: 39 - 22 = 17 The shadow is charging an attack.
[ Luna | Station of Awakening -> Station of Reflection ]
The heartless turned to ash before it had time to attack a second time. It wasn't even able to turn around to face Luna before it was defeated.
Without warning, the station shatters. The only sight as you fall is a pillar below you, the shattered remains of the station above, and blackness all around.
You land on the pillar below without injury. It is a single surface, without the defining lines of a mosaic or stained glass piece. This one holds an image of a desert landscape. If you look at it long enough, the desert image shimmers, and you may be able to make out more shapes and images. Each step you take causes the surface to ripple. The ripples stop when you stop, and the surface clears once again when the ripples reach the edge of the platform and disappear.
Around the edges of the platform are eight glowing numbers, evenly spaced. The numbers are 2, 3, 5, 8, 11, 13, 17, 19. _______________________________________________________________
Damage done to heartless: 48 - 23 = 25 / defeated

[Joseph: Station of Awakening]
The male noticed the flailing as it was sent up and away. He assumed it didn't expect that kind of attack, not that it was still trying to attack. But really, in the end, it didn't matter to the male.
He pulled the staff back, both hands tightly gripped on the shaft. Then he stepped forward on his left foot, and swung with all his might, his body twisting with the swing.
He was aiming for that Home Run, to send the little jerk flying after scratching him.

The shadow was unable to scratch Joseph as it fell. Instead, it was set up and hit like a baseball. Now a little distance from him, and nearly dead, the creature sinks into he ground, turning into a menacing black puddle. It approaches Joseph quickly, always attempting to stay near him, but for now it remains untouchable in the floor. _____________________________________________________________

The male chewed on the inside of his cheek as the thing sunk into the ground. He hadn't realized these things were so resilient...then again, it wasn't like he chose strength, either...that sword would've been very helpful at the moment. But, alas, he made his choice.
Still, he knew the thing was about to come at him. It had to have, considering it hadn't fled. So he readied his staff in defense, in case the thing decided to move faster than he could attack.

The male backstepped, staff pointed at the ground to keep the shadow from coming too close to him by literally holding it back. Except he wasn't exactly quick enough, one of the claws stinging into shin, a faint line of red beneath the hair.
And Joe brought the staff down on the creature's head. "No. Bad dog." He didn't sound very happy, either.

[[ Joe : Station of Awakening ]] Joe growled in frustration as the thing sunk into the earth. Wounded, but not yet beaten, it crawled into the floor of the platform and skittered like an insect, waiting for an opening. Joe knew that he couldn't touch the creature as it was now so he sunk into a defensive posture and waited for the creature to make it's next move, eager to counter and end this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Runic weapon Is cast (2/3) Charging: Defense

[Joseph: Station of Awakening] Joseph, frankly, thought he had hit the thing hard enough to finish it, considering how hard he had hit it before. Apparently, he was wrong, judging from the deep scratches in his thigh as blood trickled down his leg. "Sunnuvabitch!"He swung his staff down on the thing's head once more, one handed this time, while the free hand went to his thigh, touching the blood and then drawing an 'ᚷ' on his left side. The motions were quick, ingrained in his very soul thanks to his sudden abilities. The blood seemed to dry instantly, leaving a reddish brown ᚷ on his side as the magic of the rune activated. Well, it was on standby. It would only kick in if he was in extreme danger. But still, it made the male a little more confident. ------------------------ Def: 18 Damage taken: 7 HP: 85/100 Attack: 20 Current Runes:

[[ Joe : Station of Awakening ]] Joe had his eyes trained on the shadow as it lashed out at him with pent up energy. This time, he was prepared for the creature and angled his blade into a low guard, letting its' strike glide harmlessly off his blade. Knowing it was off guard, Joe took his chance and hew up, hoping that this time, his blow would be decisive. In case it wasn't, Joe began to charge another runic weapon as a contingency. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Runic Weapon Is Cast (3/3, Last turn) Defense: 16+ (10+10+10)= 46 vs 35. [Joseph: Station of Awakening] Once again, the heartless scratched Joseph, this time getting his other arm. With a swear, the male swung out wildly, desperate. Why wasn't this thing dying? Why was he still getting attacked? Why in the hell was he feeling like he was dealing with a very, very angry cat? But, his wild swing finally got him to notice something. The bottom of the staff had a sharp point. Sharp enough that Joseph finally had an idea. He moved quick, the point scraping against the mosaic on the platform. In a split second, there was suddenly a "ᛊ" etched into the ground in front of him. It was a little on the rough side, and a bit smaller than he wanted, but he could even feel the magic 'activate'. And he took a step onto it. It shouldn't hurt him, but if that thing was close enough, perhaps it would finally be able to kill the thing in a jet of flames. ----------------------------- Def:15 Damage Taken: 3 HP: 82/100 Attack: 13 Current Runes:
