Being held by him really was nice. Fiona grabbed a leaf that landed on Maxwell's arm, dropping it in the water. When she looked back at him their eyes met. What was that look he was giving her? Her heart picked up pace, and before she realized it he was kissing her. He seemed to come into her life and totally change it. Now he was making her grow attached to him, something she wasn't planning on doing. Fiona wasn't sure what to do, but she knew she didn't want to pull away. Her hand found its way to the back of his head, her fingers gently playing with his hair. After a moment she broke the kiss, staying put. What was she suppose to say? "Well...that wasn't expected." She had thought he had someone he was with. Why wouldn't she? Didn't a lot of girls think he was attractive? She knew she did. Maybe he hadn't found someone he could be honest with.

Maxwell kissed her, enjoying it. When she pulled away and looked at him all his senses and reason came flooding back to him. He couldn't just kiss her like that, he was taking her in and taking care of her. Of course she would be grateful, but he wouldn't take advantage of that fact. He just looked at her, concern growing heaving on his face, his brows furrow ing together. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." He reasoned quickly. "It was rude and careless of me." He said. He was floundering for words, he never floundered. Finally the maid called out, saying lunch was ready. Maxwell quickly walked to the side of the pool, setting her on the edge before he climbed out easily from the side. Grabbing a towel for himself he started to dry off before passing her a towel as well. Shifting his weight he started to head over to the covered outdoor table he had for just this purpose. He toweled himself off some more before sitting at his place, waiting for Fiona, feeling ashamed of himself.

The sudden shift in Max's attitude confused Fiona. Had she done something wrong? When he got out of the pool she stayed put where she was, not sure what to think. She got up and wrapped the towel around herself, knowing she couldn't be near him right now. A maid started to come out with the food, and she quickly spoke to her. "I'm actually not feeling too well. I'll have my food in my room." When she went to take it the woman let her know she'd bring it to her. She excused herself and went to her room, taking a quick shower and putting her other clothes back on. The maid brought her the food which she ate slowly. Right now she didn't even have much of an appetite. Why did he think he had been rude? He probably just regretted kissing her, and that was his excuse. Fiona took her dishes to the kitchen and then went back to her room, falling asleep for a while. When she woke up it was dark out, and a maid was knocking on her door. Dinner was ready, and she had brought it to her. After eating, she started to suit up to go for a run. Maybe she'd break into a house just for fun. She waited for a bit, not wanting to upset her stomach. Finally, she was ready to go. She walked out of her room, wanting to get out as soon as she could.

Maxwell watched her leave and cursed himself. Now he had kissed her, and now she didn't even want to be near him. He grumbled as he ate, and then went and did some work in his offuce, distracted the entire time by thoughts of her. Then he shook his head once more, trying to think of something other than her. He thought to say he was sorry at dinner, but she didn't come. Frustrated he went upstairs and changed into his black clothes and then came out into the hallway, ready to go on a run. Deep in thiught, he didn't watch where he was going and bumped into Fiona. He stopped, but grabbed her arms gently so she wouldn't fall. When he noticed her clothes he smiled and almost laughed. It seemed they had the same idea. He motioned her to follow and then lead her on a rather long run, knowing she could handle it. They kept an even pace, both jogging in silence. He thought the entire time how beautiful she looked, even in running clothes. He couldn't help himself, she was so refreshing, why wouldn't he want to kiss her? Shaking his head he stopped, in a shadowy spot and looked at her. "Oh hell." He muttered before pulling her in and kissing her deeply. He wouldn't worry this time. If she didn't like the kiss she could say so

Fiona let out a little noise in surprise as she ran into Max. She had managed to catch herself, but him grabbing her arm didn't bug her. A bit hesitantly, she followed him. As they ran she thought about using her powers just to mess with him. Then she remembered the incident in the pool. There were many times where she wanted to ask him what that had been about, but what would he say? Sorry I changed my mind? I don't like you like that? It was a mistake? Those were all things she really didn't want to hear. They would make her take her things and go. No...she needed the money from the jobs they were going to do. When he suddenly stopped she did as well, noticing him shaking his head. His words made her think something was wrong, and she was ready to turn and look around. That's when he kissed her again. Fiona relaxed a bit, holding onto his shirt. Why hadn't he just come to her room and kissed her like this earlier? She continued to kiss him, her arms moving to be around his neck. When the kiss was broken she felt at a loss for words again. Somehow, she managed to speak. "Earlier...why did you apologize? You had me so confused and I didn't know what to do."

Maxwell looked down at her, his breathing heavy, her still in his arms as she spoke. "I don't know.. I just.. I thought that you might think I was trying to take advantage." he said. He looked down at her, holding her close. "I didn't want you to think you had to kiss me.. and I thought- I was holding you." he said. "You were trapped with me in the water, you couldn't get away if you wanted to." he said. He looked at her and then leaned down, kissing her lips softly before pulling away. "So.. is it alright that I kiss you?" he asked, wanting to make sure that she didn't mind his attention and affection. "I just find you so thrilling. I feel I can be myself around you because we have a similar profession and abilities and similar backgrounds." he said. "I don't have to hide anything from you. You make me feel good."

Fiona listened to him, understanding his fears. "I can see why you'd worry. You didn't need to." When he kissed her again she smiled lightly. Then he asked a ridiculous question. She simply sighed and then leaned up, kissing him a bit rougher than he had kissed her. Breaking the kiss, she smiled a bit. "It's more than alright. If you do something to upset me I'll let you know. Earlier I thought I had upset you so I didn't want to be around you. Plus, I was a bit tired." She leaned against him and put her cheek on his chest. Life was strange. "You know, if I hadn't stolen that necklace we wouldn't be here right now." It was odd to think about. Fiona looked up at him, thinking as she did. She was very interested in getting to know Max better, and she hoped their relationship would continue to grow. It seemed like a perfect fit. At least so far.

Maxwell thought his knees would go weak when she finally answered him with another kiss. She had no idea what she was doing to him. He held her close when she finally broke away and smiled into her hair, loving the smell of her. "I'm glad you stole it." He whispered. "I would never have been able to help you otherwise." He said softly. Looking down at her he smiled and pointed. "Race you?" He asked, giving her one last kiss before he took off. He knew it was like cheating but he was so happy that he needed to run. "Winner gets a kiss." He called back in a joking manner. That was a gift he would enjoy even if he lost. Running he heard her, and knew she was a fast runner, now he would see how fast.

Fiona smiled and looked to where he pointed. She watched him take off, frowning playfully. "Not fair!" So this was how he wanted to be? She started to run, jumping from one shadow to another as she did so. It made traveling so much faster, and it was good practice. Finally, she was ahead of him and just ran the rest of the way to the "finish line." When she got there she smiled and shook her head. "And this is why you never cheat. I'll still win." She sighed and then felt a drop of rain hit her nose. Fiona looked up and felt some more rain, pouting a bit at the sky. "We should get back." She wanted to say they should get back home, but was that what she would call it? Taking his hand, she smiled and wiped a rain drop from his cheek.

Maxwell sensed the moment she used her powers, smiling. The little cheat. When he watched her cross the finish line he grinned and pulled her close by her hips. "Well look at that you won." He pulled her hips closer to his own, pressing against her. When she mentioned the rain he grinned, still holding her hips to his. When she brushed the rain drop off his cheek he smiled, watching a drop of rain follow over her cheek and get stuck in the corner of her mouth. It was like the raindrop was begging to be kissed away. Holding her by her hips still, he leaned down and kissed the corner of her mouth, gently moving over until his lips were fully on hers. As he kissed her the rain started to come down more quickly. He slowly pulled back from her and smiled, looking up and closing his eyes, letting the rain pummel him. Then he looked down at her and started to run with her back home. By the time they got home they were both soaked. He laughed and held her close while they ran inside. He held her close and then looked down at her, his eyes happy and alive for once, but there was a fire there, something that was only there when he looked at her.

Fiona gasped quietly when he pulled her hips to his. She could feel her heart go a little faster, but ignored it. Her eyes closed when he kissed the corner of her mouth, happy that he ended up moving to her lips. She held onto him, not minding the rain. When he pulled back and looked up she smiled, happy that he seemed so relaxed. She took his hand and started to run with him, knowing she'd need to change when they got back. When they got home she laughed lightly and was happy to have him hold her. There was something about his eyes that seemed so different. "I'm going to get changed. Want to meet in the living room? I was thinking we could have tea or something." She really wanted to spend more time with him now that he was so calm. Fiona was shivering lightly, the rain getting to her. It wasn't too warm out and the rain only made it seem colder. She thought about holding onto him more, but their wet clothes would still be there. Changing was the only option she had.

When they were finally back home he smiled at her when she mentioned getting changed. "Yeah.. we should." he said. He made no move to let her go yet though. When she shivered he pulled her close and kissed her. "Alright.. go change and maybe we can have some tea." he said, a smirk on his face. He grinned and then kissed her cheek before heading up to his room. He changed, and dried off, making sure to change into a pair of sweats and a t-shirt to keep himself warm. He went out of the hallway and headed down to the living room. He ordered some tea be made, and then had some snack food be brought out as well. He flopped down onto the couch, in the comfortable L of the large sectional sofa.

Fiona smiled when he pulled her closer, leaning against him as he spoke. "Okay. I'll meet you there." She went to her room and got changed, putting on some shorts and a tank top. Over that, she put on her warm robe he had gotten her. She knew she would get warm soon enough so putting on warm clothes would be a bit stupid for her. After drying her hair she went out to the living room, heading over to the couch. She sat down a little bit away from Max, not wanting him to feel like she was forcing him to be close. Fiona rubbed her hands together, finding that they were the coldest part of her. "This is still crazy to me. So much has changed in such a short amount of time...Did I ever really thank you?" Her eyes went to him, hoping she had. "If not, thank you. This all means a lot to me." Only one other person had taken her in and tried to make her life better.

Maxwell smiled at her and watched her settle on the couch. When he saw her rub her hands he reached over and pulled her closer to him, rubbing her hands gently between his own. "You don't have to thank me. But you're welcome." he sai with a smile. He rubbed her hands some more and then leaned over and kissed her lightly. "Thank you.. for coming.. for.. showing me I wasn't alone." he said lightly. He grinned and rubbed her hands and then breathed on them, trying to warm them up, pulling her closer to him.

Fiona smiled when he pulled her closer, looking up at him right before he kissed her. "Of course you're not alone. Even if what ever we have doesn't work out, I'll always be here for you." She took one of her hands and put it on his cheek, looking at him for a moment. "You're...you're amazing. I still feel like this whole thing is a dream. I feel like I'm really in prison after the attack on Marco's, and soon I'll wake up." It made sense. It wasn't like a prison would be able to keep her, but that wasn't what she didn't like. Finding out that she didn't have Max in her life would hurt. Fiona put her hand back in his, wanting the warmth back. "I can go get us some tea. I know it's late and most of the staff is asleep."
