This was comfortable, his brain was in a fog as he fell asleep. Why was he falling asleep like this? He should be awake, but then he was used to sleeping during the day. Maybe that was why, granted it was late during the day.
Oh well, it didn't matter either way. Sleep washed over him and he dropped his long tail to the ground.

Hinotama continued to groom Zakiya's fur the ebst as he could he had gotten much practice on himself because he just hated his fur dirty..
" Is Korou sleeping? "
He asked a little more silent the usual to not wake him up. He then tried to rest a little himself because that would probably be good so he had more strengh for later..

She had purred contently as Tama cleaned her fur, but stopped in order to answer his question. "Yes, he is. I imagine having a full stomach and a sense of security finally lulled him into sleep." She craned her head around to look at Hinotama. "You should probably try and get some sleep, too. We might still have a long way to travel, and you'll need your strength."

A soft purr eminated from the sleeping cub. He didn't hear the words spoken, didn't feel anything. Just his dreams, just his memories. Some of them not so good, others fairly okay.
Always, as had been proof for the past few days since his experience, the entire experience itself played out in his mind. He almost started to twitch, but then the memory dissapeared. Replaced by something else, by warmth? By happiness? He saw a bright world around him, saw Tama running around and playing with a butterfly, saw Zakiya laughing at his antics. It was just enough to make him smile.

Tama blinked with his eyes sleepy and then he yawned...maybe he was tired like Zakiya said. He cleaned her fur a little while longer and then he jumped down and layed down next to a sleeping Korou.
" Yes i actually feel sleepy too "
He cuddeld in next to Korou and licked his ear a little he seemed to be dreaming...and it didn't take many minutes for Tama to fall asleep either..and his mind drifted away into a very nice dream about Korou's leg being all ok and they could play all these funny games..

Zakiya remained as she was for a while after both cubs had fallen asleep, enjoying the stillness and the peace. She sat like this often, still as a statue, often in the shade to be better hidden from unwanted eyes, listening to the sounds all around her, finding an inner peace where memories couldn't touch her, and her worries over her brother's well being were far away. But she guessed that her brother would no longer be the dominant concern in her mind from now on, now that she had these two cubs to look after. It was seemingly going to be a lifelong thing, for she was already attached to both of them, and from their ease with her, she imagined they felt similarly about her, too.
But eventually, she slowly moved back from them and rose to her feet, watching the pair for a moment to make sure they didn't stir. Then she moved forward to the prey beast and ate her fill, quickly as she could. Next came the task of dragging dinner away, so that it didn't attract unfriendlies looking for a quick meal. This she does by gripping one of the horns in her teeth and dragging it away, backwards, in a kind of awkward run. She dragged it until the cubs began to disappear from sight and lose distinctive features, and then she left it where it was and loped back. They hadn't moved, she was glad to see, and so she settles around them once more, so that they're now pressed against her side, as she waits for them to wake.

Korou kicked in his sleep, a little ruffled by his memories and then by the sweet dream. He didn't know where it came from. Most of his dreams were nightmares, or at least the ones that he could remember were. But he'd never had a pleasant dream in all of the times that he could remember. The sad thing was that he knew he was in a dream, but he couldn't wake.
He mewled out in his sleep, panicking slighty from his inability to get out of it. He thrashed on the ground and writhed in place, his small mewls becoming more frantic as he ran in his dream. Ran through the fields that suddenly turned to torrents of water. The water drug him down into it, covering his small nose and making it hard for him to breath.
He squealed and suddenly his eyes snapped open. He immediatly rose to his small paws, his body braced low to the ground as he looked around in teary eyed panic for those that he knew he should be with. He didnt' know. He knew nothing. He saw nothing for long moments as well.

Hinotama woke up from one off Korou's kicking paws...he didn't look that happy at all and so did Korou what was wrong now? did something happend? he puffed Korou with his nose and put his tail over his back.
" Are you ok Korou? "
Korou seem to remember more what happend to him then he himself did he knew himself had been in a big storm with a lot off noise and water but he couldn't really remember anything nothing good or awful that happend before the didn't remember...but he felt ok with it a family don't have to be blood realted it is what you make out off a family that counts.

Zakiya frowned as she watched Korou's behaviour, alarmed by it. What was the matter with him? A night terror, perhaps? She'd heard those were rather nasty things to experience, although she'd never had one herself, or been around anyone who had.
She rose to her feet, moving so that she was standing directly in front of Korou. "Korou? Can you hear me?" she asks, making sure her voice is loud, the better to pentrate into his mind. It was possible it wasn't a night terror, just sleepwalking combined with a bad dream, but it looked very much like what had been described to her.

His heart pounded in his chest and the small cheetah looked around agian before his eyes settled on Zakiya. He heard her words, heard the words that Tama said, but his thoughts were with the faces and fur that had drowned in the storm, with the tree he had been stuck in, with the friends he had lost. It was too much.
Then he was looking right into Zakiya's eyes, they seemed to suck all of the terror right out of him. Leaving only immense sadness and fear. Tears welled in his eyes in embarassment for his own actions.
"I-i'm f-fine." His entire body shook as the tears fell down his dark cheeks and he turned so he could bury himself in his front paws. "I'm so-orry, Tama." His voice choked with the force of trying to speak at all.
He wanted so desperatly to turn and bury himself in Zakiya's fur, to cry it off. But he had to grow up soon, besides, she most likely would be cross about her fur getting wet from tears.

Tama blinked a little he couldn't really understand what was going trough Korou's mind he must have survived some dangerous things trough out all odds...he leaned closer towards Korou and looked at his eyes with his dark purple ones...then he bent closer and licked his eyes he didn't want him to be sad..
" You are ok Korou that was just a bad dream ok..me and Zakiya are here "
Tama smiled and started to groom Korou just to make him feel better. Sometimes it could be hard to wake up from a bad dream it usually took some time..

Zakiya settled herself into a laying position in front of Korou, stretching out a paw to gently pull him against the chest, wrapping the other around him then and leaning down to nuzzle gently against his dark fur. Did the suffering never end for this cub? It seemed that caring for him - for both of them - was going to be a bigger task than Kiya had originally thought. But instead of daunting her, that knowledge only made her more determined to accomplish this task and protect them both, to be the mother neither of them had.
"It's all right, Korou," she murmurs softly into his fur. "It was just a bad dream."

The feeling of a tongue on his fur was nice, but it was far too small to be Zakiya's, so it had to be Tama's. Nestled there against Zakiya's chest, with his friend grooming his fur, the small cheetah cub started to feel better. His shaking died down, and slowly, after what seemed like hours, his tears dried on his cheeks.
Slowly they were replaced by a rather loud purr. It eminated from him to the other two, his ears laid back lightly in comfort. It felt so nice here. Why couldn't he stay this way for the rest of his life? Did he have to move?
The answer was of course yes. He couldn't have his nose buried in Zakiya's fur forever and Tama would get tired of his overly dusty and gross fur eventually. A sigh came from him and he lifted his head so his chin rested on Zakiya's chest and he looked up at her with bi-colored eyes.

Tama groomed Korou's fur for a while then he poked him gently with one off his paws and smiled.
" You are ok now? "
He purrred too and yawned a little he felt good he had slept and ate this couldn't be better but he felt worried about Korou he didn't think he had such problems...he didn't know what to do about it either he couldn't play with him because off his lef either.
" How is the leg? any better? "
He tried to see how the wound look he really hoped it would heal soon.

She smiled softly as he looked up at her, leaning down to again clean his fur. It wasn't so much to remove dirt as it was to comfort him. It was a motherly thing to do; she remembered her own doing it, when she was a cub.
She pulled back after a moment, allowing Korou to answer Tama's questions. He leg might feel better than it did earlier, but it wasn't yet good as new. That would take a while, Kiya knew. Until then, little Korou wouldn't be able to run and play with Tama, unfortunately.
