"I kinda hoped that you would say that," Yuki replied with a soft laugh of his own.

He led the both of them past the dance floor and toward the other side of gymnasium, glimpsing the mirror that students were passing through to enter and leave. The ghost didn't look quite keen on approaching it. In fact, he might have looked a little unnerved by its presence.

"Just using the door is okay, I hope?"

[Exiting]

-------

Tanvir quietly watched Poke struggle with her costume, inwardly wondering why she bothered to wear something that was going to bother her all night. Ghouls suffered to look good, or so he'd heard, and apparently this event was no exception.

"I don't know how to dance," he said with a bit of a frown. Should he have learned? Probably. Well, he'd already failed to fill the role of prom date and the night had only just begun. Great job, Tanvir.

When his date suddenly left him standing near the door, he stared after her dumbly for a moment. It only took him a second to catch the aroma that she had, and while it was not as pungent a smell as he preferred the dragon was still eager to see what there was to eat.

So, he decided to follow Pokerus to the refreshment table.

Tanvir was very food oriented.

Astra wasn't aware Yuki didn't like mirrors, and appeared more confused by his reaction to it. She wasn't about to make him nervous though by doing something he didn't want to do.

"Yep!" She tugged him towards the exit, becoming more excited by the idea of all the games they could play

[ Exit ]

Thankfully Poke wasn't wearing anything as ghastly as a corset or a tight fitting gown like some ghouls were wearing, but the pants and shirt didn't give her much room to breathe. At least she looked pretty cool, though weather Tanvir thought so she wasn't sure. She hoped he did.

Although he didn't appear to happy at the moment, especially at the mention of dancing.

"Don't worry, I doubt half the creeple here know how to either. Including myself." It had never been a concern for her before, and it still wasn't.

Once at the table she had wasted no time in picking up a meat stick and devouring as much as possible. Also while trying to maintain some decent table manners. When Tanvir moved closer she held out another meat stick for him to take. "These are great, you should try them. They also have little wolf shaped hot dogs, and even bird filled cupcakes! Dunno how those taste though."

Li Shou made his debut in typical Li Shou fashion. His boots carried him quickly to the refreshment table, theme music humming in his head. His mother, ever vigilant for ways to spoil her child, had sent a costume for just such an occasion, with a plastic fencing sword to boot. Why she hadn't thought better than to give a nasty boil something potentially annoying was beyond any of their family at this point, but his father was sure they would hear all about it from the child's superiors.

The boil's multi-colored eyes set forth on examining each morsel meticulously to decide just what he wanted, focusing on the kabob's that were slightly... Blocked by an older... Feline? He sniffed. Yes. Feline. No problem. He would make quick work of this.

"HEY! OLD GUY!" Li Shou shouted, poking at Deacon's uncovered flesh with his plastic sword. "Move it! I want some of that!" And put on some clothes while you're at it. Jeez.

Arriving at the table in time to reach out and take the offered kabob, Tanvir murmured a thanks. He sniffed it first, briefly, and nibbled a bit of the meat. It wasn't like he was trying to be proper, either. He just didn't know if he particularly cared for it or not. It wasn't bad, he supposed, or at least one would assume so considering that he made relatively quick work of it... Just not as quick as Pokerus was devouring things.

"It seems a little bland..."

Had he ever mentioned to the ghoul that most of the meat he ate was leaning toward the rotten side?

Gazing at the rest of the things laid out, he picked up a drink that looked at least somewhat promising. It was green and at least half the time green was a promising color.

-------

Introductions with his date seemed to be going really well. It was a great start to the night, Deacon thought.

But leave it to fate to forever ******** with his happiness.

The bakeneko jolted when he felt something poke him in the back, the fur at the base of his tail bristling and his spine going rigid.

Deacon looked eye level first, imagining that some at least vaguely familiar face was going to be there. Only to find that the culprit was about a full foot shorter than he was.

He looked down to see Li Shou .

"You can ask nicely, you rude little runt."

Though, he did move out of the way, so it wasn't like the chosen method didn't still accomplish what he'd wanted.

Watching the dragon first pick at the food, Poke wondered if it was something he wasn't fond of before he began to show more interest in it. To her, there weren't many foods that she would find distasteful, especially meat.

"A little bland huh? So you like spicy food?" Apparently she was not aware of the type of meat he preferred, the ghoul glancing at the table once more for something else he might be interested in. "What about this then?" She held up a slice of pie. She doubted there would be spice in it, but hey at least it had meat.

Prom. The word held such promise for the reaper as far as experiencing and observing an interesting school ritual. She'd signed up for a blind date but had not been able to contact them once partners had been assigned. She did, however, remember to bring a sunflower so her arranged companion would recognize her. It was, with the exception of her hair, the only splash of color on her person. Not that it bothered her, she rather liked how utilitarian shades of gray could be.

The Violet, on the other hand, was feeling miffed about the whole thing. Prom was supposed to be her time to shine. All those Boodith McNaughty books (an education all on their own) promised her that all shy, awkward wallflowers would have their character arc during a big social gathering! She should be wearing a bombastic gown, poofy and glittery and loud and loaded with so much sequins she would probably tinkle with each step. Unfortunately, instincts sometimes overruled directives and she couldn't physically bring herself to purchase anything other than her current dress.

The reaper was rather glad things weren't going to her persona's plan, however. Why in Jack's bony name would she want all eyes on her? Especially when she looked the way she did now! She resisted the urge to pull her hood on because she didn't wanting to risk being recognized. The irony of going incognito with all her features exposed did not escape the Paranoia Agent.

To keep herself occupied while waiting for her date, she wandered about, shyly glancing at familiar faces but never lingering too long to make eye contact.

"Oh I think I'm good for now. I was just using it as a pass time. Deacon is it?" she filed that away for later recall. She let him eat though and took note to avoid the drinks.

"Though I might not mind a bite of yours." she leaned over, careful not to hit him with her horns and stole a bite of meat. It was rare that she ate meat, but it was good. Though she preferred the meat she was hanging on to.

"This is my first prom. Games sound fun."

"Oh don't mind him, he's just a scareling." Trisha certainly didn't mind the interruption. She was busy looking over deacon's abs. Yes he would defiantly do for a date. "Why don't we go do something else."

She was definitely plotting how she would steal a kiss by the end of the night. He was cute when his fur bristled like that, though his treatment of the child was a little less to be desired. But then again child was being rude, she would watch him. Give him a good hoof stomp if he continued to be a pest.

"cupcakes!" Carlos watched Camilia get on the slipper, that was rather impressive. he took the cupcake to match her shoe and took the shoe off handing it to her before gobbling down the sweet forgetting that there were extras to take off. Cats did not take things off their food much.

Carlos would probably be fine on the food front for a while. this was good, he would not feel tempted to nibble on his date. Not that he had had a serious temptation in a long while. He was told nomming on students led to disastrous results.

He spotted something odd. Pinocchio heads? He grabbed a piece and pulled and it kept growing and growing and growing. How long would it go? How would he get it off? He took a chomp out of the middle. that worked.

"This is good." he told Camilla quietly.

Bren chuckled as the glasses slid crookedly onto his face. For an accessory one was normally meant to see out of, these hindered his vision quite spectacularly, enough so that he stopped dancing in his distraction, not that he had been trying very hard.

"Have you gotten into the punch?" he asked in a tone that might have bordered on Dadlike had he not also been laughing. He pushed the glasses closer to his eyes and started a slow spin, looking out at the dance floor and those who had already arrived. The lenses had some sort of sparkles embedded into them, and they made everyone look—

Oh, hey! There was Ruth!

Brenley jumped to that conclusion after having only caught the back half of her in profile—blond hair, grey clothes, the right height—but when he moved a little more to the right with the intention of calling out, he saw the rest of her beyond the orange plastic frames and paused, hand held up like he was waiting to shake. That was not Ruth. First off, she had eyes. And second... well... she had eyes. What was she doing dressed like that?

He pulled off the glasses, squinting at the ghoul. This situation would require further analysis.

"Dancing," he said with forced perk and a shrug. "I'll try to try harder."

That pale splash of color got to him in only a way that Jory could. Bringing his heart from a resting slow thump to rivaling that of the music's bass. Glowing eyes narrowed a little predatory like but Zaire curbed himself, allowing only the touch of tail as his thicker one slid against Jory's.

When the slender fingers returned the squeeze the mahamba assumed the best in the Helki spotting and beamed. Aiming to avoid the other boil like the plague, it wasn't that he didn't want to see him just not here, not now. He was glad to see the wolf boil out though, a part of him getting a little more relief knowing he wasn't hermiting and wasting away.

With the question Zaire let out a low thoughtful hum, feet moving them towards the party favor table without really meaning too. When he had to stop or run into a table a glance was given to the mirror on the wall. There were people around mentioning games through the mirror and Zaire looked to Jory with a slow grin before picking up a set of plastic wolfs teeth and putting them in. "Games....or I could pull you off to a corner and test these teeth?" Zaire teased playfully snapping teeth at his boilfriend, testing the waters before adding, "the...musics ok too...so dancing..its whatever..you feel like really.." Glowing eyes softened a little as he waited for Jory to pick an option.

Oh, a pest was exactly what Li Shou would continue to be. He was quick to move in front of the kabobs as the tabby shifted out of the way, biting into the stick and glaring up at Deacon. "At least I'm not an old geezer who's so senile he forgot the other part of his costume." Li Shou honestly had no idea how old Deacon was, but the bakeneko resembled his father so he had to be like... Ancient. And yes, he was talking with his mouth full.

Being referred to as a scareling was nothing new, and he didn't feel angered by being called such. If anything, he preferred to use that to his advantage. "So how did he convince you to date him?" The small feline asked Deacon's companion. "Did he give you some of that gross old people butterscotch candy?" You know, the kind that every grandpap had in his pocket. Li Shou couldn't say he wouldn't have accepted the handout, but it wasn't worth having to spend the night with someone.

At the question of his sobriety, Ignatius cracked up. "No, see, I'm just trying to have fun," remarked Ignatius, with a click of his tongue and positively sassy posing, before that fell apart and he laughed even harder. He needed to get out his eyePhone. Piper would love to see this eventually --

The pause in Brenley's spinning stopped Ignatius' inevitable reach, and he blinked, slightly tilting his head to get a better view around the reaper. Was that Blondie? It sorta looked like her, but he didn't recall her having eyes. Well, not so much that as... Showing them, she was clearly able to see somehow, right?

Maybe she had a date.

It seemed like a perfectly logical conclusion to Ignatius, though Brenley seemed a bit more concerned. Still, he did vaguely agree to better dancing. "Good! Dancing is a good way to exercise."

He paused, before offering, "You wanna dance over there or something?" It was an offer to let Brenley get closer to Blondie over there, at least, if he was going to squint at her.

Vaith struggled not to grin as Xiu went along with his "play-date," showing Xiu the texts. He wiped a fake tear away, with an exaggerated solemn tone. "Look how popular I am." Vaith straightened his tie, that hand moving upwards to make sure of his immaculate hair.

Jotting off several texts quickly, he winked at Xiu. "Maybe I'll take him back after he takes me out for dinner. His treat of course."

The hungry ghost gave a soft snort as a few ideas came to mind, not all of them flattering.

The change in conversation was welcome. He gave her has other hand willingly, smiling down at her as she swung their hands back and forth. She was adorable, and beautiful, and desirable all at once. The perfect blend of innocence and mischief. "There will be lots of dancing," he assured her, flashing those pointy teeth in a grin.

"but we can go be social first. We do have all night." He'd spotted Hel as well, and Xiu. The latter was a friend of his fiance's that he hadn't really met yet. The boil he knew, would like to consider a friend, but hadn't seen in quite a long time.

eight

Zaire gentle nudgin got him moving, though he wasn't paying attention to where, other than that it was away from the snack table. Which was just fine with Jory. The boil didn't have much of an appetite normally, and had had even less of one lately. Besides, they'd just had dinner, the smaller boil would be set for the rest of the night.

He trailed his fingers along the edge of the favors table, looking them all over without actually picking anything up. He did give a chuckle to Zaire when he flashed him the wolf teeth, though. A hand coming up to press a curled knuckle over his lips. "Test them how?" As if he didn't know. Wolf teeth nibbles would probably tickle.

The comment at the music had the fishy boil glancing up, attention finally expanding beyond just his date and out into the room at large. He glanced around them, looking for any other dancing couples. It was still early, there still wasn't that many people there, and even less on the actual dance floor. The color drained from the afanc's cheeks as he thought about him and Zaire being one the possible center of attention, though he did want to dance. They'd taken lessons, they both enjoyed it.

Looking around again, Jory lay his free hand on Zaire's arm, leaning into his side. "Dancing soon, but maybe when it, ah, fills up a little more?" He turned baby blues upward to meet glowing ones. "Do you see any friends around you might want to say hello to?"
