Zinnia held Lenore for a long time. When she finally drew back and looked at her friend's face, she was shocked again. "Are you crying?" she asked, aghast. "Oh, Lenore." She placed one hand on either side of Lenore's neck, gently cupping her friend's face. She stared intently, brown eyes into red ones, as she spoke. "No one will hurt you or Meph ever again. I promise," she swore. "I don't know how those guys could have possibly hated you, but I love you. I'll always be here for you, for anything you need."
She seemed to slowly grow more self-conscious of the pose they were in, face to face, only inches apart. She released Lenore and looked down as her cheeks began to heat up. "U-um, well, it's not just me you'll have, you also have my team, you know, Zyk and Zebo and Shadow and Zach, especially Zarya I'm sure, w-we all love, er, care about you, a lot. Th-that's not to say you can't take care of yourself, haha! I mean, you have your own team! I mean, um..." She could feel herself shoving her foot further and further down her throat. Why was she feeling so awkward now? She'd never felt like that before.

Lenore froze up as Zin cupped her face and stared at her. For some reason, however, she didn't feel the need to look away. Rather, she seemed to want to stare back at the other girl. It was a weird feeling, foreign to her. As her cheeks reddened, she wondered why she was blushing.
Lenore felt a lump in her throat as Zin said she loved her. She wanted to say it, too, for some reason. She should say it, it wouldn't have been the first time she'd told someone she loved them. Even if it would be the second. But the chance passed her by, and she forced a smile as she wiped away the last of the tears. "And I, and my team, will be here for you. You don't have to worry about Team Rocket - we're strong. Both of us."

She smiled in relief when Lenore bailed her out. "Yeah," she said, her confidence returning. "We're strong. We've got each other. Best friends?" she asked.
