He found the conditioner and plucked it up, Chance squirting some out onto his hands and rubbing them together. He slid his fingers through Otto's hair, feeling gentle fingers against his neck, and Chance's ministrations stilled for a moment, his eyes falling down to watch Otto work.
He was quiet momentarily, and leaned to press a kiss to Otto's forehead, eyes fluttering shut briefly before Chance drew away. He touched the side of Otto's face, and then began working in his hair again, keeping his face calm in spite of the fact that his neck was very tender. But Otto's hands were gentle and soft, and Chance knew he was still concerned about it.

Chance's light kiss to the forehead made him feel a little bit lie a kid being comforted. But it was one of those things he let slide by. He knew he wasn't viewed as a child. At least not with his current company. Otto felt a little better about Chance's injury after carefully cleaning the wounds on his neck. As if he'd fixed a mistake, and washed it away. Satisfied, he moved on from it to the rest of Chance. Their bodies were both in dire need of soap. It was fortunate he'd managed to fix the damn plumbing as quickly as he had. Hopefully it stayed fixed. "Geez, you sleep in a barn or what?" He jabbed, knowing full well he had little room to talk. Otto himself had been dragged halfway across the island by a magical vine.

A child was the very last thing that Chance viewed Otto as. He gave a little snort, lifting an arm obligingly to accommodate Otto's ministrations.
"Yes, that's exactly what I've been doing for the past twenty-four hours," he said in a deadpan, feeling the warmth of the water against his aching back, the softness of the soap over his skin. It was an endless relief from the grime of their earlier fighting, and he scrubbed his fingers through Otto's hair to get the conditioner worked entirely in.
"For someone who was seized by a zombie-ish virus earlier, you seem to have come out better than expected," said Chance, running his fingers lightly over Otto's chest, where Maebe had bitten him. "Did she get you anywhere else?"

"Not really. Got a bit of a bump on the head where she head butted me. But the rest is just scrapes and bruises. I'll survive." The attack had been more emotionally bruising than physically. Otto hadn't even paid much attention to his own aches so much as he worried about Chance and Maebe's. It was a night he'd not care to remember. Normally through the use of booze. But for now, a hot shower and a movie night would do the trick.

"That headbutt was certainly something else," said Chance, a little dryly as he moved to allow the water to run over Otto's hair again, scrubbing out the rest of the conditioner - albeit a little gentler this time, now that he'd remembered the knock to his head.
He finished washing his hair and took Otto's face between his hands, smiling down at him.
"But no concussion is good," he said mildly, and kissed him lightly, water running down the sides of his face before he stepped aside and reached for the soap to mimic what Otto was doing to him.
"Sheesh. And you said I lived in a barn. What were you doing, rolling around in the hay?"

Otto's heart smiled, looking up at Chance. Simple and sweet moments that sprinkled the overall sass and otherwise prickly life Otto tended to have. A soft kiss in the shower while washing away the dirt of the world. Chance's later comment with met with a haughty shrug. "I was just out taking dirt samples." Drive by sampling by way of vine. "I'm never gunna get my clothes clean." His clothes from that day were a total write off. Ripped, bloody and dirty. Not to mention flecks of pie?

Chance shook his head and sent droplets of water spraying on the walls of the shower. It hurt his neck a little, but there was no real agony behind it, thankfully. He moved around to stand behind Otto to get the spots of dirt on his back.
"I would say get new ones, but that would cost money, and I think the island is kind of suffering from a general lack of that at present," said Chance with a sigh, running soap across Otto's shoulder blades and swiping a thumb across a small smudge of dirt on the back of his neck.
"Maybe if you scrub extra hard..."

"To be fair, I like shoppin' for clothes." He also had an abundance in funds. Not that he felt the need to broadcast it. "But I got plenty more just sittin' in the closet." Thankfully he hadn't worn anything precious that night. "So how impossible would it be to get a massage while you're back there?" Otto joked. He actually liked the feel of hands on him in general at present. A massage wasn't necessary. But knowing Chance... "I'm kidding." Save that for bath night.

"I think you also still have one of mine in your collection," said Chance in amusement. "Most of my clothes came out all right, except for a pair of jeans that I left on the floor that somehow got ripped in all of the chaos, alas...but, well, gives me an excuse to go get new things, since I hardly ever spend money, really."
A laugh escaped him, Chance's hands sliding to rest on Otto's shoulders. "Kidding or not, I can give you a small one, if you want," he said lightly, and squeezed his fingers gently against his neck, thumbs pressing against his back. "Ease some of that tension in a non-rigorous way. It's not like you don't deserve a bit of a break, after all."

"It's not yours anymore. Sorry." He was not sorry. "The clothes in my closet are fine. It's just the ones I wore to the Night of the Living Dead." Even his laundry and scattered clothing across the floor had been okay. Otto's shoulders relaxed. He was likely long overdue for a massage. Tension in every sense of the word littered his muscles. "Well, yeah. But makin' you do it n' all.." But hey, if he was obliged, then let him. Otto would find a way to repay the favour in kind. "Maybe I should get one of the massage chairs... but then if Deus get's vine whipped again, I don't wanna lose it to property-damage-zilla."

Chance snorted, water streaming across his forehead and making his bangs stick wetly to his face. But he didn't mind not getting his shirt back, especially if Otto was the one wearing it. "Yeah, sorry my a**," he said in amusement.
His thumbs pressed harder against the back of Otto's shoulders, his other fingers smoothing across the sides of his neck and part of his collar; quiet, easy gestures that applied force where necessary without, hopefully, causing any pain.
"There's such a thing as massage chairs?" Chance asked interestedly, peering around to look at Otto. "It seems kind of like a gamble with anything here, though. Might as well take the..." A pause. He was clearly trying not to laugh. "...chance to get something nice for yourself while you can, right?"

"Yeah. It ain't like hands popping out the back, but it's got these vibrator things under the cushions, I think?" He sat in one at the mall once. He remembered enjoying it. "But they're like, crazy pricy. Dunno if I wanna shell out that kind of cash." Otto heaved a long. suffering sigh. "I'd hit you if you weren't already injured." He sassed back, groaning at Chance's play on words.

"That sounds really cool, though," said Chance, attempting to picture this inside of his head. "Just think - you get home from a particularly shitty mission, step into your room, and voila, there's a nice, fat, fantastic massage chair to ease your aches and pains."
He dug his fingers into Otto's shoulders and smirked.
"Hey, to be fair," said Chance delicately, "I haven't made too many puns on my name recently, I have to make up for lost time."

"********.. yer really sellin' me on this thing." He really could use something like that to come home to. It sure beat dealing with tense muscles and sulking. Or asking Chance for one all the time. Because by God this felt good. A massage coupled with steaming hot water running down his skin. Bliss. Chance was given a long look over his shoulder. "You mean... at every chance you can get?" Zing.

"Yes, well, I'm secretly a salesman for massage chairs, didn't you know?" Chance asked in a deadpan, sliding his hands up Otto's neck and then back down to his shoulders again, carefully kneading at the tightly knotted muscles of his upper back. "Besides, I just think it's a nice gift to yourself."
The pun, however, made him stop in his motions, Chance giving Otto a Look.
"Terrible," he said, rolling his eyes, but it was hard to conceal the smile that was spreading across his face, Chance resisting the urge to give Otto's backside a teasing smack as he continued where he'd left off.
"Feeling better now?"
