It seemed like only minutes ago that he was comforting Chantal for being alone, and now, he stood there with an ever growing group of people, both young and old, and they were all talking to him. It was overwhelming.

Gabriel took a deep breath, he looking to those new members that had joined the group. One of them, the blond haired man, seemed to be on the more proper and polite end of things, though there was something about him that made Gabriel look twice. He extended a hand to him first, ice blue eyes locked on the slate gray hues. "Gabriel Westinghouse. This is my sister, Chantal." He glanced down at the young lady, he feeling all the more protective of her now that the group had grown so.

He took a moment to look at Chris as he was posed afew questions. It was good to know that he was not the only one nervous, and Chris was hiding it just about as well as he was. "I am a college student at DCU. History major, ancient societies and social interactions of the times, and such. You would be amazed how many of the things that were common place then, are taboo now. Things that you would think we had grown accustomed to..." He nervously twirled the tip of his hair around his finger, eyes glancing from Chris, to Paris, Harmony, and Alex. This, this was why he normally kept to the corners.

Chantal looked up at her older brother, her eyes slight with good humor as she touched his arm. She knew how much Gabriel hated crowds, but for the same reason, she loved to have people around. The energy that flowed off of others was contagious, and to her it was like a battery, but to Gabriel, it was draining. "Gabriel is my knight...I am a princess you know...Once, Gabriel slayed a dragon for me...it was made out of cardboard, but still...it was scary."

She turned her eyes to Lilah, she smiling and cocking her head at the girl. "You can be a princess too. From a neighboring kingdom, ok? Gabriel will fight to protect us both, there are many dragons...and they are not so nice, Lilah...we need tot find a castle to protect us...they don't do well with stone walls."

Gabriel blinked at the offer, he glancing down at Chantal, shaking his head. "My Princess, you give away my services so willingly. I am certain that Lady Lilah has many a knight that is will to fight for her, perhaps Sir Chris himself is her knight, and you would be stealing away his job?" He smirked, glancing once more to the man at his side. Perhaps Chris was not so bad after all.

Ciel could only look at the scene unfolding before her. She wasn't really sure how to feel about, and one hand it was really sweet that the brown haired boy had gotten angry on her behalf but on the other hand it was extremely stupid that he had just completely undone any of the good work she or his friend had done to stop the fight. She let out a defeated sigh when the green haired boy sung at the other, there was no stopping it this time. At least she had tried.

She was honestly a little surprised when the girl from earlier came skipping over to her. "Oh um yeah I'll be fine." She blushed when the other girl called her pretty, but it made her feel better. "Thanks! You're really pretty yourself and your dress is super cute." She said returning the girl's smile. She meant the compliment too, not only was this girl actually really cute once Ciel got a better look at her but she had good tastes. Maybe it was cause she was a cosmos knight but she had come to really appreciate people who liked space, even if that just meant they wore a space themed dress. "Oh I'm Ciel by the way." She said when she realized she had never introduced herself.

"Yeah, thanks." She said blushing a bit, she decided she didn't need to say that she wasn't interested in any of the boys here.

She looked back at the fight. "God I can't believe after all that they're fighting. Boy's can be so immature sometimes. Who do ya think will win?" Then she noticed the two women quickly making their way towards the boys. "uh-oh here comes more trouble." She said pointing to the two adults.

She shook her head at Paris. If it had been mentioned before she certainly did not remember. Harmony blushed, but managed to stop her ramblings.

She offered her hand to Gabriel, and to Chantal, politely declining the offer to play. Perhaps if she had Sarah here she would to entertain her little sister but she didn't. She studied each of them in turn and smiled warmly, feeling nice to meet new people. It had been a while since she pushed herself out of her regimented schedule just to do that.

"It's nice to meet you both."

As Alex came over she nodded her head, happy enough to see him. He looked well.

"I remember you. You thought I was my mom," she grinned. "She was supposed to be here tonight. She'll be sorry to have missed you Alexandre."

The painting he had given her a long time ago still hung in her mom and Tony's room, next to her vanity. Harmony had seen it many times before she left home to start her college adventure.

"It's nice to meet you Aiden. Any friend of Alex is a friend of mine."

'Spring Fling' sounded like an invitation to get laid.

Sadly, with the mention of proper age brackets, he realized it wasn't.

Slate stood at the entrance to the Spring Fling, dressed somewhat out-of-place with his blue and white tee and dirty-looking jeans. Hands sunk into pockets as he borrowed familiar body language and eyed the place - it certainly looked composed by volunteers. That decision came not from the quality of work, but the quality of the materials - any dance privately funded probably looked more high-end. He enjoyed the papier-mâché sunflowers, though, and absconded with one to fix to his hair. It stayed in place well enough, and he considered the streamers to accompany it briefly, but any further decoration to his hair would look obnoxious.

Upon edging further inside, a peculiar cacophony rose above the rest - the telltale challenge of boys on the brink of a brawl. It sounded fascinating enough, so Slate wandered until he edged around a couple pairs of dancers and finally took sight of the miscreants disturbing the peace. This is definitely more interesting than a regular dance. Haven't seen anyone throw down like normal people in a while. Could get fun.

"Knock his lights out!" Slate shouted over the crowd, hoping that the individuals involved could hear him. Only after he edged further toward a gathered group of minglers did he realize that one of the would-be combatants looked quite familiar.

Yes, more than just familiar.

"... Is that really the guy who spraypainted me in the face?" A pause, then Slate peered as best he could to ascertain the punk boy's identity. "s**t. Give him a reason to limp home!" Slate still hadn't washed all the black paint out of his hair and likely wouldn't. Additionally, the shirt he wore was ruined from it, and the boy didn't seem keen on compensating for that.

William entered the dance feeling like a fish out of water, this wasn't a barnyard bash or a little homeschooled event. It wasnt a bonfire, this was a real live dance with adults and children from all the school and just the city in general. He was nervous all dressed up in a vest, white button up and tie, nice jeans, even his hair was neatly combed.

When he spotted KD he smiled and headed to her as she headed to him. Even though he was nervous he was glad he came. He was never one to skirt around a new experience.

"Hey," he said grinning when she complimented him. "Thanks, you look amazing, like a spring flower. I have to admit though, this farm boy isnt very use to being this dressed up. I feel like I have so much on."

He gave a light laugh and held out an arm to KD. "The night awaits us fair maiden," he said with a little bit of a laugh.

Lilah blinked at the idea of being a princess. She was still a little too young for her games of pretend to be anything more than emulation. She didn't know how to create her own stories yet.

“I wan' be Elsa,” she announced.

Though Paris was friendly and sociable by nature, even she was becoming a little overwhelmed by the ever growing crowd. She glanced at Chris in the hopes that he might be able to offer a little help, but she knew he didn't fair as well in crowds as she did. At least he didn't seem too uncomfortable... yet.

“It's nice to meet you, Aiden,” Paris said. She looked toward Alex with a look on her face which made it seem as if she thought this guy might be more than just a friend, but she didn't bring it up with other company around. It would be rude to tease. “Oh, I'd love to go out. And I'm sure Lilah would like to come along. I try and take her from Mom every once in a while, you know. Practice. I told you Chris and I are starting a family, didn't I?”

It was then that Paris noticed a commotion out of the corner of her eye. Had she been paying more attention to her surroundings, she might have seen it sooner and been able to prevent the inevitable. As it was, she'd been too distracted by her friends and acquaintances to notice until a punch was thrown.

“Umm... Chris?” she said, trying to draw his attention to the spectacle. “I think we're failing in our chaperoning duties.”

To be honest Briar hadn't really paid much attention when the posters had gone round advertising Destiny City's first annual Spring Fling.

Well ok, so perhaps he had a little - but only up until the point where he had seen the part about it being some sort of dance...

Because dances weren't really his thing.

His Mum had had other ideas though, which was how he had found himself reluctantly at the Destiny City community centre in a stupid waistcoat and smart trouser get up. There had been a tie to go with it too in silver like the waistcoat but Briar had taken it off as soon as his Mum was safely out of sight and left it hanging untied round his neck.

At least his shoes were okay, sneakers rather the polished black ones that he was supposed to wear for smarts and his Mum hadn't been able to do a thing about his hair which had resisted all attempts with comb and brush in true stubborn glory.

Small things, but Briar would take them - after all bad enough he was stuck at this dance thing - he really didn't need to look stupid on top.

He had money for pizza and soda and had gotten both, munching on his pizza as he drifted around finding somewhere out of the way-ish to hang for however long until this stupid thing was over and wishing that his Mum hadn't confiscated his books.

It was as boring as he thought it would be, well it was right up until the point of the sudden altercation between two of the bigger boys.

Briar wasn't sure of the cause, as he wasn't close enough to fully catch what was going on, but he had seen the boy with the curly brown hair dump ice down the back of the other boy with the girly hair with the neon green tips and personally thought that the latter had the right of it when he retaliated by swinging out at the ice dumper.

Because ice was only good in drinks on hot days - dumping it down someone's back was just plain mean.

Although they were probably going to get themselves kicked out as it had been stressed that fighting wasn't allowed.

Keeping well away from the direction of the commotion Briar went and got more pizza.

This was so boring. Super, super boring.

He could have been at the library or something instead of here being bored out of his skull...

Perhaps he should have been paying more attention to his surroundings as at that moment he bumped into a lilac-haired girl, the movement causing the soft drink in that hand not holding the slice of pizza to go splashing up as his hand jerked.

Istas had watched the fight, though she wasn't there when it started she knitted her brows when it finally finished? Maybe? Hm, though Istas was debating on the pizza, she didn't really feel much like dancing at the moment. She squeaked when she was bumped into, and turned missing some of the drink that splashed but her dress still got caught.

"Oh my!" She started laughing a little amused, "Are you okay?" She asked and smiled at Briar even though she was a bit older than him, she figured it was probably an accident, considering she'd not been paying attention either too busy watching the boys fight. She was using her hand to try and dry the bits of drink that had made it to her dress. Perhaps she should get a napkin, but it's not like it wasn't something that wouldn't come out in a good wash.

Some of the diet coke managed to splash on his trousers, but Briar didn't think that it would be too noticeable - well at least he was hoping it wouldn't be too noticeable since the trousers were kind of a dark grey - a dark, dark grey.

On the other hand the older girl that he'd almost bumped into didn't seem to have fared quite so well, with bits of brown splodges kind of visible here and there on the pink and yellow ruffles adorning her dress.

She didn't seem to be upset though - although it was hard to tell because girls could be kind of weird sometimes...

She was laughing though, so he was going to assume she wasn't upset because people didn't tend to laugh when they were upset - take his Mum for example - she tended to get all frowny-faced and when she was really upset her voice got really, really stern.

He gave her a nod at her question, hesitating for a moment before adding slightly awkwardly "Are you?"

The wave out of the corner of her eye caused Imara to raise an eyebrow. It took her a moment before a sly smile appeared on her face. Kicking off her place on the wall, the young woman in blue jeans made her way towards the woman who had become a fast friend.

"You know, I didn't expect to see a Wench like you here." Imara commented, as the distance closed. Her tone was joking and she was sure Destiny would get the joke she meant. "Not that I am complaining. It's been a slow night minus the group over there that seems to keep adding members."

Pointing towards a gossiping cluster of girls, the teal haired one gave a shrug. She clearly did not understand teenage women even after being one herself.

Now if there was something about Jasper, it was that he was always very well aware of his single woman sitting alone radar. That had binged him to turn from the pizza bar and find a lovely lady in soft blue sitting alone.

The smile spread on his face.

Two slices of pizza balancing in one hand and Amelia riding his hip on the other, Jasper found his way towards the table. "This seat taken?" He asked with an award winning smile.

Istas smiled and nodded as she managed to dry her dress the best she could, "Of course, lets go see if they'll give you more drink. I'm debating on the pizza myself, is it good?"

She seemed to not care at all beyond having tried to dry it some. "Besides, it'll come out in the wash. Mom's a pro at getting stains out so that's not a problem."

She paused in her quest to help Briar get more drink with a thought, "Oh I'm Istas by the way, Istas Holywell!"

Arias was neither in school nor needed any particular drive to build up camaraderie, but he was easily convinced by an overzealous coworker to accompany her. She had the perfect dress and who didn't love a Spring Fling, and how could he resist the urge to dress up and…

It hadn't taken much to convince Arias to go; it didn't take much begging to sway him.

And it was for a good cause anyway, right?

He didn't mind dressing up, or playing the role of date. Didn't mind picking her up.

Didn't even mind when she got distracted with another boy and ditched him. Didn't even mind when she'd texted him to let her know she'd be leaving with him. (The picture she'd sent waving goodbye, no doubt to ensure he didn't think she'd been kidnapped, was endearing.)

But, it left Arias alone and surrounded by more students then he was comfortable with.

He had kept to himself for most of the evening and was on his way out when he noticed a familiar face in the distance, talking up some boy.

…But she looked happy, so rather than be worried about her, Arias made his way around everyone else to approach the two. In the end, he came from behind William and stood next to him. Arias planted his hands on his hips and looked from KD, to William, and then back to KD before just nodding, flashing the two a smile.

"KD," he greeted pleasantly. "Your dress looks stunning on you. Is this your date?"

If he meant to tease, he did so gently; there was no malice, only warmth.

KD smiled and nodded, thinking that he looked very handsome even all dressed up. She hadn't seen him really decked out before but maybe it would have been weird if he hadn't at least worn jeans. She was used to his more laid back style.

"Don't worry Westley," she assured, squeezing his hand. "This'll be fun."

She was about to drag him onto the dance floor ready or not when a familiar voice stopped her in her tracks. She hardly dared believe it but when her eyes confirmed that yes, it was indeed Arias, she gave a squeak of happiness and threw her arms around him.

"You made it! I wasn't sure you would but I was hoping I might see you here. It feels like ages, Arias, and I've been texting you."

Then he mentioned the word date and brought her out of her mini tangent and remembered that she was here with someone. Someone important. Someone Arias had not met yet and should. She blushed and kept Willie's hand, stepping to let the two men size each other up properly. One was her best friend. The other was growing very important to her, more so the more time they spent together.

"Arias, this is my date Westley. I mean, William. Westley, this is my brother, Arias."

She hadn't said it out loud before, not that exact word, but that didn't make it untrue when she said it now.

“This is so juvenile,” Lovely sneered.

First Ilian with the ice and now there was a heckler. Lovely spared him the briefest of glances before his attention returned to the fight that as likely about to ensue.

He didn't know why he allowed himself to be drawn into these sorts of things, except that Ilian was sort of his friend. Sort of. He was as much of a friend as Lovely could have. At least Ilian could tolerate him, which was more than Lovely could say for most people who just didn't understand his need to be superior to everyone else. Ilian let him be superior, and Lovely appreciated that.

Which was probably why, before he could think better of it, Lovely stepped in front of Ilian and took the punch straight to the face.

Willie smiled at KD and was happy to let her lead the way only to instead be approached by another who seemed to know KD. Willie just looked at the other for a moment before KD introduced them making Willie give a dumbfounded look.

"I though you were an only child," he said with a bit of a laugh, "why didn't you tell me you had a brother." He gave a grin and offered a hand to Arias.

"It's really nice to meet you. You can all me Willie if you like, though KD calls me Westley. I do have something of a resemblance to the character."

He looked to KD then to Arias, "next time we go to the farm, you should come along. You would probably have a lot of fun." Willie was just a very social person, happy to make friend with anyone and Arias being KD's 'brother' was definitely at the top of the list of people he felt he ought to get a long with.
