Night ambled a bit, catching bits and pieces of the conversations and comments around him. Some of the kin were making introductions. Cultivating allies, he thought. This was all new to him. He decided his best course of action, while casually observing the other players, was to keep his main focus on the host of this gathering party.

Click to show. There must have been a breakdown in communication somewhere for the near blind doe found herself in the field with other kin who were decidedly not there for a festival to celebrate trickery and painful death by deceit. First thing that clued her in to the huge mistake was the fact that her participation was thanked for beforehand.Ritual sacrifice was pretty much unheard of. And then the spry river-rock colored one went on about actors and masks. Pulling an old identity over herself as to not amass suspicion, Look-See played the dutiful, game-giddy doe. For all the company she kept, she was not keen on cursing or wallowing in her misfortune. She could not kill here. But maybe she would be fed and perhaps the game would garner the attention of Gloom. Doom would not show up. No one had seen that Mare since her ascension and even then, sightings were rare. When the acha finished its folly promise of safety, Look-See alighted from where she was hidden by the shadows and walked into the clearing to get a better sniff at the other players.

Look-See paused mid-gait and swung her head to the side. My, nature compensated Look-See too greatly for her lack of sight for there were more than one kin who smelled too ripe amid the heavy air. Scent markers would hopeful be of use in this game. She saw the kin as general blob of colors. There was a white buck who had half a tree on him, some brown tree kimeti doe while the one who called herself Bare Trees was colored as her namesake, the smattering of green on her flank. She knew no one here. Sighing quietly, she lowered her head and flicked her flowered crown discreetly so that she would be enveloped in her personal floral perfume cloud to ward off the other scents. Like others, she waited.

Snake Flower stepped into the gathering quietly, and with great care; as though each hooffall was sure to cause a earthquake, should she not step softly enough. She was not used to being in the company of so many, and her nerves were quite apparent in the way that her eyes darted this way and about, hooves shuffling clumsily in the swamp grass beneath them. She wasn't sure, really, why she had come to play this somewhat spine-chilling game. She certainly wasn't good at deceiving anyone and she doubted she'd make it very far past the first few rounds... Snake's tail twitched behind her, and though she would not admit it to herself or anyone else- she did, in fact, know why she'd come. She was a doe prone to loneliness, and the promise of company was too good for her to pass up. Even if she couldn't work up the will to actually speak to anyone. Perhaps, when the game started, she'd be able to relax a little more and join in the murmur of voices?

Introduction made, Giveforward moved back and found herself bumping into a white doe. Rounding to apologize, she stopped to stare at the lovely flowers placed into her hot pink hair -- oh, there's even one in her tail! -- before remembering to apologize. The doe was just too pretty.

"Sorry," pause, "I'm Giveforward but you can call me Lamb. What's your name?"

"Lamb" she stated and greeted, tasting how the name felt on her tongue. Inhaling deeply she found she liked how this one smelled. Like lazy honey on moss.

Moving her head in the general direction of the voice, she saw pale green eyes as the white doe stepped well into the other doe's personal space. What little she could see was limited to what was in her immediate vicinity.

"I am Look-See. So, come here often to play these games?" Look-See grew up with a loosely resembled idea of family and as there was never need for anyone else, her social skills were a little rusty when each word was not heavy with intent or purpose.

The invasion of personal space did little to bother her. If anything the increased scent of the flowers made her feel a bit heady. It was actually pleasant.

"Oh no," she shook her head. "I haven't played this game before. I accepted the invitation in someone else's place. She had other things to do," she explained.

More than hearing so late about the festivities, it was the identity of the game's host which truly upset the doe. She did not hold a hint of contempt in her walk as she entered, instead opting to nod politely and smile at those she passed.

When she reached the acha hosting the activities, she butted her head gently against his side.

"While I know that you're a story teller tried and true,
You could not tell me of this game- the flesh and blood of you?"

There was, however, no malice in her words. The Once and Future King laughed, smiling at her father.

"Mother bid me send her best,
And she urges without jest,
You visit her again."

Blooming Sunrise was not really used to games... or other Kin now that she thought on it. But this didn't really change what her motive was. She had not participated in the previous game, but she was VERY determined to win this one... Whatever it was going to be! After all... She was a merging of two great lines. She had to be destined for great things on her own after all!

Blooming Sunrise stayed a bit on the outskirts of everything happening. She wanted to be involved, but not too involved. She certainly thought that everyone was getting a bit too... close?

She slipped in, jittery, unsteady on her hooves, and giggling quietly to herself as she slipped into the throngs of creatures already present. Delirium found their company to be quite amusing, for whatever reasons went on within her head, and after a few seconds of glancing around curiously, she settled herself within the group and waited.

She remained leaned against the treetrunk and didn't move. How will it end this time? The doe simply joined out of boredom. It felt nice to be able to try and socialize with other kin once in a while.

Kiss of Death clicked her tongue and counted the number of participants before the game had officially been started by the acha buck.

He wasn't all that interested in the game, in the long run, as a game... he was interested in it for what he could learn about others... Such information was useful. It also gave him a chance to examine potential... companions... for his future enjoyment. "What an... interesting mix... we have today..." He murmured, softly, not caring if he was overheard.

He creaked as he made his way out of the more densely standing trees. It was a blessing, as far as Story felt, that he should be there on time; however, it appeared that he had actually managed to be there a tad early.
"How serendipitous," he said to himself. His voice creaked like old wood, sighed like the wind, and just those two words took as long to get out as one hundred words from someone else.

This wasn't his normal sort of ... Well, anything. It did present itself as a possible way for him to find his missing Secret or possibly make a new friend or two. He reminded himself mentally that it was good to stretch ones personal boundaries.

She puffed her cheeks to give the appearance that she was larger and more imposing than she really was, and clobbered forward with exaggerated steps.

Alas, despite her best intentions, the logistics of it was too much for her. Walking was easy when done subconsciously; not so much when one was deliberating on the specifications of each step. It was not long until she'd careened off into whatever direction offered her the most balance, and became parted from her dearest friend.

The group wasn't too large, though, and she was able to reunite with the doe soon enough. "Almost lost you there, Spotty!" she said, her words directed towards a fanged and striped kin with striking resemblance to Watch the Skies.

((Sorry for the late replies; project due dates are loooooming! I am looking forward to playing with you all, though! ♥))

One tree detached itself from the others, and Sleepless' eyes grew wide.

"Oh my goodness," she muttered, staring at the fantastical specimen. Then it talked. He talked, to be precise. A Kin. He was a Kin.

"He's a walking tree," she muttered, then she fairly hissed at Bitter End, momentarily forgetting that this entire journey was grueling torture at the hooves of her oblivious but ridiculously adept captor and she was not by any means 'a friend' she should be blabbing excited scientific ruminations at, "look at that incredible Kimeti. Just look. He's a walking tree. Every inch of him looks perfectly imitative of our familiar flora. Is it some remarkable camouflaging mechanism? Is all of that bark and green actually carefully mimicked hide and scale? Or is it an external system, a symbiotic cover that breathes as he breathes, a unique evolutionary function of some astonishing circumstance? Or is he literally made of wood? Or maybe he's Swamp-touched. I have to find out."

Again, forgetting that she should be plotting to run away from Bitter End forever, instead of just running away from Bitter End to investigate a medical curiousity for a little bit during a game that would certainly keep them together for much too long without any means of possible escape, she scarpered over to the fascinating Kin – and stopped just shy of his immediate presence, suddenly timid.

He was just so...majestic.

I just sent her scarpering over because she so would, the game will start up before she actually gets to speak to him so you don't have to reply, I'm just letting you know! XD <3

By the time Sleepless' words reached her in her intense, philosophical ruminations, the doe had gone - her head swivelled over to the walking tree and she could scarcely believe (except she could) that her companion had RUN OVER to what looked suspiciously like a creature the Motherfather would create to do in the weak and hide them into the vast growths of the swamp. She had enough of vines trying to kill her in her dreams or not, thank you very much, and there was no way she was tagging along for certain death in a game that would make it so easy to cover up.

Goodbye Sleepless, she thought grimly. At least if she wasn't going to manage poisoning that buck without her, she could lead him to his death at the hooves of this monstrous walking tree, and let him be consumed as she would be.

Instead, she slowly walked about and around the milling kin, trying to figure out whether it would be more or less dangerous to join a large group (and potentially be taken out without anyone noticing) or a few stragglers (everyone could be taken out without anyone noticing). "Such is the frailty of life," she hissed, skulking about.
