The dense cacophony of the gathered people and pokemon was suddenly pierced by a scream.
The chorus of voices made way for silence as a young girl wrapped her arms around herself, shivering. "Th-th-there's something in the grass! It touched my leg!" She explained panickedly, The chorus of voices returned at a murmur. "A pokemon?" "What kind of pokemon?" "The immortality granter?" "Wait, did you hear that?"
The crowd went silent again as a rustle was heard from the tall grass a short ways away. Another rustle was heard even deeper in. The grass shook where the pokemon was no doubt hiding.

Joey took a sensible step back from the area where people were most wound up, glancing at the grass around his own feet. Lily Rose, on the other hand, was a dog. An excited dog. She followed Joey's look towards his feet, and gave the grass a good sniff. Not finding anything appealing in the grass around her trainer's feet, she bolted towards the rustling grass. "Lily Rose, no!" Joey called, then ran after her.

Desdemona drooped slightly, disappointed that her haunting tactics hadn't made any impression on Heidi, but she redoubled her efforts. "Chaaaaan. Chandeluuuuure!" Her ironwork arms undulated, and she leaned in, bulbous body alight with ghostly illumination, until she was mere inches from the Zigzagoon's face. "Yes, yes," Juno sighed in impatience, barely listening to the extended apology -- something about the stray Pokémon being a kleptomaniac. It seemed the younger woman wouldn't be skittering off as quickly as Juno had hoped. "I suppose you'll be wanting an introduction now? The lovely Chandelure whom your creature's been bothering is Desdemona. I am Juno Leoni." She was clearly expecting some recognition of the name. "And you are...?" The question was a challenge.

Becka whirled at the sound of a scream, Raven too, jumped to attention, baring his teeth and bristling for a moment. "hush Raven, let's go see, someone might be hurt" she said, not sharply but firmly enough that Raven paid attention. Becka pulled her healer's pack round in front of her and together she and Raven moved forwards, only to discover that the source of the scream had been someone spooked by a Pokemon in the grass... Now Becka was a pretty easy going girl but really.. if you're going to be startled enough to scream like that, you had no business being a trainer, for a second she rolled her eyes but then composed herself into the Becka she normally was, kind and approachable.
She froze as a rustle in the grass silenced everyone, could it be the Pokemon they had come here to seek? Surely such a pokemon must be brave, most wild pokemon wouldn't stick around a group of people this big unless they were spoiling for a fight. As if sensing Becka's throughts, the hackles on Raven's back rose as he turned towards the sound, he might be a companion pokemon but he was ready to fight to keep Becka safe.

After taking his latest round of photographs, Shaun sat back on his heels and reviewed his pictures. There were some good ones in here. "Very nice, you make an excellent model," he told the Houndoom. "Thank you for being so patient with me." he stood up, about to show the trainer some of the pictures, when he hear a scream. His head whipped up as the commotion started. Something in the grass? It was thick and high enough that something could easily hide among it. he tucked the camera away and climbed on Salvo's back. The rounded back was a little tricky to stand on, but once he braced himself against the patient pokemon's now-upraised neck, he was able to see above the heads of everyone to to and spot what was causing the ruckus.

Juno scoffed at the commotion. Had these amateurs and children ventured out into the grasslands without expecting to run into a variety of wild Pokémon? The immortality granter was all that mattered, and surely it wouldn't be some scurrying little thing in the grass. Still, she kept half an eye on the rustling.

Magnolia jumped, but it wasn't at the prospect the supposed immortality granter had been slithering around people's heels like an Ekans in the grass. They sudden outcries had alerted her, but only enough to jerk her head in the direction where the commotion had rose from. She didn't wander away from her company, but instead, she kept a steady, concentrated eye about the area looking for whatever Pokemon it was.

The pokemon in question poked its head out of the grass - its tulip-like head. Huh?

"Bellsprout." It said matter-of-factly, as if to say, 'You all got trolled.' It's proclamation sounded, it sank back into the grass. The assorted trainers looked around at each other before frantically reaching for pokeballs.

Becka chuckled as a Bellsprout emerged from the tall grass, before going back into hiding. She kept her pokeballs where they were, a Bellsprout was all well and good but she had no use for it as a Healer, she needed something a bit more useful if she was going to attempt to catch it. Let others try, others that might be much more interested in it.

"Liiiiiiiiiiiiie!" Lily Rose yelped, startled. She bolted back to Joey, crouching in front of him and barking protectively. Joey....sweatdropped. This was what everyone was freaking out about? It was just a Bellsprout.

A few pokeballs were thrown by the faceless masses, but none made the mark. The bellsprout popped it's head out of the grass once more, gave a disdainful look at the crowd of people, and raised a leafy limb up before creasing the leaf in a manner similar to how a human might flip someone off. What a vulgar bellsprout! Off to the side, another bellsprout poked it's head out of the grass to see what the commotion was. Jaime began to respond "I'm glad-" when screams began to rip through the air. From the commotion she immediately gathered that the immortality granter was very real and apparently very scary. Why is it that a Pokemon that grants immortality would be scary? That just didn't make sense. In Jaime's mind it would be a kind, gentle Pokemon - not something to scream at.
All of a sudden a the crowd seemed to calm down and Jaime heard murmurs of a Bellsprout - no, two Bellsprout? It sounded as if everyone had panicked for nothing. It seemed everyone was on edge with all the rumors floating around. So far on edge that they would make an immortality granter out of Bellsprout. Jaime shook her head, wondering if she had come all this way for nothing. She then nudged Shaun and wondered, "Should we go further in? We might be missing something important!" Doom was already at her side the second Shaun finished snapping his pictures and he realized it was okay to continue following Jaime closely. His ears were poised and alert for any additional signs of danger.

From up here Shaun could get a good look at the pokemon, once they popped out of the grass a bit. They turned out to be very some recognizable pokemon that certainly had no ability to grant immortality. They were common enough that if they had such an ability, it would have been discovered a long time ago. He glanced back down at Jamie when the other trainer nudged him. "Not a bad idea. Looks like it's just a couple Bellsprout right now, though they were hidden in the grass and people didn't know what they were at first. But of they could be completely concealed, so could other pokemon." He carefully lowered himself until he was sitting astride Salvo once more, then patted the pokemon's neck. "Come on buddy, let's go check it out." His pokemon obediently started forward again, turning to head towards the Bellsprout had been last seen.

Becka had to stifle a laugh at the impudence of the first Bellsprout, she'd seen enough of those looks and gestures by those that didn't want anything to do with a healer, the poor thing, it was either mad that no one caught it or just peeved that they had tried.
Raven growled a warning as it gestured, and another popped it's head out. Becka looked and just smiled when she saw the newcomer, her fingers twitching as the excitement around at pokemon to catch, was getting infectious.

Another Bennet? Rhei thought, eyebrows furrowing. Did that mean there were more of them here, after all? Or was this young woman just disappointed that they weren't family? Unsure whether that should warm her or unsettle her, Rhei settled for the latter as Ai glared at her Mew. A furry paw glided over Rhei's palm and lit it with warmth for a moment but then was gone, and the air was cold on her skin again. Kumiko seems like a sweet enough creature to me. Crossing her arms defensively, Rhei turned to Magnolia, who seemed a bit more open to her.
"Yep, Rhei," she confirmed, nodding. "I don't have a pokemon, no. I've been trying to find one, though - more as a companion for a journey than to battle with, but I'm sure that will be necessary along the way." Watching Asphodel shrink down on top of Magnolia's head, Rhei uncrossed her arms. "Asphodel doesn't look very comfortable up there," she said, but her attention was distracted by a screech. Turning to where it had come from, Rhei peered into the long grass, but saw nothing except a little shake. Soon, though, two little yellow heads peeked out of the grass.
A Bellsprout! Rhei's immediate response was to fish a pokeball out of her bag and click it to its full size, but she paused. Do I want a Bellsprout? she asked herself. They evolved into Victreebel, but she would have to find a leaf stone and do a lot of battling to get it ready. Until then - well, according to her book, grass pokemon often knew a bunch of scary attacks that could paralyze a pokemon or poison it, and Rhei wasn't sure if she was ready for that responsibility. Pressing the button on her pokeball, Rhei held it in her hand but didn't put away, so she could be prepared in case another pokemon came out of the grass.
