While the Wind B'alam is a whole lot of selflessness he is not very brave. Most of the time Desmund is very fearful and worried about about all the things that can go wrong during adventures. Plus there is the fact that something always goes wrong when he is working on something or trying to help someone out. No one ever said growing up and spreading wings was an easy chapter of life.
