Happy that he was making another Pokemon's life better Simon was glad that he was able to help when someone else was being a jerk. Walking out of the Pokecenter Simon checked his Pokenav, only a day left before Palpitoad's lucky egg ran out. After that he would put the water Pokemon away for a break. The main thing he wanted, was to have his power team of Greninja, Dusknoir and Golurk then train three other Pokemon for the last three of the gyms. Outside he wasn't paying attention where he was going and was soon in tall grass. A bark caused him to look up and see a dog Pokemon, scanning it he learned it was, "Herdier the loyal dog Pokemon. It has black, cape-like fur that is very hard and decreases the amount of damage it receives." Nodding Simon sent out Luxio, his own electric dog type Pokemon who barked as well sparking and ready for a fight. Since he was a higher level Luxio started off by charging his attack up.

After charging up Herdier rushed and bit (crunched) Luxio. The attack was a strong one however the charging up really boosted when Luxio darted forward to bite the Herdier back. There was a crack as the bite was boosted with his electric power. Darting back Simon nodded, "Great job Luxio, looks like you not only flinched the Herdier but you paralyzed it as well.""Lux," he barked ready for the next turn.

Growling as he was shocked a little Herdier shook it off and barked at Luxio. "Do another charge and ready up for a stronger thunder attack next turn.""Io," Luxio said as he started to store energy for his next turn. Meanwhile Herdier shook off the paralysis and sniffed readying itself for battle. Luckily it wasn't Dusknoir or Golurk fighting because its normal attacks could no strike them.

Another electric bite attack caused a crack of electricity caused the Herdier to yelp and faint. Clapping Luxio Simon congratulated him before hugging him. "Great job Luxio!" he said before returning him to his Pokeball before continuing on.

Continuing his search in town for another Pokemon to battle Simon noticed a Pokeball in the tall grass. Thinking that he scored he reached for it only to feel a jerk as it pulled away. Jumping back he frowned seeing that it was actually Foongus the Pokemon who had a pattern on its head that looked like a Pokeball. A Pokemon was a Pokemon so Simon decided to send out Pachirisu out to battle as well.

As the Foongus got ready to attack Pachirisu chirped excitedly. "Let's try to make it so he cant attack anymore, use Thunder wave!" Simon shouted as the squirrel Pokemon fired off a jolt of electricity that caused the plant Pokemon to shake from the paralyzing attack. Shaking it away Foongus grew his roots out into the ground so to heal after every turn.

With the Foongus hopefully being paralyzed and stuck to the ground, albeit gaining health. Simon was sure Pachirisu could deal some real damage. "Go ahead and shock him with Spark!" Simon shouted as Pachirisu charged up and blasted Foongus with the bolt of electricity. Shaking it off Foongus smacked Simon's Pokemon with a root, faint attack, before absorbing some HP from the ground.

Darting away from the roots Pachirisu fire off another Spark which caused Foongus to take come damage and twitch as the paralyzation stuck. Even though it couldn't attack Foongus could still draw healing from the ground from his lingering ingrain.

After striking Foongus with another spark Pachirisu darted back near Simon waiting for the next attack by the roots. Simon guessed that in the jolts Foongus had been knocked asunder as it attempted to use ingrain again. It failed because the first time was still in effect healing him some more.

One final spark knocked Foongus out and unable to heal as the roots retracted and it fainted. Gaining experience Pachirisu jumped up and down in happinesss and Simon returned him and hurried to the Pokecenter in order to heal everyone up.

Just as Simon promised after healing his team up he went to the PC and put Palpitoad away for a rest. Withdrawing Dusknoir he added him to his team, happy to have another bit of familiarity back on his team. Knowing that Skyla would be strong he was happy to have another ace in his pocket. With that he went back into the tall grass to locate some more Pokemon to train with.

Back out in the tall grass Simon wasn't surprised to see another Pokemon to battle, however this one he had never seen before. His Pokedex said it was called, "Deerling the season Pokemon. Their coloring changes according to the season and can be slightly affected by the temperature and humidity as well" Checking out the Pokenav Simon saw that Pachirisu was a little lower than Luxio he sent Pachirisu out to battle.

The first spark managed to inflict Deerling with paralysis but he broke through it rushing and kicking out at Pachirisu.

Shaking off the attack Pachirisu used another spark however once again the Deerling broke through the static. Instead of attacking the Deerling used a move that didn't do anything and Simon recognized the slight shimmer as camouflage which would change his type if they were somewhere other than a grassy area since Deerling was already grass.
