It wasn't one of the fossils he needed to appease that weirdo king guy, but still it was a fairly interesting find. It sounded to Evan like the boy had come here a long time ago, but hadn't left. The room was barren and there didn't appear to be any other route leading to another room. So was the boy only coming here to hide away? Was he running from something? Someone? he had a backpack on him, and his clothes looked somewhat dirty, but honestly Evan looked a right mess himself. The stench of sweat, dirt, dust and sand didn't make him feel any better about his appearance either. He needed a bath... or shower. "You mentioned you'd found it long ago, is there a town nearby that you're staying at?" Evan asked. Evan caught a bit of hesitation in the boy's face before he nodded. "Yea, Lavaridge isn't to far from here. Once you make your way to the base of the volcano, it's just a bit to the west." Just a bit? Just how far across the desert did Evan get? Still, this was good news despite the painful look on the boy's face before he'd answered. "Cool, cool... But before I go anywhere I have to find my friends." Evan lowered his gaze over to Louhi, then to Saga. Finally he looked back to the boy. "Could you, Open the door leading back into the ruins for me? My friends are still back there, and now that I know the way, we can finally get out of here."
The boy again seemed hesitant, but nodded nonetheless. His Gallade gave out a grunt before waving a hand and both doors lifted up to reveal the correct path once more. Evan thanked the duo and quickly went to fetch his companions. Law and Origin were still back there. Law himself was facing a new foe, a Murkrow. Another Pokemon that wasn't going to go down to easily. Having restored himself with a couple potions, the Panda launched his attack at the distracted zombied bird, causing it to break it's focus on the doorway and turn to Law with a sharp 'Caw' into the air. It quickly lowered it's beak to peck Law. While it was painful, the Panda was quick to unleash his return fire, felling the bird.

As they walked, Louhi gently tugged at Evan's arm, drawing attention to himself. 'Evan... Could you not sense it?' He asked. Evan wasn't sure what Louhi was on about, and arched a brow in confusion. 'That boy... I don't think he's aware.' "Aware of what?" Evan pondered, though as he thought about the room and the boy's hesitant look, it became clear. "Oh... He's um... He's not entirely here is he?" Evan replied. Louhi nodded. 'I believe he may have passed away long ago, and those two Pokemon have stayed with his spirit as to not upset him.' Evan lowered his gaze. Two ghosts in one day... well, two days maybe? Regardless, it was sad. How had he died though? It had to be sudden. At least, Evan hoped it had been quick and painless.
Law was having a real challenge now, with his next foe being another Stunky. Not wanting to deal with it this time, the Panda motioned towards Origin, allowed the dragon dino to deal with it. Earthquake made short work of the fowl smelling creature... but it also made quick work of the doorway. Weakened enough by the relentless attacks it'd endured it finally cracked, and broke apart. The remaining dark-types filtered through and quickly made their way to where ever Evan was. Law furrowed his brow, but quickly got on Origin's back and motioned forward. At once the dino dragon rushed forward in pursuit.

Deciding this time to simply float over the maze, Evan got a good birds-eye view of the maze, enough to spot Zoro once more standing perplexed by a dead end. "Zoro!" Evan called, waving a hand. The fox looked up, eyes widening. "Why are you up there?!" He questioned, leaping up onto a wall of the maze. "We've found a way out, so we're coming back to get everyone." Evan replied. "Why didn't you just travel over the maze?" The male inquired. Zoro looked away for a moment, but with a huff he pointed up at Evan. "It's cheating! Anyway, Law and Origin are still back there. No one else made it down into the ruins." Evan nodded. "Alright. Let's go get them than."
Origins pace far exceeded the dark-types. Within seconds he was at their heels, snapping his maw. Law however was the one to actually get in a hit. The back of a Sableye's head was his target and he made direct contact upon the part dark-type ghost.

While Zoro leaped across the top of the maze, Evan and the rest of his Pokemon floated overhead. Within a few seconds they were on the otherside and heading back towards the next room. It wasn't long before they made it to the chamber with the freezing water and two other directions one could go. Evan was lucky to have picked the correct one, while Zoro had choosen the path that lead right back to the same room.
As they entered, a swarm of dark-types entered through another door. Law and Origin quickly on their tails. The panda leaped from Origin's head and dove with paw upheld right into the back of another Scaggy's head. The dark/fighting-type toppled forward knocking over some of the other Dark-types, creating a large pile up. Evan was shocked, but ultimately it was a pretty funny sight.

A floating Pokemon, not effected by the pile up, turned towards Law with an angry cry. Law leaped up knocking it form the air, to which it responded with a quick recovery and it's little tentacles in an attempt to constrain Law, however the panda was far to strong for it to hold for to long. With a swing of his paw, he knocked out the Inkay. It was then the Panda noticed Evan. His grin vanished, replaced with a scowl. "You seem to be enjoying this." Evan replied. "Have you been fighting all of them by yourself." Law motioned towards Origin, as if to say he'd helped. Evan noticed the less than pleased Scraggy in the dragon's maw. "Uhh... Origin you don't need to hold onto them." Origin grunted, opening his maw, letting the Scraggy go, but also to show the two poke balls in his mouth. Evan furrowed a brow at this. Did... had they caught two of them? Well, they were Pokemon after all.

Louhi and Saga joined Law to stand between the Dark-types, all finally getting back to their feet. Evan in the meantime approached Origin, reluctantly pulling the two poke balls from his maw. The Scraggy oddly enough didn't wander off, instead it joined Evan at his side, holding onto the male's pants. "So... I guess you were caught? Umm, Let's call you Stian." Evan didn't know just how accurate that name was for the Scraggy. It looked up, it's face was unreadable... it looked bored, if not a bit unamused. Whatever the case, it didn't look upset at the name.
"You found them?" Called a familiar voice. Evan turned around to find the boy once more with his Zoroark and Gallade standing in the doorway. Nodding Evan motioned towards him team. Saga disposed of a Stunky that Law frankly didn't want to tackle himself. "Well, the ones that came into the ruins with me. " Evan replied. "The others are likely out in the desert still." The boy downcast his eyes. His hug on the fossil tightened, and when he looked up, the boy held a fragile smile over his lips. It looked as though he wanted to say something, but wasn't to sure about what Evan's response was going to be.

Law took the next Pokemon with amazing speed. A Houndour being his target, he knew he could handle these with ease. Once the canine was brought down, only one Dark-type remained. A Purrloin. Law was ready to take it on, arching a paw upward. This was the last one!
"I'm sure they're fine, wherever they are." Evan added, trying to break the awkward silence that had formed between them. "I'm dead aren't I?" The boy suddenly asked. Evan stumbled over his words at this point, sputtering nothing but inaudible babble. Louhi intersected, with a nod. 'Yes, I would surmise about the time you'd found that fossil.' The boy's eyes fell upon the fossil in question. "I remember... Finding it, like it was yesterday, the sceen plays in my head over and over, but it never ends. Like waking up during a good dream." The boy added. 'Likely thanks to your friends.' Louhi added, motioning towards the Gallade and Zoroark. The Gallade leaped forward, holding up his arm, the other held back as if to tell the boy to keep his distance. 'They lie! You're alive and well!' The Gallade shouted. 'These hoodlums are only trying to steal your treasure!' He continued, and while the boy showed a look of confusion, it was very clear he knew of his demise. Evan and Louhi apparently had been wrong about him not being aware. Though, why now had the boy decided to bring it up. And why were his Pokemon trying so hard to keep the boy wrapped in this lie. "You're the one lying. Just let him go, let him pass on!" Evan suddenly spoke up. The Gallade's brow angled down even further. 'He is not dead!' "Yes he is! And he needs to move on!" Evan shouted back, in a frantic pace, Evan rearranged the poke balls on his bag, bringing Louhi back to the main team, while pulling Aki's ball into his bag. "Louhi!" Evan shouted. "Use" He finally looked up, pointing at the Gallade "Foul Play!"

Needless to say, all other fighting had stopped when Evan called for Louhi to attack. The Psychic-type was far calmer in appearance than Evan was, but nonetheless he didn't hesitate. The Gallade however was quicker and managed to get in a Psycho Cut before Louhi's attack took full form and sailed across to the Psychic fighter. A fair bit of back and forth ended with Louhi fainting, but Saga was quick to take stance, ending the Gallade with a single Leaf Blade attack. She quickly then went to Louhi's side, holding up a fist at the Zoroark. It was smart enough to just back away, it's claws upheld. "There is nothing good with what you're doing. You've had your time to morn his death, but he has to move on. You're only doing him more harm than good." Evan stated as he approached Saga and Louhi.
Suddenly overhead, the ceiling began to shake violently. Pulling down his goggles, Evan looked up to find the ceiling was slowly making at decent. Before they could react to the slow moving wall, the doors at each direction of the chamber shut, locking them inside. "Wha-" Evan looked around frantically, the boy and the Zoroark looked just as confused. "Did the battle trigger some sort of trap?" Evan wondered. Quickly making distance, he went to the closest door, being the one that lead to the maze and began to feel it, lowering to the ground he could even get his fingers under the door. Origin stepped up with Saga, but try as they might, the door wasn't budging. It was just like before, Origin could use his tail and get the smaller ones out, but otherwise the bigger of the group were all trapped. It didn't help the panic when the ceiling suddenly sped up after taking a three foot leap.

There wasn't any time for them to figure out what to do before the ceiling had fully come down upon them. Evan, Louhi, Saga and Luffy, even the Gallade and Zoroark were both aiding in the support of the roof. It was heavy, likely being pushed down by something heavier up ahead. This was the worse possible situation to be in, and Evan wasn't feeling to happy about it either. Though, if those dark-types managed to destroy the other doors, perhaps, Evan's Pokemon could as well. "Everyone, aim an attack at that door over there!" Evan shouted, trying to motion towards the doorway that lead them back to the maze.
Of Evan's Pokemon, all the smaller ones were able to rush over to the doorway. Law tried for a Karate chop, while Aki used Mega kick. Hronn used Water gun to loosen up the sandstone. Zoro used his dark blades, and Stian took up the last move, with a Low kick. Bit by bit they took their turns beating up the door, and bit by bit it was crumbling. But Evan, Saga and Louhi were not going to be able to slow down the ceiling for long.
Locking eyes with Saga in this moment of desperation, for a moment, and only a moment Evan felt he... understood Saga. Her gaze was telling him to do something, and he understood what that something was. Reaching into his bag, the male tossed forward a fairly large marble. Saga caught it in her maw, and in an instant, she began to glow, and with a burst of energy the ceiling started to lift up. Saga being the pushing force that did so. Her appearance had changed once more, and as the now part dragon-type pushed upward, she moved towards the doorway where everyone else was. Stepping on a Heart scale along the way, kicking another one into Origin. Saga instantly went into a rampage, rushing forward, she slammed her entire body into the doorway, scattering Evan's other Pokemon, with a few heavy hitting punches, the door shattered, leaving an escape route for everyone else. Holding up the ceiling on her own, Saga allowed everyone to pass by, before she herself slipped through, though her rampage had left her somewhat confused. "Saga..-" 'Return her for now.' Louhi instructed.
There was no time to argue, as the hallway they were in itself started to fall apart. Evan returned Saga to her ball, and quickly went in pursuit of his team. As they ran, Evan began returning everyone else, tossing their balls into his bag quickly, before long Louhi and Luffy were the only two outside their balls, with them, they could float over the maze, though haphazardly. When they were in the final chamber it was a race to the finish as the path was slowly becoming blocked by rubble.

The group ran and ran and ran until they were at the door that supplied light. Bursting from the doorway, Louhi was quick to grab hold of Evan before he fell the 1oo or so feet down back into the desert. They were indeed standing outside the side of a mountain. The sandstorm below made it hard to see anything. Looking back, Evan found the young boy tightly hugging his fossil. He seemed to be hesitant to step out into the sunlight, instead he held up the fossil. "Take it. Revive it and please... someday, bring it back here so I can say hello?" Evan's expression softened into a smile as he approached and accepted the fossil. "Of course." He added. Looking back towards the desert below, Evan nodded. "Louhi, We've got to head back down there and get the others." The psychic nodded in agreement. Before they left however, Evan caught the conversation between him and his Pokemon. He was setting them free, letting them go where ever they needed to go. Of course the Gallade refused, stating he'd stay until he'd passed on. There was no arguing with a loyal Pokemon on this stance.
After those three returned into the ruins, Evan, Louhi and Luffy all made their decent into the desert. Back down in the hot sticky sands, Evan and the group made their way quickly back to where the dark incense had been lit, finding his other Pokemon were not there. A male, from the adjacent camp appraoched, noting they'd told the rest of Evan's Pokemon to head back to Mauville, and that they'd send him there to fetch them. While Evan wasn't to happy about having to return to Mauville for the hundreth time, he guessed it was the closest city to them.

And once more they were back in a desert. It hadn't been long ago that they were wandering in one of these, wasn't it? When he was chasing down that rogue Togepi to retrieve the Zorua egg. Luckily, there was no chasing going down this time and they were free to walk without hurry. Which would've been nice if it weren't so damn hot.
Faraday had never been a fan of deserts and it was starting to show. The only benefit to this one over the one in Unova was that sandstorms weren't violently blowing. It was one thing to suffer the heat, it was another to suffer the heat and the painful factor of sand in your eyes and nose. Now that was no fun.

As they walked along, Faraday fished something out of his bag. The Zorua looked up at him curiously as he did, watching intently as the man pulled out one of the incenses he’d purchased. He was looking it over curiously, glancing around with a thoughtful expression on his face, lost in whatever thoughts he had going on in his head.
"Are you going to light it here?" Faraday snapped to attention at the voice, an eyebrow quirking upwards as he eyes darted around searchingly. Who’d said that? There was just him and his pokemon. So… who was that? He’d heard stories of people who hid in the sands and stuff but this sounded far closer than anything under foot. He hadn’t tripped on a body just yet after all.
"Down here." The detective glanced down, blinking and staring a moment at the Zorua. He was looking back up at him with a curious look. Faraday stared a moment. "Oh hey, you’ve finally decided to start talking?" He jested, grinning a little at the fox. It didn’t seem to take well to the joke, eyes rolling before focusing on the incense again.
"Are you going to light it?" Faraday frowned a little, looking back at the incense. "Probably. It’ll help attract more pokemon, so we can get training." He shrugged, glancing back down to the fox. "What do you care? You’re too little to be fighting just yet." The Zorua gave him a bit of an ambiguous look. Apparently, he didn’t quite take well to the comment but gave no further indication. Instead he started looking around. "You should light it."
"Well thank you, Captain. Any other orders you’d like to give me?" Faraday inquired, but the fox had –for now- lost attention. The detective shook his head, fishing out a match and lighting the incense. The desert was open enough; probably the best place to be training. He sniffed it a little as the scent bloomed to life, finding a rocky place to set himself and the incense down. Already he could hear the sands beginning to shift as the smell filtered along the wind and brought the wildlife coming. He fished Murphy and Chromie’s pokeballs out and unleashed them, eyeing the pokemon a moment before spreading his arms around them. "Alright all get ready… we’re gonna be training for a bit."

"They’re coming." Faraday glanced between the Zorua and the horizon, raising a hand to shield his eyes from the sun as he squinted. Sure enough, small lumps were beginning to over through the desert though for a moment he found himself a bit confused. Were those… cacti? Were they moving? That was kind of odd. It was only when they came into proper view did he realize that they were pokemon.
”Cacnea, the Cactus Pokemon.” Faraday frowned and glanced over his shoulder. The Zorua had weaseled his way into his bag and pulled out his pokedex, staring at it intently as the entry showed up. "Seriously?" He asked, the black fox only giving him a curt look before resuming what he assumed was its learning process. Whatever then. Faraday folded his arms over his chest, stepping back at watching as Dresden struck out to meet the cacti pokemon, giving a proper punch to the first one to appear.

It seemed that the Cactus pokemon came in pairs. Dresden snapped up as another attempted to fling itself on him, with prickly arms exposed and ready to strike. Fortunately he was stronger and faster and before the bulbous cactus plant could so much as lay a single needle on him, he'd launched into yet another attack, smashing a little fist full throttle and sending the pokemon flying over the desert sands. If there were any other wild pokemon intending to join after that display, they took their time showing up.
It could've been seen as cruel really, but Faraday had told them to get training and so... that was what he was doing. And you couldn't train well if you held back. He was probably still pumped from that gym battle to be honest, which was why he was going full force. Faraday couldn't really blame him for that...

"Dresden, don't horde all the battles. Let Murphy get a few in too." Faraday called, a slight frown on his face as he saw the rabbit revving up to take on some more appearing pokemon. The Buneary stopped and looked back, head nodding curtly before his red gaze shifted to the Mudkip. Murphy was looking up at him expectantly, toddling to stand next to him. Dresden looked up and spotted a set of spinning top looking pokemon approaching, gesturing for her to go forth and take them down. With an excited chirp, the Mudkip did just that, rushing forward to slam the nearest doll thing with an aqua tail.
