Gio gritted his teeth. The more he was trying to get under Surge's skin the more Surge was getting under his. "It's not about the time and experience that you inherit it's about the effort and determination you put in. This Aegislash may have belonged to another Trainer before me but I assure you that it's our time together that has allowed him to fight this well" no fancy pose, just a finger pointing out and a closed fist by his side is all Gio delivered with this. "You don't believe me then why do we mesh so well? Huh? Answer that or do I need to beat you with a Flying Type as well?" The Aegislash just floated, he was getting exausted. That last Thunderbolt went unblocked and it affected his vision "Aegislash try hitting them with another Iron head see how they take that on for size" the Steel Type slammed into the Electric Mouse again failing to cause it to flinch but being unaffected by the paralysis set in it.
It was a bit obvious that Gio was more than upset, he foiled Surge's attacks on the battlefield but Surge foiled all banter from Gio. His emotions were getting tied into the battle more than they should have been but Gio just wanted to hurry up and finish the battle. Surge was down to his last Pokemon and Gio still had five others. One of which was his Steelix so no matter what if push came to shove he knew he had the battle locked down

Admittedly, in spite of how unhinged Gio was getting, he was still battling well, and that was something Surge could respect. The electric specialist talked a big game, and to be frank he was challenging under normal circumstances, but Surge knew he was fighting a losing battle the moment that goliath of a mega steelix came into his arena. All he had done since then was try and have fun, and still make the battle into a teachable moment for Gio. It was his job as a gym leader after all. "Now you're just getting cocky kid. Beat by a flying type? Hah. When tepig fly. Maybe you'd have a chance since my pokemon got whittled down by your steelix already, but that wouldn't prove the point you're trying to make, now would it?" He thumbed his nose and grinned. That thunderbolt had taken a lot out of the aegislash, and though it still managed to move, it's iron head wasn't nearly as flinch worthy as before. "Better steel yourself for this next one kid." Surge chuckled as his raichu attempted to blast the ghost once again with another jolt of electricity, though he half expected it to be blocked again, given their little routine thusfar. "It's good to get a little riled up in a battle. Drives more passion into it, but don't go letting yourself feeling invincible and making bluffs that you can't back up." He insisted. "It's not brave, it just makes you look like a fool."

Gio knew his Aegislash wasn't going to be able to attack this round. The paralysis had finally set in and his Aegislash was very weak from the battle. "Don't tempt me Surge, I'm never one to back down from a challenge" Morally Gio losing his Aegislash like this was terrible for him. He knew as soon as he sent out a new Pokemon the wind would blow in a different direction for that thought but still it hurt. "Take your turn Surge, I think you will find we have one or more tricks still up our sleeves" actually Gio didn't even have a clue what he was going to do next. He wanted to hurry up and end the battle but at the same time he still wanted to prove a point

At long last Surge's Raichu, finally managed to knock out his Aegislash before rambling about something on humble defeats. "Easy to say for a guy that doesn't have a chance to win" he thought about it for a minute. He was kinda hoping that last attack missed but it hadn't and it gave him an Idea. "I'll tell you what Surge if you knock out my next two Pokemon I'll forfeit the match. How's that for a humble defeat?" he wasn't going to make it easy but he wasn't going to use his Steelix either to much of a opportunity. He grabbed his Magnezone's ball. "Don't let that shock you or this guy just might. Come on out Magnezone!" a white beam shot from the ball and out popped the Electric Type.

All's fair in love and war and pokemon battles were as close to war as most would hopefully ever see. It wasn't a jab at Gio's use of a tactical advantages to best his foes. No in fact it was a compliment of sorts. "If war taught me anything its too never underestimate the other guy. If your tricks are to fizzle our thunder we've got news for you. Ok Raichu, Double team. Lets see if we can't earn back some lost ground already. Its all or nothing now buddy" Surge was hoping for a last ditch effort of pure luck to turn the battle around, even if only for a turn or two. Gio laughed at Surge's comment about bringing a tank to a knife fight. "I feel bad for the guy with the knife" he said as he thrust his thumb across his nose knowing quite clearly that Surge was referring to Rusty as a tank.
Now Surge was attempting to try a different tactic. If it had been his Lucario Gio was sure that heel could find the right Pokemon but as the Raichu shot out doubles he hoped his Manezone could keep up. "Keep up buddy don't lose sight of the prize, hit it with a Tri-attck!" Gio's Magnezone was trying it's best to figure out just which one was the real one and it had a pretty good idea of just which one it was. It launched the red yellow and blue trianglier beam towards the Mouse and thankfully it seemed as if it hit the right one and was just abut enough to finish this batitle off.
Magnezone did 110 total damage ( 85+30% (Analytic ) attack and defence cancel each other out)

Well i wasn't planing on sending ohm to the event. He's in the Petalburg woods ( In the Sinnoh region ) combating the illusions of lunar corp. They just separated him from Ko and want to keep him trapped in one place while they torment her. But im sure we could work something out once he's out of the woods and back with Ko ?

Surge cringed a little at the failed attempt at a come back. It had been a long shot sure but it was worth a try at least. Riachu struggled to stand back up after that last hit. His illusion copies had all evaporated when the Tri Attack stuck him but the effect wasn't going to diminish the effort. Once back to his feet the spunky electric mouse took back it's stance, ready to go again. Surge laughed. Riachu never had been one to give up. "I feel bad for the tank, You got any idea the cost of maintenance on one those bad boys ?" All whitey banter aside the battle came down to what came next. "Riachu, again !" He commanded and Riachu obeyed. In a heartbeat even more copies then before began filling the room. "Keep him honest, get to moving!" If the increased numbers weren't bad enough now each copy started running about the arena haphazardly.

"A tank like Rusty stays well maintained off of Gym Leaders like you. Easy pickens" Gio smirked at his comment and Surge decided to try and use Double Team again. "If I can shake you down, beat you down or blast you out then I guess I'm a have to bomb you out" One move was trusted for a situation like this, Magnet Bomb. It was a Steel Type move so it wouldn't be as strong as most moves but Gio knew it was more than enough to not only win but get around this Evasion boosting since it ignored it. "Magnezone finish this up, hit em with Magnet Bomb!" Gio's Magnezone went up to the multiple sets of Surge's most prized Pokemon and shot out a powerful ball that exploded causing the already shook up Gym to kick up decent sized cloud of dust. When it finally settled it was clear Gio had won. "Way to go Magnezone, here take a rest" Gio returned his Magnezone.
It was a move that Lucario hadn't expected so a little display of shock was on the Dual Types face. But soon he realized that even Gio was full of surprises some times, so he gave a small smile and covered it up by bowing his head.

Surge shrugged. A lose was a lose. "Guess your little trick wasn't a bluff after all kid. You've got potential ill give you that much." Surge said as he returned his riachu to its pokeball. "Good try buddy." Clipping the ball back to his belt Surge retrieved the gym challenger prized. "As prof of your victory, here." Surge cross the field and with an extanded hand offered Gio Thunder badge and TM-24: Thunderbolt. "If you can beat the elite four and even wanna see our true power, just come on by. Next time we wont be holding back." Surge chuckled.

Finally after what seemed like forever, the battle was over. Gio gave a more than happy smile as he received his items. About time Surge saw things his way he thought. "Well I'm a Johto boy so when I'm the champ I just might. Remember this battle Surge cause next time I'll beat you a lot quicker" he stuck his tounge out before heading outside happy to finally see the light again.
["Come on Lucario lets go to the Pokemon Center"/color] he gave a wave behind him as his number one followed. Upon arrival there was a little old lady who was claiming to sell these things called lucky coins, and as an added bonus she would throw in three Lucky Eggs for each one sold. Seeing as they were kind of pricy Gio decided to buy one not sure if the lucky coin would actually do anything. Once Nurse Joy finished up with his Pokemon she informed him that the lucky coins were actually quite rare and did alot of different things for Pokemon. But as fate would have it when Gio went to go find the old lady she was nowhere to be found as if she had disappeared into then air

Gio left the Pokemon Center and decided to see just what those Balmmushrooms he had found a while back could do. He pulled them out and took out his Metang's ball. After he released it he gave the coin to the Steel Type. "Here you go buddy apperently this will make you stronger" Metang without even thinking gobbled them up and almost took its Trainers arm with it. It shuddered. For some reason it now knew it was way stronger than berfore. It forgot two moves but it couldn't quite remember which two movies and so it let Steam Erupt outwards before throwing out some knarly breath it wasn't used to breathing. "Whoa, I think you just learned Stream Eruption and Dragonbreath buddy. That's pretty rare, it means you are very unique his eyes grew a little big but Gio knew they needed to hurry up and get back to Johto as soon as possible. "Alright buddy, I need you to return. We will play a bit later ok?" in actuality he wanted to hurry up and battle someone now, but he knew it might be asking a little to much. On to the ferry heading to Olivine

It was a nice simple lazy ride for Gio. He ate his fill and let his Pokemon do the same on his journey from Olivine to Vermillion. Normally he would just sleep the whole time but he wanted to make sure that his Pokemon were in Top shape. He didn't want to embarrass himself or his Pokemon so it was a necessity that must be took.

The first part of his investigation in looking for Team Rocket involved asking around. The only issue with that is at the mention of Team Rocket most people want to run and call the police. Luckily for Gio though he knew about an informant from his days with Team Snagem. Though he knew the information would cost him. Nine times out of ten the guy wanted Gio to buy a bunch of items he never planned on ever using. This time seemed no different. He was forced to buy a Dragon Mysterious Incense but he did find out that Team Rocket was hiding out in Saffron City. Well at least a small amount of them.
