 The easy-going Gehaka seemed both relieved and pleased that Shinku wanted to help him, giving the other's hand a small squeeze of appreciation. "It would make things easier if I knew how." His ears twitched at the whistle, surprised that Shinku could utter such a sound. Then again, though the Haka appeared delicate and fragile, Hachiro needed to remind himself that the other was quite capable of taking care of himself.
Intrigued as the gelding trotted over, the Gehaka dealyed for a moment in responding--he had never seen a horse this close. "I would appreciate that very much, Shinku-san. Thank you." Slowly, he stepped closer to the fence, not wishing to scare the horse by any sudden movements. "Maru...he is a fine beast to look at." The other spoke with a bit of awe, noting the powerful legs and sleek coat of the gelding.
"Is he yours, Shinku-san? You said that Sei had brought them."

 With one small hand rubbing the velvety soft muzzle, Shinku nodded. "Yes, he's mine. Sei brought him and Koi as my wedding present." THe Haka gave a little giggle as the horse blew air in his ear. "See how Maru eyes are to the side? That how you want to approach him, behind he'll kick you, straight ahead he might bolt." Shinku stepped to the left opening a spot. "Let him sniff your hand Hachiro. I'm sure he'll let you pet him once he know you a little better." "The haka Sei was arranged to marry only took one husband, my brother. When he died, Sei inherited quite a chunk of the liquidated holding. He returned home, said it was easier then finding a mate so soon after his husbands death." Shinku looked at Hachiro. "I doubt Sei will remarry anytime soon. It's kind of sad, I want nephews."

Hachiro took careful note of Shinku's instructions, slipping to the side so that the gelding would be able to see him. His hand rose, extending towards the horse's nose so that he could sniff if he wished. He had never been this close to a horse, though he obviously seemed to enjoy Maru's company. He did like animals, after all.
"Sei was married?" Hachiro was surprised; he hadn't know that. Sei never seemed like one to get married, just because of his wild spirit. Then again, some Haka had particular tastes. Shinku was the only Haka he had really met; he couldn't really judge on experience. Ah, so Sei was a widow...that made sense. He certainly didn't seem too upset about it. "Was Sei's husband unkind?" He questioned softly, focused on Shinku now rather than Maru.

The gelding eagerly pressed his muzzled and snuffed Hachiro hand. Seeming to decided he like the other person, the horse lowered his head butting to get the Gehaka hand to fall and scratch around his ears.
"Yes he was," Shinku lips tilted at the surprise note in Hachiro's tone. "Mother forced him into the marrage. She had it arranged since my brother was five." He gave a snort, and a short bitter laught. "To call his husband a monster would not be far off what he was." Shinku closed his eyes. "The b*****d beat my brother..Sei has scars, small ones, but still scars across his back."
He leaned back against the fence. "The only good think I can say, is that Sei at least is set for the rest of his life. He won't have to marry again, and I know brother will most like will never marry again."

The velvety muzzle had pressed into his palm, catching the Gehaka off guard. He made no sudden movements however, simply focusing his clear eyes upon the horse, smiling quietly at the display of affection. His hand gently slid up Maru's forehead, scratching at the forelock and being careful to not be too rough.
Hearing of Sei's plight, the Gehaka remained silent, just trying to picture someone who would be cruel enough to beat Sei...The image just wouldn't come. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. "Then it is no wonder that Sei does not seem to miss him. Just by looking at him, you would never know...never even assume that such a thing had taken place..." That was another strike against Arashi, and Hachiro would be glad if he did not get to see Shinku's mother ever again.
"Good." He nodded quietly, finding that fitting for someone like Sei. He didn't deserve to be chained down with an unwanted, abusive marriage, no matter what Arashi wanted.

"I think what Sei misses the mannor the most. It was quite beautiful in a rustic sort of way. I'm thinking of inviting Sei to come with us." His green eyes looked at Hachiro. "We will need an extra set of hands when we move out. If you would not mind?" He asked pleading.
He smiled at Hachiro; "I know it must seem strange a Haka wishing to keep his brother with him. But I want to keep Sei to accompy me, I don't want him to stay here with my mother."

"Ah, I see." Hachiro was quiet for a moment, but didn't hesitate to answer at the request. "Of course not. He's your brother; he should be allowed to come with us if you wish." He liked Sei anyway, now feeling as though he understood the spirited Gehaka better. Chuckling slightly, the dark-haired male allowed himself to attempt at a bit of humor. "It means that I'll have less to carry, anyway."
"I do not think it is strange, Shinku-san. You two have bonded closely, and he is your brother. Your mother...may attempt to marry him off again if he remains here, yes?" Though he had just met Arashi, Hachiro thought it was entirely possible that Shinku's mother would try and marry her eldest off yet again.

The Gehaka was pleased to see Shinku at peace, wondering who on earth would be cruel enough to seperate the two brothers. All he wanted was for his husband's happiness--and if Shinku desired to be close with someone who Hachiro liked, why even have a second thought about it? This way, they could both be happy without shadowy thoughts clouding the edges of what could be considered a dream.
Surprised, Hachiro glanced at Shinku, never seeing him so angry before. It reminded him, for a horrible split-second, of why he had feared Haka so much before. They could be terrible when enraged, doing vicious things without even flinching. But then he reminded himself; this was no ordinary Haka. This was Shinku, his Shinku, someone that he had begun to love. "But surely there must be good Haka such as yourself..." He said uncertainly, not sure how to soothe his fiaance.
For a moment, he paused, his misty eyes unsure as he watched the Haka. "....No, Shinku-san. I do not believe that you will ever keep me as a beast. And even if you do, I would not care. I only want you to be happy..."

Shinku eyes soften, teared, and he turned disgusted with himself. "I never meant to give you that idea. I'm sorry Hachiro; I lost my temper for a moment." The barest thought of his brother being forced to marry made him sick. "Perhaps it be best if you left, I'm feeling so angry, so disgusted at myself and my mother." He said words muffled by his hazel hair.

Hachiro stepped closer to Shinku, forgetting about Maru as he gently wrapped his arms around the much smaller Haka. "No, I know you would never do anything like that to anyone. And do not be disgusted with yourself, please...I dislike seeing you so upset..." He wouldn't leave, even though Shinku had said it might be best.

Warmth flooded him as those arms wrapped around his slender small body. He leaned back against the other, wrapped in the soothing prescence radiating from the gentle giant. "You did not leave..thank you for that." He smiled softly. "Being held like this is a gift, only my brother, father, have always made me feel wanted. Cherished and now so do you."

The Gehaka held Shinku tightly, his eyes half closed as he gently rested his chin within the other's silky hair. "I will never leave you." He murmured, relieved that everything seemed to be alright again. Seeing Shinku like that...it upset him greatly, making him believe that perhaps he had made an error in some way. "I do not like seeing you so distraught, Shinku-san. And I care for you greatly, I do not want anything to hurt you...."

Shinku tilted his head burying his face against the others chest, breathing in Hachiro scent. His smaller body pressed against Hachiro tightly was making him warm inside, and impure thoughts trickled into his mind causing a blush to flame on his cheeks. "I'm glad you care for me," he breath and laid his lips against the skin laying down a single kiss.

Inwardly, the Gehaka was soothed by the feeling of Shinku pressing up against him, feeling as though he needed to do anything in order to protect the Haka. And et, perhaps for the first time, thoughts that fit more in the 'romantic' sense had drifted into his mind, making his ears droop with slight guilt. Now was not the time for such thoughts, not when Shinku could still be upset. The kiss made him shudder, wings stretching around so that it was almost as if the too, could embrace the Haka.
