When the girl spoke in her foreign language Adam was able to identify it. Politics had forced him to learn several languages in order to speak with foreign diplomats. The Syndicate had insisted he learn several more so he could communicate with dealers and smugglers. It was productive to say the least. "Bukora gonai Adam." The senator said assuming names would make the girls slightly less tense. However he didn't intend to hang around this little group. If he was going to pretend to be a good father for his kids he didn't want to be the type to hover around and examine their friends. "Fina nigio teme nobera." Adam turned to his girls. "I have a little work to do so you have fun and I will be outside when you are ready to go." Adam said briefly before walking towards the exit. When he reached the door he gestured towards his bodyguards and they nodded. they would be watching the girls while he dealt with the press outside.

“What brings you here?” she asked curiously. Maybe she moved there or was traveling there, either way she must’ve had a reason to be at the Emporium. Maybe she was just wandering? None of the clothes in the store could really fit her. While she was waiting for their new friend to answer, she handed the clothes off to the employee to be paid for, while she didn’t even bother changing out of the outfit she’d recently switched into. It was handed back to her in bags.
Kahley wasn't sure what Gwen meant when she asked what Kahley was doing here. "Umm you mean on Earth or in this store seficially-" she frowned and tried that last word again. "Sesifically. Spesisically. Sifically-never mind," she gave up on pronouncing the word Sespifically. She had just been wandering around Earth and happened to go in this store. It was fun but saddening to see clothes that other people her (technical) age wore that she would never fit into. She wouldn't even fit into a pair of high heels-it would be like watching a little kid playing dress-up if she tried. She wouldn't fit in anything but she wanted to. The downside of being short. She looked up at Gwen, waiting for an answer to her question.

Gwen didn’t bother correcting her. She knew what she meant, so there was no need to spit out a correction. “Either, though I guess the store. Do you live around here or are you just visiting?” Gwen pondered the idea that Kahley’s otherwordly writer simply wanted to humor herself with the attempts to pronounce the word “specifically”, the joys of puppeteering, but they were all mere slaves to their creative overlords in the real world. Gwen suspected that their new friend was likely just visiting, or potentially just moved. Either brought in plenty of options for conversation.
Kahley had an answer for Gwen. "I live around here. I not born on Earth, but I do have a house here," she said. It was true. She had a house, but did she consider it a home? Kahley wasn't sure. "I in the store 'cause I just wandered into here randomly," she shrugged. "I wish there were things that actually fit me here that not look like clothes for humans around my actual age*," she mumbled a bit. Why were humans so much taller than Laholians? Really, on Lahole, Kahley was actually above average height. Here, she was the average height of an elementary school kid. *8 and a half. Also, Gwen, how did you know?

Well, it seemed she lived there after all. She must’ve had some green if she actually had a house; most had apartments, not that there weren’t apartment worth more than houses. “I’m guessing it’d be pretty weird checking children’s clothing stores jut to fit.” While she didn’t know the struggle, she could easily empathize that it sucked. “Who knows? Maybe someday, someone will get a store going specifically for Laholians.” It made sense why most, if not all, were intended for humans; it was the Capitol of the Republic’s presence on Earth.
How she knew these otherworldly things? Perhaps it was a byproduct of many nights under the influence of caffeine, working countless hours to make machines that would be sold to provide finance for something as simple as breakfast? After all, the caffeine could have made her mentally unstable to a degree, but characters were mere puppets, and couldn’t escape from their purpose, not even to madness.
Kahley nodded. "It weird..." she said. It was. She smiled when she thought of a human making a store for Laholians. Then she remembered...."There are. On Home," she said, dissapointed, referring to Lahole as Home. "Though it make sense for me to go in kid stores when you consider my real age..." she didn't want to reveal her real age yet, and her voice trailed off. She'd only say her real age to a human if she was asked. Until Gwen or Talia asked Kahley her 'real' age, they wouldn't know. "Maybe someday..." she mumbled. Then it occurred to her. SHE could get a Laholian-sized clothes store going when she got older. On Earth. She smiled happily at the thought. It was some time away (would you let someone not even 9 run a store?)but she could find a way to. Somehow. "If I could wore clothes even just....like....this...one..." she was jumping up and trying to get a dress off its hanger. "....in...my...size..." she got it off the hanger and smiled. She held it up to herself, showing it was obvious it wouldn't fit her. "...I would like it," she finished. Kahley looked up, realizing what she had done and what the dilemma she was facing was. She couldn't put the dress back up there. "Umm...." she wasn't sure what to do.

It should’ve been a given that there were places to get clothes for her people on her home planet. “You can suggest it to someone wealthy willing to listen or try setting one up yourself?” she suggested. Her age was debatable, so it wouldn’t be easy to tell. Although, there weren’t a very significant amount of her people on Earth, at least not from her observations. After all, she and her sister weren’t born there either; she didn’t really consider the place home, though any place with her sister there was home enough. When she began to struggle, she decided to assist her. “I’ve got it,” she said, helping her set the clothes back where they originated. After giving a quick smile to her sister, she turned back to their new friend. “Well, I’d love to stick around and chat some more, but we’ve got to get these clothes we bought bagged.” However, when she turned to look at the clothes, they were already bagged, seeing as their father had been giving the thumbs up or thumbs down before the outfits the employee picked out were even to be presented to the sisters. It unintentionally ended up being more of a one stop shop, seeing as they had more variety than she initially anticipated. It was great and all that they’d gotten settled with that, but it felt so irresponsible to be buying away at outfits with only approval as something to go on; she preferred an allowance, something she could budget, something measurable enough for her analytic mind to process.
“Maybe we can meet up with you sometime? Do you have some way we can contact you?” Hopefully a phone number or something; phones were easily one of the greatest inventions ever made. In fact, she would’ve built one if it weren’t for the fact she had to use some pieces from her phone project for something else that was necessary if they were to pay the bills on their old apartment, at least at that particular time. “And you can come walk with us if you want.”
Kahley liked the idea of making a store, but two things prevented her from doing so-on her planet, Kahley would be breaking a law due to real age, and she just....wasn't sure who to tell. Gwen's statement had confused her. 'Somebody wealthy willing to listen?' When Gwen took Kahley's dress and put it back up, Kahley smiled. "Thank you," she said, smiling. Kahley was remembering her big brother; he always took care of himself and Kahley, on Lahole and on Earth. Just before Kahley spaced out (and maybe started crying) Gwen said something, which Kahley basically took as We'd love to hang out with you more, but we're leaving here. Do you have a phone number or something? Kahley nodded, since she thankfully had a phone. Really, if her brother hadn't willed money and a house to her, Kahley wouldn't be here. Not that anyone else knew that. She heard Gwen say that she could come walk with them. Since Gwen seemed to be her brother as a female, a somewhat different age, a human, and way taller, Kahley wanted to. She nodded, smiling, when Gwen asked. "I love to!" Kahley exclaimed, having meant to say I'd instead.

As usual, she complimented the situation with a bit of street slang. “Raja! Let’s go!” After a quick glance to see if their father was too occupied, she stepped outside the store to confront him. “Well, clothes shopping finished sooner than I thought. Where do you think we should go next? I mean, I’d imagine we need phones to contact people, but umm, what else does a person need in a place like this?” She wasn’t born on Earth, so she didn’t know an overwhelming lot on what the everyday felt was necessary. She was still curious as to when she could get signed up for school, what options she had, and if she could find a new machine to build. Gwen simply wasn't the type to sit around and do nothing,
Kahley wasn't sure what Raja meant. "'Raja'?" she repeated in a questioning tone. She wasn't from Earth or Stratos, so she didn't know what that expression meant. She followed Gwen to the door curiously. She heard what Gwen asked about what else do people need in a place like this. Kahley had only lived on Earth for an Earth-year, so she wasn't that sure either. She knew basic things that people needed-food, money, a house, maybe some means of transportation, etc. but she stayed quiet. Speaking of basic things people needed, her thoughts trailed off and she began thinking about food. She was getting hungry; not on Lahole, and not sure if there was a restaurant that had Laholian food, or food she knew she liked. "Food..." the young girl mumbled quietly.
Adam had been sending messages around to various people to ensure various loose ends were tied up when his daughter approached him again. Her question was simple enough but he almost said 'a gun'. It wasn't untrue but children didn't need to hear that. Adam thought for a moment as his daughter's Laholian friend joined them and then he said "Well we can get food, then head back to my home. From there we can enroll you and your sister in school and order phones for the both of you." As Adam said that his phone went off and he answered quickly. Adam didn't say anything but he held the phone to his ear for some time before hanging up. "Are you ready to go?"
At the mention of food, she realized a meal wouldn’t hurt, not that their recent meal wasn’t filling enough. After all, they had so much, they even spared some for their many, many cats. “I’m guessing we’re heading off to the food court then?” she replied, remembering it on the Directory. It was roughly a minute and a half of walking from where they were standing. It was funny they were both considering guns; in Stratos, it was a must, but seeing as their dad was shady about certain things, it may still be very necessary.

Kahley still had no answer to the indirect question. "Gwen? What raja mean?" she asked, making the question a little more direct. Kahley had heard that throughout her time on Earth, but never had gotten an answer to what it meant. Gwen mentioned a food court, and Kahley nodded eagerly. She hadn't eaten that much yet. She was curious to why Adam's phone had gone off, and he answered it, but he didn't say anything into the phone. The person who had called had talked for some time. Whoever it was. 'Weird...' Kahley couldn't help but think that.
"Alright, we can head to the food court." Adam said as he did a double check to ensure both his daughters had wrapped up their business. He took the initiative to start walking there under the idea that his children and their friend would follow. He would take a backseat to their conversations. It was good to see his children making friends but he honestly didn't care and so he wouldn't say or do very much other than pay for what they needed. Adam left his daughter to answer the question about what "raja" meant.
