"...solid hit!" It burst out of him thoughtlessly, Ever not quite able to keep it in. It was too, strangely, exciting in its way. The mess was thinned, he thought, easily batting aside an attack. It was getting easier.

Dylon made a neat blow to the sneaky monster that encouraged the team, Shu seemed to hear low painful snarls through the thinner mist. It was spreading into sheerer layers, shu could see Ever and Dylon's silhouettes easily.
There was an end in sight. It was getting easier to keep on fighting knowing he was winning, however slowly. His team mates still had faith, and were doing an amazing job keeping enemies at bay.
"We'll be home in no time~." He said hopefully with a painted smile.

They had fallen into an easy kind of routine and it seemed, at least, that they were wearing the mess down: Ever's eyes and mind clearer, some of the visions in the fog faded out to, well. Mere fog. There was still a monster there, he thought, but he swatted it aside.
He'd wanted defense practice, at some point. Nothing served better than true action.
"Yup....I miss my cozy bed with plushies, I wanna take a good shower and eat many many desserts." The girl sighed, tried to boost the morale with the good things awaited for them. She didn't see her sisters anymore, that meant they were just her illusions. The frustration built up piecemeal became a driven force, her mind no longer in a tumult. As long as it didn't involve her sisters, she was fine.
"I want a cigarette," Ever piped in, fervidly, as he defended Dylon's back.

"Hot wings? You mean spicy chicken wings?" Shu asked Dylon with an eye blink. "D-Do you have someone in your eyes already? Do I know her?" It was half a question and half of a 'I want an introduction to your girlfriend' style.
As if the news was something cheerful and encouraging for the little shipper, her hammer knocked down a semi-circle of enemies.
Yet, it didn't mean she didn't pay attention to anothet teammate: "Sorry, Mr. Ever, I don't have cigarettes." she said with an apologizing tone.

They were all tired now -- this one of the more grueling missions Ever had been on, certainly. The temptation to split was strong, their route out hard to ignore, but they were so close now it seemed silly to quit. Sunk cost fallacy at its finest.
Of course, none of them were in immediate danger, either, though there was a bruise on Ever's leg growing to a dull ache.
"I really want a cigarette. Hit the damned thing, Dylon."
"Fooooooocus Dylon." Shu reminded the only man who was hitting, but then she couldn't help her talking habit. "ALL the ladies?" An eyebrow was raised, "Including Mimsy, Mimi and me?" Excuse me, Dylon, two from the list were taken.
Dylon was caught on the borders of making things awkward, or insulting Shu by saying he didn't have an eye on her. She was much too child like in appearance for him to be attracted to her. So instead, he focused on her and Ever's pleas for him to hurry up and hit the thing.
God. If only he were more capable. He was a Moon, not a Sun. This was completely out of his league.
"You guys sure I can't cover you again?" He laughed uncertainly. After one more hit, he may have to switch out with them. Maybe his contacts were losing their mojo. A switch to glasses might be in order...
He hit it, harder.
"Please tell me we're getting closer to beating this thing..."

"I don't want to admit how close I am to just keeling over, Dylon, I couldn't take another one." He cleared his throat, shaking his head a little and looking to Shu, instead. His expression was questioning: could she take over? But even as he thought it, something poked out of the fog and he swatted it back.
DEAR THE GOD OF DICE, HERE'S YOUR TRIBUTEEEEEEE PLZ ACCEPT ITTTT AND MERCY US
Dylon's subtle request and Ever's informing of his almost emergent status had Shu made up her mind. The girl stepped out to deliver a blow not strong enough to dissipate the monster, but enough to let it retreat. Her stamina was at the lowest, the angry tendrils swatted her aside, she felt like she hit on a wall-like plane and wasn't able to move for a few seconds.
I did it, Z. The girl told the beast with joy. <Yup, you did it.> The softened tone affirmed.
Now that Dylon could see them, he realized he was probably the less injured of the three. Yeah... just a little more. He didn't want to see Shu get hit again, much less Ever.
"Oh no... sorry Shu!" He winced, never should have asked them to help. He was supposed to do a job.
