Sammy pursed her lips together and whistled casually in a completely transparent fashion. But she was still sticking to her story. "What can I say? I don't check the news very often." As the two got distracted with the woman who pushed her she just let the topic trail off and she smiled to herself. Seemed like she was in the clear.

"Not everyone pays attention to the news ya know. I certainly don't unless one of my two moonsicknesses is about to hit. Good to know places to avoid." She tilts her head slightly as she listens to the reaper thing, an eyebrow twitching up as a small smirk forms on her face. "If your a 'reaper' or whatever, shouldn't you already know my name somehow? 'sides, it's no fun if I just tell ya~!" She snickers and spins on her heel, taking in her surroundings. If there were people looking for this astrolabe then that meant it might be worth looking for. Hell, she might be able to follow her nose if the thief's scent hadn't faded too much or they had avoided anything to cover their scent. "This could be an interesting day~"

These are the things that bring me Joy. Thanaphyr thought on that for a moment. " Ehh...it's not that simple. Since we have physical forms, we can't really hold all the names of every entity in all of existence in our heads. Too much strain. And the books we Reaplings carry only have the names of the deceased. So your name ain't in it." The Reapling wasn't one to give up though. " Say, you seem interested in the Astrolabe. Wanna help me and Xas look for it?" He inquired, figuring if she tagged along, her name might be revealed sooner than later. Xashowd chuckled at his friend's antics. If they were the "Phantom Pirates" as Thanaphyr had jokingly called themselves earlier, they were amassing an interesting crew. He turned back to Sammy, who seemed adamant about maintaining her fallacy. " I'll admit, I'm not much for the news myself. Thanaphyr was the one who found the story on the artifact. But if you're not looking for the Astrolabe, what exactly are you looking for?" Xashowd was determined to learn something about the girl's goal. People didn't lie for no reason, and if she was going out of her way to hide the fact that she knew about the astrolabe, it had to be an important reason. I am Xashowd, the Nocturne Zephyr!

Sammy glanced at Xashowd, staring blankly a moment. Darn, so close to being in the clear. "I lost...my...purse." she covered, remembering the excuse she recently came up with. In hindsight she could've just responded as the other girl did, stringing them along and making them guess. Then again she seemed like the type to pull it off better than herself...

These are the things that bring me Joy. A small smirk appeared on Xashowd's face. Apparently Sammy wasn't experienced with lying. " I see. Do you have an idea as to where you lost it?" He inquired, figuring that where she was going would be important. He and Thanaphyr would still check the Haunted House first, but having a second lead just in case was a good idea. The werewolf looks back at the two males, eyes narrowing slightly as she looks them over. Having help would be good as she didn't know her way around the place, but that also meant splitting any possible reward... She glances at Sammy, head tilting in thought, "I could help you, I guess... But only if you stop trying to grill Sammy. She's nice, so you be nice." She then grins at the girl. "Which reminds me that I need to visit that cafe you work at again."

Inside the fluff pile was surprisingly warm, if a bit grubby. Thing could probably be improved with an air-freshener, preferably one to shove up each nostril. Minty tactfully decided to breath through her mouth. There were a few moments of heart-pounding silence as she waited with Orrin for the danger to pass. Perhaps the treasure-seekers they had heard went in a different direction...perhaps it was safe to...
Suddenly metal screamed in agony and the ground rumbled in anger.
Minty grabbed Orrin's hand, squeezing it tight and hoping for the best. What was going on out there?

After a while of holding the stone and getting nothing, Voyager put it back in his overalls with the others. "Nope... Nothing. I dunno where to go from here, you're the boss." Sciurus snorted. He still didn't hold any stock in Voyager's precious stones, and still wanted to be rid of them even after the fight. "Maybe you asked the wrong one? It doesn't matter anyway. With our bumbling around, either we find him or Zippers will find us." Voyager glowered at the surgeon. "Well why not the Tunnel of Love? The thing had gills last time, didn't he? It might not even have water anymore, and if the place is dry it could make a good home base." The possibility of finding Zippers with even more nightmarish changes was a chilling one. Due to the way he was created, Zippers could assimilate others' anatomy into himself if given the chance, and their last encounter proved it indeed wasn't just human anatomy anymore. "Truly, the idea of going somewhere where he may have the advantage and could be waiting for us is not first on my list. But we don't have all night so we'll have to start somewhere." And off they did, to find the Tunnel Of Love.

These are the things that bring me Joy. Thanaphyr tilted his head, somewhat confused. " If she's nice, then why is she lying?" He asked. It was easy to tell Sammy had lied about not knowing the astrolabe, given the "umms" and pauses in her responses. " It's kinda strange, given how powerful the artifact's supposed to be." Sammy's brow twitched and without missing a beat turned and bopped the little reaper on the head with her fist. "Hey! For your information I have a speech impediment!" It wasn't true in the slightest, but how's that for a poker face. Served him right too. She might've been lying but it was for a good cause! emotion_bigvein

"Dude, we all lie about something, who cares why she's lying right now? Unless you don't think you can take on a human girl with a broken arm..." She watches the two males, eyebrow raised. And then laughs when Sammy bops the reaper thing. "I like her, maybe mum will let me keep her~!"

These are the things that bring me Joy. " Ow..." Thanaphyr rubbed the top of his hood a little. " Geez, a Reapling can't ask an honest question these days...Well, whatever! It's clear to me that we're all here for the Astrolabe now! So, if we're going together, let's move out!" He exclaimed optimistically, figuring things would just get worse if the matter was pressed, no matter how obvious it was. Xashowd shook his head, but figured his friend had the right idea. Plus, the longer they stood here, the less likely they were to find the Artifact. " You don't have a problem exploring the Haunted House, do you Sammy? That's where Thanaphyr and I are headed." He figured their werewolf companion wouldn't have any issues, but he wasn't sure about the pink-laden girl. Plus, her reaction might tell him something, even if it was just that she didn't like scary things. I am Xashowd, the Nocturne Zephyr!
