Both characters are very similar. V's Shadow Gallery is actually based on Erik's underground lair in a way. Whether you think their similair or not doesnt really matter, their both GREAT!

I just saw this a few days ago and I thought it was brilliant. I was also kinda peeved that we never got to see V's face, but then I thought it might be better to leave it to the imagination. At least that way it's better than expecting a truly horrendous visage and getting instead the Sunburn of Doom. cough.

Yeah, we at least got the idea that he was all burned up, I guess...He wasn't blind though. I thought so too at first, but I looked it up. xD
IMDB
V was not blind. In the coroner's flashbacks, she couldn't see his eyes, the line "there were no eyes" was just about her perception of him as a faceless, terrifying prescence, she wasn't literally saying that he had no eyes whatsoever. While improved reflexes and the like are arguably super-powers, V does not have any special perception based around a lack of sight.
