Shaddaling
"You do that." Cai lifted a short cup they'd claimed (juice of course) in toast. It would be longer most likely. With two of the trio in candidacy they were all left out in the cold. Wen did have it the worst though. Should he Impress while they were still weyrlings he would have potentially double the wait. It wasn't like it was a surprise to them though. Cai didn't feel the restriction as strongly as Wen or Jemi might. Celibate for a turn or so? They'd survive. It was one turn of many that Cai intended to have.
Content for now to stay by Jemi's side, Cai still scanned the room for Re'ka. They felt a pang of loss then, as a weyrling they would no longer be the young brownrider's squire.
Laufeth on the other hand was growing bored with the current line of discussion and as his attention wandered about the hall he narrowed in on a pair of heated voices just as they parted ways. Well well well. That was interesting.

"You were injured?" Page asked lightly as they made their way through the crowd. He really was a lot more comfortable without his longer layers. "Ah. Well. It was a thought. It's still a fine piece." He smiled cheerfully.

Ja'line raised one bushy eyebrow. "You thought dragonriding was safer? I don't know if you noticed... but Thread is falling again. Ain't exactly that safe if you ask me." She flashed a grin at him. Nope. Nothing about dragonriding was really safe... fun yes. But not safe. Not that it had ever stopped her from doing as she pleased (a fine day of leaping from halfgrown dragons into the lake came to mind).
Her smile fell and she grew still in his arms, still following the steps but with none of the ease or enjoyment she'd exhibited only moments before. "Lucky You." She bit off the words, trying half-heartedly to keep them from sounding as bitter as they did.
