Really, Seb agreed with the other young man who had called into him, he just didn't like the way it had been addressed to him. He gave him an offensive gesture involving a raised chin and shook his head.
No, it was true. Things were getting out of hand. He needed to exit the cages or else potentially fall into the clutches of the enormous man beside him. It was only fair. His own people had captured a pregnant woman and several youths, what was a commoner to them? He handed the food to said large man, and then unsheathed the knife from his boot. He wanted to be respectful where the captain was failing, but he also needed to stay alive. Some of the captives were growing unruly. The movement was nonthreatening, at least. He would rather not stab anyone, but it would hopefully deter anyone who may think he wouldn't.
All he could offer was a polite nod to those who were still not after him and exited, as alert as he was at work amidst a dozen anxious beasts. People were complicated. They made decisions outside of instinct and morality. Still, Lady Naevius was just beside the cage. It was she he headed toward. Should anyone stop him, he could cite her father's orders to watch over her. Her guards were certainly doing a shoddy job of it. Where were they, anyway?

SHALVESTA Post 4 xxxxCaptured Tents
If she was completely honest with herself, Shalvesta didn't know if she should leave Naevius alone. Having been trained in swordsmanship, wasn't it her duty - both to her friend and to a higher noble- to offer what meager protection she could? Naevius may not appear it, but she did look concerned - and she must have had strong suspicions if she would voice her distrust of the captain. Then again, higher nobility probably didn't have much to fear about the possible consequences of their words. Any lower ranking person, if overheard - a soldier at least - would no doubt be punished if heard doubting their leader by the wrong people.
"I... alright, just come as soon as you're able." Shalvesta began, turning with Ichil to leave, but at that point some man by the fence, who was taunting (?) a prisoner shouted out to the man Naevius had sent into the cage (Sebastien, Naevius had said). In response, it seemed to hasten his retreat from the prisoners. With things getting so volatile, and the gate about to be opened for Sebastien, Shalvesta found herself hesitating, watching the proceedings once again. It would be best to back away from the fence - to at least lessen the crowd, and the agitation within. But- Sebastien had drawn a blade, and things could go sour easily.
Dropping her hand from Ichil's arm, which she had been clinging to, Shalvesta instead stepped to stand infront of Naevius, setting her hand on the sword on her hip. "I do not like how this is looking." She said, slowly, eyes flicking between the figures in the pens, ready to react but also nervous of what might happen.

Senja: Prisoner in Captured Tents Post 4 (1/2 )
Senja was rather appalled by the wind boy... He was betraying his own people to help out? And now was crying... Worthless... She sniffed and turned away from him. She wanted nothing to do with those who would willingly help these invaders.
Then tha oban came in with food for her... Which, while she did want to take cause she needed the food for her growing child, she also ignored. Senja onew how to snub others. "I'm not hungry and don't need handouts. Give it to the wounded of my people instead who need it to heal." She told him in a snooty voice before turning her back on the oban's and their stupid watching eyes.
Instead, Senja looked at Ogbonna. "What do you mean unborn nephew? Are you related to Rastian?" Rastian had mentioned a big family... but she had not met any so how was she to know who was related to him! Maybe he was sending letters to them? She wanted to start crying too, all this stuff happening and she couldn't do anything, her child might be born into slavery, she might have to perform for bans if things went sour, what was Rastian doing, was he okay? But with the boy crying she couldn't, she was gong to be a mother soon and had to not react childishly anymore. Which sucked.
"Hey, don't cry, it'll be alright. We'll get out of here... Wailing and running at fences in broad daylight won't help. Let's get away from the Oban's eyes for now... " She said as she patted her apparent relative on the back.

Grabbing a rock and beginning to strip off the branches,Rayolun gave Lerin a quizzical look. "You are remarkably calm about this... Not worried about family dying? Or what will happen to those who are captured?" He made the stick into a walking stick... but did not add a point to it yet. That would just mean they'd come to take it away from him. Pity the alkidike weapons maker was going of to help.. or maybe not. Alkidikes were not easily cowed, his people knew that! I wonder what she's got planned?

Things seemed to start calming down, and now that the Oban was out of their fenced in area, she knelt down just on the outskirts of everyone. "You should eat at least some of the food. We can distribute it later. I need to make this quick, since this is a large group they're bound to get suspicious." Fleade started her explanation quickly, her mind working a million miles a minute. "I apologize if I seem rude or call you by something other than your name. I don't know anyone's names. I just know we need to get out of here. I talked to Dyakida already, she's offering her help to try and steal us things we can use as weapons. My plan is to take advantage of the untrained looking guards and the gawkers. There are so many nobles that just stand around and watch us. Surely they'd let us out if we put a knife at the necks of the higher ups they'd order the soldiers to let us out right? I can't do this on my own. Someone needs to go with Dyakida under the rouse of being her apprentice or something, to be her eyes, and to help carry things, so she knows when guards are looking and when they aren't. As for the nobles...the one who ordered that Oban to bring food seems like she has the most power here." She said looking quickly at Naevius. "Once we get a noble or two through the fence and they have the gate opened. We'll have to have people help the wounded, order them to give us our weapons, then someone else take the captive on the other side and protect the rest of us as we make our way out. That's where I thought you two..." She said, gesturing slightly to Chal and Oggie, "And the injured shifter over there and the hybrid could help out." She said, once again gesturing slightly to Rayolun and BarAmal.
She knew there were probably others in here who could offer help but she could only go on looks alone. And those people either she had seen in action or looked like they were strong. Fleade fiddled her thumbs nervously. Talking to just Dyakida by herself wasn't so bad. But having to repeat her plan to this larger group made her nervous. She didn't have quite the battle experience some had and she hoped that wouldn't affect her plan in their eyes. Fleade had spent a lot of time thinking about this plan so she hoped it was sound. "We should also split up this group and try to stay only two together...just so they don't get interested in us.." She added quickly.

Naevius smiled gently to Shalvesta as she pulled away from Ichil and instead stood in front of her with her hand on her sword. She touched Shal's shoulder gently to try to disperse some of the tension. "Perhaps the food will calm them for now, until further orders are given for what to do with them." She wondered what her friends thought of her pulling her weight to try and help the captives. She doubted either one would say how they felt out in the open like this, so Nae filed it away to ask them later.
She sighed in relief as Sebastien made his way back over to her. She hadn't exactly thought of all the consequences of sending him in there with food which she now was kicking herself for. Giving them food wasn't something she had thought would cause them to become volatile but at least he was safe now. He was a little bit of home out here in this strange place, which was somewhat comforting to her. "Thank you, Sebastien." She said with a smile and nod of respect as he got closer. "Shal, if you want to go with Ichil it's okay. Sebastien will be here, and if he wants to go anywhere there are plenty of other soldiers around. Like Saraf and Nkole over there." She didn't want to stop anybody from doing what they wanted because they were worried about her. She could hold her own! Or at least she liked to think so.

Sawenah curled her slender fingers into balls of rage, her face flushed and began she trembled from her overwhelming wave of emotion. What gave them the right?! Those items were gifts to her and her most treasured valuables... Why were they able to just strip her of them. It just didn't seem right to her, she couldn't comprehend. "I don't want to see them; I want them back." She growled as she looked at the gate that separated them from the oban community.
"I'm sorry about your mother's bow... There has to be a way to get out of here and get them back." she looked hopelessly around the camp for any chance of escape, but soon realized that it was pretty heavily guarded. Her posture slumped into a slouch as she let out a heavy sigh, "This is hopeless... Only way we're getting out of here is if we charge the gate, or are miraculously rescued... If that be the case I still won't have my necklace or goggles."

BarAmal: Post 2/2 Location:Captured Tents ---> Talking with Sawenah
BarAmal decided laying back when the other injured prentice was trying to get up would be a bad idea. He got up himself with a minor throbbing in the back of his head hoping she would be alright. “Yours is much worse than mine.” On his feet after a moment he gave her an incredulous look. “I think they’d rather poison me than feed me. So not in a while.” He made a face at the idea of breaking others of their ties. His mind went to the shifter who had been fleeing Neued. Very slowly and with clear difficulty he stated the only thought he was willing to share. “True.” A small rant started in the back of his mind about cowards but he figured she didn’t need him ranting at her like a madman.
Her panic confused him until what she was flailing about was explained. “Yes they took most anything that could be used as a weapon or used to end ones self before the fighting started. My mother’s bow is gone as well.” BarAmal had very few precious things to him and the loss of that bow stung horribly. He reached out a hand and gently squeezed his shoulder. “Perhaps if we asked they would at least let you see that your items were safe though I doubt they will give them back.” He removed his hand and doubted even that much but the tears of a woman were a mysterious thing.

“Yes but finding out where they are and the condition they are in would be the first step before getting them back.” He gave her a tight smile that was a bit cold. “This way when we do leave we can take our things with us.” He hoped she was catching up to what he was thinking. He had no intention of just rolling over and being a good little captive. If that meant dying he was certain his mother and father would understand. After all at least in trying to escape he would be free and succeeding meant actually being free. “So perhaps we should find some noble and perhaps if you have any tears left you could ask to at least ‘see’ your most precious things and make note of the direction the oban walks off in.” He made no comment over the loss of his mother’s bow. It simply hurt too much. “We should hurry though before they decide they only need a few captives rather than as many as are currently around.”
Sawenah: Post 2/2 Location: Gate of Captive Tents ---> Talking with NPC Guard
Sawenah smirked, "Mmh, I get what you're saying" she muttered under her breath, "But if I am going to be convincingly sad, you should go somewhere where you have a good view of where the guard goes... I will try to hold their attention so they don't notice you watching."
Making her way across the camp she stepped up to the gate with the waterworks in full flow. As she made the final approach she tried to settle it some, speaking through the hitches in her breath, "Exc-Excuse me... Ummm, I-I was hoping.. You could get- you could get my Necklace... I want to see my necklace." She wiped the tears with the back of her hands, and sucked in her lower lip to keep it from quivering.
The Oban guards at the gate exchanged looks of confusion; finally one gripped the gate and snorted , "You realize you're a captive, right?"
Tears didn't seem to be having an affect, but breaking the act might rouse suspicion, "My Necklace, Please..." Sawenah sobbed, "It was one of my few posses-possessions... It-" she wrapped her hands gently around the soldiers hand and looked into his eyes, "Please..." she whispered, "I'll do anything... Just to see it again."
The man whose eyes she held seemed to be buying her act, but his partner had another plan, "Anything Huh?" He mused while giving a nod to his partner to crack open the gate, "Alright, I'll bring you to them and we'll see just how true that statement is." the guard grabbed her hands before she could place them at her side, "Try anything and I won't hesitate to slit your throat right here; right in front of everyone... And I can promise you no one will be bold enough to come to your aid."
Sawenah glanced over her shoulder slightly panicked, but did her best to hide it. Hopefully BarAmal was paying attention where she was being taken... She had a feeling she wouldn't be coming back.

Gray eyes flicked up to catch the other Shifter's gaze before looking away. "I don't have anyone to be worried about," he admitted with a shrug. "My mother is here of her own free will. My clan... They'll fight, and whatever happens, happens. I have no intention of becoming anyone's slave-" He smiled brightly. "-I can only imagine what would become of a weak, slender boy like me. But if this king gets his jollies calling an extra splodge of land 'his,' well, he can have it." He sighed and tugged his long hair over his shoulder, smoothing it down across his chest as he leaned back. "I'm merely disappointed there's such an upheaval about it."
I was then that a sobbing lad darted just past them, scampering to the other side of the fence and disappearing behind a tree. Under normal circumstances, Lerin might have ignored it. None of the natives were thrilled to be here, and several of them were actually injured, like the man he was sitting with now. It shouldn't have been surprising that a few people were upset enough to shed tears. The only qualm Lerin had about it was that he could actually still hear the sniffles over his own conversation.
"Hey," he called softly over his shoulder as he leaned his back against the fence. "You aren't hurt, are you?"

Dyakida – Alkidike Artisan (Prisoner) Captured Tents: It's very hard to be subversive when you can't see...
Of course she was watched. How could she not be? She was a prisoner doing valuable and sabotagable work. She could feel the Oban's eyes blazing into her, could hear their alert breathing.
She listened to it during the motions of fletching, and thought about how she could pull this off.
An idea came to her.
”If I may have my tools?” she asked, ”I am aware that these are fine tools, but to an Artisan, one's tools are one's soul. You would not take any weapon over your own? No?” she kept at it until someone gave in and decided to give the weaponcrafter her damn tools – it wasn't as though they were dangerous, and besides, she would only use them in the tent, under supervision.
Anything to shut her up and make her work so they wouldn't have to
Dyakida allowed only a slight smile to cross her face. If only they knew. She sat very still as all but one of her watchers left to find her tools, listening to make sure they were gone. Finding her tools amidst the confiscated belongings of the other prisoners and the ill-gotten gains that they surely kept would take them a while, she hoped.
In the meantime, she fiddled with things at the desk, thinking about them. Tools – inferior as they were – could do damage in the right hands, as could pieces of junk crystal and arrowheads. She didn't thing that she could get away with a piece of the cold hard metal, but small things...
Her antennae twitched as she heard her guard growl a curse and move, briefly away. She heard sounds that told her that he was distracted, and she mused about the wisdom of providing intoxicating drinks to soldiers before the battle had even been won.
She contemplated shortening the shaft of some of the arrows and sticking them in the space beneath her chest covering, where her breasts would cover them, but she also knew that she had little time. Instead, she quickly palmed some of the small tools – not weapons, but edged and in a desperate hand they would do damage. She secreted them in the folds of her loincloth. She dared not try for something bigger and, indeed, it was only moments before, with a relieved sound, her guard returned to her side.
Soon, the other guard came with her tools, and – their familiar handles in hand – Dyakida began to perform her craft. Sabotage was out of the question, but quality was less solid. She didn't have to do her best – though it did annoy her at a prideful level – and she kept a mental inventory of the weapons she was aware of...
That, she felt, would come in useful...

Nuawahn – Wind Healer (Conscript) Captured Tents: The World is falling apart
Nuawahn sobbed piteously into his arms, and it took him a moment to realize, through the headache, that someone was talking to him. He rolled his head numbly to the side and looked dully into the forest surrounding the camp before curiosity and horrible loneliness became as powerful as his confusion and he managed a brief, pained glance around the tree.
It was a shifter with black hair, talking to a shifter without black hair who looked... injured.
He's injured. I should heal him. thought Nuawahn, making as if to move. His body resisted, making him stumble before he had even gotten to his feet. It wanted to stay behind this tree forever. Ogbonna was angry. Ogbonna had yelled. It hurt.
He wiped his eyes, trying to make the horrible pain in his head and the back of his throat go away. ”N-no...” he said, finally, snuffling away the snot that began to clog his nose and voice, ”are you?”
Chalcedony - fortress Location: Captured Tents, with Ethel, Senja and Oggie Post: 5
There was a moment where Chalcedony starred down at the Oban that was offering the food to him, considering whether or not it was something that he wanted. Truth be told he really didn't trust them... but at the same time why would they go out of their way to herd them up if they were just going to poison their food? It seemed like a waste of time and resources to him. As such surely the food must be good? Taking it from him he watched as he retreived a knife from his boot and it was something that actually brought a slight smile to his face. After all the things he'd fought against in the past both with weapons and bare handed he couldn't say that a child the age of his sons armed only with a knife intimidated him in the least bit. Instead of saying as much he merely watched him go, not wanting to cause an incindent.
Once the boy was gone his attention then turned back to Senja as well as the one that he still had an arm around, "The food should be safe, they wouldn't bother poisoning those that they already see as captured and defeated." He said, opening up one of the packages and took a small amount so that he could test it, "I will try it, see if it's safe, then it can be shared amongst those who need it."
He glanced down at the one that he was holding onto before easing his hold a bit, "No more running off or throwing yourself into the gate." He told him in the sternest tone he could muster, the sort he used when his sons, well more like Aysun, did something foolish, "You should listen to your... ahhh... aunt?" He wasn't really sure on that one, given the relationship he had with Keilana, her being the mother of his children and a friend, he couldn't really assume this woman was actually with the boy's uncle.
It was about then that the Ice Tribeswoman appeared and started to talk, a lot, giving them the run down of a plan that she and a friend of hers had come up with. Chalcedony listened with an open mind, but quickly found himself a bit iffy. Looking around for a moment he said, "I am not saying that it's a bad plan but I do see problems with it, that being if they have any archers as competant as one that I know from Tale." He murmured, not spotting any archers straight away but that might be because they were at strategic points around the camp. There was always the chance that they were looking out though and not in given that their cage already had eyes on him. Giving a thoughtful sound he added, "There is also the fact that amongst those here there are a lot of untrained prentices, injured, and then..." He seemed to consider his words a moment before motioning to Senja.
"A captive would be useful, especially the noble woman you speak of, but if there were a way to create a more distant disturbance to get some eyes off of us." He mused, then glanced over at Senja, "You Sprite, how well does it take orders?" He found himself asking.
Giving the Icetribeswoman a nod he said, "I agree with breaking up the groups, for the moment I will stay with these two, just until I know that he can behave himself." He told her, knowing that staying if bigger groups would in fact draw attention. Perhaps he could set to circling around the area, getting a feel for the cage and the lay out of what was beyond it? If they could get a good diversion going it would give them a chance to get their hostages and for everyone to get out. Chalcedony on the other hand, he might need to stand his ground to make sure the others were able to escaped even if it meant taking on whatever Obans got between everyone here and safety.

Ichil - post 5
Her brow furrowed seeing the sudden uproar within the pen. What exactly had caused it all was beyond her, perhaps the blonde boy who had apparently taken to the Oban side? Either way, the food had been rejected and the captives were still grouping. What were they meant to do to help, then? Was the effort so useless when these people had been at the hands of the Captain and his men? This was a time she might be able to use her father's rank to try and assist, but then he would undoubtedly punish her and banish her to the tents. She could not sit idly by, not when things were going like this.
She was surprised to see Shalvesta take up a defensive position. Yes, she wasn't sure she liked the idea of leaving Naevius alone either. She nodded to Shalvesta, but shook her head as she spoke. She would not be leaving two good friends alone like this.
"No, we will stay here," she said definitively, "You of all of us are in the most danger here. Where are your guards, anyway?" Wouldn't someone of Naevius' rank have some? Or was this young man who now approached them all she had? oh my, had she escaped the noble tents stealthily too?
Sebastien - post 6
He offered a nod to Naevius at her thanks and settled a few feet away from the young women. He had no business being a part of their conversation, social rank aside.
It was odd, he thought, how what had seemed like such a good idea could go so bad so quickly. One little spark had set the captives to boiling, and he had been greatly outnumbered. There had been real danger there, and conflict even with something so simply as offering food. It seemed as if the Captain had bitten off more than he could chew, although he doubted that the man realized it. Not one of these people would be suggesting a surrender any time soon.
BarAmal: Post 2/2 Location:Captured Tents ---> Following but loosing Sawenah
Briefly he considered climbing the tree but decided that becoming a target for an oban thinking he was escaping was a bad idea. For a while he walked seemingly aimlessly but he was keeping an eye on the girl he had just been chatting with. She seemed to be chatting with two obans and while he couldn’t see their faces their postures were aggressive and one of them simply reached forward and grabbed her taking her off. Swearing to himself he nearly rushed the guard. There was simply something about someone hurting a woman that made him instantly view the guard as scum.
He moved along the camp keeping tabs on her where he could around tents. Trying to get around and see he bumped into a few others. Apologizing quietly he never bothered to look at them directly his eyes were focused on the fleeting form of his would be partner in this case. He swore quietly to himself as he finally lost sight of her. He was giving to give them a few moments but if she was delayed to long he had a horrible feeling that he was to get very injured and there might be a riot started.
