Puck was still relatively low level and the Blizzard knocked her out cold in an instant before sweeping her away on the winds.
Char, more resilient, had time and strength enough to dive for cover; he crashed awkwardly through the branches of a tree and landed hard, panting and shaking his head in an attempt to clear it.
Aulus' dex was chattering to the ground where it had fallen when he'd grabbed at his mega stone. The Agent himself was pitched out of his perch by the onslaught of ice and wind; he rolled as he landed but it was still jarring and for a few moments all he could do was lie there struggling to get air back into his lungs. As soon as he could he scrambled upright, shielding his face from the weather as best he could. Tam. Where was Tam? "Tam!" Aulus bellowed, hoping but doubting that his voice would carry over the storm. Which way had she gone? The fall from the tree had disoriented him and he couldn't see too far thanks to the billowing snow.
Killer - just as instructed - threw up at Protect over Tam as the storm surged down at them, quickly ducking behind the protective barrier himself. As it turned out perhaps it wasn't strictly needed but at least for a little while he was managing to maintain a tiny bubble of calm in the storm.
Phaethon, who was outside the bubble, gave a cry of distress; he had just been gathering himself to leap and try to catch Pygi but now he couldn't see her anymore, or much at all for that matter.

Pygi, out cold, and looking rather broken and battered, lay in the trees not -too- far away from Aulus' position, where she'd landed with a bit of a crash. She was likely not going to be flying for a little while. Ice still clung to her feathers, but a few patches of red also showed; it wasn't a good looking mix with one of her wings at a rather improbable angle.
Tambrey's 'dex was, unfortunately, lying in the snow now, still displaying a hologram of a Caterpie, until the snow blocked the projector. The agent, herself, was trying to fight her way through the blizzard to where she'd thought Pygi was going to end up... But it was rather difficult to navigate the storm, even from within the 'Protect bubble'. Unfortunately, she'd gotten slightly off track, heading in just slightly the wrong direction. She could just about hear someone- Aulus- shouting her name... Where was he? She shuddered a little; she was -not- dressed for snow... "... Aulus?!" She needed to find him but... she needed to find Pygi. "Pygi?!"

"Tam?" Aulus headed for the voice, stumbling now and again on treeroots he couldn't see. He also failed to see Pygi in the tree.
Gradually however the almighty blizzard began to abate and the blazing sunshine of Drought began to take over once more.
Char picked himself up slowly and painfully, trying to muster the strength to resist another attack but none came. He squinted upwards at the blue sky above but there was no sign of the legendary. Rumbling deep in his chest he headed towards the sound of a human voice and soon located Aulus' dex, which he picked up. "Charrrrr," he said in what he hoped was a reassuring tone of voice; he could hear Tam and Aulus shouting now too so they were alive and presumably reasonably intact.... But where was Pygi? After a couple of moment he spotted her sprawled in a nearby tree and with an alarm bellow to attract his master's attention he hastened over to her.

"Aulus? Where are you? Are you alright? Do you see Pygi?" She sounded worried. She also wouldn't be immediately visible even as the storm abated- being rather a few trees away by now. She did turn to try and head for where she -thought- she heard Aulus though... and then Char's bellow. "Char?!" What was that? Was Char still under attack?

"I'm fine, you?" Aulus called, still trying to pinpoint his partner. "I don't-" At that point he heard Char's call, spun around and took off at a dead run; that noise was not a good noise, it was a call for help. Phaethon burst out of some thick bushes and overtook him after a few paces; he followed after his longtime friend, trusting in the Rapidash's superior directional hearing.
It wasn't long before he found Char and then it was only a couple of moments before he saw Pygi. "s**t!" This time Aulus was up in the branches before he was consciously aware of the decision to climb. Heart in his mouth he lent over the slumped bird and only relaxed a fraction when he saw her breathing; it was a start but the rest... the rest was not good at all. "Tam, over here! Get Pygi's pokeball out ready, you need to call her back!" Inside a pokeball matters didn't get worse at least.
Phaethon added his own call to Aulus' and turned around to head back the way he'd come just in case Tam and Killer hadn't been able to follow him.

"Uh. I think I'm okay. Just kinda worried about Pygi..." So. He -was- over there. Well. Okay, head that way then, follow Phaethon... It was, of course, a slower pace than the horse was capable of, but Tambrey -was- following at least.
She already had Pygi's ball out by the time she arrived where the others were, and gasped, her face contorting with some pain, non-physical, as she saw just where her Pidgeot had ended up. "Oh s**t.. s**t! Pygi?!" No response. But... there was breathing; she could see that. "Oh s**t. s**t, s**t, s**t!" She recalled the bird, and cradled the ball to her chest. "We've got to get back... Which way is back?" In her slightly panicked state, she was probably ready to try and walk straight back if she had to.
Two rather confused, and worried, bugs, sat on either shoulder. They hadn't seen Tambrey like this before. Even Pili realised this wasn't a fun thing.

"Hey, hey, it's okay," Aulus half climbed half slid out of the tree and hastened over to his partner, concern etching deep lines into his scarred slightly scratched up face and softening his sharp red eyes. "Hey, look at me," he reached up to give Tam's shoulder a gentle squeeze and lent down to be on eye level with her. "It's going to be okay, okay? They were sending us backup, they'll be here soon and then we can go back." s**t, he wanted- he really wanted to stay here and comb the whole area for feathers so he didn't feel like he'd somehow failed but he couldn't do that, Tam was what mattered most right now.
Speaking of backup though; "Char, dex." He reached out for it without looking away from Tam and because Char was Char it was promptly placed in his hand as the effects of mega evolution dissipated. "Base, Agent Aulus here. Tambery and I are okay but her Pidgeot is going to need some treatment.... Articuno's vanished, I'm sorry." What more could they have done? Nothing he could think of, or at least nothing sane. "Can I get an ETA? Need to get our teams back to base for treatment." Speaking of, where was Puck? Damn, he didn't want to go without her.... Maybe he could leave Phaeth to search, he seemed to be unhurt and Aulus knew he could count on him.

Tambrey continued, with one hand, to clutch Pygi's ball to her chest. Until she could get the Pidgeot treatment, she was unlikely to let go of it. "I should have trained Octavia... Or brought Lasi to catch her... I... She's hurt and that's my fault... I wasn't prepared. And I was slow... And what if it comes back? We've got to get out of here and I... I need to get her back to base." Tambrey shook her head. "I should've been more prepared..."
She did go quiet then, especially as Aulus was talking into his 'dex. She realised that getting back would be hastened if she knew when the back up was arriving. "The snow. We need to bag some snow. Analyze it." There was -not- likely to be genetic material in snow; it was a bit of a grasp at straws. "Pygi got hurt and we lost the bird anyway..."
She hadn't realised she'd lost her 'dex yet.

Though not exactly sure of the protocol of this kind of thing or where Tam stood with it Aulus made a decision and stepped forward to pull his partner into a hug. It was a bit of a lopsided one what with only having about a third of an arm on the right side but it was the best he could do. "Neither of us were prepared," he replied, "and even if we had been two people couldn't be expected to face down a legendary. It's not your fault, and it's going to be alright."
Perhaps he should have suggested they leg it at first sight of the legendary rather than trying to plan out how to get a sample, perhaps he should have advised against Tam getting Pygi out at all. Perhaps it was his fault, he was supposed to be the field agent. Some good he was.
He gave Tam a squeeze.
"I'll get you some snow, okay?"

She might have been a little more surprised if she hadn't kind of needed the hug. Tambrey frowned but nodded a little, though she kept her eyes down for the moment. That did make sense. There were two of them, and Articuno was a powerful legendary. Perhaps that they'd survived, or even held its attention, at all was impressive enough. But she dismissed the rational thought almost immediately with a shake of her head and a single thought regarding the ball in her hand. "I... I need to train more. Need to be more prepared. Snow." She nodded, and managed an unsure smile; getting the snow was good. "It might... show us something." She wasn't sure what, she just didn't want to go back entirely empty-handed. "Chemical spectrum or... something..."

"We have a group headed towards your location now," came the familiar voice through Aulus's dex, "but they were delayed by the sudden blizzard. Should be there in another minute or two. They'll also scout the area and see if they can find anything useful."

As the voice came over his dex Aulus closed his eyes and sighed heavily, keeping the device lowered so that the person on the other end of the line didn't hear the exhalation. After a few moments he raised it again to say; "Copy that, over and out for now." With that communicated he shut his dex with a snap and shoved it back into his pocket, repressing the urge to cuss and struggle when it didn't seem to want to fit in first try.
"We'll train together," he said to Tam as he fetched his berry box out of another pocket, flicked it open and shook the contents out on the ground before stooping to collect some snow in it. "I do a lot of it so, well, yeah, any time." He closed the box, returned it to its pocket and moved to straighten up again but found himself feeling faintly giddy so he stayed crouched on the ground to give himself a moment to recover. He was bruised, he realised, and more than a bit scratched and his back stung with pain from Paul's sudden arrival. His back felt sticky too, probably with blood but not all that much he thought.
As the spider in question finally crept back up onto Aulus' shoulder the Agent shook his head and reached his hand up to Tam. "Give us a hand? I'm fine, just a bit bashed and woozy."

One, maybe two, minutes. That sounded good; it sounded like a short time. It wouldn't be too long before she could get Pygi seen to properly. She didn't have the initiative to point out that the berry case would likely contaminate the sample... Not that she expected very much out of the sample anyway... Instead, she was just rather pleased that they were, at least, leaving with some snow.
But then Aulus was staying on the ground... That was worrying too. "Aulus?" Well... He said he was fine, but she found herself doubting, then worrying, and trying to scrutinize him for injury as she offered a hand to meet his and help him up. "Are you sure? You didn't fall out of the tree, did you?" She realised she hadn't seen his descent...

With Tam's hand for balance he managed to get back to his feet without much trouble and though he felt a little less than perfectly steady still a warmth at his back spoke of Char's presence so he wasn't worried; if he wavered he would be caught. He offered Tam a wan smile. "Sorry, I fell out of the tree. Nothing broken though and I can see straight and I'm talking fine - I assume - I'll be stiff for a few days is all. Think the worst of it was Paul actually; he ran away from that damn popsicle chicken with Shadow Sneak, cut my back up a bit I think but - again - no big deal." Hopefully no stitches would be needed but if they were it wasn't the end of the world, his back was a mess of burn scars and skin grafts anyway.
Paul made a sad little 'Eeeeee' noise and snuggled against Aulus' neck, pawing gently at his face with one foreleg. In response Aulus closed his eyes and lent his head over towards the bug, brushing his cheek gently against the Spinarak's back. "We're all going to be okay, okay? All of us." He sodding well hoped so anyway, he was no medical expert and Pygi had looked bad.... She'd been hurt before though and bounced back, she'd be fine.

She was a scientist not a medic (dammit Jim- the phrase popped into her head, despite the stress) and that, for now, irritated her too. Another thing she couldn't be of help with. She really hoped they hadn't just been through all that for nothing. At least Paul was okay... and Aulus did -seem- okay. Still, she was worried; he admitted falling out of the tree, and he'd just been 'woozy', and he, apparently, had a cut back... His reassurance was good, but the help it offered sent her from being fairly panicked to, after taking a deep breath, being rather focused.
"Okay." She went to grab her 'dex to relay a message of her own, but found it missing, and cursed under her breath. Another thing gone wrong. "I lost my 'dex. Uh. You should make sure they're bringing a medic. Even if it's just a cut, it needs to be cleaned up... and stuff, as soon as possible... And you fell out of the tree. I mean. You might feel fine, but, uh, you, know, just in case. Adrenaline might be masking stuff, right?" She had a thought then. Bayleef. The aromatic properties of the pokémon were calming and quite good at making people feel somewhat better. If nothing else, she could do with that chemical influence herself, and so Tambrey released Treestar, after a moment of fumbling with his ball in the same hand that she carried her stick. The Bayleef, worried, a little confused, but glad to be out, stood next to the pair; his worry automatically affecting the output of the scent from his leaf. "I, uh, thought he'd be a good idea right now."
