Sorrow finished off the last of the candies from Rojo's booth, licking the papers clean before putting them in a trash bin. All of her attention was immediately grabbed by Amarus's snack table.
"Woah. Hey. Did you buy these?" She asked. They looked like something out of the shop window.
Could she...?
"This is like, a really killer sign you've got, wow. Look at the detail over there-" She snuck a bite.
It made her feel kind of buzzy.

Her booth was turning into a weird reunion! Zar was probably one of the last boils she expected to see from her past, though. She remembered essentially tormenting him, while she had the chance, when they were young. Like Zar, Amarus had changed substantially-- she had grown up, and she very seldom threw books at anyone.
She still did not enjoy reading.
"I am very pleased to see you here, Zar. Have you enjoyed the carnival thus far?" she asked, her voice soothing by nature. In reality, her game was not as much shooting as it was the luck of what you found inside-- doubly awful, really. That was what life was to Amarus, she supposed. "That is much better than I would have imagined you to do-- please forgive my blunt way of addressing it, I am forever remembering you as the library-dweller and my role as the horrible truant," Amarus said, her lips quirking up into an amused smile.
The newcomer drew her attention, and she bowed to Zar, excusing herself for a moment. "I made them, in fact-- I am very fond of baking, it fascilitates certain, ah, necessities of mine..." Well that was super vague. "I appreciate your kind words," she said, borrowing that same phrase again. "Take as much as you like. I am Amarus, Lotus Eater; I am campaigning to be Vice President, in case you were not aware," she said, with another smile. "What may I call you?"
Amarus watched the ghoul closely, because after all, she had one of the narcotic snacks. Amarus loved that anyone was brave enough to eat them, honestly. It was rewarding. she just wanted to help soothe everyone.Baneful I adore you to hell and back right now for RPing her effect. That is honestly one of only a handful of times anyone has in the three years I have had her -quietly weeping of joy- ALSO updated, you have the high score! O uO

At the squeeze Zaire tried to control an urge to tease his boilfriend. Jory was the most adorable thing he had meet, so far. The mahamba gave a low sort of coo as his chin was in turned nipped, a smirk parting his lips a little wide to show teeth.
"...Thanks babe." His sweet tooth was already indulged, but Jory also said yes, which meant in an instant he was tightening his own hold on the other monster boil and pulling him towards the waving ghoul at the booth.
As they approached the booth Zaire didn't hesitate to reach for a spookie, though his eyes lingered on the brownies. A curious smell coming from them prompted his question towards the pink haired ghoul, "...what's in those...did you make all of this?..." Because food questions were more important to him than election or polite introduction, Jory could handle that right?

An odd little smile slid over blue lips at the term of endearment as Jory kept pace at Zaire's side. He could see why the taller boil wanted to stop here, their were spookies and brownies set out for the taking, and they smelled absolutely delicious. Enough so that even the afanc was drawn, focus shifting from the crowd and down to the plates of snacks. Why the mahamba helped himself to a spookie, Jory took a brownie, giving the ghost ghoul a curious glance as his boilfriend asked abou them. Hand made or not they looked moist and chocolately, so he was taking a bite even before hey had gotten an answer. "There was another passed, it looked pretty. Do you mind if we head back that way?" After they'd had their fill of snacks, of course. "I think I saw the ghoul there handing out candy." He didn't think Zaire would refuse, but he set a little bait regardless.

It had taken her longer than she'd expected, but Mia finally found the time to drop by Amarus' booth, admiring her choice in colours (they were excellent colours ok), and booth decor. While Mia had known the ghoul through previous means, she was still rather impressed by her experience, and thought she'd definitely made a good vice president.
"Amarus, that was quite some speech." She smiled and looked around some more. "How are you doing?"

"A couple," Amarus said, aloud, perhaps ungracefully. She smiled in a sort of wicked way, again. "I hope you have made plans to attend prom, when we have it, this year," Amarus said. She fully remembered the debacle of Zel, and marvelled at how that had ever worked; she also remembered Enzo, and how happy she had been. She had no regrets.
Except that she had not seen Enzo in so very long.
"I have made them all, yes-- thanks to Xiu's guidance, and some assistance from friends, I took up baking quite a long time ago as the hobby to distract me from, ah, my ... vibrant personality," she said. "Help yourself to as many as you like. The election spookies are perfectly safe to eat-- there is a special ingredient you will find nowhere else in the other treats," she said, smiling gently this time.
"I am Amarus, Lotus eater, dear couple. I am campaigning for Vice President, and please keep me in mind for the best catered events one might ever imagine," she said. "Enjoy the rest of the festivities," were her parting words, as the one in the couple was saying something about other booths, and that was in fact the nature of these campaigns.
"Mia!" Amarus said, greeting her, "I have been known, strangely, to grandstand a little," she admitted, with a wide, genuine smile. "I am quite well, though I have seen many and carried on a conversation with few. It is exhausting to repeat my name so very many times," she lamented, very quietly, to her friend who was also campaigning. "How has your campaign been?"

To be honest, Mia was a little guilty of doing the same thing, but the things she spoke of were usually the truth. "There's nothing wrong with listing your qualifications. If anything, I found it quite impressive, and experience is always quite important when running for such positions." Even if one's heart should be in the right place, lack of experience would more than often hinder one's progress.
"I can imagine," she laughed. "But I fear such necessities are important when it comes to these things." Or else, jack forbid, creeple wouldn't know who'd they'd be voting for, and Mia would be loathe to just be known as "that butterfly ghoul". "It's been well! Quite a few students have dropped by, though I imagine this election will be anyone's race. I'm quite impressed by the other candidates."

A special ingredient? On a raise of brow Zaire picked up a brownie as well, smiling to Jory as he did. A rare treat sounded right up his alley, plus Jory had gotten one and he didn't want the other to be the only one potentially suffering since they weren't promised to be safe like the spookies.
At mention of a pretty booth, he started to poke a few more cookies into his pocket. Secretly of course, or as secretly as he could. "Oh...I didn't know you liked ...pretty." Of course he was teasing, but, kind of not as well, it was kind of funny considering he wasn't so pretty.
Amarus, Lotus eater, would have his vote. How could he refuse when she used words like caterer at him? The monster tipped his head silently to the ghoul, watching as she went off with how exhausting things were to an apparent friend before turning down to Jory again. "Lead the way..."

Had Brenley truly understood the intricacies of human pregnancy and had also been psychic, the boil would have been horrified. As it was, he only nodded, taking the spookie he had come here to get with an appreciative nod.
"I am Brenley, or Bren, if you would like to skip straight to informality." He raised his shoulders in a shrug that said he didn't mind either. "It's good to meet you, Amarus." He did manage a small smile after that, chuckling when she mentioned the harmlessness of the snack he had chosen. "Does that mean you have dangerous food here as well?" Though he had enchanted bits of mushroom that he had taken for a time to help him sleep, he had never thought to expand the practice.

The brownie paused half way to the afanc's lips, the color draining from his cheeks to leave him looking pale and flustered. His ears drooped as he tipped his head up to meet bright blue eyes. "Well, it's colorful." He shuffled his feet, toes rubbing against the top of the opposite foot. It was eye catching, he wanted to get a closer look. Sensing his boilfriend was teasing, he finally brought his brownie up, finishing it up in a few bites. "There are really good, Amarus." The spookie he helped himself too next was as well, and he'd flash the lotus eater a smile before she hurried off to greet other students paying her booth a visit. He was licking a bit of chocolate off his thumb when Zaire's deep voice rumbled near his ear, suggesting he lead the way. Pleased, he gave the tall boil a tug, heading back the way they'd come.

It was the scent of something yummy that attracted Thackery to the booth, and the tasty treats were exactly what he made a beeline for. He leaned in to inspect them closely, tail wagging as he licked his lips and inhaled the scent of perfect, delicious sugary excellence. Generally, he would have asked before sampling them, but it seemed that he had forgotten his manners - he plucked up one of the spookies and chomped down on it, devouring it almost entirely with just one bite. " Oh," he contentedly sighed, turning to her with a half-lidded smile. "These are... wow, they're like--I don't even have a word for how good they are. How'd you do that? You've gotta be the best baker in like all of Halloween. All of everywhere."

Amarus was not in the habit of lying, not even in a roundabout way. "Ah, thank you, Mia. You have been quite important in your ways, too, though I have noticed we seldom interact-- probably because I do not often get out," she admitted, shaking her head, bells ringing. "A race, hmm. That is a nice way of putting it, I suppose, though I feel in a race I would win, because I can prepare for a race by learning the terrain and by honing my skills-- it is the same with this, isn't it? One comes naturally, while the other does not. Hmmm. I must think on this," Amarus said, having understood finally some core concept of what she was doing here.
"Ah, yes, many booths are very exciting in their own ways," Amarus agreed with Mia.
It's true, Amarus probably didn't know much about Human Pregnancy either. In fact, nothing. But whatever. "I would prefer formality, if I am honest. Brenley is preferable, in that event," she admitted. "Dangerous? No, not in the usual regard. It is, however, dear to me and it, ah, alters the way one might perceive the world around them. It can be addictive," she equally admitted. If only he had told her about the mushrooms, she would have been fascinated. She had been working for a long time to create plants that fed off her essence and produced more.
To Jory she replied: "Thank you, I am glad you tried them. Have a good carnival," she said. Even if it was the tail end.
The fact that Thackery didn't ask before sampling didn't bother Amarus in the least. In fact, quite the opposite: so few had actually eaten the treats, probably because many booths offered food. "I am so terribly pleased, cute one," Amarus replied, honestly glowing with joy from her aura's brighter flare. "Xiu was my mentor, Bells was crucial in my practice-- I owe success to them, and to my own hard work over the years-- but mostly, to the special ingredient you appear to be entirely compatible with."
Amarus wondered: Did Thackery, in particular, have some affinity for the essence? Or was it that it suited his need? Perhaps it was just a coincidence. "Would you be offended if I asked to, ah," Amarus asked, holding a hand out briefly. She was going to ask if she could pet his hair, honestly, because it seemed nice.

There was sudden silence in the booth, and a very chaotic Demon boil appeared. He stopped, ate like 10 brownies, and babbled very loudly at Amarus. The only thing she could gather, was that his name was Van and he reeeeally loved brownies.
"THEY'RE SO DELICIOUS HOW DID YOU MAKE THESE??"
"With... ingredients," Amarus said, a little overwhelmed by the experience altogether. "I am Amarus, Lotus Eater; I am campaigning for Vice President," she tried, as though that would bring it back on track.
Van, in turn, seemed to have gathered quite a number of grumpkins, and even as he left, many of them stayed behind trying to eat the snacks.
