Mathias wasn't sure what he was getting himself into exactly but down he sat, looking nervously at the nearby face paints.

Moments later, he couldn't recognize himself in the mirror in front of him.

Or what was painted on his face. No matter how hard he squinted.

"Vell, um, danke...." He slid from the seat, hurrying away after a ticket was passed to him, intent on finding a bathroom to wash his face off in.

Amarus was, initially, a little hesitant to try this out. She thought, for a moment. "Quillan," she began, "what do you think it is, to be beautiful?" she asked.

"I would like you to show me," she said, "as best as you can."

Amarus was curious. What was beauty to someone she had never met? Was it more flesh tone? Less of her glow? Darker eyes, wider eyes, brighter eyes? It would be worth it, to see how such a simple and yet nuanced request could be translated.

Amarus didn't mind Quillan's attempt, and wouldn't mind despite however bad he felt about it. In fact, he did mumble something dismissive of his work. "No, I appreciate your attempt at bringing my request to fruition," Amarus corrected the booth operator's self-depreciating attitude.

Uh oh, it seemed there had been a bit more water on the brush than he'd wanted, resulting in a runny mess. Well, hopefully, that would make removing it easier? He made a half cringe - half smile at the boil. He was tempted to chase after the boil to ask about his accent, but he stayed on his stool because he could see he had more customers.



Quillan didn't expect anyone to actually expect something from him ... he wasn't sure what to do. His answer would've been: in that case, maybe I should't paint on your face? - but he just said "I-I'll give it my best shot!"

He made some simple swirls and marks that he hoped would accent the ghoul's face, like makeup, and he tried really hard to make it really nice, but art was far from his strong suit (and like every time he did a face paint, the question of why he was running a face painting booth bore a hole into his mind), and it ended up quite lopsided.

Face painting? Sure, he'd be willing to try that! The ink itself gave him a moment of pause, but he wasn't wearing anything terribly at risk of being utterly ruined should ink stain it. Once it was his turn, he stepped up and sat down, having used that time to figure out what it was he would like drawn on himself in the first place.

"I would like a simple pattern, please."

Some moments later, when the demon was done, he glanced over to the mirror to see how it had come out. ...Well, it would wash off, right? It wasn't like it was permanent.

Sludge rather liked the snake that had been painted on his cheek. Although it wasn't what he had requested, he figured Quillan had painted it because he had hissed at him like a snake would.

It still looked really nice.

Nova bounces into the booth ran by the pretty and takes a seat on the empty stool, he eagerly requests, "Would you please paint a Copy of the Night Sky Over Amity on my face? Can it be in blue and yellow?" to Quillan. "I saw this really nice sky last night while I was on the roof. There must have been some odd gas in the air right over my family's house because it was all swirly-like. Do you like the night sky? I do, but last night was prettier than normal. Like a Jack-level different thing, I wounder if Jack ever saw a sky like that? Maybe it'll look like that again tonight but over someone else's home. Maybe it will be over where you stay, would you like that?" This is all said very quickly and in one breath.

The poor Ink Demon, Nova had requested something that only he could see in his own mind and poorly described it. This time however it was a much bigger project for Quillan and a much more spectacular failure sight to see in the end...
