Freakshow didn't like being yelled at. He wasn't sure what Salem was saying, or even of what context to place these incomprehensible words into. But he knew he didn't like getting yelled at. He also knew he didn't like getting thrown face first into a cage, ouch, and tossed into a steel ring post. The businessman goes bumbling and staggering around the corner before flopping onto his face.

Freakshow smacked against the steel corner with a decent degree of force, sufficient enough to stun the veteran and send him stumbling around the ring's edge only to fall flat on his face much to the crowd's delight. Salem, though, wasn't getting the same kind of pleasure out of this pain. This was catharsis for the young warrior, an opportunity to purge the anger and frustration that had been building since he'd lost his historic world title reign at the intervention of Ryan Killman. Approaching Freak from the adjacent side of the ring, Salem lifted a foot and stomped his boot into the steel steps, looking to dislodge the top section from the base and send it into the prone Freakshow lying on the opposite side of the stairs!

CRASH

The steel steps smash against the floor. While the action was obscured for some, the mere sound, one that implied an ugly demise for Freak, got a rather sizable reaction. The reality was that the slippery New Yorker had taken refuge underneath the ring. Upon hitting the floor the fight or flight instincts kicked in with a favor towards the latter, Freak, while thouroughly rattled for sure, was nowhere to be found.

Salem stalked towards the disheveled set of steps, disgruntled to find that Freakshow wasn't beneath the stele he'd kicked over. The rat was trapped with the snake inside a cage, and yet the wily weasel was managing to avoid Salem at every conceivable turn. Reaching up to run a hand through his bangs, wiping the black hair that clung to his brow from being so thick with sweat in the Summer heat, Salem tilted a head back and laughed, because what else could he really do? Sure, he was irritated - but no matter where Freak chose to hide, the fact remained that someone was going into a casket. So, slapping his chest a few times to jolt his irritation away, Salem growled, huffing as he paced around the ring apron, looking into the shadows beneath the squared circle's skirt.

The fans quickly grow impatient with Freaks Houdini ********. They smelled blood in the water and they wanted the meat on a platter, sooner rather than later. Sooner, rather than later, Freakshow emerged from under the opposite side of the ring. He hadn't gotten any prettier. His wound had just started to leak a little slower, only a marginal improvement. In Freaks hand he clutches a plastic bag with a string attached to it, an unorthodox weapon, if even that. He lays on the floor panting, he scans he nearby environment, noting yet another set of steps. Unable to detect an semblance of Croft, Freak uses his foot to shove over the top of the second, last steps. Upon impact of the steel he would scurry back under the ring.

Salem was studying the apron for any movement as he circled the perimeter of the ring, but it wasn't until he heard the stairs clanking on the side across from him that he had any indication of where to look. Heading off towards the sound, Salem watched closely as he came around the corner where the steps had been knocked over.

"..Gotcha," Just as planned Freakshow slips back out from under the ring, right behind Croft. Hoisting himself to an off-center center, the scarred veteran, palm red with his own fresh blood, reaches forward to slide his hand sharply across the eyes of Salem. Then, in one swift motion, he would bring the plastic bag looping over his opponents head. With twitchy but remarkable dexterity he'd quickly work at wrapping the drawstring around the young mans neck to cut off any opportunity at oxygen in addition to digging his forearm into the fan favorites throat to complete the choke.

The crowd noise ticks up in intensity as Salem rounded the corner, but "The Copperhead" didn't notice its intention before he was seeing red - his eyes, raked from behind by the bloody fingers of Freakshow. The copper smell of sanguine stains Croft's nostrils, but before he could even reach up to wipe his vision clean the former champ would find his head bagged up, a cord being wound around his throat to try and wear down Salem's stamina. His oxygen being cut off, Salem gasped - not fully realizing he had a bag on his head until he'd already taken a stumble forward, falling to a knee. Trying to reach up and claw at the string and plastic, Salem struggled to breathe by breaking free from the improvised strangling!

Freakshow draws the bag tightly around his opponents head. With every passing moment it would grow increasingly difficult for Croft to draw breath. The air in the bag was growing more humid with each recycle. As Salem takes to a knee Freak leans over, taking advantage of his superior leverage and positioning to crank harder on the highly illegal maneuver. Making sure the plastic remained tied, the New Yorker would relinquish the hold before grabbing Crofts arm in a chickenwing, using his free hand to throw several vicious, stiff cross-face blows to the mans bagged head.

Though Salem wasn't faring too well getting the bag off his head, Freakshow was kind enough to let go and instead opt to wrestle one of Croft's arms behind his back to initiating a chicken wing before bludgeoning him in the back of the head. However, had Freak bothered to get out he might've watched "The Dark Knight" in theatres or on DVD at some point, and heard the valuable lesson from the late, great Heath Ledger in facepaint about not working the head so early.

Because of the choke earlier, Salem was still numb as his body fought to restore oxygen to his blood. As a result, the forearms he was taking to the skull weren't stinging as they should have, instead merely feeling like firm nudges as the nerves in Salem's arm made certain Croft knew they were working. Reaching out with his spare hand, Salem clawed at the mat next to the ring while struggling to get his balance underneath him! If he could only stand back up, maybe he could change his position!

Freakshow, after getting his shots in, loops his forearm back around his opponents neck. He hauls the dead weight of his opponent back up, using the momentum to slump the rookie over into the ring. Staying on the grind, Freak slithers under the ropes and ontop of Salem, hooking his legs around the rookies waist like a snake, he'd roll barrel roll himself and his opponent to the center of the ring in a rare display of amateur wrestling skills by the European trained technician. If successful, he would find himself back mounting his opponent in the center of the ring. With one hand grasped around the back of the neck, forcing the man face first into the ground, Freak would attempt to insure complacency by throwing a series of vicious elbows smashes to the back of the head. The Midnight Marauder, more and more a finesse player in recent years, had regressed to the drug-fueled scrappy brutality of his deathmatch days.

Salem, just having nearly been asphyxiated earlier by the plastic bag improvised into an attack by Freakshow, was still too winded to defend himself properly, rolled into the ring and pinned to the mat by his greasy opponent's weight. Despite being a strung-out, overweight a*****e, Freak was still a gifted technical wrestler, as evidenced by their previous performance together. That didn't seem to matter much, though, as it wasn't a grapple that the MMI overlord went to initiate, but rather a series of clubbing blows to the back of Salem's head delivered in quick, furious fashion.

"The Copperhead" was struggling to reach his arms out and push back up to a vertical base, but between the weight saddled against his back and the stiff strikes he was eating unseen, he accomplished little more than inspire a false hope to the crowd that he could defy his current predicament. While fans tried to rally behind their fallen hero, Salem's head bobbled with every hit, dazing the former champion and halting any progress he made at trying to get back up.

"UGH! UGH!"

The smoker wheezes with each clubbing smash to the back of the head. Panting the crimson masked nightclub owner placed both of his hands on the ground, taking a second to collect his breath before he proceeded with his attack. "Ok... Ok..." Blinking through the blood he disengages from the mount, finally sliding the plastic bag from off of his opponents head. Grabbing a handful of Crofts hair he slowly makes his way up to a wobbly base. Standing above Salem he would dangle the slumped over superstars head a few feet above the ground. Then, letting him drop, he would swing his foot forward to meet his temple with a very ugly looking soccer kick!

Gasping for breath, Salem looked like a beaten dog as he lay limp and lethargic, struggling to move, to even breathe after the graphic manner in which he'd been choked and clubbed. In his current state, Salem couldn't even discern whether or not the wet, stinging feeling on the back of his head was from a freshly opened wound or the bitter sweat from the midday sun bearing down on him. Still, it was strange how blank the mind went when caught in a fight for one's life. Behind his serpentine eyes, "The Copperhead" was swimming in a dark, cold place within the depths of his mind. There, not even pain could touch him - he was removed, separated from his current circumstances by the most primal urge to survive.

Trying weakly to put his hands down against the canvas as Freakshow lifted his head, it almost seemed like Salem might manage to avoid his fate...that was, until Freak let go and swung his foot forward, punting Croft in the cranium with a firm kick! Head snapping to the side, Salem fell limp to his side, eyes barely cracked open after taking the blow!

CRACK

The audience groans in sympathy. Freak, thrown off balance by the force of his own kick, windmills his arms backwards before falling onto his a** unceremoniously. To worn down to recover from his tumble he tilts back into the ropes, groaning to himself as he linked his arms around the bottom, resting his head, staring up into the lights. The offensive flurry had its price. The new yorker rocks back and forth, trying to regain some kind of energy as the fans began clapping in unison as a means of encouraging both men, or rather just Croft, to resuscitate.

"Stay down you pig s**t.."
