For a moment, Jake was happy with the fact he got himself out of a very aggravating headlock. But once he was able to look up, he found a heel thrown at his face seemingly out of nowhere. By the looks of it, Jake was out cold after the foreign kick to the face. He laid on his back, his arms and legs extended and limp after the impact of the kick. Roman's face was stinging from all the damage it had took, but the fact that be wasn't moving at all on the ground besides a few blinks convinced fans that this was over.

Assuming that Roman was out cold and as knocked out as he looked, perhaps Aiden's new display of technique truly was a keeper. From the roll, Aiden landed on both legs and nearly had a front row seat to Roman crashing and burning right next to him. Having yet to put forth a pin attempt today, Aiden felt it was at least a pinnacle moment to give it a shot for the moment. Crawling over and pushing roman over before hooking Roman's leg, Aiden looked to the referee to make the counts to see if Roman truly was down and out.

One!
Two!
...
Jake shot his arm up into the air 2.7 seconds into the referee's count, causing the fans to pop quite loudly for this match's babyface showing signs of life. Roman's face was side now, sporadically shaking his head and blinking his eyes often to shake off any damage done. Not that it was going to make any physical stress endured tonight go away.

Aiden was not down and out just yet. Not even close. Both men had taken some interesting maneuvers throughout the match and equally, they were pretty tired. It was unique with how Aiden hadn't done any grapple moves and had still done a number to Jake thus far. Clear showing that Aiden was truly a Striker and an Aerialist. He knew a few mild, easy submissions. But nothing that are as flashy or powerhouse like Jake's. However, maybe he'd be able to put something to work here. Taking a page out of Jake's ground game, Aiden noticed that Jake hadn't stood up yet. As Aiden slowly got to his knees, he'd look to launch his body forward to coil an arm around Jake's neck and lean back to apply a quick side headlock.

Unfortunately, there was no time to get to his feet as the side headlock continued to ache his throbbing skull. There were many moments that passed as Jake would slap the mat on occasion out of frustration; for the moment, Aiden was beating him at his own mat gamesmanship. The fans started to progressively clap in a rhythmic tone for the kid, giving him extra encouragement to roll to a knee against Covell's strength. Roman was always going to be the stronger man, but his opponent by far was the most unpredictable. When he got to a knee, the headlock still aggravating his areas of pain, Jake would go to shoot his fist towards Aiden's abdomen to try and weaken the hold.

Locked in tight, Aiden essentially felt as if he had the upper hand at this moment in time. Jake's head was trapped within the coil and flex of Aiden's right arm, enduring a headlock that put both men on their knees. No one in standing up as it would easily put Jake in a better predicament to push Aiden away. However, leave it to Jake to find another method of putting a painful dose of return fire against Aiden. Punches against Aiden's stomach would make Aiden clench his teeth, trying to ignore the pain. However, Aiden looked to possibly pull another page out of Jake's book by slamming his back against the mat with Jake still locked in the hold and wrapping his legs around Jake securely. Maybe now Jake would find trouble.

The whiplash that would follow Aiden dropping to his back would do no favors for the ongoing stress Jake was going through from the neck up. There was no time to allow himself to be more open than he already was, however, so Roman eliminated any chance of his neck being vulnerable by digging his chin into his chest. It didn't take five matches to realize that he had a seventy pound advantage on Aiden, but he was limited in his options of making the high-flyer turned mat wrestler uncomfortable. But Covell had made himself prone by not only letting Jake's weight rest on him, but by putting his back on the canvas willingly. The twenty-year-old would look to shift his weight constantly in order to put Aiden's shoulders flat on the mat.

Perhaps, Aiden should have thought this one through. He couldn't blame it on a 'rookie mistake' since he was in the company for five weeks now. But perhaps he'd know better at this point. No doubt, Jake's chin digging into his side was becoming a bother. Whether it was the five o'clock shadow that was rough, or the fact that Jake had such a thin, chiseled jaw line. Regardless, Aiden wasn't too comfortable at this point. One! . . . Two! . . Wait.. what? What the hell? Aiden moved rather quickly as he heard the palm of the referee start slapping the mat. Clearly, Aiden forgot about keeping his shoulders up. Well ******** that. Letting go of Jake, Aiden put his arms behind him to grip ahold of the middle ropes and slide himself from underneath Jake. Sure, that left his legs in front of him exposed. But at least he'd be away from most danger for now. Still seated on the mat, Aiden would hopefully find himself standing up without resistance. But one couldn't be so sure.

The exposed cuts on his arm were nearly forgotten about thanks to the damage done on Jake's head. The Koppu Kick to the mouth, the Pele Kick to the forehead, and the Matrix Wall Kick off the middle turnbuckle were only a few highlights of the offense Aiden had got to display that made put his face in a world of agony. Jake rolled to his knees and, in a groggy yet stupid manner, rested his a** on his heels to catch a break. He opened his eyes to see Aiden abandoning only a handful of feet in front of him. Time to think fast.

Thankfully, there was enough space for Aiden and Jake to both collectively catch a second or two of breath. Not only that, but the chance to get up and determine what their next set of moves would be. Seeing as how Jake had tried to put in one of his patented signatures early on in the match, Aiden only felt it fair to look for an opening to set up his own. He'd wait for Jake to get up though, but he wouldn't give away his secret thought process just yet.

Aiden's emotionless and calculated approaches were lethal, and it had taken its toll on Jake for the fifth week in a row. How about a little passion? When Roman stumbled to his feet, he simultaneously raised two fingers in the air. In fact, they happened to be the middle finger on each one of his hands. In an exhausted yet provoking tone, Jake muttered a five-letter word through his grin, hoping to force frustration interrupt the striker's methodical approach: "P.ussy."

Taunting never got anywhere. As a matter of fact, normally, it was laughed off. Aiden had given Jake several opportunities to keep the match evenly paced and make sure to display more than was expected of Aiden. However, Jake seemed to just want more punishment. That, or he was goading Aiden into an attack phase which would be scouted and blocked. In that case, fine. Aiden walked up and made sure to put some emphasis behind a close-handed slap across the face of Jake. But he additionally decided to raise his leg and push it forward to aim for a kick to the gut. Expecting a reversal or a catch however, he'd look to turn that reversal into a Dragon Whip kick.

Jake took the cold-blooded slap hard to the face, but like any cowardly slap, it didn't knock him off his feet. It stung immensely despite Jake not showing any pain from it, and the volume of it made the crowd unanimously say "OHHH" from its echo. However, the Empire had caught the expected kick to the gut. In fact, he even anticipated an enziguri, but he could not predict the Dragon Whip cold-clocking him in the jaw. Once again, Jake's legs turned to jelly and he fell flat on his face. It had seemed he was assuming the role of Aiden's b***h for a huge portion of this match.

Now, there was definite emotion behind Aiden as he was pushed to the edge. Being insulted with two middle fingers and the expectation that he wouldn't respond? Right. Seeing Jake tower down the ground like a hunk of bricks, Aiden looked to capitalize on the moment. Due to Jake landing on his stomach, he was in perfect position for Aiden to even the signature move score. Kneeling down, Aiden looked to slap on a punishing Lock Down just to show Jake just how in the zone he truly was and who REALLY wanted to win this match more.

Honestly, it was discouraging to be losing at his forte. Both men had tried so hard to take completely different fighting styles to their sudden death match, and it seemed as if Aiden was the only one really succeeding. Yelling in misery was Jake, the calf killer ready to bend his leg at grotesque angles at any moment. Desperate times always called for desperate measures, however. As the fans chattered louder and louder, their suspense rising as the submission continued, Jake went to put his arms around Aiden's neck. Rising his chest, the hero of this contest went to bash Covell's jaw in with relentless headbutts until the high flyer gave way.
