Making her way to the map in the middle of the square, Rose noticed a group of four others heading towards the map as well. Not that she needed to look at it—she had gotten directions to the inn from another preternatural creature when she had stopped at a diner at the edge of town—she just wanted to see why these people all seemed very powerful, and very...ancient.
She made it there quicker than she thought, though, and thought for a second if she should wait for them to come to her or if she should approach them. I need to go to them, she decided. Hopefully, they won't think I'm an enemy if I do.
Walking towards them, her eyes and ears told her that the man who seemed powerful and ancient was not familiar with the others he conversed with, but that he enjoyed telling the others about himself and what he was, the woman was obviously powerful or in a position of power, from the way she walked, and the other man beside her seemed to be her body guard. Her nose told her that the woman smelled like bear and ice, the stranger like water, chaos, and magic, and the body guard was to far away and the wind facing the wrong way to tell her anything about him.
"Good afternoon, friends. I apologise if I am interrupting an important conversation, but I noticed that you were all headed toward the town map over there," she gestured toward the map displayed in the square with a jerk of her head and continued, "and I thought I might be able to help you find where you're going, which is most likely a diner or the inn, since it's evening."

Kakumei stopped in his tracks, looking at the female who hailed them.
Immediately, he raised his hand. "I would love both of those things. Oh crap...Wait, I don't think I have any currency that would work here. I have gold... Like blocks of it. Does that work? Blocks of gold? Is that still valuable up here?"
He scratched his head, still trying to get his mind wrapped around the dealings of the surface world.

Armel blinked in reply to his queen's orders. No words were needed for him to convey the obvious. He was given an order and it would be followed through without hesitation and with perfection. However, as he began walking in the direction of the map, a pale young woman with auburn hair approached them. Armel braced against potential danger, but she posed none. She smelled of the forest and its animals, but she did not smell dangerous. Irritating, but useful as she knew where the local inn was located.
Relaxing his muscles, Armel kept his gaze on both the Arahitogami and the young woman. Though they appeared not to be threats, people's hearts changed on a whim, no matter the species. He would be cautious around the Arahitogami for, as the ancient man explained, his bones were made of ceramic steel and he could control the strange energy called Nyctions as well as chaos energy. He was someone Armel could never hope to beat if he decided to attack his queen. The young woman, however, looked easy to dispatch.

Rose saw the body guard tense up when she had called out to them, but he looked relaxed now. She refused to worry about if it was a false front, because then she would tense up, too. That would not be good, so instead, she answered the other man's question.
"Yeah, gold is still valuable up here, but you'll probably have to go to a pawn shop to get anything for it—money or services. I got here earlier myself, and the lady at the inn seems nice enough. You could probably arrange something with her if you don't have any currency that works up here."
She added the last part, her keen ears having picked up the bit about them living underground. She was bursting with questions, but she had learned to keep those to herself when faced with a possible enemy—though she hoped they wouldn't be—anywhere nearby, and especially in a group. So, she gestured toward the street with the inn and adapted a posture that would tell the bodyguard she didn't mean any harm and the other two that she wouldn't interrupt their conversation any further, unless they pulled her into it—body language is a powerful thing.

"Does the Inn have food? Or is that the Diner? I'm not quite sure which is which. This language is hard with its... Locations..." Kakumei seemed to frown as he was at a loss for words for a moment. "I've not eaten in quite some time, so that is my first goal. Is that something you could help me out with?" He asked the new girl curiously.

"The Inn has rooms where you can sleep and relax, and Diners have food. There are multiple places to eat here, so where we go depends on what you're hungry for." Rose told the very powerful—and now also very confused—man. "Since you don't have any currency that works here, I'll pay for your food." She wasn't sure, but these three all looked like predators, and if they were... Best to keep them happy and feed.

Armel glanced at the auburn-haired woman as she explained to the Arahitogami about currency and gold, inns and diners. The town itself was strange, he saw people begin to appear on the streets, all dressed for a ball, but many shaken up and wary of the long night they experienced. Armel remained near his queen to prevent any of these new people from approaching them. He heard the sirens of an ambulance work its way through the streets before disappearing off in the direct the people came.
Squaring his shoulders and standing in attention, Armel spoke to his queen, quick, terse. and clear: "All local inns provide food and shelter. The inn is the best location. I will negotiate currency with the desk clerk—and managers if need be." His queen was his first priority. If his queen allowed the auburn-haired woman to guide them, as well as the Arahitogami, to the inn, it would aide him in properly serving his queen. Her safety and health came before all else.

Rose was surprised to hear the bodyguard speak, and when he addressed the regal woman, she realised that the other woman had not spoken much, if at all. "So to the inn, then?" she asked the group before her, but mostly the woman, who seemed to be in charge. At least, the bodyguard saw her and her needs as a priority.

"If the Inn is the best place to be, then by all means." He nodded and smiled softly. "And I thank you for the help. I can, repay you somehow." Kakumei spoke in the kindest and most sincere tone. "Perhaps if these two come as well, we can talk more. Though, it is of course, up to them."

"That sounds like a good plan to me. What say you, miss?" Rose responded to the one man first, the question aimed—politely—at the woman.

[Please wait for Loiiy to post before posting again. It may take some time, but she will post.]
Armel glanced from the woman and the Arahitogami as he waited for his queen to decide their fate. Her obvious choice would be to allow them to escort her to the inn. However, Armel had one annoyance he would like addressed before his sovereign and queen allowed anyone to escort her to any sort of place. His expression spoke of his dissatisfaction as he listened to them speak to his queen, friendly and without reverence. He was not comfortable with the woman leading them to the inn, especially with the Arahitogami. He had explained, most graciously, to his queen about his people, but he had yet to offer his own name. The same could be said of the auburn-haired woman. The Arahitogami knew both his queen's name and his own. His queen was at the disadvantage, which did not sit well with him. She was his queen and must have the advantage as often as possible.

[Sorry I am so late posting! Collage is keeping me really busy, but I'm not usually so slow. ]
Amaya listened silently to the exchange the new woman and Kakumei had, analyzing. It wasn't until Armel, and then the new woman addressed her directly that she piped up. "I am ready to find somewhere to eat and sleep. If you can show us the way there, I will follow you. Let's head there swiftly." She still didn't know what the woman was capable of, she she would stay cautious. She knew the swifter the better. Armel was clearly on edge and she could guess at why. Best not to test his patience much tonight.

[no worries! been there, done that. totally sucks. don't feel bad if you need some time to get back to the RP.]
Rose released a breath that she hadn't realised she'd been holding, now that the woman had agreed to let her show them the way to the inn. "This way, then. Oh, and my name is Rose, by the way. Rose Cameron. I'm a shapeshifter." She introduced herself, realising that everyone was nervous and on edge from not knowing much about each other, so she talked a little more as she walked.
"You name the animal, I can change into it, though I prefer running as a wolf or horse or flying as an owl. Because of that, my nose, eyes, and ears are slightly better when I'm human, and shifting helps me heal faster." She told them what she knew about her abilities, but didn't expect them to tell her anything more than their names. She did, however, want them to know she didn't want to start a fight.

Armel stood in attention, waiting for his queen's orders to follow wherever she went. Now that his queen had settled matters, Armel would be able to better serve her. This was especially true when the auburn-haired woman properly introduced herself to his queen. She called herself Rose Cameron, a shapeshifter, though she shifted into more than one animal. It was unusual as most shapeshifters were limited to one animal. A possibility of Rose having elfin ancestry or she had multiple shapeshifter lineages. Or both. Of all the books he read as a child in preparation to be a royal guard, he only read about shapeshifters with multiple animals with those three scenarios. It would only be natural that his queen would be curious about this woman as well. She was an interesting specimen and far less dangerous than the Arahitogami who stood before them. Two different people, both potentially equally interesting from the point of view of his queen. If she required him to befriend either of these people, he would do so with all his abilities as a royal guard.

Kakumei's stomach growled, and his hand patted his stomach. "Alright.. I haven't eaten in like a month, so let's get moving! Well... Following the guide... I mean... And the Princess... And yeah I shall start with the shutting up..."
He hung his head down a bit, but then perked up a bit as he saw some birds flying over them. "Whoa...Those things have gotten small. I thought they were huge and with large claws and... Scales. Is that hair? Hair for wings?"
