She had hit a few rough patches and had to alter her pace in multiple cases, but still, she was far from tired and this contest was far from over. Just as she pulled free from the constraining flora, a familiar hissing caught her ears and made her turn. Behind her, an angry badger had appeared, puffed up in anger. Shade narrowed her eyes and kissed in return, batting a hoof at it. Normally, she'd kill the thing and make a nice comfy pelt of it, however, this was a race and there was simply no time for that. And so, with the angry animal at her hooves, Shadow Step sprinted down the path toward the next area.

'Damn that badger,' She cursed inwardly as she limped forward. The stupid rodent had managed a good hard bite on her back ankle before scurrying off. She knew she should have killed it then and there. Now, much to her disdain, she was forced to limp slowly through the terrain.
