Dima chuckled at Magnus's snickering at her comment about being one of the best archers around. The truth was she didn't log in nearly as many hours in MMOs as a lot of the bigger bloggers did or successful players in the gaming world of MMOs but where they only practiced in game, Dima spent at least two days a week in the real world practicing archery for an hour or so. She was one of the better archers in England, to be honest, and it had been joked if she put a few more hours in, it was possible one day to go to the Olympics or what not. Yet, she found that being an archer in an MMO world was way more fun than shooting targets on the range.
As the aggro wolves turned toward Magnus, she quickly twirled the bow into her hand and strung an arrow nimbly and in seconds an arrow was fired towards and made contact with an aggro approaching Magnus from the back. The wolf turned to see her and she shot again, downing him, and then took aim at the next closest wolf towards Magnus, as she watched his health stats. Her's staying steady, then again she was a farther target and didn't seem to catch the particular wolves' interest until she actually hit one.
Pulling the string of her bow back she waited to see what aggro would be the greatest concern for Magnus next. "Three more to go!" She said with a smirk as she noted she managed to snag a bit of gold and her experience which distributed among her and Magnus and that she managed to get a healing potion as well. Good starting luck on pick-up, she noted, a smile on her face as she struck another wolf with an arrow, dropping its health by a third.

Once Rilo was clear, he did a bit of a flash hand stand on the roof and cartwheeled against a wall so that he might lean against it. "Not a bad pull from those two, and it looks like my pick-pickpocket skill as well as a few of my others have leveled, and it looks like I am gonna be a level higher and a few hundred gold richer before encountering even one enemy, very choice" he muttered to himself, twirling one of his ill-gotten gold coins on his fingers.

Some time after finally entering the game world, Korsall found himself bounding back into the square of the starting area. Just as he thought, he managed to snag a few limited quests among others. All that remained was to carry them out. Taking a moment to rest and replenish his stamina, he looked around the square, his hands on his hips. Most people had already cleared out, likely intending to grind. A waste in his opinion. Why just grind when you can grind while making progress on a quest that'll give you further rewards? He was also able to pick up on a few rumors going about amongst the NPCs through passive use of the Detection and Listening skills he had discovered earlier while going through his menus, and already knew a few good areas to train that others might not know about yet. Less crowding meant better exp efficiency. He was off to a good start and was making excellent use of his time.
Beginning to make his way out of the starting town, he continued to put his skills to work, listening in on NPCs and Players alike while also keeping his wits about him through his Detection skill. He knew he'd have to partner up sooner or later, so he payed particular attention to listening for anyone looking to group up. Admittedly, focusing so much on those two skills left him looking rather spacey as he walked along.

With a bit of a rough start, Magnus's HP bar would rest at 75% at an alarming rate, as if Magnus forgot how to actually play. Though, once he got a hand on things, he managed to snag a wolf's leg with a swing of his sword, and the pixels that would denote an injury shown brightly at the end of the stump of the wolf's front leg. He would smile as he began to get into his groove, and would evade or redirect wolves that were lunging at him with their ferocious fangs.
When he saw an arrow hit a wolf, it would transfer it's aggro from him to Dima. Though there were two quarter-health wolves in front of him, he wouldn't be doing his job if he just let that wolf go to Dima. Not that she couldn't handle it. He would dive for the wolf that Dima last hit, and then run it through with his sword before rolling out of the line of fire. He knew that the archers had a multi-shot kind of skill, but he wasn't quite sure if Dima had it already. If she did, she could knock out the two quarter-health wolves in one fell swoop.

She watched as the guy in front of her actually hid some of his face with his scarf. Arching an eyebrow, she briefly wondered why he would have to mask his features, but quickly discounted the thought. It didn't matter too much anyway, since there was something more important at the moment. That apology. When he actually said he did not think he had anything to apologize for, she felt a pout pull her lips slightly. Glaring up at him, she waited for him to continue. However, she was slightly shocked when he actually told her to form a party with him if she wanted the apology. What actually blindsided her was the fact that he called her name cute of all things when she had been trying to basically have an argument with the man! Well, he was full of surprises at least. Blushing lightly herself, she actually looked down and to the side, trying to hide her embarrassment. It was not everyday that someone called her name cute.. That actually probably made most of the decision for her. That, and that he was right. Most of the people were flowing past them and out the looming gate in the distance.
Finally, she gave a leader-ish nod and smiled brightly. "Then let's team up! It would make the job twice as easy, and it would be fun to see someone that looks as confident as you apologize." As the invitation screen came up, she pressed the accept button. Under her own status bar she soon saw his own pop up. Smiling wider, she held out her hand, waiting for him to shake it. "Nice to meet you Kuhaku! I'm in your care." Now that she got a good look at him, she saw that he was actually quite cute. Who knew if he had the skill to keep up with her though.

Rend wandered the town, checking out items and accepting a few quests (mostly gathering types at this point). He purchased a few cheap potions, and had little luck finding any items like the spell tomes that he had seen in other games. He wondered how he would go about learning spells. Time would tell.
As he exited a shop (after turning down a request to join a merchant guild- good grief, they're at it already?), he thought that he heard something on the rooftops. He looked up, but saw nothing in the light. "Must have been some birds. ...Riiight." He shrugged. "Not my concern, not my concern..."
He approached the edge of town. Maybe he would start testing out the combat system.

Dima smiled as Magnus took care of the wolf who had turned her attention to him and noted the low health on the two of the other wolves in front of him. With a smirk she strung two arrows on her bow and pulled striking both of the already considerably lowered health wolves who vanished into a scattering of pixels. "Well that was anti-climatic," She said, coming up to him and holding out the health potion she acquired from her first kill to Magnus.
"Looks like you need this more than I do," She said with a sigh. "A bit rusty on the start, it seems... anyways, I lucked out on the loot with the first one and its only fair to give you this-after all I'm just standing in the distance firing."
"I remember you being better than that," She teased before stretching and saying still smiling. "You got a hold of it fairly quick. I leveled accuracy-not that I really needed it- though I suppose it helps when using multi-arrow attacks and got a boost on my attack power and health."
"So, what is your long-term plan this game? Level grinding is smart at the start but after the banquet it makes sense to start focusing on your plan of attack from there. I'm better teamed up with a warrior or fighter, hell even a fencer, but I figure someone with healing abilities is good to have in addition. All about being smarter than everyone else," she added with a large smile and tapping the temple of her head. "Going solo just means more work and larger risks, though, I suppose more glory for yourself in the end."
Kuhaku looked puzzled when a blue skinned character came by, but he felt his coin purse a bit lighter than normal. 'Rogue, huh...it's like every MMO has to have that class' he thought. He chuckled when he heard her speak, especially the part when she spoke of him apologizing. "Oh? You're in my care? I'm sure you can handle yourself here, Dahlia-chan." Kuhaku said, shaking her hand once before walking forward, seeing the NPC that handed everyone the generic level one quest. "Oh, also. Make sure you grab your level one fencer quest. Do you know where that NPC is?" he asked. Kuhaku noted the blade that she carried. Very lightweight and nimble, much like a rapier...definitely not a fighter weapon unlike his katanas. "We'll also need to keep a timer to see when the creatures spawn back, since it looks as though we'll be competing for mobs and experience..." He sighed softly. The first part of the game is always the roughest, at least in his opinion. He was just happy to be partied up with a cute girl. Will this NEET teenage hermit finally have a girlfriend for the first time in his life?! Well, best not get too excited....

Lisa watched the rogue elf by the roof top, but she decide not to comfort him as she turn her heel and walk to right of the edge of the roof, she found the hay shack as she use her leap of faith and landed on the large hay shack. She got out and walk out of the town to start her quest to hunt the wolves for practicing her combo attack, but she decide to run in quick speed.
She smirked lightly and stood up a bit straighter, raising her chin in a slightly arrogant manner. "Of course I can take care of myself." she replied proudly. At his question about the fencer skill quest, she smiled lightly and tilted her head, thinking. "Well, I haven't gotten it yet, but I assume it's the NPC over there that's handing it out?" she asked as she pointed to a woman standing to the side with a bit of battle gear on her person. "Just a moment..." Walking to the NPC, she quickly talked to her with the key word and received the quest. A small menu popped up, asking if she wanted to accept it. While turning, she clicked the accept button before stopping in front of Kuhaku again and looking back up at him.
"As for the timer, I think there's one in the options menu. " she replied, already looking through the settings. Biting her lip lightly, she did a small pre-set up for when she would need it. Once she was done with that, she looked up at him with a bright smile. "So, ready to get out of here and join the excitement? I'm ready for a small fight myself." she said. Dahlia really was pumped for this especially since she seemed to actually have someone to enjoy the game with.

Reaching the town gates, Korsall stood and watched the other players scattering out into the surrounding landscape for a moment, noting where they were all going. Of particular note was where they weren't going however. He grinned a little as he was already seeing his tactics pay off. Placing his hand to the sword at his side, he began to wonder how the combat played out. It shouldn't be too hard though with the experience he had from the systems other VRs used.
Giving a furtive glance around him, he began to nonchalantly wander off in his own direction. A direction he knew led to an area with targets that were almost guaranteed to grant bonus exp. He hadn't seen anyone else going in the direction and he hoped that he would be the first to make it to the area. He had overheard from some NPCs that the targets there were particularly good for training but that there weren't many of them. He took it as a sign that the enemies had limited spawns before disappearing permanently.

Rilo heard a step and then the rustling of hay as he saw a young woman running from the area. "It appears I was followed" he said to himself noticing she was headed to the field outside the town, probably to take on the starter quest. "what a shame to waste such an opportunity to make a new friend" he said with a smirk as he gave chase to see where the woman was headed.
