"And where will it be?" He asked again. Still holding the hat in his hands he glanced down at it, "Well thank you for making it for me Countess Rosa. You have done a wonderful job." He poked one of his fingers through the holes for his antlers as he nodded to himself.

The man glanced at Ahnna again, and shook his head, "It's not hideous." He commented and finished with, "And I never said I wouldn't go." he had directed that at Ahnna as he set the hat down on the corner of his bed and pushing the calico cat off so he wouldn't tear the hat up by playing with the feathers.

"Me house." Ahnna said happily. "Brother and I throw a little costume party bout this time. Cause it seems everyone else does. Dont happen till November, though, an' Rosa was goin. She diddnt wanna be alone though. Personally, meself, I think it would be better if she would just STAY HERE but.."

"May I leave now?" The woman asked her Kithain, who shook her head. She was given a 'not till you say goodbye to your friend nicely.' which only made Rosa more upset. "Stop treating me like im some little infant you need to herd down the proper direction of life! I want to be angry I will! And for your information I am not angry, I am simply upset that someone who I thought waasent my friend cant spare his time to sit and keep my company! But it's fine! Im not angry!!"

"Oh have mercy.." Ahnna asked nothing in paticular, as she felt the handle to the door with a sigh. "I think I give up." she informed herself.

By now, Alces didn't seem to care that he had somehow made her 'angry,' since in his mind, it wasn't neccesary to be upset over this. "You know Countess Rosa. You are overreacting." He commented and went to open the door for the other two to be polite, "I never said I wasn't going to go. I simply wanted to know the details before agreeing to something. That is a normal thing to do, is it not?" He went to gently remove Ahnna's hand from the door handle so she wouldn't have to open it. "Allow me." He told her as he then went to open the door.

As he made a motion with his arm toward the doorway he spoke again, "And I would be happy to escort you Countess Rosa. Now that I know where I'm going. Although, you have probbaly changed your mind by now, and if that is the case, that is quite all right. But if not, then I would still be happy to accompany you." Alces gave each of them a quick smile, "Thank you for coming to visit, and thank you for the gift Countess."

Rosa stared at him for a minute, looking briefly like she was going to start crying. "It is quite alright, Alces. I really have no need for your company any longer.. at all. Thank you for having us." SHe said in much the same tone as she moved past him quickly and was off to her room again.

Ahnna batted at Alces' hand. "Dont touch me!" She exclaimed as if that were gross, before she gave him a stern look. "You know, from all I hear about you I would of thought you would of been able to handle that better. Ah well, all for the better im sure. Enjoy your stupid hat. Ta-ta!" She said cheerfully and half ran after the fey.

A note is taped to Alces' door,

Dear Alcie,

I was hoping maybe we could spend some time together again soon? I know that we have both been busy with other things, but I do miss you. You are my closest friend. If you could let me know when would be a good time, I might stop by then to see you...

All my love,
Muris

I stopped by again today. I apologize if I seem forward in doing so. If you wish to take leave of my company, please do say so.

I saw this when I was shopping with Sissy today, and I thought that perhaps you would like it. From what I gather you're quite fond of music...

Always,
Muri

A small package is left outside your chamber door wrapped in festive cloth. Inside is a small card and a toy. The card reads:

Happy Yule, Alces!

Always,
Cervus

"At long last I saw Muri. It's a shame the gifts I ordered for her a long while back still have yet to come, otherwise I could have given them to her then. Ah well, it's just an excuse to go visit her again. Hopefully before the holidays come. Although they are already here for the most part. My dear cousin dropped off a gift for me, a nice small little plush toy. I'll have to find a safe place to keep it considering my cats tried to maul the poor thing as soon as soon as I took it into my chambers. The shelf will be fine for now. That is, until they discover I put it up there...

While with Muris, I was able to thank her for the gift she had given me a while back as well. I'll have to learn how to play it and either find a song to play for her, or make one up. I think I shall do the first, because I'm not sure how good I would be at composing a song. Although it wouldn't hurt to try. She also seemed a bit sad still; thinking that the other Fey might not like her anymore now that she has grown. But I reassured her once again that everything will probably be fine. As for the rest of our short time together, I won't go into detail...yet.

Rp Scene
Alces: With a happy grin on his face, Alces wandered through the halls of the castle on his way to the stables. The gifts that he had gotten for Muris a long time ago had finally came. They were now in a small bag at his side. He hoped he wasn't going to intrude, and was beginning to regret not sending a letter first. Although he could always just claim to have come to see Orin if it was a bad time. With that, he headed out of the castle and to the stables to see if Muris was there.

Muris: The teenage mouse was indeed there. In fact, she had a wheelbarrow full of hay and...other things that she was shuffling to the appropriate pile outside. She spotted her dearest friend easily, though, and quickly set it down, wiping her hands on her skirt and beaming at him, "Alcie!"

Alces: With a wave, Alces headed in her direction, casting a quick concel spell on the objects inside the bag. He figured the spell would last long enough for it to be a 'surprise.' "La--Muri!" he corrected himself as he took the last few steps, "How are you? Well I hope." The Fey's grin had become wider still. "It's good to see you again."

Muris: She beamed, taking a step closer, but careful not to actually touch him-- she hadn't washed her hands yet after mucking out the stalls, afterall, and she was certain he didn't want to get all dirty, "Yes! I'm doing just fine. Did you have a nice time with Christmas?" Shiaree had explained the holiday to her in full, and it had seemed like a nice idea. They had even celebrated something like it at their house.

Alces: "Yes I did thank you." Alces nodded, "Other than the fact I was almost mauled by some strange creature of Lady Xannyia's. Other than that, it was fun. Did you and your Kithain celebrate it as well?" He looked down at her some and continued to smile, "And I have some things for you. Your gifts finally came."

Muris: The mouse-girl nodded, "We did, in a manner of speaking. Not the Christian elements, as Shiaree's own culture doesn't go well with that, nor do most of ours, but we did enjoy the spirit of giving and all of that." Muri smiled, then kissed Alcie on the cheek, "Oh! That's lovely! I'll go get washed up, and all, that way I can hug you without getting you all icky."

Alces: "That's good. That's mostly what Lady Xannyia does as well." Alces commented and pulled the bag closer to his front, "All right." he smiled, "I shall walk with you. I have to give Orin a few presents as well so to speak. I brought him some carrots." Alces pulled out a few carrots from the bag and nodded, biting into one as he did so. "I've decided he can start eating more healthy things."

Muris: Muris nodded, "Yeah, carrots are much better than the sugar cubes I know you've been sneaking him." She grinned, wagging a finger reprovingly at him, and headed back into the stable-- the wheelbarrow would be fine outside, really. It was only a minute later that the pains started, just as she remembered them. Instinctively, she lowered herself to the ground just as it started to take hold of her, and the light shimmered around her.

Alces: "I have not." he lied, but his laugh gave him away. "Okay, only a few...dozen." he coughed a bit then began grinning again. Alces was on his way to Orin with his back to Muris. Only when he noticed a strange glow did he turn around. "Muri!" He exclaimed, and dropped the carrots in his hand. He began rushing toward her, but was sure to keep a bit of distance between them, not wishing to crowd her or anything while she transformed.

Muris: The light faded, and she shuddered there for a moment, tears in her eyes, but not making it to her cheeks as she fought against the pain. She would -not- be a crybaby this time. Maybe not ever again, if she could help it. She did feel confidence rather flooding through her. Looking up at Alces, she knew that she had definitely changed quite a bit-- the difference in heights was not quite as pronounced as it had been, though she was still rather short. "Alcie..."

Alces: Noticing his jaw was hanging open some, Alces shut it and blinked at the Fey before him. Scooting back a bit he forced himself to turn his gaze somewhere else, "...Lady Muris." He said slowly, and a bit nervously. "Are you all right?" He still wasn't looking at her, but instead at the wall, then the ground, and a few other places.

Muris: Muris blinked rapidly, hoping to make the tears still forming in them go away, "I'm okay...Alcie, what's wrong?" she asked, too tired, still, to scoot forward and throw herself at him as she wished to do..and to worried that he might drop her on accident as well, with how nervous he seemed, "I don't look that different, do I?"

Alces: "Nothing." he said a bit too quickly. Clearing his throat some, Alces swallowed and shook his head, "No, no...not that different." The pitch of his voice was unusually high for him...seeing as how he was now suddenly uncomfortable. "Actually yes, but no...a bit." He had started scooting closer to her again, and was finally looking at her now, figuring she needed to be comforted after something like this, not have things made worse by him being...odd.

Muris: Muris blinked, but decided to let it go. She'd pursue it later...right now, she just needed a hug. All but falling fowards, she slid her arms around his waist, burying her face in the all-too-familiar tickly fur around his collar, "Thank you.."

Alces: Alces kept himself from pulling away as he nodded, "You're welcome." He wasn't sure what he was saying 'you're welcome' for, but that didn't really matter. He soon became more comfortable and hugged her back, "That wasn't too painful was it Muri? I mean, Lady Muris."

Muris: She smiled, "You know it's always Muri for you," she said, shaking her head at his question, "But no, it wasn't as bad as the first time." Her body was quivering less at this point, though whether it was because the pain was fading or because of Alcie's comforting presence, she didn't know or care, "At least, I don't feel that I need to go upstairs and sleep for a week this time."

Alces: "Yes, sorry. I'll have to try even harder to remember that..." he stated. Looking down at her, he smiled, "That's good." He squeezed her a bit tighter and was patting her shoulder, "Do you need anything? Water? Food? Anything else?" Alces seemed to have forgotten all about what was making him nervous...for now. "Or presents." He laughed, "They might make you feel better. Or at least take your mind off of the pain.

Muris: "Well, you don't -have- to call me Muri if you don't want..." she settled her head comfortably on his chest, taking a few deep breaths to calm her system down from its recent changes, "And..well, that's probably a good idea. You can come up to my room with me."

Alces: "No, it's fine, it's just...nevermind. It's fine." Alces told her. He nodded and looked up toward her room, "Will you be able to make it up the ladder all right? I wouldn't want you to lose your grip and fall or anything." He glanced at the ladder, then back down at her. "That wouldn't be good...at all."

Muris: Muri tilted her head, debating whether or not now was the right time to ask him what was bothering him..and deciding against it. Maybe once they were upstairs, and there were less prying ears-- she got the feeling it was something he wouldn't want everyone knowing about, for certain, "I'm pretty sure I can make it up the ladder," she smiled, getting slowly to her feet. Though she wobbled a little, she seemed fairly steady, at least.

Alces: Alces stood after Muris had stood, and was now getting ready to catch her if anything should happen. "Very well." He returned the smile and picked up the bag off of the ground and looked at the ladder breifly, "I'll make sure you don't fall then." He moved closer to it and extended his hand for her to take, much like one would do when helping a lady up into a carriage.

Muris: Muris smiled, taking his hand as offered and starting her climb up rather slowly, carefully. "I know you will. I trust you." She slipped a bit on the fourth step (stupid rope ladders, they were terrible for one's balance when they -weren't- still a bit wobbly on their feet), but quickly caught herself with a flick of her wings and regained her balance enough to scramble the rest of the way into her room, waiting to see if Alcie needed a hand up.

Alces: When she had slipped, Alces had jerked forward as if she was bound to die if she fell. He let out his breath slowly when he saw that she had caught herself and smiled up at her once she was safely at the top. After putting the bags strap in his belt to keep it from falling, he made his way up the ladder. Once at the top he looked down a moment and looked back down before returning his attention to her. "I think you should look into getting some sort of wodden ladder..."

Muris: She laughed, nodding, "I suppose you're right. I just hadn't really thought of it.." her cheeks turned a bit crimson as she looked around her room and she quickly gathered some of the mess that had been spread about, "I'm sorry. I'm not a very neat housekeeper when it comes to my own stuff," she mumbled.

Alces: "If there was ever a fire, trying to get down mi--" He stopped himself and just nodded, leaving it at that. "Oh, it's quite all right. My animals tend to destroy my room and make as much of a mess as they can." he told her, "So it isn't anything new." He stood up and unhooked the bag from his belt, waiting for her to finish gathering up some of the stuff.

Muris: Muri quickly settled everything into an out-of-the-way place, "I know that feeling. I had a ferret I was nursing back to health and he simply got into -everything-!" she sighed, a bit exasperated remembering the incident, then smiled, "Make yourself comfy, Alcie. You can sit on the bed, if you like. Or the chair-- that's where Sissy sits whenever she comes to visit."

Alces: First he moved to the chair, then looked back and forth between the bed and the chair a few times. Eventually he chose the bed, that way, he could lay the gifts out for her to see. Taking a seat he smiled over at her and patted the bed beside him as he opened the bag and pulled out what seemed to be just air. "I do hope you like them." he commented as he pulled out the second 'bit of air.'

Muris: Muris peered at him curiously. What -was- he doing, reaching into the bag and pulling nothing out? How very odd..."I'm sure I'll love them," she smiled softly at him as she sat down next to him and snuggled against him, "They're from you, afterall..but what -are- you doing?"

Alces: With a grin he said, "Pulling out your gifts." He moved his hands toward her, "Hold out your hands." He watched her a moment, and shifted his hands a bit, to get the gifts ready to place in her hands. The Fey moved the bag aside with his elbow when both gifts were taken out.

Muris: She tilted her head, a bit perplexed, "But I don't see anything..." she mused, then did as asked, holding her hands out, "What...?"

Alces: "Of course you don't." The fey gave a quick nod, "I've made them invisible." Gently, he placed a gift in each hand, figuring they would be appearing any moment. Sure enough, a few seconds later they did. In one hand was a silver rose, and in the other an orchid plant.

Muris: Muris gasped, gently setting them both in one hand that she might stroke the petals gently with the other, "They're beautiful!" she smiled, then leaned forward, kissing him softly on the cheek, "Thank you, Alcie. Really." He always knew just how to make her feel better.

Alces: "You're welco--" His face became bright red, in fact, one could say it nearly matched his tunic as he was kissed on the cheek. Alces shook his head at himself, deciding he needed more training to keep from doing this sort of thing. He turned away, and fiddled with the bag a moment, trying to distract himself or something, "You're welcome." He finally said, and nodded a few times.

Muris: She got up from the bed, searching for one of her vases to put the flowers in so that they would stay alive as long as possible, "Alcie...what's bothering you, really? You seem so nervous all the time...did I do something wrong? Something to make you uncomfortable? If I did, you should tell me so I can stop.."

Alces: "Nothing, no...you did nothing wrong." he told her truthfully. He stood up as well and was relieved when he felt his face becoming cooler again as it returned to it's normal color. "It's not you at all." Alces looked over at her and shook his head at himself again.

Muris: She bit her lip, taking a deep breath and then walking over to himm, rather startled in a way by her own confidence. Gently, she placed a hand on his cheek, looking him in the eyes, "Are you certain? You know that I would never want to make you uncomfortable around me. I..care about you too much. I would not want you to stop seeing me."

Alces: "Yes, I am quite certain. You aren't doing anything to make me uncomfortable." In a way she was, but it wasn't her fault, she was just being herself. "And I would never stop seeing you. You're possibly my closest and dearest friend."

Muris: "You're definitely mine," she said softly, tearing her eyes away from his and letting her hand fall back to her side. She was quiet for a moment, then smiled, attempting to recover the feeling of cheeriness he always gave her, "The flowers really are beautiful, by the way. Thank you very much."

Alces: "You're welcome." Alces said again, "I'm glad you like them." He looked over at them a moment before returning his attention to her and smiling, trying to act more like himself again. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to get you a vase for them, but the one you are using is very pretty." He complimented with a nod.

Muris: She smiled up at him, "That's okay. Even the flowers are more than I expected, really." she stood up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek again.

Alces: Alces had been about to say something when he saw her moving in for another kiss on the cheek. He almost visably cringed a moment to keep his face from turning red again. He found holding his breath helped a bit, so that's what he did. As he recieved the kiss on his cheek he went to give her a friendly hug, "Once again, I'm glad you like them. The silver reminded of you, and the white for that matter." he told her as he glanced at her clothing which had the same colors.

Muris: She blinked, noting his strange actions whenever she went to kiss him, and deciding that from now on she would have to stick with hugging him instead, "You're right, they are my favourite colours," she smiled, looking down at her outfit, and then nearly falling over, "Wh-what am...?" she had nearly forgotten completely about her transformation, "Oh dear..."

Alces: Alces' eyes widened and he put an arm out in case she should actually fall over. "Huh?" He gave her a questioning look before he realized what this was all about. He cleared his throat again when he found himself looking at what she was wearing as well. He looked back up at her face and bit his lower lip for a second or two, "I think....I think they look nice."

Muris: Muris flushed a light crimson, "Well, if you say so, they must be...but I can't imagine riding a horse in this..." she tugged a strand of hair thoughtfully, only just realizing that it was no longer in the ponytails she had been keeping it in. Her heart nearly skipped a beat as her hand flew quickly to her neck, and she let out a sigh of relief upon feeling the necklace her father had given her still there.

Alces: He hadn't thought of that and nodded, "True, however, I'm sure you'll manage. You are afterall, the most knowledgable about horses out of the Fey here." Alces reached over and hooked the bag to his belt again so he wouldn't forget it. He was glad that he hadn't been the only one to blush. Now it was him that went to give her a kiss on the cheek, and by doing that, he even surprised himself.

Muris: Muris flushed a bit more, smiling, "I..thank you, Alcie. You have no idea how much that means, coming from you.." she slipped her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly, snuggling against him just as she had as a child and teen, "I must say I'm very glad that I've been able to work with the horses this much, and that King Cervus trusts me with them, and all..I think my father would be proud."

Alces: "I think he would too. Not that I knew the man, but I'm still sure he would." Alces hugged her back, finally acting more like himself. He was even beginning to smile slightly as he was hugged. "And you do a good job. I think Orin's even lost some weight."

Muris: Muris laughed, "If Orin's lost some weight, it's because you've stopped feeding him all those treats. He's been getting the same food as everyone else since I got here.."

Alces: "Oh..." Alces said, becoming quiet for a moment, deciding maybe he should continue to cut down on the treats. "I didn't give him that many!" He lied, grinning all the while. "As I said, just a few...dozen every other day or so." He lowered his head, pretending to be ashamed, "But it kept him from trying to eat my fur."

Muris:Muris laughed, "Well, there are other ways to keep him from trying to eat your fur...but it's not like he got -too- fat. If he had I'd have come after you about it. He's just a bit plump, not dangerously overweight." She brushed at Alces' hair playfully, enjoying the tension slowly easing away from both of them.

Alces: "Yes, I know." He replied while raising his head again, "But he liked them so much. I just didn't think it was right to not let him have something he liked." That was just another one of his excuses, and he was smiling and laughing by now, "Besides, I took him out for runs. That was supposed to make it even out some." He looked at Muris again and gave her yet another smile, "And how might your horse be doing?"

Muris: She laughed again, shaking her head, "You spoil him so," she teased, fluffing out the fur at his neck and smiling, "Alucina's lovely, of course. I'm working on her with jumps and all, but I'll have to start again now that I've changed-- she always takes a bit to get used to the weight difference and all."

Alces: Alces looked down at the fur around his neck and shifted a bit, finding that when she fluffed his neck fur it tickled a bit. "That's good to hear. Perhaps one day, after Orin loses a bit more weight he can learn how to jump as well. I wouldn't want to try it now, he might...land wrong and hurt himself under his own weight. Not to mention mine. These add quite a bit of weight." He looked up with his eyes toward his antlers.

Muris: She reached up, gently touching the antlers, "But they're gorgeous," she said softly, smiling, "I like them, anyhow. And there are other things you could do with Orin that his weight wouldn't bother. Like dressage." She had been learning all about the different ways one could train a horse.

Alces: He jokingly ran his hand along the lower part of his antler much like one would run a hand through their hair, "Yes, I know. I groom them daily." He was shaking his head as he said this and still grinning, that is, until the last word she had said. "What's that?" He asked curiously.

Muris: She let her hand drift to his hair, fluffing it a bit and then letting it fall back to her lap, "Oh, dressage is like..." she paused a moment, thinking of how precisely to word it, "It's a bit like dancing with your horse, I guess."

Alces: The look on his face got even odder and more confused, "Dancing with a horse?" He asked slowly, raising an eyebrow. "How might that be done?" Alces decided that perhaps he should try that sometime when he found out more about it. It sounded interesting.

Muris: She grinned, "Well, you're on horseback the whole time. But you have to train Orin to respond to even the slightest touch of the reins or your feet. And you teach him all the motions, and all...it's judged based on how fluid your motions together are, just like a dance."

Alces: "Maybe you can show me sometime?" He asked. "The more excersise Orin gets the better." He ended with a nod and began smiling at her again. "And who better to teach me about horses and horse related things than you?"

Muris: Muris was practically glowing at this point, "I could try. Alucina and I haven't really worked on dressage yet, but she tends to know what I want before I ask anyways, so I guess we'd be pretty good at it." She fidgeted with the horseshoe necklace around her neck thoughtfully, "I've been learning so much about them lately..." Blinking, she blushed a little bit, "I'm sorry, you must be bored with all this horsetalk." He was still a noble, afterall, even if he was Alces. She shouldn't worry him with all this common stuff.

Alces: "No, no, not at all. I enjoy learning new things. And horses are certainly...interesting creatures." He still wasn't one hundred percent comfortable around horses, and had decided to use the word 'interesting' instead of 'strange.' "Besides, it's good you know so much, you are afterall in charge of taking care of them. Just think it I was the one that had to care for them." He shuddered slightly at the thought. "Let's just say, that wouldn't be a good thing." He laughed.

Muris: She nodded, "Well, taking care of horses is usually best left for people like me," she said, then blinked, adding quickly, "I mean, people who know what they're doing, have been trained for it and all." She didn't really want to bring up the class distinction again, though she was starting to really feel it now that she was an adult.

Alces: Alces looked at her a moment then smiled, moving closer to her, "Yes, only the second part." He went to give her a hug. He didn't want her to feel bad about anything at all, and was thinking of something to say to cheer her up when he suddenly realized how close he was to her and got uncomfortable again.

Muris: She hugged him back, but by this point, she had decided to try and keep her worries away from him..she was always bothering Alcie with all her little insecurities...poor guy. It really was awful of her doing so. "Of course, I don't say no when nobles want to take care of their animals themselves..though I do make sure to check up on their work and make sure everything's done right."

Alces: Backing up quickly he nodded, "Yes, imagine how fat Orin would get if caring for him were left up to me." He said with a nod and fidgeted with his neck fur a moment. "He wouldn't eat anything but sugar cubes and fur." Alces stopped himself from starting to ramble and gave her a nervous smile. "I...I have to go and do...some things." He cringed when he said that, finding this to be similar to some horrible, cheesy movie he had seen at his Kithain's. Frowning a bit as he thought to himself he shook his head.

Muris: Muris nodded, biting her lip, "I..understand. I should probably get back to work anyways," she forced a bit of a smile, and motioned again to the flowers, "Thank you for the flowers..and for staying with me for a bit. I appreciate it."

Alces: "You're welcome." He said quickly and began heading toward the ladder. Only, instead of starting down he stopped and turned around. Gathering up what 'courage' Alces had, or rather, being all daring compared to how he usually was he walked back over to her to give her a kiss on the cheek if she would let him. Then, after thinking it over for a few seconds while making his way back over there he decided he would be even more 'daring' and go for the lips.

Muris: Muris blinked, startled at his sudden reversal of path, but moved forward without even thinking about it. Well, if he wanted to stay she certainly wasn't going to stop him, that was for certain. A more genuine smile than the one she had just given him lit her lips.

Alces: Alces became stiff as he pulled away from the kiss, turning quite pale as the color drained from his face. He looked at her a moment and coughed slightly before raising his arm as if waving. It quickly returned to his side as he began heading back toward the ladder with quick little steps. He coughed once more, and remained stiff as he climbed partially down the rope ladder. "Goodbye Lady Muris." It was as though he was having some sort of miniature heart attack as he continued down, hitting his antlers on the edge of the floor as he looked down to make sure he was stepping on a rope and not air. That was followed by an "Ow!," Then a "I hope to...see you soon." As he exited the stable more nervous coughing and clearing of his throat could be heard.

Muris: "W-wait!" she had been so startled by the kiss itself that she hadn't been able to return it...and he'd been so fast to get out of there..but she had to catch up...Scampering down the rope ladder with only a little of the previous difficulty, she paused to catch her breath standing against one of the stalls, "Alcie..please..."

Alces: His pace only quickened when he heard her voice but being who he was, he couldn't bring himself to keep going and ignore her, so he forced himself to stop and turn around, "Yes Lady Muris?" He asked, clearing his throat one final time, for now at least. Alces did however, stay where he was, feeling safer at a distance for some reason.

Muris: She looked up at him, quickly brushing the hair out of her eyes, "Alcie..don't..I mean..I'm sorry...you caught me by surprise..that's all.." she took a step forward, "I..why did you...?"

Alces: "You have no need to be sorry Lady Muris. It is I who should be sorry." He told her, acting calmer than he actually was. As she took a step forward, he took a step backwards. "Forgive me for being so forward." Alces finished, trying to avoid her last question by simply ignoring it.

Muris: "Don't..don't run away..not from me, Alcie. Please.." she took another step forward, trying not to become too upset. She was going to be strong now. She was grown, "I...I didn't mind, at all. I wanted...I was going to..earlier..but.." how could she explain it? She hadn't wanted to make him more uncomfortable, for one. But there were other things that made this whole situation nearly unbearable.

Alces: Up until then, he had been slowly trying to escape, but after she asked him not to run away he just couldn't bring himself to take another step away from her, not even if he tried. Holding his breath, he turned around again and looked at her, some color returning to his face as she mentioned that she hadn't minded. "You...were?"

Muris: She nodded, "Well, I wanted to..but..well...I didn't think..." she bit her lip, looking down. There really wasn't a good way to explain it. "I mean..I thought it might be a bit odd for you, since you knew me when I was little..and..and.." she really didn't want to bring up the nobility factor again. It was the most painful, really. "And other things."

Alces: "It was..." he told her, since, well, it was. Alces fidgeted with his neck fur again, as he always did when he was nervous. "Other things?" He said slowly, thinking there was someone else Muris liked...in that way, rather than him. At that he became pale again and apologized, "I'm sorry Lady Muris. I should haven't done that. Forgive me."

Muris: She shook her head, "No. I really...I like you a lot. More than anyone else..you've been so wonderful to me. It's just..that..that.." She took another step forward, then ran to hug him tightly, "I just worry that it's not possible..for us..to be together..because..because I'm just a stablemouse."

Alces: Blinking a few times, it took him a while to hug her back. "And I'm only a Herald. It isn't as though I'm a Count, or King." He told her, finally putting his arms around her to return the hug. "Stablemouse or not, that doesn't change the fact you are a kind Fey, and quite easy to get along with...beautiful." he said the last word more under his breath than outloud and sounding almost shy about saying that.

Muris: She shook her head, "I'm not...but, see, father and mother always said that nobles weren't supposed to associate much with common folk. They let me go play with Filix, but that's 'cause there weren't many children my age who weren't nobles.." she sighed, "So I guess..I was just afraid you wouldn't be allowed.."

Alces: He honestly didn't know whether or not he would be allowed, or if there was even some sort of law against it now that they had been freed from the curse. However, he wasn't going to let her think that he wasn't sure either. "King Cervus is a very understanding man. I'm sure it'll be okay." Alces made himself sound as reassuring as he could while saying the last part. Slowly he backed away and gave Muris a smile, one that looked slightly less nervous and uncomfortable than before, "I...must be going now Lady Muris--Muri...I hope to see you soon." With that said, he turned and quickly walked off toward his chambers.

January 19th, 2004
"There is much to write about. Recently a Ball was held here...a masquerade ball to be precise. It started out so well, if only it could have stayed that way. I had intended to go as the Phantom of the Opera after being forced to see that movie with my Kithain, but I'm rather glad I didn't. Aesculus apparently decided to attend the ball as the Phantom as well. I had kept the cape and the basic costume, but changed the mask to disguise my antlers as rays of the sun. Never will I do that again, or at least not for awhile. The golden colored paint stuff was a pain to try and get off my antlers, but nothing a few hours of soaking the top of my head couldn't fix. I blame my Kithain for that...Anyway, Aesculus had a cloak nearly identical to mine. It would have been rather funny if we had both ended up going as the same thing.

While there I found Countess Rosa after her sister, I presume, pointed her out. I went to keep her company, and I regret that I wasn't able to find Lady Muris until the end when she came running up after our masks had been taken off. That is when things took a turn for the worse. Somehow...the vile Fey that associate themselves with the moon court had been awakened and using their costumes as a way to sneak into our castle. Throughout the ball, they chose their victim, and stole away with her in the night. Sadly, it was only a child they chose...one of Lady Neith's dear twins.

That poor woman. I wish there was something I could do to help console the poor thing. I can't even begin to imagine how she feels, and it makes me angry to think that monsters that dare call themselves Fey could do such a thing. In fact, I wish this whole entry could have contained much happier thoughts and events. From what I know of the Moon Court, they intend to suck out the joy of the child, and I do believe that in turn, it is sucking out the joy from all of us Fey that know Neith and her child that was taken. There is to be a meeting soon I would imagine. Most likely to devise a plan to rescue the child. I for one, will be sure to go and do all I can to help out with things."

Dear Alcie,
I apologize that my gift is also late. I simply could not find something I thought that you might like. As it is, I am still not completely satisfied, but I think that it will have to do. Sissy tells me that the shapes on the cloth form the word "Ai" which means love in Japanese. I think it an appropriate gift.

A note has been tacked on the door to Alces' chamber:

For those who may be wondering of my absence, I have been sent on a mission for King Cervus, the details of which I am unable to share. I shall return as soon as I may. Please do not worry, for I am safe.
