  Elena turned for Tate, and felt him approaching her. As he did so, she still tried to each and arm behind her and figure out if she could still at least get the zipper, but it was too far out of her reach. So, when she knew that Tate was close enough, she dropped her arms to her sides. Feeling Tate's fingertips brush against the back of her neck, Elena smiled and helped him push the hair out of the way. Soon, the zipper was being pulled down all the way to the small of her back. Before anything, Elena felt a gentle touch of Tate's fingers softly brush against her exposing back. However, nothing more happened as he confirmed that she was clear, and they were separated. "Thanks," said Elena, before quickly rushing up the stairs. Instead of wearing short shorts like she had done before, she changed into a pair of grey, baggy sweatpants and dark blue tank top of her own.
Descending down the stairs and rubbing her prepared hands together, Elena called out that she was ready to work on the sauce again. However, after grabbing a hold of the railing and spinning herself around, she saw that Tate was already at the table and ready. Her hair whipped around her and hit the left side of her, from when she spun herself, but she still saw that the dinner was ready to eat. A smile appeared on Elena's lips, but she couldn't quite make it out just what it read. She was confused as to how he managed to get all this done in a short amount of time, excited to eat dinner that Tate finished, and happy that she was sharing a dinner with Tate. Sitting down, Elena let out a breathless chuckle, grinning at him. Soon, Tate started to reminiscing what happened that day of Miss Mystic Falls. "Yeah, Caroline might not be too fond of you right now. But I'm sure after I put in good words of you over time, she'll grow to like you again. I'm also sure that I'll be getting an earful the next time I see her." Elena let out a laugh, her arms crossed on the table. "But, hey, let's talk about how I met your family," said Elena as she reached to grab some spaghetti with the spoon in the bowl. "Your sister.. probably doesn't like me as much as Caroline doesn't like you. Then there was your charming brother, Ash." Elena reached over and grabbed a spoonful of the sauce and placed it atop of her noodles. "One day you'll meet Jeremy. Maybe when things are not so.. busy." Busy with Klaus's hybrids. They were where ever Elena was. Klaus claims that he's protecting her, but he really just wants her blood. Because vampires go through a transition stage when they first wake as a vampire, they need human blood or else they will die. In order to become a hybrid, you have to already be a werewolf. Werewolves that drink Klaus's blood and then die, becomes a hybrid. However, when they wake up, they cannot have human blood or they will die, just like if they don't have blood. Until Klaus tested a theory where they needed to drink the doppleganger's blood: Elena's. Each hybrid survived, so while Elena was knocked out one time, Klaus collected a few blood bags from her. Elena spoke up after spearing her dinner with her fork. "Don't your family ever wonder where you are? Like, do they ever want you home instead?"

♣ When Elena started talking about his family, Tate listened as always. He had tried to introduce her to the two most important people in her life and one of them made sure it didn't work out well, so Tate wanted to know Elena's honest opinion on this. " Kailan hates life" Tate said as a joke, meaning that Kailan wasn't easy to warm up to right away. " It's not you, don't worry about her. She doesn't hate you... she's just... difficult. She treats a lot of people like that so don't feel like she's got something against you. She just needs to get used to you, that's all". Kailan didn't like Tate's last girlfriend much either but Tate wouldn't mention that since Elena wasnt exactly his girlfriend. "You find Ash charming?" he asked, retraining himself from laughing since his brother was actually a Warlock and charms could be his thing. But if he told Elena that, she'd probably think he was crazy. "My brother is just weird..." He muttered. The boy gathered up some noddles in his plate along with a heavy pile of sauce and meat and dug in as Elena spoke about Jeremy. Yes, he'd really want to meet her brother. The boy just nodded with a mouth full of spaghetti. He had table manners but this was Elena, he was comfortable enough with her to just express how hungry he actually was at that damn pageant.
♣ When Elena inquired about his absence from home and if his family would prefer him to stay there, Tate shook his head. "My dad's never home...Like, never. I saw my dad maybe....3? 4 months ago? Travelling businessman" Tate had to lie about his father's absence. Usually parents don't disappear for that long unless it was work related. "Mom's dead. Kailan loves guys so she's usually occupied with them most of the time. She doesn't bother me about where I go or how long I stay out - but sometimes she gets a little maternal on me. And Ash? I don't know about Ash. He's....the oldest but he's the bad seed kind of kid, you know? Well, not really. I think I'd be the goody two shoes, Kailan would be the bad seed, and Ash is that one sibling who dropped out of school to smoke pot" That was a pretty much accurate description of the siblings. Tate moved his food around a bit with his fork, thinking of the right words. " I think they prefer me doing something....social rather than locking myself up in my room. I usually keep to myself at home"

Elena listened to Tate. From just the brief meeting of him family, she could gather what their stereotypes were. His family was rather normal compare to hers, even without all the vampires and the leagues and all that. Take away the supernatural, Tate still topped her. It was a bummer about his dad though, how the one parent that was left in his life was always out and about. It was disappointing. "Well, next time he's in town, however long for, I sure hope to meet him," said Elena with a smile. After a few bites, she complimented, "Your family seems.. less complex than mine." Elena nodded her head and let out a deep sigh, spearing her noodles once again. "My parents actually adopted me.. I'm adopted, but still family. Make sense?" questioned Elena, squinting her eyes at him. But then again, he was going to find out about her story eventually. Just like she had to: the brutal way. "Well, see, my real dad is actually my uncle. I just found this out too.. He was best friends with my real mother before they finally.. did it and had me. My adoptive dad, whom I call my real dad because a real did is always there for you, was a doctor and helped deliver me. Before he came back to the hospital room to show my real mom me, she was gone. She left my uncle, and soon my uncle left too, leaving me in the hands of my adoptive dad, whom I am very grateful for. So, in a way, Jeremy is my cousin. But he's still my brother. My "adoptive" parents are my real parents. Because they're my real family. They been there for me." Elena nodded her head, but then let out an awkward chuckle. "Things just got really intense really quick.."

♣ Tate shook his head quickly at Elena. "You will never meet my father" he said sternly, leaving no room for questions. "He's not the type of man i'd want to introduce you two" That was all Elena was going to get on the matter. He knew that she didn't know better and that he maybe shouldn't have spoken to her like that but he didn't want her to believe that she'd get to meet his dad. His dad could go to hell for all he cared. Hell, Tate could probably kill his dad and the guy would never suspect it but Tate didn't have that in him. The boy dug into his spaghetti while Elena went on about her family. Honestly, Tate couldn't believe it. He could barely comprehend it. When she finished and said that their conversation got intense, Tate shook his head." No, i like talking about this. It helps us get to know each other better" Tate smiled warmly at her before getting serious again. " But i cant believe all of that. And you just recently found out about it? Thats pretty messed up. You beat me by a landslide" it wasnt a competition about whose life sucked the most, he really felt for Elena. "I just think that the world is a messed up place, filled to the brim with messed up people. " The boy went back to eating his spaghetti, looking at Elena briefly as he did so. "Do you believe in s**t like werewolves and vampires?" He asked, casually. "I feel like these are the questions that really help you learn a thing or two about people"

Though Elena didn't share verbally how much she agreed with Tate's comment on her story, she nodded her head. She couldn't bring herself to say, 'That's my life,' nor could she find any other words to describe an awkward after saying. Though, Tate did his best at changing the subject. He explained that getting deep and personal just meant that they shared more information towards one another to know of the other. Elena smiled at that, liking how Tate put it like that. Instead of getting awkward and intense, its deep and meaningful. It was getting to know the other. As if she suddenly grew shy, Elena lowered her head with a grin, brushed some hair behind her ear and looked at him, the same time he smiled himself. But as soon as he mentioned her story, her face fell serious too. "Yeah. I was in a messed up place when I found out, and I didn't know what part of my life that was the truth. So when telling Jeremy about it and asking if he was okay, he told me something that really opened my eyes. Blood doesn't make you family. It's just genes. Its bond that makes you a family. My real dad is my uncle, whom barely visited our family. My dad, my adoptive dad, is whom I consider my real dad. Because he raised me. He knew I was adopted, and he didn't turn me away. He kept me safe in his arms. Same with my mom. And Jeremy, he concluded that we were family. Inside and out." Elena finished her short speech with a small shrug.
Soon, Tate had asked her if she believed in werewolves and vampires. Her eyes nearly bulged out of her head, but she just merely remained to look surprised at such question. Did he know about the Salvatores? Did he know about Klaus and Rebekah and Tyler? Elena let out a deep sigh, as if she was in deep thought. "Hmm.. Well, I think there are creatures out there that are beyond our forces. I think that not everything has been explained in a textbook." Elena nodded her head like that was her final answer. When finishing off the last bite on her plate, she asked Tate, "Do you?"

♣ Tate smiled when Elena reversed his question. Now she was getting it. Tate shrugged innocently. Of course he believed in it, he was a werewolf. But Elena didn't know that. "My mom used to say that there was some strange things in this town" he said, spearing spaghetti. "Used to talk about all this nonsense. I believe in it a little, just because she planted that seed. But i don't go searching for Vampires or witches. My momma' warned me about those - said a witch would see me comin' a week in advance and shoot me down" Tate laughed, shaking his head. "My mom was crazy." No she wasn't. Tate thought that at first but....him, Ash, and Kailan. It wasn't a coincidence. Even if he and Kailan were scratched, it wasn't a coincidence. Nothing was like that. Tate looked at his best friend, taking in the moment. Them, alone, eating and talking without a care in the world...It was nice, calming even. He liked this, the way he could be around her. It was incredible that one person could make him this way after so long of him being to himself. "So you believe in the supernatural. What else is a good question?" He knew how this work. He'd ask, then she'd ask, it would turn into 20 questions and they'd find out some serious things about each other. "One thing you'd change about yourself?" He asked, thinking that was a pretty good question that involved deep thought. "And don't say your face because i will fight you on that opinion. You're flawless" Although the latter statement contradicted his initial question, Tate just wanted to know how well he and Elena could get to know each other. He wanted them to be the kind of best friends who would know where the other was when one of them disappeared. They didn't need to be the 'finish each other's sentences' kind of friends because that was annoying. He just wanted to know her. "Oh! And what's one thing you've always wanted to do?"

Elena looked to Tate when he asked her a question, about one thing that she would change about herself. Even if he threatened her about her choice, Elena still didn't know. She wasn't going to say her face, because, honestly, she was actually proud at how she takes care of her complexion. Elena wasn't so sure what she wasn't proud of. Sure, she did look at herself in the mirror and mentally complain about her looks, but if she were to change something forever, that was a tough one. "I don't know. I do like how I look and act. I like the way I am. I'm perfect in my own way. Although, I would change my man hands," teased Elena showing Tate her hands. With a laugh, Elena thought about his second question. After all the supernatural drama that has been happening, Elena hadn't thought about anything that involved where she wanted to go in life. "Um.. Hmm.. I think I want to be a writer." With a laugh, Elena shrugged her shoulders and stood from her table, grabbing her plate. "I used to want to be a writer, and I still do, I guess. I just.. Hadn't thought about it in a while, you know?" Dumping the plate in the sink, she asked him, "So, Tate, if you had one wish in the world, for just about anything but money, what would you do?"

♣ Tate didnt hesitate with his answer to his question, he knew the answer. "My mom. Bring her back." Tate shrugged off his answer, shoving the rest if his spaghetti into his mouth. "Either her or do something real selfish, get the girl, get the house, no worries. I'd wish for the 'ideal life'. No cure for cancer or world peace, i think those things exist for a reason. But i'd probably wish for the world to be less s**t....there's a lot of things to wish for. But those are my top three choices" Tate grinned happily. You'd think his face would hurt from smiling so much but he rarely smiled at home as much as he did with Elena. There was just something about her - No, Tate, you cant do this to yourself. He couldn't set himself up for this when there was a huge chance that Elena wouldn't even be into him. Tate helped Elena with the dishes, thinking of another question to ask her. See, these questions took thought sometime. He didn't want to ask anything stupid like 'favorite food?' Or 'favorite movie'. He wanted to ask serious questions and Elena's last question was a good one. It was amazing that the first thing that came to his mind was his mom. He rarely spoke about her and today was a first for how many times she managed to subtly come in and out of Tate and Elena's conversations. Tate tapped his chin, thinking. Usually games like this would slowly progress into more sexual questions and Tate was trying to avoid going there, if it was something he absolutely didn't need to know about Elena, like her favorite kind of underwear, then he wouldn't ask. As a question dawned to Tate, the boy snapped his fingers. "Okay, okay, ready? If you could do one extraordinary thing in the world, without the smallest fear of failure, what would you do and how would you do it?" Tate nodded triumphantly, satisfied with his question. "Try that for a good question, c'mon, let's sit on the couch."

Elena followed Tate to the couch, while also deciding her answer to his question. This required them actually needing to think. Her mind roamed for the best answer, and while she thought, she seated herself next to Tate. Their space radius grown shorter over time, and though they broke the meter when Elena sat on his lap or when they danced together, so Elena just sat right next to Tate, their bodies nearly touching. Elena propped and arm up at the back of the seat, holding her head up as she faced him, but still thought for an answer. Lowering her gaze as if in embarrassment, Elena let her free hand pick at her jeans as if there was something there that she couldn't get. "Um, it's not exactly extraordinary, but it's big to me." Elena finally let her chocolate eyes meet Tate's, and she took in a deep breath. "I would find a way for my family and friends to be safe. Y'know? Not the perfect, answer, but it's mine. I want them to be safe. I want them to not worry about the bad things in the world. I would fight off their demons, I would chase their fears away, and I would find some miracle to bring Jeremy home. I want him to be home and protected." With an innocent shrug, Elena hung her head again. "That's my answer." There was a brief pause in her, accepting the fact that she has to let Jeremy be alive in her mind and well when he's saying with a family friends. After brushing some hair behind her ear, Elena looked back up to Tate and let out a breathy chuckle, before her face fell again. "Sorry." After brushing a hand across her cheek, worried of a few lonesome tears, Elena straightened up and lowered her arm from the top of the couch to her side. "Your turn. Um.. Got it. Which is worse, failing or never trying?" Elena looked to Tate, an interested brow arched as she waited for his answer. With a grin, Elena stated, "Since earlier you asked me two questions, I get to do the same with you. So.. At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?"

♣ Elena's answer was good enough for Tate. Honestly, with the type of question that he had asked, he expected a selfish answer. But that wasn't the case, Elena would try to keep everyone she cared about safe. But these were hypothetical questions and Tate knew that keeping everyone safe wasn't exactly a possible task. You could keep some safe, but not all. When Elena returned the question Tate thought for a moment. What would honestly be worse? " I think not trying. The whole 'don't knock it 'till you try it' can work here. I feel like you'd never know the outcome if you don't try so it's better to just go for it rather than psyching yourself out, you know? For instance: You. If I had just said 'nah, she wouldn't really want to have lunch with me' then we wouldn't have been here right now, sitting on your couch, answering questions. So I feel that it's better to just try rather than psyching yourself out" The boy felt as if that was a sufficient enough explanation for his opinion. He was right, though. If he had been insecure and not gone up to Elena, they wouldn't be good friends right now. Elena's second question caused Tate to cringe. When had he really for passionate? Or Alive? Part of him wanted to tell her 'never. He wanted to explain to her how he hated life and hated people in general but he knew that would be too easy of an answer and not the kind of answer Elena may be looking for, anyway. Tate sighed. " Recent past? I don't know.... I mean, I usually feel pretty passionate when Kailan ends up with the wrong guy - like tonight. I don't trust Klaus, I really don't. But, uh, besides being over protective of my sister..... I guess I'd say when I'm with you? It's like you get me and-" Tate cut himself off with a shrug. Honestly, if he hadn't stopped himself then he would have kept going on and on about how much she actually meant to him. He didn't want to pile it on too heavy, he had already tried to be smooth tonight on several occasions. Now that Tate's feeble attempt to respond to Elena's question was completed, it was Tate's turn to ask another question. " If money wasn't an object, where would you go? Why? And who would you take with you?" Tate grinned at his question. " And no, that does not count as three questions. That is one question with three parts"

Elena liked Tate's responses. Brutally honest. With a smile, Elena thought about his own question followed his answer, biting on her bottom lip as she did so. "I would go to Paris. I heard it was beautiful there, and I would be across the world. I would be away from the nightmares. And I would take you, Tate. If I'm going on an adventure, I want someone I know who will make memories with me." Elena smiled from ear to ear, and let out a laugh, noticing how they are just throwing questions at each other. Well, it was getting to know each other quite a bit better, and releasing the secrets on their mind. Elena put a finger to her lips as she thought for another question for Tate, watching him as she did so.
Later that night, when dark fell around them, Tate received a call from his sister that required for him to go home. So, using Jeremy's car that he left behind, that Elena recently discovered that he did, she used his car and drove Tate back to his own house. When arriving at Tate's door, Elena smiled at him from the driver's seat and watched as he got out. She allowed for him to borrow Jeremy's sweatpants for now. He looked good in it. Really good. "You better talk to me later," warned Elena with a big smile of hers. Her curls were still intact, but looked much more natural rather than the tight ones earlier. She was glad that Tate came with her as her date. "I had a great time. Tha-" Elena paused herself, remembering what Tate had said and let out a chuckle. "Never mind. Have a good night, Tate."

♣ Tate waved goodbye to his friend, giving her a wink when she stopped herself from saying thanks again. Good. Tate didn't like being thanked for things in general but Elena was different. He enjoyed being with her just as much as she enjoyed being with him, maybe even more, so he didn't want her to thank him for just being a decent friend. Tate jogged straight up to his door, turning the key in the appropriate hole and entering. "Kai, you're ruining my life!" He called out to his sister, wherever she may be in the house. Well, he knew that he told her to come home but she always got to have fun, he just didnt want her with that guy tonight. But that did not give her the right to ruin his rare fun. When Kailan made herself apparent, Tate huffed. " You know, i just didn't want you to have sex with Klaus. But i was actually having fun with Elena. And you've got to call and make me come home" Well, Tate could have honestly stayed with Elena, probably spend the night, but he knew that it wouldn't be fair since his sister actually listened to him tonight. "Can we talk about what happened tonight? Why didn't you tell me you were going to show up? And why were you so rude to her - she thinks you hate her. What if she wasn't so cool and thought that you being a b***h would be a deal breaker for us. And why'd you got to mention those boys she was with? You know what she actually said? She thinks Ash is charming - freaking Ash - thats the kind of bar you set. Speaking of Ash, where's the guy?"

Kailan looked Tate when she heard him enter and listened to as he ranted. Her arms immediately crossed over her chest as she scoffed lightly at his accusation. Of course she was being bitter towards Elena, but that was because she wanted to protect her little brother. "I just don't want to have another Madison in your life," said Kailan. "Plus, I know how she is. I heard about her. I just wanted to protect you. But that's not why I told you to come home. Ash is outside, setting up the Mountain Ash around the house.." Kailan let out a deep sigh and warned him, "The Alphas are narrowing in on this side of the town. They are practically slamming down doors. I needed you home to be safe."
Elena was driving down a long, empty road, the darkness surrounding her. Her mind was focused on the road, and that only. Yes, her thoughts kept wandering over to the day. How Tate pressed them together and danced with her. How he called the committee out when she didn't grant the title of Miss Mystic Falls. Soon, her phone began to ring in the passenger seat. When looking over, Elena saw that it was her friend Caroline. Seating a glance to the empty road in case for any oncoming traffic or wandering people, Elena noted that it was empty with fog and she reached over for the phone. When reaching over, Elena couldn't see over the dash and was momentarily blinded. After sitting back up in her seat, and looking up from her phone, she saw a shadow of a body on the road, just standing there. With a loud gasp, Elena dropped the phone, gripped the wheels, and slammed on the brakes all at the same time. However, when slamming on the brakes, this caused the car to stop to abruptly and start to roll. Elena felt two rolls before she was perfectly still and upside down. She heard the shatters of glass, the tear of metal, the skis of the wheels just before she finally heard silence. Blood trickled from her forehead and her nose, and she could feel it rushing to her head. Looking out the driver's window, she saw feet, the same as the ones that was standing in the middle of the road. As the person started to walk towards her, Elena started to panic. She desperately grabbed at the buckle that was wrapped around her waist, but it wouldn't budge. "C'mon!" she growled, not harnessing enough strength to get out. When looking up, and seeing her hair lay on the roof of the car, Elena started to look around for where her phone went. Her heart race quickened and she was growing even more worried. "Where are you.." she muttered with a shaky breath. Finding the black phone, Elena saw that her battery told her it was about to die. Quickly, she shot Tate a text, since she believed he was the closest. A few miles away, yes, but the closest. "help" was what was sent, and Elena looked out the window. The feet took their time, not in a quick pace to reach her, as if they had all the time in the world.

♣ Upon Kailan's reveal of her true motive to bring him home, Tate's eyes widened. He appreciated her concern for him but..."What about Elena??!" He asked frantically. Elena probably wasn't Kailan's top priority since she already claimed to not want another Madison but Elena is different. "K-Kai she's human. She cant defend herself, she probably doesn't even know what mountain ash is" Now Tate was worried. The boy threw his folded tux across a chair and looked at Kailan. "I know you want me safe but i've got to make sure that she's okay -" People would usually say that if your presence is known - through calling or walking into a room, for instance -whilst people were talking about you, you'd live long. But Elena's text made Tate worry that she wouldn't have that luxury. Tate looked at his sister impatiently and took her cat keys. "I leave her in this mess and now she needs my help". Tate was truly passionate when it came to Elena. On his way out the house, Tate demanded Ash let him out of the mountain ash and too patch it back up as soon as he was gone. Even if he was running out, he wanted them to be safe. When Ash let Tate out, Tate spoke to Ash as he went to the car. "Im bringing her back, i'll call you to let me in before she gets here". He'd prefer to bring her back to his house, even if it was a house filled with creatures. It was much safer than her house at the moment. He didn't care about the distance in the area, Tate was sure that Alphas would rampage all over town.
♣ Now Tate was on the road, driving ferociously. He didnt care what Elena needed help with. It clearly wasnt something stupid since her text seemed....more urgent than usual. One word text messages were never a good sign. It would have been wise to text her back and ask her where she was but she texted him to quickly to already be home and he doubted that she decided go take a detour in the middle of the night for some tacos so Tate was driving on the road at the fastest speed possible that would prevent him from being arrested. He just hoped that he could get to her quickly. If it was an Alpha, he'd flip s**t right then and there because there was no way in hell that these alphas were just going to come into his town and hurt his girl...friend. Female friend. Whatever, that doesn't matter. He just needed to get to her. After a couple minutes of driving, Tate neared a flipped car and a man walking towards it. Part of him wanted this to just be a random person but, even if it was, Tate couldn't drive past this like it was none of his concern. Tate slowed down his car and jumped out before the thing even came to a full halt. "Hey!" He called out to the guy walking towards the car. "******** off, b***h!" He insulted. Well, a b***h was a female dog so Tate basically called this alpha a gender that he didn't belong to, and deemed him a weaker species. Yeah, Tate was going to get his a** handed to him. The alpha charged towards Tate and Tate stood his ground, ready to wolf out. Unbeknownst to Tate, his eyes briefly went red, a color he wasn't used to. The other alpha stopped his launch and backed away in submission, growling about how 'this wasn't over'. Whatever. Tate immediately went to the car and felt his chest tighten at the sigh of Elena. "What the heck, Elena?!" He said, trying to pry the door open. It took some wiggling and light werewolf strength. Once he got the door open, he helped Elena out of the seatbelt and pulled her out of the car and on to his lap, the two of them sitting on the side of the road as he assessed the damage done to her. "Are you okay? Who was that?!!" Well, Tate knew what it was, just not what it wanted with Elena. Tate wiped the blood from Elena's forehead with the hem of his shirt. "C'mon, okay? Im taking you back to my place." Tate didn't care, Elena wasn't going to argue with him; he left no room for that. Tate placed Elena in the backseat of Kailan's car and closed the door, jogging over to her brother's car just to retrieve any items Elena may need within the time. Once he got a hold of things and was back in the car, they were off. "We'll be back to my place soon, i promise"

Elena felt her heart beating faster as the feet started to narrow. Desperately, she tried to jerk the seat belt off of her. Her hands grabbed for the strap, yanking at the wrap like it would break. Even the buckle wasn't budging. Elena was trapped and as the feet started to be heard in her ear, she heard herself let out a few whimpers. Shuddering breaths, blurry eyes, and blood trickling against the roof. As she felt the blood continue to be rushed to her head, she continued to feel the strength leave her. There was a brief scream from Elena, a urgent attempt to alert anyone that was nearby, though the area was vacant when she was driving. Until now. But then Elena heard a voice. Not just anyone's, Tate's. He was going to try to scare away the man that was approaching her. Elena wanted Tate to get her out of the car, not to deal with the man who looked rather scary. For all she knew, he could be a vampire, or one of Klaus's hybrids. Elena watched as Tate's feet started to come in view from the upside down windshield. "Tate.." she breathed, barely audible. Afraid that the guy whom brought her happiness recently was going to get hurt, Elena started to fight her seat. She needed to be free and tell him to get them both out of here. She wouldn't forgive herself if he got hurt.
Elena's attempt to release herself didn't succeed because she stopped in a gasp when Tate was suddenly at her window asking 'what the heck'. Startled, Elena felt relief wash over her knowing that Tate made the stranger run away. Probably was just some normal human. Elena still felt trembled, and her voice was almost a wavering sadness. "He - he - he just came out nowhere! He just stood there and I almost hit him!" Tate easily yanked the door off the car frame. Too easy, in fact. Perhaps it was just the car badly wrecked. Elena didn't feel like over analyzing anything. Reaching her hands over her head, Elena waited until Tate released her from the seat to finally fall to the ground. Tate caught her slightly, though, and pulled her out of the broken car and onto his lap. "Oh my god.." she whispered, gripping onto Tate's shirt as she was held close. When placed in the backseat of Tate's car, Elena could feel her eyelids slowly close. She could feel herself grow closer to being passed out.
When Tate arrived with an Elena in his arms, Kailan wasn't at first aware of her condition. "Tate, what the hell do you think-" started Kailan, about to go on a rant, but then saw a strength worn out Elena in his arms. Her head was rested against his shoulder, her eyelids were closed, but Kailan could see slight movements indicating that she was still awake and conscious. "What happened?" asked Kailan, pointing to the couch for Tate to set Elena down on. Ash was outside, fixing the Mountain Ash surrounding the house. Kailan looked at the small gash at the top of Elena's forehead. "Okay, what the hell happened?" Her condition wasn't bad, just a small gash and a nosebleed. But Kailan saw Elena pull up just a second before Tate had to leave.
