Anabel blinked at the cat, and without thinking, tilted her bag of buffalo wing potato chips towards her as if she were offering. "I don't think Kaat will mind if you don't. I think she was just setting it up in case." She could use some help with the lights; she knew how to work the machine, she wasn't slow, but honestly she'd rather watch the shenanigans in the neon-green and black camera view from the televisions. At least this part wasn't getting recorded. A lot of people were behaving kind of silly in there. She turned back to the cats. "Princesses?" This was so much more complicated than Finn had ever led her to believe. "Pretend I'm super new and explain things very slowly. Being a princess gives you knights?"
Okay. No. Focus. Rather than exploring all the need-to-knows of knighthood, she should be explaining things to the cats! "Oh, yeah, uh, I guess Ash is hanging out with me and helping me work the lights… but the rest of you can go through that door they went through to the arena. I guess… you, Horatio? You look pretty fast. You can be it! Your goal is… to make other people be it as often as possible by hiding. It's stealth training, after all. Sound like fun?"

Lily was super excited when it was time for them to go into the laser tag arena. "I haven't done this in so long. I really ought to call Nate, so we can hang out," she said thinking on the last time she went laser tagging. It had been with Sam, they'd accidentally met up with Nate and it had been a lot of fun. She grinned at Paris as she put on the gear clearly ready to get started.
She listened to what Kaatje was saying, but as soon as it was time to start, she was off, gun poised to shoot. Despite the dark, one got use to midnight conditions once you patrolled enough. Sure it was dark, but she knew what she was looking for. It was probably a bit unfair, in that she was sure Paris could spot her easy enough even at a glance, they'd know each other for years now. The same went for her finding Paris.
"Gotcha," she called out quietly thinking she'd spotted the girl and taking a shot or two.
Her lights went off too several times and she was sure it was Paris. This was suppose to be somewhat serious, but she couldn't help but to laugh at the experience. Though her giggling probably wasn't helping her stealth at all.

Karen. She bristled, and tried to tell herself he hadn't said her name wrong on purpose (people seldom did), but it wasn't helping her opinion any. "It's Keren," she said, trying very hard to not grit her teeth and show her frustration. "Eh. There's no A in it."
DCU parties? Well, no, she didn't make it to a lot of those - maybe next year, when she was actually a university student. "I go to Horizon Institute," she said, as they headed towards the arena. "So DCU's not really my main haunt. I was on the surrounding a few years ago?" In her experience, when people thought she looked familiar, there was about a fifty-percent chance it was from there.
"Anyway," she said, strapping on her gear. "I'm going to kick your butt."
She was kind of mediocre at the butt-kicking, it turned out. Too much bluster and not enough actual concentration.
Done with his warm up, he looked to make sure Tallulah was done with hers and gave an after you gesture to the girl so she could enter the room first ever the gentleman even if he wasn't the most talkative partner. When Kaatje told them to suit, he did so, putting on the bulky equipment and feeling totally out of his element.
He looked to Tallulah and frowned wholly. "this isn't comfortable at all.," he said. He'd never played laser tag in his entire life. Did he even have the thing on correctly? He guessed if he didn't he would be corrected. He tried to get more comfortable, but he figured after a moment he would just have to deal. Would they have to where these the whole time?
He turned back to Kaatje listening to her instructions until the second round of training started. All he had to do was find Tallulah and shot her and keep up with her. Easy, right? Probably not but he was certainly going to try his best. "Are you ready," he asked her before moving away, "good luck!"

"You have it buckled wrong," said Tallulah, pursing her lips as she adjusted the straps on Xander's game vest. She was feeling confident about today's exercises - laser tag was a hobby she'd picked up during her lengthy recovery.
Heading into the arena, she readied her gun and gazed eagerly into the dark. But as good as she might have been at laser tag in general, it was very hard to sort Xander out from the rest of the players running around in the dark.
Emerging from the arena, Tallulah groaned to see her score. "I was so hoping to do better than that," she sighed to Xander.

It had turned out that the blonde that he'd approached was indeed his partner as she queried his name as he'd walked towards her."Yes I'm Arian," he said repeating himself. "Or Sailor Athene when powered, it's nice to meet you Alexis."
Alexis hadn't appeared to have had any problem with the warm ups either and it didn't feel like that long had passed before Kaatje was speaking to them again and telling them all to suit up whilst she spoke to them. Arian had never played laser tag before and so did his best to try and listen carefully to what she said as he put on the indicated equipment. He had nodded at points of Kaatje's speech such as when she mentioned things like most of their fights when powered being in urban places and tried his hardest not wrinkle his nose, despite wanting to, at her mention of once having to sit in a dumpster for over an hour - it wasn't like he didn't get the logic behind it because he did and would do reluctantly himself if he felt he had to, just as he had once reluctantly dug through a bin gloveless in order to try to find projectiles - however sitting in a dumpster was definitely on his list of things that he'd really rather not do.
And then Kaatje had finished speaking and it appeared it was time for them to go in and track their partners. Arian had looked over at Alexis to see if she was ready and quietly offered "Good luck" before heading towards the line of people entering through the door.
Inside he'd done his best to do what Kaatje had told them, doing his hardest to track Alexis and try to shoot her with the gun and he thought he may have even found his partner a few times, although he wasn't completely sure of it and had the feeling that he would be doing some of the mentioned push ups when he got back out.
"Nice to meet you Horatio" Liryn said cheerfully. Come to think about it, it was possible that he had seen Horatio amongst all the other cats that night at the park, after all there had been so many of them there, although he had been mostly focused firstly on Sheena and Ash and then later on the silvery grey furred cat (*********) that had been able to turn herself into a mauvian senshi.
He had looked at the tilted bag of chips in interest, but the offer appeared to be being made to Ash, particularly was Anabel mentioned something about her staying and working the lights. Heading inside the arena sounded interesting, particularly as all the others had gone through earlier and hiding didn't sound too hard.
Horatio had scampered off, the cream furred cat fast on her feet, however Liryn didn't immediately follow instead turning first to Ash and saying "I guess I'll see you later then Ash," before tilting his head to look at Snowball and asking "Are you coming too?" He waited to hear the fluffy white cat's answer before trotting and following in the direction that Horatio had headed, wishing that Ash was coming with as the whole arena thing sounded a lot of fun.
Inside the arena Liryn did his best to stay hidden, however he was pretty sure that he'd ended up caught a few times although (at least to his way of thinking) it could have ended up worse.

Alex took out some chips from the bag and munched on them. She was quiet for a moment before speaking in a softer tone. "The monsters you need to worry about are not the youma and mirror wraiths, but the ones who power up." She turned around and pulled up her shirt, showing the massive healing burn across her lower back. "A bunch of people from both sides targeted one specific group of senshi, and in trying to destroy them burned the god damn building down. Not all of use got out without injury." Her face was somber briefly and she sighed. Her own side was just as bad as Chaos sometimes.
The girl shrugged herself out of her mood and ate more chips as the next phase of the training started. Oh this would be hilarious. She set herself up on the stool as Anabel talked to the cats. Well then, time to watch people fail at finding each other!
She blinked a little, feeling incredibly awkward. Was Mary not friendly enough? Was Mary actually scaring her off? Was there something she was missing that was making this girl give her the cold shoulder. She opened her mouth a few time but didn't speak and sort of just internally flailed, flapping wings and flicking tails.
This had never happened before! Mary didn't quite know what to do with it except she want to make amends and try to be this girl's friend since they were partners. But, how was she going to do that if the other girl just kept her closed off, and didn't tell her name!
These sort of thoughts went right through Mary the whole time she was supposed to be searching for She Who Won't Give A Name and never once did she find her. Not once.
By the end of the first task, Paris figured she did about as well as she had the last time she'd played laser tag, with the exception that her aim had improved at some point.
Or she'd just gotten lucky.
Considering she was typically pretty open to admitting when she was bad at something, she was going to go with “lucky.”
Evading had never been a terribly big problem for her. She got enough practice with that during patrols, seeing as she made a habit of keeping herself as under the radar as it was possible to be as an Eternal in such a noticeable getup. Still, Lily managed to track her well, though Paris suspected this had more to do with the fact that they knew one another pretty well and could predict their habits. She followed suit, tracking Lily easily despite her friend's efforts to slip by. Paris's last venture into the laser tag arena had ended with her getting a hit on a few of her own teammates; this time her aim was restricted entirely to Lily.
“That wasn't too bad at all,” she said as the two of them made their way back out of the arena.
Then it was right back to the conversation the first task had interrupted. “Yeah, I've got one more final left and then I'm done until the first summer session. I'm taking some online classes, finishing up my required Gen Ed credits while I'm laid out for a couple of months. But then come fall I'll be doing an apprenticeship program with the Destiny City Ballet, finish up my last year getting some more professional experience in. So long as I pass everything between now and then, I'll be graduating a year early.”
There was an obvious tone of pride in her voice. But then, coming from someone who'd had so much trouble throughout high school, graduating college in three years was a pretty big accomplishment.
Jeanne looked a little startled for a moment to realize exactly who she was working with, and then she laughed. "Well ain't that funny. Nice t'meetcha this way, Quenton." His name didn't come off quite perfectly with her thick accent.
There wasn't much time to chatter, unfortunately since they had to suit up for the next stage - and it was a stage in which, on the whole, Jeanne did not do well. Tracking targets was not her specialty by any means, and unfortunately for her Quenton was far better at it than she. So when it ended she was red-faced, embarrassed at her apparent utter tracking failure.
"Cry 'Havoc' ? I suppose we will need an assured victory first, before we be so bold." They neither needed to aid each other in getting on their gear, which was a plus. Has she been to a laser tag before? I can't say as I have, though I have gone to paintball on an experience lark. The gear is fairly straight forward. Insert tab a into slot b.
But it was time to buckle down, which meant staying low or high to avoid being in the peak waist-to-shoulder area for human vision, traveling without rhythm in steps if he was standing, keeping to cover, and staying patient. If Jeanne was anything like her alter-name, she was likely to not be very patient and not stay in one spot very long. She would hunt rapidly and relentless.
When the time came, he felt good about how often he'd sighted her for a shot. She hadn't seemed to find him as often, which was good as an 'enemy' in laser tag, but no good for a partner. "You're adamant once you've got a hint of a target. I expect we get some pushups just the same."

"Can't say I'm any kind of expert," Finn laughed uncertainly to Maggie. "Knights, we're kind of our own thing."
Heading into the laser tag arena, he felt a bit uncertain. Finn's realm was the great outdoors, not dark, cramped spaces full of crates and people running every which way. He lost sight of Maggie almost immediately, and either she was very good, or he was very bad, because his score was absolutely dismal.
"I'm completely out of my element," he confessed, as they headed back out to the lobby. But hey - at least everyone was having fun! He glanced around for Elke, trying to see if she was okay.

The gregarious cat was always glad to meet new friends, and she all but chirped at Liryn's greeting. "Hi! I'm Horatio and I think... maybe I know some of you from when all the Mauvians fought that monster? Maybe? I kinda over did it then and don't remember much after I passed out but either way, let's have a good time today and--"
And then the lady (Anabel) said her name and said she looked fast. Fast. Fast was the core of her very being, of course she looked fast! To show her seriousness towards the game, the Himalayan pulled down her peppermint-swirled goggles before looking up at her. "Roger that! I'm good at running and I like hiding because it's good for pranking so I'll do my best!"
So this was like a speedier version of the sneaking around she had done to get in the building? Well, that just meant it was more fun because faster always, always equaled more fun. Without further need for instruction (or at least not pausing to wait for any), Horatio dashed off for the panels designed for humans to crouch behind. She ran to one shady spot after another, the biggest, happiest grin on her face as her heart pumped and oxygen burned in her lungs. RUNNING WAS THE BEST.

Elke ducked into the darkness of the arena and stood, uncertainly, just inside the door for half a moment to let her eyes adjust. Once she could see enough to be getting on with, she followed a slim, curving ramp up, and then some stairs, and eventually found her way to what seemed like a relatively defensible position. Did one really need to use stealth if they just had a good vantage point? She didn't think so.
She'd had breakfast, so she felt like she maybe had the energy to try on this--she settled her back to the wall, which was covered in some kind of fuzzy material. Probably to block sound. Not like Kaatje had queued up any kind of music, though, everything was so quiet except for the sound of footsteps and voices.
If she had someone she knew better, maybe she'd be able to pick them out by their voice, but as it was, she shifted onto her toes and peeked over the fake-rock side of her encampment. Her high positioning gave her a decent view of almost every level of the arena except her own, and she took the unfamiliar weapon in hand when she thought she spotted a tall brunette.
But maybe it was Tallulah's fiance? Oh, ********, this was hard. She was glad when the lights went on and Kaatje called them out.
Well, at least she hadn't shot anyone not her teammate... Speaking of, she took a look around. Where was he?

--- Nick wasn't much given to stealth. He was too tall, too gangly, and pale as ********. At least the blacklight wasn't on--he had a feeling his skin would like up like a torch. But maybe not? He had no idea how blacklights worked.
His tactic was go left, stay low, and find one of the little artificial tunnels. Delilah hadn't seemed necessarily unintelligent, just quiet, and that boded poorly for his intended goal: which was, of course, to hit her with the laser. Maybe he ought to stick closer to Tallulah? She'd had some sort of prior experience...
Despite not finding Tallulah, he did apparently hit Delilah a few times. He crossed the lobby to his girlfriend and said, "Well, that only sucked a little bit."
