Atticus smiled, "You're right, if Charlotte was a normal witch she would be taken away, but she is not normal and neither are you." Atticus told her. "The only reason why you haven't been found out or Charlotte, is because of Divine. You two are both the heir to his throne, so you are both protected from the laws. This was something that Divine had told me himself." Atticus stated. "All I wanted to know was how you would react if you were not so special and the laws applied to you." As with everything, Atticus went about doing things in very complicated and sometimes infuriated ways, this being one of them. "However, that will change pretty soon." he added.
Atticus expected Mirai to go quiet, this was one of her ways of dealing with things, despite their difference, he still was able to pick up on her little habits. "I've been hearing talks about a tournament coming up that will decide the new King or Queen of the Netherworld. Of course there would be no need for a tournament if the eldest of Divine's blood-related children was to step up and take the throne. Should you do that, you could do whatever you wish." Atticus glanced over to Mirai then. "If you wish to continue living this fantasy life with that boy, all you have to do is become the Queen or not and risk losing everything by having this tournament and letting someone else take the throne." Atticus almost sounded as if he wanted Mirai to become the Queen, then again, he could just be testing her like always. "Either way, a change is coming to Netherworld."

Without a second glance you left me stranded I climbed I slipped I fell but at least I tried If you turn your back, I'll burn that bridge

Mirai blinked in surprise when he said that she could step up and take the throne. It made sense. She was quiet for a moment or two "I don't want to. I want to be DMA head... or something else... not a queen..." she said "That and doing that would just make Vincent hate me more." she told Atticus. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"If that is true, then you better be prepared for whatever may come, when the new power takes over." Atticus told her, before looking back at the sky, "Do you honestly think Vin hates you?" he asked. "I mean, yeah, he has taken after a certain individual and may sometimes say things that come off as mean or rude, but all you need to do is spend time with him. Just the two of you, he's quite the kid and even if he won't admit it, he values you, in his own way." Atticus was speaking from experience, as he and Mirai's relationship grew farther apart, his and Vincent's only grew closer. Maybe this was because they were brothers and the bond between brothers was a very strong one.

"Well I wouldn't know that since he was with you the whole time we were training while Texas and eye were outside that little circle... he even began also talking crap about my partner..." Mirai said. "So it is kind of difficult to grow close to someone who disrespects my friend and partner who is an extension of myself when I fight. It is like they are disrespecting me as well." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"If I've learned anything, from this illness of mine, it is that, time is short and you should live while you can." Atticus stated, looking over towards Shira, "Sometimes, you just need to let things go and forgive those who harm you or those you love." Atticus thought back to his talk with Emma and how he and Herald managed to become friends again. "He's still your little brother, all you need to do is confront him and talk it out. Don't let your relationship with him, end up like ours." Atticus sounded somewhat regretful for how things between him and Mirai turned out. "As long as you two are getting along, I can stop worrying about you and focus on myself and spending the remainder of my life with Shira." Atticus stood up then and walked over towards Shira, "Besides, Vin is only jealous of you and is taking it out by being well, Vin."

"Uh-huh..." Mirai replied quietly, staring at the mansion then. Shira sat there quietly while looking at the flowers that had returned to their normal blue color and were radiating the realm now with their light. She glanced up at Atticus when he came over to her then. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Looking down at Shira, Atticus would sit down next to her, "When this is over, there is something I want to show you." Atticus told her before he looked back Mirai. "Would you give your life for him?" he asked. "Why would you risk your life just to protect that boy? Even though you know that someday, he will be activated and he will cause death wherever he goes?" Strangely enough, this is the longest the two of them have talked to one another in a long time. "I will say this again, don't let your emotions cloud your mind. Should he refuse to come with us, you know that I will be forced to act, right?" Atticus had decided to get back to the topic at hand, as thirty minutes had passed by. "He has half an hour left."

Shira blinked up at Atticus "Oh... alright." she said with a nod. Mirai glanced over at Atticus "Texas has been through a lot and has had no one to rely on. He has been alone for a while. I want to be that person he can rely on and come to whenever he needs help. That means I trust him no matter what. I know I can bring him back if he is ever activated. He isn't weak and he wouldn't let that overcome him." she told him with a serious expression. "If you are going to have a conversation with him, do it here. Taking him to an interrogation room or wherever you do plan on taking him won't help you get anywhere." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Texas isn't the only one whose been through a lot. Many people have experienced terrible things in their lives, but if he can't move pass it and stand on his own, then he'll just keep on relying on others for the rest of his life." Atticus was speaking from his own personal experiences. "When the time comes, you will have to choose, which is more precious to you." Atticus sighed, "Mirai, if I should ignore your rule and seek to take him by force, what will you do to me?" he asked as he began to walk towards Mirai, "If I actively sought to harm both him and you, would you fight back? Would you flee?"

Mirai frowned, she felt the urge to tell him more reasons why she wanted to protect Texas. She had a bunch. In the end, she chose not too because it would fall on deaf ears "I'll stop you. Either by force or I will kick you out of the realm. Next time you try and step foot here though, the alarm won't just be a bunch of red flowers." she warned. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Atticus wasn't surprised to hear Mirai's response, she has always resembled Divine in that way. Stopping in front of her, Atticus would smile, "Mirai, you may very well be a powerful being, but you are not as strong as you think you are." Raising his right hand, Atticus looked as if he might actually try and strike her, but in actuality he would place his hand on her head, "You can't beat me. You lack the determination and strength, unlike me, you have something lose. My life is already nearing its in, so even if it is against you. I will fight with no mercy, no restraints, no remorse. I won't be defeated by anyone, so if you wish to get rid of me, you'd better kick me out while you still can." It sounded like Atticus was warning Mirai. With his hand still on her head, Atticus looked up at the mansion, "10 minutes left."

Shira blinked in surprise while Mirai stood there quietly. She had a huge grimace on her face as she looked at the ground before teleporting away from Atticus and glancing back at the mansion. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
As Mirai teleported away from him, Atticus kept his hand in the air and looked towards her. Sighing, he put his hand down and removed the red shades that he was wearing. "You've made your choice. From now on, you will be on your own, you will not be under the protection of Death City or Charlotte anymore. It is time for you to fend for yourself and see just how powerless you are in the world." Atticus' words were cruel, but behind them, he was still trying to teach her, "If you can stand on your own and prove to me that you are truly capable of handling whatever is thrown your way, whatever misfortune that befall you or your partner, then you will have earned my blessing and I will acknowledge my own mistakes and recognize the boy as your partner and welcome him." Atticus then smiled, "However, I am no longer the fool that would risk life and limb, by jumping head first into battle, all for the sake of his precious little sister. I've grown. I've finally realized that I can not fret over you anymore. No, now you will have to deal with me, not as a friend or sibling but as an obstacle that you will need to someday surpass." Atticus turned away, "5 minutes." As he said that, both Shira and Mirai would sense Atticus' aura shift, it felt like he was preparing to attack, not the mansion, but Mirai, herself.
