The nekos interjected every now and again with the odd question, but overall they just listened intently.

At Miyuki's last comment, even Kaito didn't have anything snarky to say.

"Well, Miyuki, there's a reason the Pokemon train with each other," Shiro pointed out quietly. "They're quite resilient creatures, far stronger than people. And their attacks are meant to defend you."

He put one hand on Miyuki's shoulder comfortingly. "Taking another's life is always awful, but sometimes it is necessary. Don't be afraid of it."

She ran her fingers through her hair and nodded, "I know, but that's the reason why... well I'm getting ahead of myself. We had to move, the General was going to notice his missing men..."

She explained that it was Kyrie's idea to make it look like dragons attacked the house. Since Mari and Kyrie had dragon companions. The question was of where they would stay. In a move, Miyuki herself would have never thought for the tents, everyone but Kyrie hid in the tents. Kyrie folded them back up, put them in the bag and smuggled them into the city where they stayed in another basement.

Though Miyuki had to comment off handily that she would have never thought of that use for the tents even though she knew very well the theory behind them. She should, the idea of creating a pocket dimension was something she had to study thoroughly before trying herself.

They had spent another day, only to be fond early the next morning. It was pretty much a mess, no one had time to grab their weapons, Andarien and Miyuki barely grabbed their Pokemon and Andarien went into shock. The meeting of the General was something Miyuki couldn't forget because he was very creepy to her even though she didn't know why back then.

Lin had since then sat Miyuki down, realizing that unlike Lin (who had learned during her time in high school), Miyuki didn't understand those kind of relationships. It was probably the most awkward talk Lin ever had with Miyuki, but seeing as she was an adult (as far as anyone could tell), Miyuki needed that talk.

She told them the weird and creepy conversation up till the General died.

"Well.. I"m sure it was a lightening spell, but I'm not sure who cast it first, Cael or Lancerial, or maybe it was both," Miyuki explained to the nekos, "But you really couldn't tell it was him afterwards, and then Kyrie broke through the windows, or she did at the same time. Chaos just broke out, you had people siding with Mari, people siding with the General..."

"Sounds chaotic," Kaito grimaced.

Shiro nodded his agreement. "But what about your father? Where was he in all of this? Arrested you said, but ..."

He had a feeling this is where the torture came in, but he wanted to know more.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2014 4:09 pm

"He was apparently being kept in an isolation cell," Miyuki explained.

It wasn't until the room was secure that they could go and find ada. From what they were told by Cael and Maravel, he had been tortured for information on their whereabouts. Even though it would have been a moot point, Kyrie never told them where they were headed, and they were in the middle of getting to their location when her father was captured.

When they found him there was a lot of blood, he had apparently taken several blows to the face on top of the cuts, which would explain the damage to the ears and eyes. It took healing from Cael and Lancerial to get him stable, since her ada was weak from his ordeal, Cael had them stay in his room while the rest of the castle was being secured.

"Ada slept through the rest of the day, but he was already getting twitchy by the next day," Miyuki told them, "He's not a really good bed rester."

"No, he isn't." Despite the grimness of Miyuki's tale, Kaito couldn't help but grin at that. Earendil was probably the worst rester he knew.

"And yet everything seems to happen to him," Shiro quipped. "Alassëa's falcon attacking him, getting arrested in Garnelia ..."
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2014 4:25 pm

"Yea.... mom mentioned something about that once during our stay. She also said this wasn't his first time being arrested?"

Miyuki didn't really know that story, only that it involved Caras Galadhon.

"Anyways, Kyrie, Cael and Mari, along with several others went to retake the rest of the country," Miyuki explained, "Which left the rest of us in the castle. Ada recovered, mom stayed with him and once he was well they just spent a lot of time together..."

She wasn't quite sure what her parents spent time doing though.

"Andarien got to use the forge during our stay and made watches and music boxes. Lancerial spent time teaching me plant magic, I finally tested those binding runes and finished the preservation seals. We have a meat box, and a spice and fruit and veggie box. We also have a cold box, I'm thinking when we go North to get snow and ice and make ice cream, but I need to know the ingredients for that. Then store the ice cream and sell it in warmer places. We also have several bento boxes to keep hot meals in. Andarien and I also spent our time restoring the conservatory in the castle."

She paused and then added.

"And of course Ai gave birth to eevees while we were there."

Kaito grinned. "Of course she did. So tell us about them. More boys? I see two of them - I think. Just them or am I missing some?"

One never knew, after all. There could be more that were in pokeballs or just in hiding.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2014 7:07 pm

"Just two of them like before, but this time both girls," Miyuki replied.

Considering the rarity of females that was a bit unusual.

"Kaede is being raised by Andarien, she has this little leaf birthmark on her nose, and the girl I'm raising I named Suki. Well.... it's short for Natsuki, but I just end up calling her Suki. They're both pretty active and very curious.

Which was obvious because they were sniffing at everything, all the other tents, people's feet, and if Amir was on the ground probably him too.

"Cute," Kaito grinned.

"At least with the birthmark there's a way to tell them apart," Shiro added with a smile. "That's handy."

They chatted a while longer, and then those who had been traveling went off to rest.

They spent the next few days resting up and getting used to being in one place again, and getting to know the city a bit, since they hadn't really had the chance on their first visit. After a few days, when Lin suggested that they go talk to Mailon (whom Kyrie still refused to visit, apparently), Earendil agreed.

"Wonder what kind of shape he'll be in," he mused as he and Lin made their way to the clinic. It was a cloudy day, somewhat muggy, and rain was in the air.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2014 7:43 pm

"That's a good question," Lin mused thoughtfully, "He was in pretty bad shape when we found him so..."

So he could be much better at least, but probably not well enough to go anywhere.

"If he's still here, he's obviously not well enough to go anywhere, otherwise he probably would have left by now."

If what they heard was true that his healing was slowed down so that Kyrie could face him, then that man might be here a long while.

Earendil nodded. "Yes ... I would assume so, at any rate. But if what Shiro said is true ..."

Then the man was probably here not by choice. In a way it was cruel of Ahkshi to be doing this, both for Mailon and for Kyrie, but on the other hand it was important for Kyrie to face the man.

At least, those were his thoughts.

"Still, I'm sure there's been some measure of recovery," he added. "He was barely alive when we left, and it's been a full season."
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2014 8:13 pm

"True... I guess we'll just have to see," Lin nodded.

Fortunately, they had just made it to the clinic. Stepping inside, Lin checked to see if Ahkshi was there in the front room.

The waiting room of the clinic was empty, but various sounds could be heard from the back rooms.

Earendil glanced at Lin. "Shall we just go in?" he asked her. "I don't think Ahkshi would mind, Shiro says he does it all the time."

And Shiro had been visiting for weeks.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2014 8:42 pm

Shiro had mentioned it, and it wasn't like they were going to get in the way.

She nodded, "He did, so I guess it should be fine. We probably should have asked which of the back rooms he was being kept in."

Lin was sure he had been moved by now.

"It shouldn't be too hard to find him," Earendil reasoned. "There are only a few rooms back there - what, five? Six? - and I'm sure most of the others are empty."

So they probably wouldn't have to worry too much about disturbing people either, unless Ahkshi was treating someone.

He peeked into the first room they passed. It was empty, as was the room opposite it, where Daeron and Iorlas had stayed when they'd first arrived with Amir in such poor condition. The next two rooms were also empty. Then came the last two rooms on either side of the corridor. In one of them, Ahkshi was bandaging the knee of a child who looked like he'd fallen and scraped his leg; and the other doorway had a curtain pulled over it.

"This must be it," Earendil said quietly to Lin, nodding at the curtain. The only other room was the one straight at the end of the hall, where Ahkshi did surgery, and it was also empty.
