Psyche flew alongside her mother, just behind her younger brother, Infernum. Despite sharing a mother, the two were radically different. Psyche still carried a few misgivings about coming along. But if anything convinced her to go through with it, it was that Xibalba was going to be there... and the morbid curiousity of actually seeing war.
As she crested the waterfall and spied the mare, startled, below, she saw her mother and brother fly towards her. She hovered in place for just a moment before she spotted more movement - two... of the strangest things she had seen - they seemed to be eyes on wings. Her mind went to the ravens. Messengers.
There. That was something she could do. She took off after them - hoping to squelch the announcement of their arrival in the herdgrounds - at least for a bit. And... perhaps get a closer look at the bizarre, fascinating creatures - were they creatures?

Grimoire positively cackled as she soared over the crest of the waterfall and grinned daggers down at the mare staring at them below and putting up a pathetic show of bravery.
Infernum and Megaera seemed to be careening towards her. Let them take her. The little sentry. Hah! She wanted to catch someone else. Someone else alone. Someone surprised...
But while Meg didn't seem to care much for words, Grimoire called down to her as she went to sail past her in her pony-sized form, wings beating furiously hoping to get ahead of the pack, "We didn't come here for PEACE!" She whinnied shrilly.
Tefla Ill try to make a pair of them for you if you send me uncerts? :3

Malfeas needed no words, no jitteriness when the ravens arrived. He just smiled, letting his unsettlingly large mouth stretch his face just a bit wider. He snapped his wings open. They may not have been as large as some of the others, but they served him well. And with a practiced ease, he kicked off of the ground and climbed. Up, up up - a few hundred feet as the waterfall roared around him, almost calling to him, egging him on.
And soon, he got his first eyes full of the herdgrounds they were taking on. Yes. Yes this was excellent. Wide and lush, with a mare waiting for them below.
He caught the updrafts, hanging in the air for a moment, savoring the moment. No need to engage the front lines... That was taken care of. They were here to conquer. He allowed the little, eager fluttercorn to dart ahead, and slowly began his approach

Infernum leveled his fiery gaze at Stormfall. A ghost of a smile found his face. A worthy advesary. A maroon mare stood defiantly on the edge of the cliff. The ends of her hair faded into nothing, almost like the shadows of some of his herdmates. It was a pity that she was on the wrong side. "Your words mean nothing, little girl," he rumbled as he dived to engage her. He may not have had horns or fangs or other strikers like his bretheren... but he was large and powerful, with a blazing mane and tail... and front hoof. He dove for her, on a collision-course, that fiery hoof outstretched.

Seance's coils suddenly twisted into stillness as the anticipation coalesced around her as the battle cry was given. Her father who should stood near didn't run exactly; he was leading from behind. But this made Seance smile and her chest puffed up - he would get to see her. She would make him proud!
With pounding enthusiasm, his daughter bolted forward, crashing into the Thunderbird lands with a shout of championed rage. She wanted into the thick of the battle.
She didn't stop until she was in the middle of a meadow, breaking through the treeline and facing a gathering of unsuspecting other Soquili. She had absolutely no fighting experience, and had no idea what she intended to do now. Maybe if one of them was brave enough to approach her first...
She took a quite glance over her shoulder. Was Daddy watching?? She hoped so, because she was ready to give it all she had. There was no point of reference for her - no idea what exactly she may be getting herself into.

The moment that Teumesia saw the ravens, she nearly jumped the gun. Go. Go go go. What was taking him so long. She barely listened to the words that Infernum spoke when she exploded out from under the ledge with a flurry of feathers and fur.
All the time spent waiting was boiling pressure within the stir-crazy mare and she was long past ready to visit that energy and frustration out on the unsuspecting herd. She virtually raced Grimoire, and she could see the irritation on the little fluttercorn's face as she overtook her. It was no challenge. Teumesia was fast, absolutely fast, and with feathered wings rather than barely capable butterfly ones. She could see the tizzy that it was working the little mare into - she KNEW she wanted to play her deception games, and with the obviously aggressive pawed mare beside her it would never work. She stayed within range for a few moments, just to irk her. But in a playful gesture of good will, she veered off, heading off to the right to perhaps encounter different soquili than she.

Barghest was in no immediate hurry as the ravens returned - one of them, Omen - his own familiar. He smiled widely - pleased that Omen participated in the opening call to arms. It was... appropriate after all - this Omen would be an omen of the death of the soquili above them.
After Infernum sounded the attack, he waited for Omen to return to him, flapping around him, and then kicked off, sailing upwards on the updrafts from the waterfall as his raven circled him, joining him.
He soared high, above the crest of the waterfall, and higher still. He wanted to look down on these herdgrounds, see their layout, how the rivers intersected with the plains, and how many flecks of colorful soquili might be there, and where. A war was not a race.
He stretched his wings wide, casing a large shadow on the herd below, and that brought him satisfaction as he slowly glided further in, letting his shadow fall across a gathering of soquili below them. It was a delicious metaphor for the ominous beast.

Diogenes rushed forward at the command, without hesitation. He wasn't as fast as Seance, but he followed her into the thick of the territory, barreling forward with his pounding, bull-like hooves and long, sharp curved horns angled forward. His eyes scanned for his first victim conquest. He would steamroll anyone who dared challenge him; and he would have no mercy.

Tisiphone marched forward at the call; ever a dutiful mare. She was eager to get into the thick of battle; but not for some bloodlust like her herdmates. She wanted to find Lamia and her mother, so she could fight by their side. Not that she would defend herself if needed; but she was already more in the defensive mode than actively looking for trouble.
Her hooves were steady, pounding hard on the ground. She wasn't looking for a fight, but you wouldn't know by looking at her. Her confidence exuded from her very essence.
She knew her family would be eager to taste battle, and if she was to fall today; it would be by protecting them.

Legion a felt the anticipation put his fur on edge, his mouths breaking into a cackle as soon as the signal was given. One of Us was one of the ravens who gave the signal, and was soon roosting back in his place on Legion's shoulders.
He flared his wings at the command and proceeded with the attack. His mother and brother were both faster and stronger than he was, but he already saw an opportunity. Infernum was strong and a good warrior, it would be smart for him to stay close to his side. He landed near the mare he was attacking, but didn't get the way of his blows. "We have come, it is you who would be wise not to give pursuit!" he taunted at her, the mouths of his wings snapping at her.
His many eyes swiveled around, surveying the land. He felt alive; on fire - like he was witnessing some great event. Yes, perhaps this is what he had been waiting for. He would be the Witness to something great.
All his eyes focused on Stormfall, taking a step closer. Would it start with her?

Somewhere deep in her heart Stormfall had already guessed that this invading party had not come for peace. Why bother hiding beneath the waterfall if not to launch a surprise attack? But the question remained of how they had gotten there in the first place. Stormfall shook that question from her mind as she focused on the battle that was imminent to come. Two of the attacking party deemed her enough of a threat to focus their attention on her alone. Other Soquili went flying by and with a sinking feeling she watched as a blue flutter careened after her companion. Obviously though now her path lay in another direction. She could only hope that things would work out. Stormfall inwardly groaned as another individual strode forward. Battle loomed for her and in a three on one situation it did not look like she would have the advantage. Realizing that the stallion was the biggest threat of the trio Stormfall let her attention fall to the angle that he was diving at before adjusting her position. With a flick of her wings the mare was airborne as well and dodging the stallion’s opening shot by mere seconds. The move had not exactly been a subtle one. Taking to the air also seemed to have prevented a good chunk of her flesh being removed as the white stallion had seemed intent on doing. With three possibly attacking Soquili Stormfall realized that perhaps she had been foolish in preemptively making her challenge and taking a stand. Words had already gotten her into this mess. Being by herself had not helped either. Stormfall made a large circuit in the air before picking a place to land. Her hooves skimmed the ground just as something heavy crashed into her from above. --- The errand it had been sent on was dire. The winged creature understood this as much as it could. Winging its way towards the targeted area was easy enough but having to avoid detection by something larger than itself was not an easy task.

Lamia smiled wildly a she watched her family... her herd... take off like a flock of doves... no, not doves - nothing so innoculous as that. Like bats exiting a cave at nightfall. Eager and hungry for the spoils of night. She slid her intense eyes closed and just stood among them for a moment, letting the beautiful cacophony of their wings and buffeting of air wash over her before spreading her wings as well and setting off after them.
When she reached the top of the waterfall she looked down at the mare already set upon by Infernum, Megera, and Legion. Already a squabble over that one... she continued on, virtually salivating at the idea of tender foals. Oh she hoped there were foals about... She continued on into the herdgrounds, eyes unblinking as she searched for a particular kind of prey.

And there it was - the signal. Darkstorm didn't need to be told twice as she burst forth along with the strangers that her father had allied himself with. They were a strong bunch, and it made her heart pound in excitement to see the army that had been gathered for her father's cause.
She set off to the top of the waterfall, knowing that the other brigade - those on hoof and her father would be at the other side of the herdgrounds. She wanted him to see her as she fought for him - fought for their family - make him proud. She kept to the edges of the herdground as the first to the top engaged a lone soquili and kept her busy. She wanted to find the other side of their force, to be side by side with Firestorm when she joined the assault.

Pooka pranced out into the clearing after the announcement was made by that Firestorm that the game was starting! Oh hoooow exciting. She didn't care that brother Taraxippus was hanging back. He was always a spoil sport - so bad at games!
Her black, shadowy tail waved behind her like a banner as she surveyed the herdgrounds for the first time, and tried to decide where to begin. Oh there were so many options! North! South! West! Southwest! What way had the best birdy birds to play with?
She closed her eyes for a moment, spinning in a circle. "Whatever way I point, whatever way I'll go!"
She set down a hoof, stopping her spinning. She was facing a green meadow, with a river in the distance, and if she squinted with her four eyes, she could see flashes of color! She set off at a gallop!

Xibalba emerged from the trees a few paces behind Pooka and also surveyed the herdgrounds. This was the time. Pooka seemed to consort with the spirits in her own fashion, spinning about and letting fate choose the direction that that little top would take. he had another way.
He looked down at his feet, and looked to the direction that the air stirred the colorful energy that waved and billowed at his front hooves. It stretched away from the forests...
He didn't run. Didn't gallop. Why? The spirits would guide his steps and he would know if he needed to. They were in no rush to clear these lands - they needed to make an entrance.
But he set out straightforward, walking with an eerie air about him as he joined the assault.
