(( Anita: Food Tables – Meli, Cesc, Wasa, Ren, Tati, Luka ))

Though Shep's shout was heard, her growing anxiety clammed up any humorous response for now. Some trepidation was expected of the muse, given their last meeting, though the way Melisande responded to her mere presence made Anita's heart sink. Her smile faded as the sigel's did, and both women stood (or floated) near one another in a strange courtesy. After a few seconds, Anita righted herself and forced a short laugh, drawing the pamphlets back into a neat pile in her hands.

”Right. Yeah, of course,” she managed a smile again, nodding to Meli, and then the others who were duly occupied.

One of the freis she didn't recognize offered Anita a pleasant greeting and some of her worries slipped away. Just some. Anita smiled far more naturally at the hamsa and inched a little closer. ”Hi!” she extended a hand, the other tucking the pamphlets against her side, ”I'm Anita, what's your name?”

Around them, the gaggle was growing, though; a familiar frei floated up and a new woman who spoke a mile a minute and seemed to know Melisande. Anita offered them both a quick greeting, though her smile to Wasa was a bit strained considered how fast and disjointedly she seemed to be speaking. Both were offered pamphlets as well, though this time Anita merely held them out without a word and left most of her attention on Tatiana.

(( Cruz: Kitchen/Cafeteria – Duncan ))

While Mordekai was getting plenty of assistance, the mistletoe frei was floating a bit aimlessly and hanging back. He craned his neck curiously, watching the gaggle of men banter loudly (half in what seemed like complete gibberish but they kept using the same words so it had to be a language he just didn't know), and wrung his clawed hands. It was barely getting into the swing of Spring and already the croc's skin was darkening to match. By Summer he would be suitably bronzed. His attire was simple and overtly green as usual, the ribbon in his hair a nice red to match the color of the crawfish.

”Hm?” he smiled and turned his head when Duncan addressed him, ”Was seeing if I could help with anything but – think they got it.” Without legs, he couldn't really get the right amount of leverage to lift such heavy things, could he?

His hands moved up to the edges of his hood and Cruz tugged on it horizontally, attempting to expose his shoulders. There wasn't any hint of a flush, not the way warm blooded folk get when overheated, and he wasn't sweating, but the way he breathed and kept his mouth open when not speaking told otherwise. ”Hot, though. Gonna go out in a sec. Need anything, Duncan?”

(( Justin -> kitchen to food tables ))

"Alright; you just yell when you need me. Name's Justin." With a nod, he hoisted up the trays and wound his way back to the tables. He wove through the crowd carefully. It was getting crowded next to all the food. He was pretty sure he hip-checked someone on the way, too. Justin gulped and with a whoosh of air, unloaded the cornbread onto the table. It smelled delicious. But then again, everything did here. Shrugging he picked up a piece of still-warm cornbread and bit into it. Damn.

A bit at loose ends (after all, the raevan he spoke ever-so-briefly with was occupied), Justin wandered the table, plate in hand. A familiar voice tickled his ears and he turned, spotting Anita. "Hey, Anita," he called out, but left it at that. She had people around her, as usual, and Justin still broke out in a sweat thinking about plunging into crowds. Still, he managed to grab a name tag and a... pamphlet? Curious, he flipped it open

((Ethiriel and Henry -> arriving))

”Are you ready?” the nurse asked, his ever-present smile plastered on his face. This was the first Lab related outing he had been invited to with his so far short stint being involved, but he was more than excited for the both of them. Henry was already at Ethiriel’s side of the car, helping her out of the large contraption. She had already grown used to Leo’s.

Clinging lightly to his arm, the Frei nodded as she helped pull herself out. A smile didn’t grace her lips but for a second, a show of manners to accept his enthusiasm. ”I am,” she said, her voice low and calm.

The man’s smile faltered for just a moment, but soon returned with upturned brows. She still wasn’t feeling well and he couldn’t blame her. It was a crummy situation.

”Let me grab the stuff from the back and we can go!” Henry cheered, hesitantly letting go of Ethiriel’s arm so that he could explore the backseat of his car. In a large pitcher was Ethiriel’s contribution; freshly brewed tea with a naturally light sweetness. Then, in the trunk, were Henry’s; a small, portable grill and several packages of hotdogs and buns. Seafood wasn’t for everybody and he was sure that someone would want at least a little variation. It wouldn’t take long to cook at all.

And with that, he was back at his ward’s side to lead her in.

Dressed rather plainly, with the exception of his hair Henry looked plain-Jane standing next to Ethiriel. He had given her a normally thigh-length dress in a lovely shade of navy, accompanied by a deep blue shawl as a security blanket of sorts. While he was doing his best to make her comfortable, he wanted to help the poor Frei come out of her shell. She didn’t like much skin exposed, so he obliged as much as he could. He still wanted her to look good, of course.

((Cesc --> Food tables; Shep --> other side of the food tables, roll here))

Cesc waved his hand pleasant and shook his head, an air of friendly amusement still lingering around him. His aura grew stronger as he laughed, the gentleness extending like warmth around him. There was good humor in his gaze, and an honest compliment in his voice as he responded to Tatiana. "I would not worry. You are already quite independent, and will only be more so as you wish."

He also noted Anita, standing there with the pamphlets, and noted Melisande's discomfort. Anita -- he'd last seen her at Khadlok, tending to the green frei, Cruz. His smile softened as he took her in, looking whole and well, and dipped his head. "It's good to see you well."

He paused there -- or, rather, had no choice but to pause there as Wasa entered, barely remembering her from the garden party two years before. Two years! It was hard to forget such a woman, however. "Wasa! The artist, if I remember correctly?"

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Luka approaching, but assuming that he meant to be stealthy, he did nothing but offer his fel-brother a boyish grin, allowing him to sneak up behind Ren.

--

"Geezus," snorted Shepard, taking the offered beer with a nod of thanks. He absently filled his plate and took a few bites, standing there with the pilot, wholly comfortable in their standing conversation. He took a mouthful of the bacon mac n cheese as Trox spoke, swallowed, and took a swig of beer. "You're telling me. I swear, first twenty games of the season, I felt like those ******** didn't realize the first period wasn't just a practice skate. What a mess. Can't believe we're flirting with number two in the division right now."

(( Zul → Arriving, Food Table, back to Arriving ))

Just on the heels of Henry and Ethiriel, Zul passed into the familiar landscape, balancing his contributions on one hand. With his white long-sleeved button up folded slightly up his arms and loose at the throat, he did look a bit like a waiter. The Sigel possessed silver adornments where the gold usually was - his earrings, rings and bracers - as well as some around the base of his central horn.

The demon hesitated for a moment, seeing the throngs of chatting individuals. He easily picked out Melisande and Cesc from the crowd, just as easily as he picked out Lazarus and Xiu. Deciding that was not something he wanted to deal with immediately, he swiftly moved to the food tables - depositing his snacks behind Shepard as the man spoke with another - and quickly withdrawing back to the less crowded entrance. He'd talk with those he desired to...later. When it was less of a cluster.

As he returned, he spread his hands out to Ethiriel, smiling ear to ear though he knew she could not see. "Lady Ethiriel," he greeted the Frei, briefly flicking his blue eyes to the man next to her. "Henry." He tipped his head to the man before his attention was again focused on the Frei, hoping to gather one of her hands. "You look lovely," he commented, a little surprised to see her in blue of all things. "Are you well?"

((Ethiriel -> Arriving | Zul; Henry -> Kitchen window | Mordekai))

There was little wait before Zul had arrived, and much to Ethiriel’s pleasant surprise, her eyes were immediately caught by the silver bangles he adorned. Henry’s attention was also taken, and upon seeing the Sigel immediately make his way back he knew what was next.

”Zul! Nice to see you!” he exclaimed, extending his arm out so that he could offer Ethiriel. He wasn’t put off in the slightest by Zul’s short tone and his smile remained. ”I’m gonna head over here so you two have fun!” Henry explained, pointing over to the window of the kitchen. He needed to see about getting his contributions cooked.

”Enjoy,” Ethiriel offered, sliding her hand away from Henry so that she could meet Zul’s. Her eyes drifted to his earrings rather than his bracelets – much closer to his face. Expression softening, she took his compliment with a more natural smile and nod. ”I am well, thank you. You have dressed for me?” His light clothing and silver jewelry suggested so and she could feel a swell of excitement in her chest. Other than Henry and Leo’s attempts at guideposts, no one had specifically done that for her prior. ”While I may not be able to see, I am sure you are as dashing as always.”

--

It was a short trek to the kitchen as Henry bypassed those deep in conversation. Peeking in, he called out, ”I’ve got some extra food! Should I come in and help or would anyone rather do it?”

(( Zul → Entrance with Ethiriel ))

The Sigel gingerly took the Frei's hand from Henry's offered arm, giving the man another appraising nod as he disappeared. Zul gently tucked her fingers up beneath his arm, grinning a bit as she asked him about his attire. "I did," he confirmed, sounding quite pleased, "and I'm still looking for a way to wear a charm on my brow or a circlet so you can see me better, but most of them look like tiara's and even I have to uphold some pride." He was teasing, of course, but he was still shopping for items of that nature to wear when he knew she'd be present.

"I assure you I am far more clothed and feeling out of my element than usual, but it is a relief to know there are familiar faces here." Lifting her free hand, he gently kissed the back of it in proper greeting as he often did. "Have you met any other Raevans? I can tell you if they're here, if I've met them myself. Or if you're hungry, we can find where your meal has been procured."

((Ethiriel -> Entrance | Zul))

Ethiriel hummed as her knuckles met the Sigel’s lips, a light chuckle escaping her own at his teasing. ”You would look lovely, with no doubt,” she added, glancing between his earrings in hopes of meeting his eyes – even if she couldn’t see them, manners were still important.

”No, I am fine…” Ethiriel said, not feeling any hunger that might have bit at her rune. Her appetite had fallen over the last couple of weeks, but she wasn’t about to admit it aloud – especially if it would cause worry. However, she paused and closed her eyes in thought. ”There are familiar scents in the air… I am sure there are others I have met. I am fine with becoming acquainted with those you know, Sir Zul.”

[[ Domo & Lala --> Arts & Crafts area ]]

"So what do you want to do little knight? There's plenty for you to draw or color... I see some other options too." Lala smiled looking around for something to art with. Finding some scrap paper and glue she flopped down getting started on her project. "Don't be shy, there's plenty here."

Domo gave a slight shrug pulling on his bright orange scarf for comfort. Looking around he moved near Lala watching curiously as she began cutting through paper and gluing pieces together. "Um... " Sighing he brought himself low to the ground grabbing a few pieces of craft paper. "Not sure what to make.. hmm..."

"Here I got something!" Pulling out her phone she punched a few buttons smiling to herself as she plopped the device in front of Domevlo. "I pulled up a website on Origami. Why not try folding the colorful papers like these."

That looked promising, he thought while scrolling through all the different options. They were set up by difficulty level so he started with the easier options which seemed to be stars and flowers. "Domo will do these."

((Melanie --> Food Tables THEN Bonfire))

The woman had found herself a spot to eat the first plate of food in peace without much disturbance at all. She was watching all of the interactions going on around her and wondering when she would have the time to do more digging into these fascinating creatures.

Before she knew, her first plate of delicious food was done, and she was still quite hungry. Thus, she decided a second plate would be in order, at least until she was able to gather her thoughts and meet someone new.

Finding her way towards the food tables, she began to pick up some delicious mac and cheese, followed by a slice of her own pineapple salad. She then decided to find a seat near the bonfire that was starting and began to eat, keeping her eye on anyone and everyone around her, waiting for the most opportune time to chat with them. She kept a welcoming smile upon her face and nodded as people passed by her; simply waiting.

[[ Thanatos --> Food Tables then --> BONFIRE!!! ]]

Moving about the table gathering his food selections, Thanatos came across some pineapple salad. "That looks good." He muttered to himself moving toward the crawfish and corn next. Satisfied with his selections he moved off toward the bonfire area hoping to find a bit of peace to enjoy his meal.

Upon reaching the area he was rewarded a sprinkle of folks but nothing uncomfortably cramped. Noting a young lady off to the side, he took up roots nearby, smiling charmingly in her direction. "Is it okay if I sit with you? Its a bit crowded over yonder."

[[Ren > Cesc, Meli, Wasa, Tati, Anita, Luka - disengaging from the main conversation slightly]]

Laughter danced in her gaze as the aurora's chest swelled slightly at Cesc's persistent comment. "Perhaps I was only being secretly humble in hopes of receiving another sweet compliment from you, Cesc." Teasing and banter did not come as easily to her lips as it clearly did to the newborn beside her, and Ren's cheeks instantly turned pink in regret.

Her smile, thankfully, did not waver to show her embarrassment at her own words and she accepted one of the pamphlets from the unfamiliar but very sweet woman who passed them out. "Oh! I...ah...only brought cups," Revon replied, her gaze flickering over the food on the table. Doucette cooked sometimes, but had never thought to teach the frei how and hadn't had time to contribute to the party on behalf of the girl.

At the sudden appearance of Wasa, Ren's featured gave a somewhat startled look before growing into a wide grin. Although she was self-professed terrible at party manners she seemed to be doing well so far and so she was just about to open her lips to reply when instead a pair of hands slipped over her eyes and a familiar, warm voice hummed to her ears.

Luka's name was on the tip of her tongue but Meli beat her to it. Lifting her hands to rest over his, Ren spun in his arms, turning the sneak-attack into an affectionate hug. "Luka," she greeted him, his name on her voice speaking more than just those four letters.

((Melanie --> Bonfire | Thanatos))

Melanie saw a man walk up towards her with a charming smile. 'Oh, he's cute.' she thought to herself as she bit down on yet another bite of her mac and cheese. The food at this gathering was really quite delicious.

As he spoke to her, her attention grew on him. She cleared her mouth and throat of debris and then responded with an insistent nod, "Oh, yes, of course. The party is really livening up a bit, isn't it?"

The girl smiled and then introduced herself. "My name's Melanie, but you can call me Mel if you please."

It took a moment but then she opened up for more conversation by asking the same question she was asked by Cesc a bit earlier. "So, are you a guardian or just a visitor?"

((Food Table))

Pasha was shocked. She hadn't seen Luka in ages. It didn't surprise her that the Frei didn't greet her…despite how much she'd changed, he still seemed like his old exuberant self. She didn't realized until too late that she'd spoiled his game with Ren.

Melisande winced, and dropped her gaze to the side in time to coincidentally see Wasa duck away. Concerned, she watched the woman retreat, and caught sight of Zul and Eth near the entrance. He kissed her knuckles like a gentleman, and Pasha blushed though she was no where near them. It was amazing, watching him with new eyes. Rivener wore so much of himself so close to the surface, but Zul was more complex than she credited him. Such kindness, and such manners. He was still a mystery to her.

She didn't wish to disturb them, nor did she wish to disturb Ren and Luka, so she turned and lowered her sweet voice to Cesc. "Have you seen what your basket contains?" The Muse was curious, though she certainly didn't wish to pressure him to open it.
