Shanta looked up at End, and irritation crossed her face for a few moments. It was End, and he was worrying over her, and he always did that, that was his thing and she knew it, but still. Then again... he was right. They needed to check in with the Headmaster, and her leg was probably in even worse condition than she thought it was after the quake. Shanta was surprised the bone hadn't poked out her skin yet. Besides, she wasn't going to get anywhere with arguing.
"Okay," she agreed. "Take Shashi with you, though, you can use them to transport Tadion when you find him. I'll go check in and get patched up." She could feel the tears starting to come back and wiped at her face furiously. "...Put Daksha somewhere safe. I'll... I'll deal with him later."Yeah, just like I'm dealing with my own shitty emotions later, she thought.
Shanta touched her feather. Her wings, which had started to fade since they'd gotten back to the school, solidified into existence again. She flapped and rose into the air. The movement upset her leg, but the only indication that she felt anything was her fists tightening. "Improbs are a good idea, but get in and out fast. We don't need any more casualties." Shanta made her way to the Oak, spoke quickly with the Headmaster, and then waited next to the Merchant for Runesteam to finish with Marianne.
A cloud? How the ******** was she supposed to do that? Ari's eyebrows furrowed for a moment, considering the ball of water Naomi was still hovering in the air, then immediately un-furrowed as an idea dawned upon her.
As her fingers twitched and curled, Ari sharply inhaled for a moment. It was easy to lose your own breath when bending air. A slash of wind separated the water ball into two, and then another slash separated those parts into fourths. The wind slowly begin to whip around the ball, globs of water slowly becoming smaller and smaller. It took a lot of rapid air movement, but Ari was a fourth year and she was able to handle it. They had been taught this sort of thing, after all.
Soon enough, what had once been a ball of water was now an artificial -- and not totally perfect, but functional enough -- cloud.
"There--" Ari took in a slow breath, and for a moment the wind seemed to slow. Then it picked up again. "--You go."_
「Muna found himself relaxing a tiny bit at End's suggestion of Shanta staying behind. He knew she wouldn't take kindly to that idea at all, but Muna was seriously worried about her leg, not to mention her emotional health.
He also couldn't help but feel a bit relieved that End wasn't insisting he stay, either. After the two had separated in Justus and Muna had met with Vivian (not to mention almost charred to a crisp from the Black Dragon's fire, not that he was going to bring that up any time soon) Muna was a bit anxious at the thought of leaving End's side. Bijan was usually enough to keep him calm, but Muna was really in need of having at least Shanta or End by his side.
Watching as Shanta left, Muna nodded at Yani. "...Just so you know, Ya-knee," Bijan began in a sour tone as soon as he had made sure Muna had nothing to say for the moment. The fairy was doing surprisingly well despite being exposed to all the smoke and ash, presumably from having to live in a city with Muna. "The idiot broke her leg, and her fiance is dead. Make sure she doesn't do anything stupid, wouldja? You're a smart girl."
Bijan flit over to Yani's head, patting the top of her hair. The fairy felt a little bad for the girl. "Sorry for deciding everything without ya and splitting up as soon as you approached us but hey. s**t's gotta get done. Or whatever. I don't ******** know what to say in this situation, everything is on goddamn fire. Makes it kind of hard to ******** think."
In the midst of his spiel Muna reached for the marble he had buried into his pocket, exhaustion still thrumming in his veins. It was a good thing he was an elf. He could make improbs last forever, or so his little jog in Justus while it was burning down proved to him. At least End was probably in better physical shape than him at the moment. As long as End was safe and sound, Muna could bear anything.
Waiting for a moment in case Bijan wanted to say anything else, Muna waved his hands about to show he was talking. He was pretty sure Yani didn't know his sign language was fake and he didn't really feel like explaining, so it was better to be safe than sorry. Shanta was already off. Let's go then, End」

⊰aerykah - sampson⊱ Aery nodded as Naomi spoke, waiting until she finished to say: "Averill was in the dining hall with me, he did leave and get out safely. I saw him get around here, but I have no idea where he found himself. Hopefully with another student." she explained, quickly, noting Ari's distemperment and impatience with her. God, she hated this awkwardness. At least Naomi was trying to keep the conversation civil.
"The plan is fantastic, I'm sure your mom and I can handle it. We'll head over to Lucian once she arrives. I already have a plan in mind for where I'm going to split people up to... and hopefully you two won't mind houseguests? I'll cook for everyone if someone has a working kitchen."
And with that, Aery noticed Marinna Pritchett arrive. "Good luck, you two." she said, waving behind her as she went to meet Naomi's mom.
"Mrs. Pritchett, it's great to see you - not under these conditions of course... I'm assuming that Naomi has informed you of what we're setting out to do here?" Skipping most pleasantries, Aery took the opportunity to take her loose braid out, and put her hair in a bun on the top of her head. She was a little nervous as she wasn't as talented as an air-wielder as Ari, nor a healer for that matter - most of her studies this year had been sacrificed and the only reason why she probably wasn't kicked out was because she was house rep. In secret, she hoped that didn't show on her face.
"Yeah, you're right."Talking to Scarlett was comforting. Well, as comforting as it could get in the situation. Gilrin still shook, but at least she was able to give a small smile now."You know, Minin-"(Gilrin's older sister and twin of Tadion)"-use to tell me about the dragons that use to lived where I lived but died out long ago. I mean, I didn't ******** listen much because I can't stand history lessons from Minin but what I did get from it all was that dragons were these really ancient things that were very often friends with nobles like my family and lived peacefully alongside us elves and if you were hurt by a dragon it was because you were ******** terrible and needed to be punished."She let out a sigh."Well, that was a ******** lie, right? I mean, if dragons are like that we wouldn't be in this much s**t."
Averill had gotten to Merlins Oak, and sat his butt right down with a crowd of other firstyears he didn't know. They were all fairly useless, as a group, and one of the less useful teachers was keeping an eye on them.
He could see all the older students and some of the more recognizable firstyears talking to each other, or scurrying off to do things, or planning things. None of them gave him a second glance- even Naomi's eyes seemed to travel straight over him.
A big drop of something cold fell from his hair down the back of his shirt, and he yelped, tugging his jacket off. Upon closer inspection, it was the soup from beforehand, so he wiped it off his jacket. Running his fingers through his hair, he combed out most of the remains. There was an odd brown stain leftover on his jacket, and Averill had a tiny light go on in his brain, somewhere underneath all of the confusion and fear. The unlocked tannins in the soup must have dyed my hair He looked over at Naomi again, who seemed to have given up scanning the crowd. And she was probably looking for a blonde.
He continued to sit, content with safety and anonymity. At this stage, bothering to go up and announce he was around would just get in peoples way.

Sorry about the slowness of reply. I haven't checked Gaia in a while, and I'm a little out of sorts. One of the other lolita girls in my city got stabbed to death last week, and I just...Yeah. So, yeah. Have fun with the event though! And thanks for putting stuff in forums! I really appreciate being able to read up on everyones actions and replies.

End nodded, taking note of everything Shanta said. Taking Shashi would make things a lot easier, but he wasn't sure what to do about Daksha's body. He'd just have to step over the hurdle when it came, but if worst came to worst, Daksha could just stay on Shashi.
He turned to Muna as soon as Shanta left and nodded to him too. "Let's... yeah..." he said before turning and starting in the direction of the Janus common room and dorms.

I heard about that tragedy on the news and I didn't even give a thought to if you might of known the girl, either directly or via a community. What happened was really horrible and I'm sorry. Just... take as much time as you need to sort of deal with it all, and you aren't required to post if you're dealing with stuff. At the same time, if posting is a good enough distraction then that's perfectly fine too. I think we'll all do our best to be a good distraction if that's what you need.
Just do what you need to do to feel better about it all.

For a minute, Naomi seemed a little taken aback - she hadn't actually expected that to work. But work it had done, and Naomi let herself grin a little bit. Maybe her spur-of-the-moment plan actually had some merit. But it was too early relax, so Naomi took a deep breath and kept going.
"Okay," she said, looking at the size of the cloud Ari had just created. "Not bad for a test run, I'd think." She focused on the cloud and pulled the water closer, making the cloud heavier. The cloud shrunk and greyed, and Naomi felt a rushing sense of satisfaction. All it would've taken was another flick and the water would've rushed out, but she held it there for now.
Naomi then turned her attention to the larger blob of water. "Think you can do the same with the rest of it? I'll moderate the size and once you're done we can pop this sucker over the building."
Naomi's mother, Marinna, shook her head and summoned the remaining water from the fountain. "Naomi told me nothing, dear, except that I would be needed. However, if she sent you to meet me I would assume I am needed for either healing or putting out the fires with interelement cooperation, yes?" She smiled gently. "Might I trouble you in assisting me to create a cloud?"

Holy crap that's awful! I'm really sorry. Do what you need to to feel better/stay safe, alright?
Ari flashed a triumphant smile, face relaxing for the first time that day. Maybe there was some hope to get rid of all the fire after all. Not that Ari was the least bit unsure in her own abilities.
She stretched out her arms in front of her, cracking her knuckles to prepare herself. "One rain cloud, coming up." The fourth year announced, before taking another deep breath and doing the same trick with the larger blob Naomi had indicated.
It was a bit harder this time, Ari concentrating just a bit more on the quality of her wind strikes. It was clear that she was beginning to grasp the concept of what she was doing after a few moments, and while the task too her longer than the smaller ball after a while Ari had finished her part.
"Think it's all just about speed, so thinner jabs of air should be sufficient enough next time as long as I recreate enough of them..." Ari muttered under her breath. She would make sure she improved her method next time. She had to improve._

Scarlett ✿ Heyne xxxxxxxxxxfirst year lucian
✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿
Scarlett glanced at Gilrin. She sure was talking a lot. In Scarlett's experience, people talked a lot when they were very nervous. Then again, she had every right to be. It would seem strange if Gilrin wasn't nervous.
"...maybe this dragon is different," Scarlett said quietly. She had read on dragons, and while there were a lot, for the most part they seemed to be giant, benevolent lizards. Even the Gold Dragon, which she'd only heard whispered rumors of on campus, seemed like an alright dragon. This dragon, causing death and destruction, didn't seem like it at all. "...dragons are probably more complex than just black and white," she concluded, though she was talking more to herself than Gilrin.
Scarlett sneezed. It was wet, and she was cold. Bad combination.
Yani was surprised at how forward Shanta was about being a complete mess. She nodded in agreement to putting the conversation off until everything was a little less... hectic. Following Shanta's glance as she mentioned Pele, she saw a figure looking calm and content in the wreckage. Should we help her? Yani tilted her head but said nothing. Oh, Shanta's making up a plan I should probably listen... She started playing with her bangs again. Yani was only a first year and hadn't learned anything about magic yet, mostly because of her not waking up in time for classes, so she was starting to feel useless in their situation. She looked around at Muna and End and continued to think of ways she could still help. End's idea for Yani to stay with Shanta cheered her up a little; she was happy to be included.
Yani eyes widened as Bijan spoke. "She broke her leg? Where? Which part of the bone?" Yani was accustomed to creating make shift splints for her and her father ran into deer and moose that had a broken their legs many times on their way to her father's village. She noticed that Runestream was still busy with someone so maybe she could ease some of Shanta's pain by splinting the leg. She smiled when Bijan patted her head and laughed at his swearing. " It's alright Bee-jam, I understand. I'll do my best to look out for her."
Yani looked over at Muna and End as Muna waved his hands with concern on her face. "Be careful... I better catch up to Shanta." Yani ran over to Shanta and told her that she may be able to give the broken leg a little relief until Runestream was available and that she was also there if Shanta wanted to use her as a crutch.
The link beside PLAY is to the voice of Anna from Fire Emblem: Awakening, which is what I imagined Yani sounding like.

"Alright, she's ********' done," Galan muttered, propping Marianne up against the Oak. He looked at the Merchant, who had been standing over Galan the entire time with a fretful look on his face. "Calm your tits, mundane, she'll be fine. Just needs some damn rest." Noting the blood dripping down the Merchant's face, Galan's hand glowed again and he passed it over the Merchant's head real quick, sealing the cut.
"Alright, who's next?" Galan turned, saw Shanta and her bleeding arms, and sighed. The Diagnosis told him that it was her leg that needed more attention, so the healing professor rolled up his sleeves and set to work.
Marianne woke up the same way she fainted; wondering how good she looked, and also feeling faintly hungry.
Except somewhere along the way faintly had become extremely and instead of being carried by the Merchant -- who knew he could actually carry a person with those arms? wow -- she could feel something faintly barky pressed up against her back.
Absentmindedly noting that her hands felt really sore, Marianne inhaled a deep breath before lifting her arms up above her head, taking a nice moment to stretch before she opened her eyes. When she did, she was greeted by the sight of panicking adults, an incredible amount of teenagers, and the Merchant.
"You know, Merchant," Marianne piped up after a moment of staring at him, voice as cheery as usual save for the slight note of exhaustion that would only be detectable to anyone who would have known her long enough, "I am really up for some good ol fast food right now! Is there a place around here that hasn't gotten burned down to the ground yet?"

As the raincloud increased in size, Naomi lifted it higher into the air so Ari would have more room to work. Her confidence rose as the cloud grew bigger, yes, she was sure this was going to work. Maybe not nearly as good as a real thunderstorm, but judging from the cloudy skies, they wouldn't have to wait long for that.
In fact... hmm... Naomi's eyes glinted, but she tucked away the idea for later. She was pretty sure she wouldn't be able to pull it off, not without pulling a one-winged angel. Better to just focus on one thing at a time. "Nice job," she said, directing the cloud up and over the Ekaterina building. "Okay, hold it steady... hold it... and..."
This was the tricky part. Naomi's face contorted in concentration as she zeroed in on the water in the cloud, tightened her fist over the stone in her hand, and twisted it sharply as if she were opening a door. As if she'd actually unlocked something, the cloud opened and began to pour rain over the Ekat building. The flames flickered and hissed, and slowly but surely, they began to die down.
Despite the situation, Naomi couldn't help grinning. "It... it worked. It worked!" Sure, it wasn't going to kill them completely (they'd have to wait for a real rainstorm for that), but it sure was something. A real pity they hadn't been able to create a bigger cloud.

Shanta obediently held out her injured leg to Professor Runesteam, letting him remove her boot and cut open her pant leg. (She could just Mend it later.) Her leg was definitely bad, but Runesteam muttered something about Shanta being a "real ********' piece of work" in Elven before he set to work.
Out of the corner of her eye, Shanta noticed Yani approaching. Behind Yani, there were the boys disappearing into the Janus building. End seemed... well, distraught. Shanta frowned; what could make End so panicked? It probably wasn't good, but then again, there was a destructive dragon on the loose and Justus was a sea of flames. Nothing in this situation could be good.
Right, Yani. Shanta gave her a pained sort of smile, though whether the pain was physical or emotional was up for debate. "Don't worry about me too much, Yani, Professor Runesteam's taking care of it. My leg isn't really that big a deal since I don't--" Shanta let loose a particularly nasty Elven swear as Runesteam Set her leg without warning. (The professor in question gave Shanta dirty look, as if telling her to watch her language, before his hands began to glow with an Aura.) "--use it that much anyway," Shanta concluded weakly. "I'm glad you made it out alright, I'd hate to think what would happen if you were in the Commons!"
She was doing it again. She knew. But Shanta didn't really want to talk about what had happened in Justus at that moment, or Daksha, or anything. What she wanted to do was curl up in a ball and wait for this whole ordeal to be over and done with. But that wasn't going to happen, and too many things were going on for her to expect someone to listen to her stupid personal issues. It could wait til later.
