Elin entered with a strong and purposeful gait, boots crafting silent steps against the old flooring. It was usual for the ginger-haired girl to glide about like this, at her own elegant and wild pace. There was an unspoken acknowledgement of the stature she gave off, a slight awe that frequently set her apart from others. Although this was the case, she had come from her quarters yearning for more casual dialogue. Or at least less straining of her wrists from those damned quill pens. She stepped in just in time to see the young and very fair-skinned captain Nemo moving to privacy. She was slightly aware of Nemo's sweet tooth, and what it usually did to one's skin...but not his. Lieutenant Dera's honeysuckle eyes drifted after them, locking onto Jeremiah Case. She respected him, but damned the old man's timing. The fox-like girl sat on her own, planning her next move as she observed the on-goings all about herself. It was painfully obvious that interrupting now would get her nowhere. And so, she waited for her opportunity to engage with anyone. She did not project such loneliness, however. Instead, she fingered the silver chain around her neck.

Jeremiah dropped a single cube in, stirring and taking a sip with a slightly relieved sigh. The tea was not as good quality as his own, but it would do in a pinch; it was better than that swill called "coffee" that some people insisted on slurping down with not a bit of class or decency. He looked at the captain again, nodding lightly to him. "As you may be aware...my son...went missing a couple years ago. Searches turned up nothing, however I have....requested that the Military Police and Garrison keep an eye out for him." He nodded towards a bulletin board, on which was a poster of his on, black haired with keen eyes, yet carrying himself in an easygoing slouch, seeming uncomfortable in the fancy dress clothes of the upper class.
"It has come to my attention that a sighting of him has been made, in the Scouting Legion, of all places...." He frowned lightly. His dislike of the Scouting Legion was well-known; he was very vocal about how much of a waste of not only his own industry's resources, but every industry involved, to leave the safety of the wall and try to play hero, getting countless men an women killed for little cause. While he wasn't as drastic as others in his words, he made it known that he felt the Recon Corps was taking unnecessary risks for little reward for the end, with the only results being a growing body count.
Jeremiah took another sip before continuing. "I am not, of course, asking you to take action against the Scouting Legion, or to kidnap my son or anything that drastic, you understand....however...I am aware that the Military Police and the Scouting Legion will, on occasion, meet up or even collaborate for a common goal..." He looked at the young commander, nodding lightly. "All I request is that you ask your men to keep an eye out for my son, and report anything you discover about him, without being too prying or conspicuous. I would not ask you to risk your own men, at any rate. My son is not at all a violent person, but I fear that if he suspects my trying to glean information of him, he will not be too happy, and even put himself at risk trying to avoid my eye." As many knew, as a widower, Jeremiah's only legacy was his son. Many also knew of the rigorous "training" he subjected his son to, and how this chafed the boy to no end. So it was no surprise when he escaped, though even that was a mystery. "I do not expect you to do this for free, of course." Jeremiah added. "I would not offer anything that is illegal of course. I am not one of those kinds of nobles...." He frowned lightly at the thought of the corruption, that seemed to be so rampant among the upper class these days, like it was going out of style or something. "However, the favor of one of the leading weapons and equipment manufacturers within the walls can go a long way, you understand."

Nemo Axius Nemo finished off the last of his tea as he quietly listened to the man's proposition. Setting his cup down with a slight 'tap', he folded his arms and closed his eyes, contemplating the offer. No matter how he looked at it, it would be most beneficial to agree. Simple information in exchange for the favour of one of the most influential men within wall Sina? Still, as advantageous as it would be to accept, Nemo was still undecided "I am the Captain, but I fear this isn't a decision I alone can make" Nemo opened his eyes and unfolded his arms as he rose to his feet "As this regards the cooperation of the Military Police as a whole, I'll need to consult with Lieutenant Dera. I'm sure you understand." He said politely with a slight bow.
Nemo walked passed his visitor and made his way to the door of the office, before swinging it open and peeking outside. It didn't take long for him to spot his second-in-command, idly standing around, toying with her necklace. He left his room momentarily to approach her "You. Come." Nemo simply spoke these two words in his usual manner as he beckoned the woman into his room, with no authority and lacking any elegance. He also mentioned the basics of what he and Jeremiah Chase were speaking about, prior to Nemo requesting his Lieutenants involvement. Afterwards, he sat back down in his supremely, comfortable leather chair, opposite the aged man "Miss Dera will be with us in a moment. Don't worry, I see no vice in your offer, and I'm sure she won't either. If all goes as I expect, we will -probably- agree." He emphasised the 'probably', as he rubbed his tired eyes.

The fox-like girl stretched her arms overhead, hands interlocking as she worked her muscles a little. She dropped the stretch as Nemo entered, standing on attention as he beckoned her so bluntly. Must be something important from the captain. "What a charmer", she murmured under her breath, yawning to show her oddly sharp canine teeth, "I will have to wait on the ice breaking gift I brought, then." Her proud walk brought her to the Captain's room, where she glossed everything over with vivid yellow eyes. She tapped her foot on the ground, looking over the mustachioed man on the level, as if he were any other person. "So we have a babysitting job nyow?" Elin stroked her upper lip, fixing her eyes on the picture of his son. Seeing it confirmed a sneaking suspicion that Jeremiah's son didn't want to be found. At least, not by his father. I suppose I can find it agreeable, albeit a little bothersome. No disrespect, however what, exactly, do you intend to do once we find him?" Golden eyes searched Mr. Case's, full of wonder. She wasn't simply being trouble; she had the lives of her entire family stolen from her as a toddler. She strung her fingers around the chain on her neck, already thinking quite far ahead. If he were such a kind man, such a small piece of information should not be so difficult to acquire from him.

Jeremiah gave an understanding nod. He himself knew the importance of making a decision with one's peers, instead of simply taking charge and ordering it to be done. Running his business, his...legacy was the same way at times. "Of course. I hardly expect you to immediately tell me your decision without talking to your people." Unlike some of the pompous oafs within the walls, Jeremiah silently thought to himself.
He gave a small nod to Dera as she came in, noting the yawn. Very un-disciplined, thought Jeremiah, but obviously she got the job done, as did Nemo, else they likely would not be in these positions. Well, that or they had very deep pockets. But...well, the depth of their pockets would not matter if they failed to produce results, wouldn't it? Still, they looked trustworthy, and while that was not nearly enough for Jeremiah to put his full trust in them, it was enough to convince him to continue, looking at Dera at her question and giving a small chuckle. "I assure you, I in no way expect you to toss my son into a bag and drag him back to my estate, especially when he is enrolled in another military division. As I was telling your commander, I simply wish for information as to his whereabouts, his behavior, perhaps even who he interacts with, though, again, making sure to keep this as inconspicuous as possible. He is....not fond of my interfering with his life, and if he suspects that I am trying to, he may do something rash, something that he and I will both regret...." He paused. "In return, you will have my sincere gratitude...which, as one of the top manufacturers of weapons and equipment, Chase Industries will be more than willing to repay to you."

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? "Yes, and you'd do well not to study me like some kind of pervert." Her stance was much more confident now, as if there were someone else standing behind her for extra support. If anything, she certainly didn't want to leave them this task. For many personal reasons, it bothered her. Aside from the fact that Fox was uncomfortable with someone eavesdropping with such seemingly malicious intent, Mr. Chase's son would certainly be uncomfortable with Crystopher.
Elin's expression softened as Angel peeked in. "It's Lieutenant Dera to you, Angel. Especially in the presence of a high-standing member of wall Sina." Elin always found Angel's blatant disregard of the chain of command a little infuriating, but also very amusing. "Show a little respect, you scoundrel." She couldn't help but grin at the puckish soldier. The yellow-eyed girl was being friendly, though she kept it toned down with Mr. Chase present. She went back to her solid stance, looking very professional; a very strange look to anyone who knew her from her time before being a lieutenant.

Nemo Axius "Good, it seems we've come to an agreement. We will keep tabs on your boy and let you know how he's doing, nothing more, as per agreed." Nemo made a small, unfeeling smile, as the discussions came to a close. It seemed this little deal of theirs would benefit both parties. He turned to his lieutenant, who had apologised for her outburst "That's quite alright Dera. That's why I keep you around, at least one of us needs to be... fervent, shall we say?" Nemo rubbed the underside of his chin as he calmly spoke "Besides, if we choose to call in Mr Chase's favour, what's to stop us from discretely sending a little aid to the Scouting Legion?" He reassured his lieutenant with a quizzical look. Admittedly, he didn't think it very smart to share resources with the scouts, especially because of their high fatality rates. But Nemo knew how his lieutenant felt about the Survey Corps, it seemed it was a small price to pay for a boost in morale. Besides, if things went particularly well, it could help to bridge the gap between the Military Police and the Scouting Legion.
"Very well, Mr Chase, we will silently observe your son. Keep in mind however, this will come second to our regular duties. We simply cannot cease patrols of the city. I'm sure you understand." He let out a small, exaggerated sigh as he paused momentarily "However I will promise, that the few men and women that I can spare, in-between patrols, I trust wholeheartedly. They'll keep tabs on him, and be discrete... -probably-" Again, the young captain put emphasis on the 'probably'. He stretched his hand out towards the matured male, awaiting a handshake "This is what people normally do when they come to a decision... right?" There was a hint of worry on his face as he began to think that he, yet again, had misunderstood a relatively normal social custom.

Crystopher walks up to the door of the captain and brings up his fist to knock on the door. But he hears a conversation going on and couldn't help but listen in. "Hmm.." Crystopher wondered what he'd be walking in on if he were to just well, walk in. "Interesting...". Crystopher leaned on the wall outside and crossed his arms. "Guess i'll wait...Angel must have overslept..."

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? Elin nodded vigorously while Mr. Chase wasn't looking. Her rust hair barely moved. The girl thought of how people had told her about the Captain, but this was more amusing and obvious. He didn't seem to be cold as much as being socially awkward, which was charming, in a way. She could hardly wait to give the small present and move to the next activity, as she did not want to waste her patience on something like a chat with a big wig at this time.
Her keen senses caught wind of Crystopher Lionidas. Her movements were elegant and silent, yellow eyes keen on flooring that could make a sound. She quickly made it to Nemo's side. The fox-like girl whispered in his ear, "I have compelling reason to believe that this conversation is no longer private" she keyed him off to the door quietly, awaiting Chase's leave.

Jeremiah merely cocked an eyebrow at the girl as she chimed in. He usually detested being interrupted, but he understood the girl's concern, and plus, he was looking to make alliances here. She quickly apologized, which Jeremiah admired, before looking at the captain again. "Rest assured, my...grievances with the Scouting Legion are mine and mine alone, and I will not tell you what to do with any resources given to you by my company, as I am asking enough of you already." He sighed lightly, taking a sip and looking out the window. "Personally, I am saddened and frustrated by the Scouting Legion's efforts. So many men and women bravely charging into the unknown...and so many do not return, and sometimes the mission seems to yield little to nothing of value. I respect their sacrifice, but I sincerely hope that they do not think to solve the dilemma of the Titans by throwing bodies at it."
He closed his eyes, then took Nemo's hand, shaking it and nodding. "We have ourselves a deal, Captain." He smiled, nodding to the woman as well, then cocked his brow again as she whispered in his ear. He himself had a feeling there was a fourth man in this conversation, but, as this was not his turf, he would not say anything on the matter unless Nemo addressed it.

Nemo Axius A genuine smile, or as genuine as one could get without emotion, crept upon Nemo's pale face as he shook hands with his guest "Excellent." He spoke enthusiastically, which was, considerably unlike him. Afterwards, he dropped his hand into his lap and leant back into his chair, his other hand resting under his chin "Your grievance isn't misplaced, Mr Chase. I myself find the high mortality rates and low success... Concerning, to say the least" Nemo shifted a little uncomfortably in his chair as he spoke "That said, humanity's future lies beyond these walls, the Survey Corps seems to recognise this too. However, they're fighting a losing battle... I suggest they implement a new strategy or newer systems to combat the titans, otherwise... Well, excuse me, I'm simply rambling on now, aren't I?"
Nemo Axius was in the midst of apologising profusely to his matured guest, when he was interrupted by his lieutenant whispering into his ear. He understood her message immediately, and his odd silver eyes lazily swept towards the entrance of his office. Nemo quickly took note of the shadow through the cracks under the door, indicating that a person was standing close by on the other side "Thank you Miss Dera, I must have been quite caught up in the conversation to overlook something like this." He said with a slight nod and a grin as he turned to face the woman. The young captain then turned his attention back towards the door "You wouldn't happen to be eavesdropping, would you?" Nemo still sounded like his usual uncaring self, but, unlike usual, he held an unseen authority. He actually sounded like a Captain should, for once.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? Exotic yellow eyes gleamed as she fawned over getting such appreciation. And a grin with it! Getting attention just tickled her pink. Then again, as a very young woman, Elin was quite easily a bit infatuated. That aside, the girl was, if nothing else, very aware of her surroundings.Even in training camp, people could not sneak up on her as she slept. The foxy gal was always on attention, though she preferred to sleep til noon.
She looked to the door again. Whoever it was, she hoped they'd just come in already. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she made it quietly to the door, a smug look on her face as she got ready to open it into her and reveal the culprit. >:3

As the door opened Crystopher walked and bowed. "Hello Captain Nemo. I am Crystopher Kronos Leonidas. I apologize for seeming as if I were listening in. I merely didn't want to disturb this seemingly important conversation." Looks at his surroundings taking note in his mind what the layout for the office was. And also payed close attention to the faces. Crystopher had the look of a murderer in his eyes but they could not have been easily read. And his face was so emotionless it could have even rivaled the Captain's.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? Elin nearly rammed into Crystopher, hands against his chest for an instant too long for her. Her pupils dilated, than shrank, the hair on the back of her neck standing up. She scowled at him, but swallowed. She remembered him. Although he was handsome, he was also fearsome. The girl found herself shifting to a more solid stance, looking up at him with some amount of awe, as if looking at a massive wild carnivorous animal.
She did not let herself get caught up in this too long, as she saw him looking over everything so ferociously. The lieutenant cleared her throat loudly, putting her hands on her hips for not apologizing to her as well. They may have been the same age, but they were not the same rank. Now she was quite aggressive and sassy looking, having seemed to have recovered from the initial shock. "Apology accepted. It would seem to be an honest mistake, albeit a foolish one." She hissed firmly, yellow eyes burning into his head. All attention from him was to be on her, as she now commanded the floor with his shifty eyes.

Nemo Axius Nemo leisurely nodded his head as he listened to the man's justification, the gentle movements causing his chilling white hair to ever so slightly shift atop his pale head. His eyes, which were slowly creeping up and down the man called Crystopher, eventually ceased their movements and found their way back to the guest sitting opposite of the young captain. It would seem that Elin would handle things regarding the interloper. However, there was one thing Nemo wanted to know. Exactly how much did this man hear of their conversation? Regardless of his inner questions, Nemo turned his attention to Jeremiah. He was completely sure his lieutenant could handle things by herself.
"Mr. Chase, I hope this hasn't left you with a bad impression of the Military Police." He said quietly, giving the mature male his full attention "I did not mean for this to happen, nor did I wish upon it. I hope you understand this, just as much as I hope you accept my humble apologies."
