Evan looked down at the $20 in his hand and also sighed, though far less dreamily and much more resigned to the fact that now he'd actually have to walk. "Be right back," he muttered, shooting the Russian an odd look before hobbling his way awkwardly the entire short distance to the ice cream cart. It took a little bit of digging--and maybe even some uncomfortable bending--but he was finally able to find what Kostya wanted.

"Here you are," Evan said after he teetered his way back. He put an ice cream packet in each of Kostya's outstretched hands, his smile much friendlier now that he could go back to fidgeting uncomfortably in place and he was ten bucks up. "Enjoy your, uh. Kawaii McDesu cream, or whatever."

Stormy wanted a cookies and cream something like that giant oreo thingamabobber and there was nothing anyone could do to stop her. Cookies and creammmmmmmmm.

Meanwhile Jack grabbed himself a turtle popsicle, wondering why anyone would be getting ice cream in December before remembering that good food was hard to come by. He glanced at the table where his group sat, lingered, and then perused the rest of the faces gathered there.

"What is this sorcery?" Edgar bellowed (as best a prince his size could), stomping noisily towards the bizarre mechanical festival that was taking place in the courtyard of Kingdom Deus Ex. The subjects appeared to be enjoying some sort of treats on sticks, he noticed, in favor of noticing the marvel of technology that was the ice cream truck itself.

His narrowed eyes observed that the costumed attendants were acting as servants - including one President, if his sight did not betray him.

"Yon maidens," he called, hands on his hips. "We demand to be served!"

When her offering of the Batman that Mimsy had been savoring was so quickly consumed and handed back to her, she was a bit lost for words. She stared with wide eyes and a dejected pout at the dripping globs that remained on the stick and slowly dropped it on the ground.

"Do...you like ice cream more than...?" Yes, of course. It made sense that he loved ice cream more. It was all that he could focus on, in spite of her heartfelt admissions.

She would have hated ice cream if it were not so fantastic.

One half-hug and a kiss was not nearly enough, so she tightly wrapped both of her arms around him, cheek smushed against his shoulder.

"Oh, nevermind. Now it's like we are surgically connected. Inseparable for eternity," she lovingly murmured, a contented smile spreading across her face, in spite of the ice cream complications. There was nothing to be concerned about, anyway; the ice cream would melt or be eaten, and she would still be there when that point of inevitability occurred.

So everything was wonderful.

"I can hear your heartbeat," she whispered, barely able to finish her sentence before a cheerful giggle overtook her.

Off the menu. Riiiiiight. Didn't mean he wasn't allowed to stare at her, a chilling gaze locked on target and not willing to let it out of his sights. She had been ignoring him, not answering his texts, punishing him, more then likely, for not listening to her about the death lead and his insane tantrums. But yet there she stood, smiling, blushing, chatting to Nevada as though she didn't have a care in the world.

He'd been in this situation before. He understood. He had just hoped she would have had the decency to tell him it was over to his face, instead of being a coward and avoiding him completely. Inwardly, he felt another part of him turn off, a switch that was flicked so easily, simply shutting down that part of him that had started to feel like he could care again.

At least this time wasn't like the last. At least this time he hadn't gotten too attached.

Ripley slapping his hand down jolted him back to the here and now, and he turned to level a winning smile on his friend. "Not for me, at least." He agreed, reacting to the situation with an oddly cheerful lilt in his tone. A lie, but he had come to be good at lying about his feelings in the past few years. The death trainee took of and left Finn at the table, rapping it's wooden top by drumming the fingers of his left hand against it.

When he came back, he grabbed for the ice cream and lifted it up to tear the wrapper off with his teeth, taking a quick bite of it and chewing, before Ripley's sudden new nickname for him nearly made him choke.

"Ha ha. So ******** hilarious. Can't wait to hear more one-eye jokes. Please, keep them coming."

And then a sharp bark of laughter. "When am I ever happy? Anyways, distract me. What have you been up to lately?"

Jordan glanced over his shoulder, then looked again. A slow, evil smile appeared on his face. "I'll be right back. I need to go make Robert uncomfortable for a minute," he said to Harrison and Rep.

He detoured back to the truck, then headed straight for Robert and Mimsy, carrying two popsicles and wearing a smirk. "Would you like some ice cream,. uh, masters?"

Dakota came over to Jordan and placed a hand on the sun hunters shoulder with a quiet moment of grievance.

"I didn't know it was this bad man...."

He shook his head sadly at Jordan.

Maybe she had been wrong. All that agreeing made it sound like Robert understood, and he did return the sentiment. She just kept giggling as he rocked her back and forth, pleased that he was properly returning her affections.

"Yeah it is," she cooed, in a voice best used for adorable dogs, loosening her hug to pat his chest. It felt incredibly amazing to know that someone felt strongly enough for her to make such a claim about one of their vital organs.

So amazing, in fact, that she was growing increasingly more thrilled about the idea of actually watching it beat for her.

"You are the most impressive anomaly that I--"

The sluggish, lovedrunk words that she spoke against him were interrupted by Jordan's question. She turned her head just enough to look at him with one eye, and began to make a miserable, needy sound as she appeared to reach towards the popsicle.

Then she reached past the popsicle.

"Jooordan, nooo," she whined, still clinging insistently to Robert. "Come live with us. You are so clever. We would be happy."
